i picked up two of the stones. they charge the nex 6 pretty quick--wise choice.
when the phone is off, does this charger turn the phone on when charging? it's a pretty annoying thing on my nokia Qi charger. it never did this with my nexus 5, only the n6
if directed to me, i never turn off the phone so cant comment.
i THINK i have read on this site that the nex 6 , if off and put on wireless charge, will turn on the phone. maybe its not specific to any one charger...

I use the Tylt VU for wireless charging. However I can confirm for me personally my N6 does not stay in its "awake" status while charging. I do however have my N6 go into daydream mode while charging. QI works very well for the most part. As discussed in a totally different thread but, be aware, for whatever reason after it goes to a full charge with QI daydream stops as well as charging altogether. From what I have observed personally, there is no trickle or slow charge being performed when charging reaches 100%, nor does the QI kick back in (which would be annoying in a sense) when it drops 1%. However I've had the N6 for about two weeks and never had any issues with it being below 100% when I wake. Just an observation and something to consider.

I've got two questions:
Since I'll be receiving my direly awaited S6 Edge 64gb tomorrow, I have two questions which I couldn't really get any good answers for.
The first one is about the speed of charging. Since the battery in the S6E can't be switched so easy, I'm a bit concerned about battery health, especially since I plan on using the phone for a long time (budget is tight). Now with my last phone (which unfortunately I had to sell in order to come up with the money for the S6E) I used one of my computers USB ports to charge the phone over night. I read somewhere, that it's better for the battery to be charged slowly and since my computer powers the front USB even when switched off, I always used it to slowly charge the phone overnight. It would be faster charging with a wall outlet, but I didnt need it to, so I figured it would be beneficial for the health of the battery.
Is that actually true? Is there maybe even some way to keep the phone from charging higher than 80%?
My second question is about wireless charging. I'd really like to get a wireless charger for my desk at work, however I will be using this ->

case on the phone. Are there any wireless chargers, that will go "through" that case?
If so, do these chargers charge so fast, that they let the battery health deteriorate? Do they stop charging when the battery is full or is there danger for overcharging or heat building up because of the case?

You shouldn't worry really. There are rampant unjustified myths about quick-charging. If your device is designed for that feature, the processor and software work in conjunction to prevent damage to the battery. The turbo charger provides large amperage to charge quickly, then reduces at an appropriate level. I've used turbo or quick charging since the Motorola Droid Maxx 4 years ago. Today, those Maxx still function as well as the first day. I do not purchase any device that does not have turbo charging. As far as wireless charging, a decent charging plate should have no issue. I use only TYLT and I build furniture around these things. I put glass top over them and never have problems charging.

Do all the wireless chargers feature "Turbo charging", or do you mean charging with a wall outlet by that?
I've read in some reviews, that in combination with the S6, the tylt charger tends to fully charge the phone, then stop charging, then after a while commences charging again, leading to the phone screen lighting up and the "phone is charging" notification sound playing, then turning off again when the battery is fully charged and so on.
Did you experience any of this?

@quangtran1 If you use the fast charger on your S6 Edge, are you also experiencing the screen rotation issues people are suggesting that are caused by the fast charger? I really wanna know how i should be charging my phone to avoid damage once i receive it. Thanks in advance
I myself do not have the screen rotation issue with fast charging. I do know, however, that Samsung has acknowledged this on "a very small number of S6 devices, and has the solution to resolve it". Samsung did not disclose whether this was a hardware or software issue. @myh0mie Wireless charging does not offer fast charging. Fast charging comes from the 2-amp wall block.

Oh cool then it's good to hear that it seems like it's NOT the fast charger that causing the issue and the fact that Samsung already has a solution to it
I haven't had a screen rotation issue either, on a 64GB Edge (AT&T).
As far as methods of charging, seems like the "Adaptive Fast Charging" is definitely the fastest way to charge the phone. The feature only seems to work with the packaged charger, though. I have a few 5V 2Amp chargers that don't charge my phone as fast as the packaged Samsung charger. It's extremely effective when you're very low on battery life, below 25%.
If you look at the Samsung charger label, it says it outputs at 9V 1.67Amp OR 5V 2Amp. The 5V 2A is standard on many chargers. The 9V 1.67A must be the Adaptive Fast Charging.
For wireless charging, I purchased a few PowerBot Qi chargers (very good price and reviews on Amazon) and supplied them with 5V 2A power to keep myself topped off at work and overnight. To me, they seem to charge the phone at about the same speed as a generic 5V 1A power source.
My last phone was a HTC One M7 and I kept a close eye on the temperature with an app called Cool Tool. I still run the M7 in the same operating environment as my S6 and have noticed that the S6 runs 10-15 degrees (Fahrenheit) cooler than the M7 in both charging and non-charging states. Hope that helps.
I have the S6 edge with the TYLT desk charger and the TYLT car charger dock. Neither of them charge the phone quickly at all. I am not a fan of either really, but I use the desk charger on my desk at work and it is fine to keep the phone topped up throughout the work day (I forget it's even there). The car one, however, is going back. It charges hellishly slow, especially if you run any tasks like music streaming or GPS. Not a fan.

