Could not upgrade to new version - Greenify

Hi,
I have 2.6.1 installed and I want to upgrade to 2.8.
But when I want to install from Play Store, it fails and get error 505.
Then I check the APPs and found the uninstall button is greyed out, I could not uninstall it.
So I remove the greenify related folders under /data/app and data/data, then reboot.
But it still fail to install from Play Store or apk.
And it works fine before.
How could I fix this issue?
Thank you.

For uninstalling Greenify, you have to disable it first in DEVICE>SETTINGS>Security>Device Administrators. Then the uninstall button will work.

Thank you!
I use Titanium Backup recover Greenify first then disable Greenify in Device Administrators.
Afterward uninstall Greenify and reinstall again.
It works now.

[Q] Improper Removal of Greenify

Hi,
I am currently on a rooted Galaxy Note 4 running kit kat and I improperly removed Greenify through Titanium Backup without backing it up. I found the proper method afterwards, but I can't deactivate it anymore through the play store after unchecking the settings in security. How would I install it back?
Thank you in advance.
I'm sorry, what do you mean by "can't deactivate it anymore through the play store"?
So I go to the play store and it has the two options "deactivate" or "open". I obviously get an error when I try to open it since I uninstalled the files. When I click deactivate it tells me to go to my settings and unchecked the box and stuff. Which I tried but it still won't let me deactivate after unchecking the box in settings > security > device manager > uncheck the box.
The error when I open it says "unfortunately com.oasisfeng.greenify had stopped working"

Go to Xposed and deactivate Greenify from the Modules list. Then reboot and see if you can install again from Play Store.
I just rooted my phone so I am new to this. When u say Xposed you mean Wanam Xposed app Right? Thanks for the reply.

No. I am talking about the Xposed module by rovo89 and tungstwenty. With this module, various mods can be installed one of which is Wanam Xposed and Greenify is another.
In which mode were you using Greenify, root or boost? If you were using it in boost mode, you should have Xposed installed and Greenify activated in Xposed. If in root mode only, then you don't require Xposed. In that case wait for the OP to reply.

need help

Greenify doesnt working with xposed module....not all xperimental features....i mean boost mode...running lollipop5.0.2
Did it work before? Have you donated? You have root and the correct Xposed framework installed? Is Greenify enabled in Xposed and have you rebooted? etc etc etc

A Couple Issues
I will tag onto the need help thread here and hope someone is familiar with these issues. I have Greenify and the donation package installed. I have had it working well before. Now when I open Greenify I get only the screen that lets you select the mode and the experimental features.
I uninstalled it via TiBU and reinstalled the backup with the same result. I uninstalled via TiBU (could not uninstall via the Android App Mgr. It was grayed out. I reinstalled via the play store - had to do via PC because I can't install from the phone for some reason. I get the same result. Only can see the single screen. Also, Greenify is not asking for root and does not show as having root permission in SuperSU (2.49) . I have rebooted, wiped cache and dalvik, and still have the same issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have version 2.6.2. It had been working in the past. It would sometimes get stuck on the same screen, but I could always get it to go to the main screen for hibernating by reopening.
I installed 2.7 Beta 2 and got the hibernate screen. Then when I rebooted it went back to the same problem.
I figured out that I had to remove administrative rights to uninstall, so I did that, uninstalled, reinstalled 2.7 beta 2 and it asked for admin rights and has them, but still I cannot access the hibernate screen after rebooting. So it seems to work okay until I reboot. I am running the latest Xposed for LP 5.0. I also uninstalled and reinstalled from the play store 2.6.2 (via PC) and I could not access it either through exposed or through the app drawer. I then enabled Greenify in Xposed and rebooted and still it is the same. I may have to remove and reinstall Xposed.

Go to SETTINGS>Device Administrators and uncheck Greenify. Then to SETTINGS>Accessibility and switch off Greenify. Then uninstall Greenify the usual way, not through TiBu. Reboot.
Then try to install Greenify from Play Store or download the apk and install. Enable Greenify in Xposed. Enable Greenify in Device Administrators and Accessibility. Reboot, not soft reboot.
Then open Greenify and see whether you are able to access all the features.
You have root and Xposed, I hope.
Thanks

Can't use PlayStore anymore after flashing a rom

Hi,
I recently bought a le max 2 from GB with Gapps and multi-language and everything was working perfectly, but i wanted to update the phone, so i decided to install the stock chinese rom (eui 5.9.021s) through the stock recovery. Now, when I try to open the PlayStore it always stops and closes. Furthermore almost all my Gapps (YouTube, gmail, play games, play music...) seems to be installed (when I go to the options they result as installed) but I can't see them anywhere. I have already tried to uninstall and re-install it, but I have this problem as well.
Can someone help me please?
That is the problem of the Le Max 2. You have to go to app management, uninstall all the problematic apps manually and then reinstall them again.
Thanks for your answer!
Your method works for most of gapps (for example if I uninstall gmail and then install it again its icon will appear) but it's not the same for PlayStore... I tried to uninstall and re-install it but it doesn't work(there's its icon but i can't open it). I thought it could be a problem of Google play services but i can't even uninstall it.
Another strange thing I noticed is that when I click on the PlayStore it immediately pops up a message that says that PlayStore stopped working but it keps running in the background and it closes just when I Press a button ("ok" or "cancel") of the message that doesn't allow me to use it.
Have you got any advice for me about this issue?
I recommend to install via custom recovery, eg. TRWP.
Download your gapps package here:
http://opengapps.org
After than, flash it via custom recovery.
100% working method!

