Changelog: post #3
Notes:
CCMT is starting to take over development, and will soon also take over support in these XDA threads as well. The ZIPs linked from the XDA threads for download from my server (chainfire.eu) have always been checked, built and uploaded by myself. It may well be that v2.76 is the last version where this is the case.

SuperSU v2.71 BETA released, CF-Auto-Roots updated
Really isn't much to mention about this, other than that all the changes for N Preview have been merged with the main BETA releases, where they were two separate releases before.
Additionally, all CF-Auto-Roots have been updated with the new version, and a lot of them have seen base firmware updates as well.

It updates the timebomb for non-Pro users to February 2017. v0.52 stops working in November 2016.
Also the embedded SuperSU has been updated to the latest version.
In other words, nothing noteworthy, but upgrade anyway.

New York Cheesecake - NYC
But just as it did with KitKat (Key Lime Pie), Lollipop (Lemon Meringue Pie), and Marshmallow (Macadamia Nut Cookie), Google has an internal name for N: New York Cheesecake. The code name's initials "nyc" are showing up in the AOSP repository in a few instances, just like klp, lmp, and mnc did before them.

First Android N OTA Update Is Already Rolling Out To Beta-Enrolled Devices
Factory Images are available from here (Build NPC56X)
Will link to OTA zips, if and when they come available.
As I haven't updated to Android N yet, don't know if current root methods will still work on this build.

Android N Developer Preview 2
Used Chainfire's FlashFire app to Flash N DP2 to my Nexus 9 wifi last night.
Was on 6.0.1 beforehand.
Just Flashed Boot, Vendor and System Images.
The FlashFire app successfully rooted my device in the process.
Latest TWRP still boot-loops on Encrypted Nexus 9.

ElementalX-N9-5.00 for N - DP2, now available.
As TWRP is not working properly on encrypted Nexus 9 ( N-DP2), the easiest method to Flash it, is to use Chainfire's FlashFire app.

Successfully Updated to N - DP3 - NPD35K on my Nexus 9 using flashfire to flash factory images and root.
Device is successfully rooted.
But bad news is that FlashFire can not flash zips now (ElementalX, Adaway sytemless host).
It just gets to the spinning logo and stays on that screen. Chainfire is aware and working on fixing it.

So if your updating with flashfire, apply any zips at the same time as your updating.
Or alternatively temporarily boot twrp (Still not fully functioning on N), and use that to install zips from OTG, or via adb sideload in advanced.

Thanks ! I'm now on DP1 with TWRP installed and encrypted device, so to flash DP3 and root it without installing TWRP, I just need to flash DP3 firmware package if I do well understand ?

@TheLonelyCyborg I used FlashFIre to flash DP3 over DP2. So to answer your question. You should be able to do the same coming from DP1.
Since your encrypted, TWRP doesn't function on N. So no point flashing it. I just temporarily boot if I need it. "fastboot boot <name of twrp.img>"

Cool man :good:
I don't want TWRP, but I had it work on DP1 with no problem and encrypted (and no special kernel also), so maybe there's a trick for those who want it.
Btw FlashFire roots automaticaly the device, or we have to flash superSU zip ?

TWRP working on Nexus 9 DP1 (since where on Nexus 9 forum), I choose not to install that version of N.
FlashFire app will automatically root in the process.

Ok Well it worked but with FlashFire we don't have permanent root don't we ? So we can not use the classical version of adaway for example ?
Well at least I am rooted without having to install TWRP, thanks for your post !

Yes you have a permanent root, same as flashing supersu in twrp.
Just a systemless root, but you can still modify the system if you need to (eg: - xposed)
For AdAway there is systemless hosts file available.
But as Flashfire is currently broken in DP3 (Chainfire is working on it).
You may need to temporarily boot TWRP to flash the adaway zip.
"fastboot boot <name of twrp.img>"
Install the zip from OTG or by sideloading it.

Ah cool I did not know we could boot temporarily on TWRP with fastboot.
So I did what you said by sideloading the adaway.zip, and it worked well.
If it can help someone else.

If you let it bootloop for awhile it will eventually load. Then sideload the supersu zip or install from OTG.
Or alternatively use the CFAR method to root.

Flash the FLO bootloader. It's OK.
is it only working as primary via multiRom recovery?
I installed it as secondary and it failed to boot.
Google+ still missing for me here
Just finished booting.
Root is no-go for me (says binaries not installed despite having installed supersu zip).
Gonna see if I can tinker around with it to make it work, but for now no root for me.

