Bad Boyz in the house ;) - AT&T HTC One (M9)

looks like the ATT M9 forums are as dead as the other carriers one of our team members @chas123 just switched to ATT, so we had to build a ROM based on official ATT ROM instead of INTL, Marshmallow to follow!
do most users use INTL ROMs?

yeah i using viper one rom. i converted my AT&T m9 to developer edition and flashed that rom. i noticed there is no development for AT&T switching from sprint.
i will say one thing. this M9 sure is a dud for development.

The m9 in general has been dead the whole time for the most part, I think most m8 owners didn't see it worth upgrading. If I knew then what I know now I would have gone with the S6. ATT blows

T-Mobile ROMs

It looks like there aren't any ROMs based on the T-Mobile formware on any of the forums. Are y'all getting the same data speeds on the international ROMs? Is there a tmobile radio to flash?
You should be able to flash any in the HTC One Forum. Our device is the M7 so you should have no issues. Only problems some people have been seeing is from ATT so far with roms that don't have the proper RIl files and this is believed to cause the radio to switch from E, H, and LTE chronically.

thanks, i wasnt sure if our device was M7 or not.
stupid question, but does flashing the roms on the international one forum **** up the radio?
Only if the ROM includes the radio. As far as I know, no one is including radios in their ROM's. I would personally hold off flashing any radio until we get a flashable zip, RUU, or other means to go back to the shipped radio. Some users are having issues with the WWE radio on Tmobile and ATT. Some may think it's just the rill files too.

Yah that's the one bummer about non T-Mobile ROMs. It's impossible to get WiFi calling working. Has to be a T-Mobile based ROM.

It's the same thing after you unlock the boot loader and have a custom recovery
The only thing is you have to flash the kernel manually

I mean, the "you can sort of unlock the bootloader but you can't have S-OFF" is obnoxious but it isn't any easier to bring your phone--if anything, the limitations placed on operations done in recovery make it harder to actually brick your phone since the boot and recovery images are normally flashed in fastboot.
But yeah, Nexus phones are much kinder to tinkerers. News at 11.

Yeah, that's what I did too. Only mildly sad to give up wifi calling; I never go over on minutes anyway.
Can't wait until there's T-mo specific roms. I get absolutely crap reception in my apartment and NO reception at work, so i desperately need wifi calling.
What we need is a good all around android dev /Rom chef to dedicate there time to our branded HTC one.
I hope Roms aren't gonna be generic forever leaving us with partially set up Roms/ having to flash radios constantly and whatnot !Never knowing what's compatible and what's not .
If that's the case I foresee a lot of angry people and jtag sales in the future .
I'd give it a month or two before we have a few 2-4 dedicated tmo HTC one roms 100% ready to flash and go just for us only .

International HTC One (M7) roms on our AT&T One?

Just wondering if anyone knows whether we can use the International HTC One roms for our AT&T HTC One....I've noticed they have a lot more active development on their forums compared to ours and a much wider selection of roms too.
I assume it would be the same considering they both have the same internals, including the processor, etc. but I just wanted to make sure if anyone knows / has tried it before I take the chance and brick my phone.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help, greatly appreciate it!

So it seems all international ROMs have some issues in regards to the AT&T setup. With Trickdroid, Android revolution, Renovate etc. you can select AT&T during Aroma, but you are left with issues. My main main issues is not able to use the native hotspot function. How do you guys work around this? Do you use other alternatives for the hotspot or do you just install the international setup?
I'm running this on my AT&T One, no issues, hotspot works.

I'm curious as to what happened in my situation. I live in a thriving LTE location where anywhere I go I get full LTE strength. When I first got the device, as stated, I had full LTE signal everywhere I went. After a few days I flashed TrickDroid (and have flashed every update henceforth) and just completely lost my LTE connectivity. I absolutely love TrickDroid, but the best signal I get now is HDSPA+ and I've been searching far and wide to figure out why I have this problem. Other AT&T users that have flashed TrickDroid report no effect on LTE capabilities.

ROM Request - T-Mobile base

Apologies in advance. I've never done this before.
I was just wondering if it would be possible to get a GSM Sense 5 ROM based off of the T-Mobile HTC One. We have them for the Sprint version.
The reason I ask is because of WiFi calling.
If not, no big dea.

[Q] AOSP bricks on this phone?

Hi XDA,
So I used to have a Sprint HTC One, and never flashed an aosp rom because of so many people getting bricks on their phones. Is this a Sprint only problem? Or is this a problem on all carriers?
Here is a link to some of the sprint threads:

[Q] Where are the ROM's?

I just purchased my S5 yesterday (April 17th), but I regret selling my M8. I thought the S5 would have more dev support and more ROM's than M8, but I guess I was wrong. On the T-Mobile M8 Android Dev section there is a GPE ROM and a RUU to covert the M8 to stock android.
I was expecting like 5-10 ROMs on the S5 already (as was with the Note 3), but I guess I'm wrong? Or can I flash ROM's meant for the non T-Mobile S5?
That's my main question.
Where are the ROM's?
wow really?
Impatient much?
You do realize that this phone came out less then two weeks ago.
And I am sure that not that many people have jumped to this since there were so many people that develop that are already on the s4 and the s5 is not that much of a upgrade for them to switch.
Not to mention that the AT&T and Verizon cariants are not rootable yet and more developers are typically on those networks to begin with.
Give it a little more time for the others to get root and developers to move over and get used to the different setup and roms will come.

Well just saying the M8 has more ROM's and even stock android flashability (made that up )
Seriously though, there is a GPE ROM for M8 that allows you to flash back to stock still, and the RUU Google Play Edition, which essentially converts the M8 on T-Mobile (and other carriers) to a GPE version of the M8 permanately.

I haven't tried it, but I would assume it works fine as long as you keep the T-Mobile firmware. There is some discussion in the general thread about people running the international ROMs as well as in the international forums, look around. I think we'll start seeing custom ROMs built from the T-Mobile base sometime next week at the latest, I'm content with root for now.

I'm thinking of upgrading as well, but coming from carrier specific devices (the Samsung Infuse, ATT only, and the Nexus 4 on Simple Mobile), there hasn't been different variants. So the T-Mobile devices is compatible with ROMs built for the international variant? Would the kernels for it be compatible as well? The only thing that would be lost would be the carrier specific additions such as built-in VOIP? No differences in partition layout?

APN shows T-Mobile, so I believe its just a kernel/radio issue. It's up to you if flashing a custom ROM is worth no LTE.

You need to verify the T-Mobile APN. Maybe the settings are not for T-Mobile LTE. I had the same issues after my flash but I am on AT&T. Just make sure the APN settings match that of T-Mobile LTE. Carriers have more then one APN.