It is supposed to charge the phone both in Landscape and in Portrait since it has wide 3 coils charging area.
Does it work with case i-Blason **Dual Layer** [Kickstand] ?

i got the samsung wireles charger, only the regular wireless charger not the fast charger. how come my N6 wont charge when the phone is OfF? when i put on top of it phone turns ON. also the samsung wireless takes forever to charge my phone. is that how it is? how many hours this choetech charge the N6? does the N6 using choetech can charge when phone is OFF?
The phone switching on when it is being charged is a known issue with the N6. I'm not aware of any way to prevent this.
Regarding fast charging with a Qi charger - the current (low power) Qi spec does not allow for this. There is a draft spec for both medium- and high-power charging, but it will be some time before chargers and devices that can use this technology become available.
Using Qi charging almost requires a different mindset for your device. Rather than letting the battery become almost depleted and then rapidly charging it, I have Qi chargers everywhere that I frequently have my phone (office, TV room, bedroom, car, hotel rooms), so that my phone is normally sitting on a Qi charger and the battery rarely goes much below 100%. If I am away from mains power for a long time, then I have an extended battery pack that I can plug in to the phone (though you can also get Qi versions of these).
Would a charger like this charge through a case? I have a Spigen Ultra Hybrid case (with clear back) for my N6.

I also use a Spigen Ultra Hybrid case (great case!) and all my Qi chargers (I have about half a dozen different types) work fine with it.

Does this charger keep the phone charged after it reaches 100%?
The charger I'm using now (a Tylt knockoff) will reach 100%, but then stop charging until the phone is removed and replaced. This means if the phone is on the charger overnight, it'll usually drain a few percent between 1-2 AM (when it gets fully charged) and when I get up.

I have this charger and it does completely stop charging once the phone is full. Thankfully the N6 idles incredibly well and I always still wake up with 100 or 99%.
I actually returned this charger though because the LED charging indicator on the side of the stand is obnoxiously bright. Serves as a night light for my room while I'm sleeping.
So I've been able to test out this nice USB car charger from Choetech Official with Qualcomm 2.0 charging capabilities. And I must say this lil thing works very well. Charged my Nexus 6 up from 15% to 73% around 45min. It's a well built charger that has smart technology for recognizing what kinda devices you have plugged in.
Has a dimmed LED that changes from blue to green when you plug up a fast charge device.

I received this charger couple weeks ago and have been using it. The charger arrives in a nice package with the standard accessories. Inside it has the charger, the usb cable, instructions manual, and a pamphlet that ask if you're happy with the product or not. Pretty standard nowadays. I got the black charger but they also offer it in white. The charger is shorter than my other ones which is a plus for me. I don't like them to stick out of my car port since it's really close to my shift knob. The charger comes with two usb ports. 1 is for quick charge 2.0 for some phones like my galaxy note 5. The other is a normal port that charges pretty fast too, up to 2.4 amps. You can use either ports to charge your devices and they will charge to the max allowed but if you have a quick charge 2.0 enabled device, it's best to use that port. They colored the port blue for fast recognition which is nice. I don't have to fiddle around with it while I'm driving to figure out which port it is. The quick charge can charge my phone from 50% to close to full in about 45 mins. It takes longer if the phone is being used. I use the charger daily during my drive to school. I always charge it up to 100% before I head to class so it can last me all day. I was worried that by using quick charge so often, it would deteriorate my battery life but I haven't experienced that yet and hope I never do. When I use the charger to charge 2 devices, they both charge at their max. My phone charges with the quick charge while the other phone charges with the other port and it doesn't affect each other, which is very good. I really love this charger. If Iphones had quick charge, I would buy this charger for everyone in my family.
Choetech also was nice enough to allow me to test one of these charger for them.