That is an affirmative.
Also after you install it as primary, you'll need to install a kexec kernel to be able to boot to your other (now secondary) rom.
ElementalX 3.00 should work fine for that.

on this core
I flashed my deb to stock 4.4.4, installed twrp, followed all instructions in op, and I cannot root. Thus I second another user's experience with root not working/SuperSU saying there are no binaries installed. I did install the supersu zip in twrp.
Also can't install Google+ neither from Market nor APK.
Fixed by flashing newer gapps package found here.

For SM-G530H / 5.0.x Lolliopop ONLY!!!
DEODEXED OR ODEX!
ADDITIONAL NOTE: (Nov 2020 update) Hey, Sorry I've been gone for a long time and I don't have the phone in me now. I don't think I can help you guys in any way as I don't have the phone anymore. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK AND ALWAYS DO A FULL BACKUP.
INTRO:
You can now install TWRP recovery and Chainfires' SuperSU without using a PC! All you need is your Android Device and a stable internet connection.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Internet Connection
• Flashify (Download it from GOOGLE PLAY)
• Mega (Download it from GOOGLE PLAY)
• Kingroot [Latest] (Search it on GOOGLE)
• TWRP.img | Download link (MEGA)-> https://mega.nz/#!YB9RiJza!Acn3L1Js7JyLUK3im8vwvTs6CIkak01uarVC-opOihk
TUTORIAL:
• Root Your Device using KINGROOT.
• Now you're rooted! Move ''TWRP.img'' to ExternalSdCard
• Open ''Flashify'' app, Find ''RECOVERY IMAGE'' and you'll be prompted... Choose 'CHOOSE FILE' and locate the 'TWRP.img' on your ExternalSdCard.

• Move it to EXTERNALSDCARD
• Flash Via TWRP
• DONE! Congratulations, Kingroot is gone and you now have SuperSU!
Did it work for you? Tell us in the comments!
Hit like if this tutorial helped you :3
NOTE: every time you restart ypur phone it will automatically go to TWRP recovery, Don't worry it's normal.
On latest samsung firmwares(I'm using xxu2bok3 for 350h)im using cwm and flash it with flashfire and don't have the reboot in to recovery bug, before the firmware update(xxu...BI0)have that bug, think Sammy fix the kernel b/c I'm also notice that my phone is faster keep more ram free, even with a lot of app open in the back and the best is not aggressive on managing the ram any more closing the apps when you open another and let it in the back.
Good tutorial ?
Also you could mention that if anyone wants to use Xposed, now is not necessary deodex the ROM, with version xposed v79 beta from artec, just need to free some space and flash it through TW or cwm.

systemless version is not under official development by rovo89
basically, another dev (topjohnwu) is developing it from official sources
maybe in the future rovo89 will provide some tests builds, but that is simply up to him
so short answer, it might be compatible, but no promises
however, current unofficial version is compatible (if you test), but some xposed modules are not fully developed under systemless root

Latest Material Installer and Systemless v86.3 and v86.4.
Tried official v86 too
I can confirm that official framework works fine with material design installer. That's the only combination that's working on my G5. Haven't tried systemless version.

i recommend you Magisk 15.2 stable, much better than superSu, you can hide root to certain apps, pass safetynet and survive to system updates.

You don't even have an installation guide...what recovery? Nothing... seriously?
Flashed with safe strap. Boot loop...then I had to flash nc1 kernel zip. Booted, but system ui keeps crashing. This rom is junk
@chrisnice906......SafeStrap for the N900A is no longer supported by Hashcode; as such it wouldn't work.
If you want to install the ROM use FlashFire Pro.
Steps:
Download the ROM, use FlashFire to first select "Reboot to Download Mode" and flash the ROM. After flashing, use Odin to flash the Lollipop OC1 kernel and then reboot to recovery mode to factory reset. After reboot normally and wait for 5-10 minutes for the ROM to boot successfully.
If you have issues with the System UI, I will advice not to use the AOSP overlays for now. If you still have issues, I will have to come up with a fix.

Because I expected that all members of XDA Devs should know how to flash a phone.
I'm sorry if I misled you initially. Have fun with the ROM!

And yes it did work with safestrap. Just kept getting force closes.
Maybe flash with safestrap, boot to download mode then flash the oc1 kernel. But I also flashed with safestrap then flashed oc1 kernel zip. Maybe do that then factory reset?

If it works with SafeStrap, you can flash, boot to download mode, flash OC1 kernel, then boot to recovery mode and factory reset; though my advice is to use FlashFire because it is hassle-free and easier to use.
Like I said before if there is anything wrong with the ROM, just say what it is and I will try to find a solution. Enjoy the ROM!

If you are using normal FlashFire, set the date to any older than 2013. But for FlashFire Pro, you don't need to alter anything.