That's the problem of the phone, it wouldn't let some apps, particularly the system apps, to be uninstalled completely. When you try to reinstall the apps on top of the existing one, problem arises. Now, I am unable to get the IR Remote Control working again. If your phone is completely stock ROM and has not yet been rooted, back up all your apps and data, do a factory reset and reinstall them. If it still doesn't work, you might have to reinstall the apps via TWRP as rqzor99 suggested.
Thank you amowagou and razor 99 for the help you are giving me.
My phone has never been rooted and i have not installed any custom recovery (what's more this was the First time I tried to flash a ROM .
Probably if i do a factory reset, Google play services and the PlayStore will be deleted from my phone because the stock chinese ROM doesn't include them and then I could make completely new installation of them as amowagou said. Probably I'll try this solution because it allows me to have them without having to modify my phone.
As well I also apreciated the advice of razor.
(Obviously if someone else has other advises for me they are welcome!
I'll let you know if following amowagou's advice the problem will be solved
If you have stock ROM (your Chinese ROM) without Chinese market, called Lestore - there isnt another option, you have to flash gapps via custom recovery. Be careful with choosing package - arm or arm64 - TWRP tells you if you have wrong one and it will dont let you install it, no worries.
If you have Lestore in your stock ROM, just find gapps and install it.
Thats it

Don't know how to change my app settings/can't uninstall Greenify to start over

As I add apps to my phone, I'd like to be able to update my preferences in Greenify. The only way I've been able to do this in the past was to uninstall Greenify - then update my preferences. Now, I can't uninstall it. Don't know why - need some direction. I must have used a setting elsewhere on my LG G4 to make Greenify not be able to uninstall. In any case, I should be able to change my prefernces without uninstalling - then reinstalling it. Please help.
What happens when you try to uninstall Greenify?
Try phone Settings - Security - Device Administrator and uncheck Greenify, then try to uninstall it.
If that doesn't work Greenify - Menu - Troubleshooting - Uninstall .

Donation Package Features Greyed Out

I have installed both Greenify and Donation from Play Store on Lineage15.1 . It was working before. I did a clean install of the ROM and now it wont work.
In about, Donation Pack is recognized. In settings without installing Donation Pack, it prompts to purchase and now it is greyed out which means it does recognize the donation but wont work.
Using latest Magisk and Gapps. And it has nothing to do with startup at boot becuase it did not prompt me to do so as it does on OxygenOS.
I do not have the smiley face modding app installed. It also did not work when i installed Xposed. But, before all this it did work. Other apps with donations are working fine.
I dont know why this keeps on happening to all the people who actaully paid for it and not to the pirated copy users.

If you restored Greenify through TiBU or a similar app, this issue is likely. Sometimes even when it is installed from PlayStore, this happens.
Wipe the data and cache of the Donation app and then uninstall it. Then reinstall the Donation app from PlayStore and check.

Done that wont work. Did not use Titanium. This is clean install LOS with NanoOpenGapps and Magisk. I had cleared Dalvik, System, Cache, Data, Internal.
This is i guess a weird case of license verification fail. But then again it does recognize the donation just the features are greyed out. I have tried restarting and clearing cache of Store as well as Greenify packages.
@oasisfeng Need a little bit of help here.
Same problem here, just cleaned flashed rom.

Does not work.
I had the same issue. Installing an older version of the Google Play Store fixed it for me. There seems to be an issue with licensing in the current one. Version 10.6.30-all [0] [PR] 201585272 and older did the trick for me.

How do you do that? Becuase i flashed the lastest GApps so uninstalling updates would only take me back to 10.7.x
If you try to sideload, it wont let you and again for downloading Greenify you need Internet connection which also means Play Store will update itself.
Edit: I actually tried a Nandroid Backup one month old where the Pro features were already activated but now no incall sound for me ( This was not a bug in the build-worked when i created backup ). When the Play Store upgraded, the features were still available because Greenify stores a local key saying that this device is good to go.
ditto... same problem!! Hopefully Google address the bug soon and update Play Store. Rather than hunt around to install an old version I'm just gonna wait it out
Google has addressed the broken LVL issue. The latest OpenGapps releases are now bundled with version 10.6
Will be flashing it now an hope it solves the issue.
Edit : Works like a charm on version 10.6.
Thanks for the info on broken Play Store @Mo72