This is a great little charger, and I do mean little.
The size actually surprised me a bit considering this is a 4 port charger.
I expected this to be a huge block sticking up from my 12v car port, but it actually is a nice small charger.
I have 2 port chargers that are bigger than this is, enough about that, on to the review.
Looking in the package you will find:

The USB cable is one of the best ones I have received with a charger in a while.
It is not thin and flimsy like you usually get.
The charger itself is made of a nice gloss black plastic and looks and feels like it will hold up well to years of abuse in your vehicle.
This charger does support Qualcom Quick Charge 2.0, meaning that it will auto adjust voltages and amperage to best charge you compatible device as quick as possible.
In testing I found this charger to be able to charge my LG G4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 5 in about the same time as my other Quick Charge 2.0 certified wall chargers.
This will also charger non Quick Charge 2.0 certified devices at the maximum rate they will allow.
I tested my LG G3 that is not Quick Charge 2.0 certified and will max out at 2.1a charge rate.
It got 2.0a charge rate from this charger which is great.
There is also a blue LED on this to help you find it easier in the dark.
The LED itself is dim as to not be distracting,
I have attached some pictures showing how small this charger is and me using it to charge multiple devices including 2 phones and a GPS unit.
I have had zero problems with this unit and am glad to have it.
I would recommend this to anyone with a car or truck and either multiple devices they need to use daily or a device that is Qualcom Quick Charge 2.0 certified.

I got to use this charger too. Having 4 ports, one with quick charge was really handy. I was able to charge my Nexus 6, Nexus 9 tablet, and an iPhone 5S all from the same charger without having any drop off in charge rate from any of the devices I could measure with Ampere (Nexus 6 & 9). Overall, there isn't much more to say that the other guys above didn't say.
Other thoughts:
It's really small. This thing packs a lot of power for its size.
It is scratch and finger print prone, but I plan on leaving this in the car all the time; so that doesn't really affect me.
The charging light changes color based upon normal charging (Blue) versus quick charging (Green)

probably grabs too much power and the design to make that might be too complicated without having some power fall off? Personally, my phone is the only QC device i'd worry about and the rest could take the slower charging. But that's my 2 cents.
I have this charger, too, along with a number of other CHOETECH products. Their quality is top notch with affordable pricing!
I have this charger in white so it sticks out surrounded by all the black leather in my car, but that makes it easy to spot and I keep the white charging cable in the quick charge slot so I know which to use when my phone is low. It doesn't seem to charge fast while the phone is in use, but it does charge quickly if you just leave your phone idle and let the charger work its magic.
Even you didn't have a quick charge device, it's handy to have a two port charger. I'm happy with that product.

The 3 coil plate is incredibly convenient to charge and is much more forgiving for a good connect for the wireless charging to begin. I have a Ringke case and also read even the Otter cases are no challenge for a contact point since it has 3 coils to choose from. The Quick charge 2.0 ac adapter was one of the cheapest that were also Qualcomm 2.0 certified. You don't need a 3.0 because our S7's are only 2.0 compliant. Don't waste money buying a Quick Charge adapter that is 3.0 or over $10.
For me this has worked really well with my case and I can charge fully in what I would guess 2.5 hours. I usually just casually have it charging well before the battery is low so I can't really tell you except I did get a full charge around 2 hrs before which for a wireless Qi really is a fast charge compared to the old 0.5 amp output days.
Take my advice for what it is and let me spare you the hour of research in comparing hardware and learning about what Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 is and why our S7s don't even need the 3.0 version.
I might go for a substantially more expensive three-coil wireless charging pad, if it were my only one. But the convenience of wireless charging is so great, that I have one near my bed, one at work, one in my home office, and one in the kitchen. Two coils are good enough for me. Most of the time I get my S7 placed on the first try.
FWIW, I think fast wireless charging pads have become commodity items. I have both Choetech and Pleson, and would buy on price.

Battery monitor tells me it's just over 700mA, but it's during nights, when sleep tracking is active too.
i have the car remote charger too, but that one can barely keep up while driving with Waze (screen always in night colors, low intensity)

Yeah.... I've noticed this as well, unfortunately it only "fast charges" with the screen off. With the screen on you get around 200-300mA. For me, 200-300mA is not good enough and I lose probably 1% every half hour driving. I have however noticed that if the phone is at 95% it will pull more current from the wireless charger and will stay at 100%.
