AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.

Known Issues & Extra Features
Known Issues
Clock application force closes when selecting "profiles" under alarm. Other than that that app works flawlessly and will still get you up for work or school
If you use a Google apps package "Mini" or higher you won't even have this issue.
Benschholds Custom Kernel Support
At first I was going to add Benschholds Custom Kernel by default to my ROM but after talking to him we decided it was best if I keep to using my stock AOKP kernel and just link his kernel here for those who dare to be different, so the choice is up to you I've included the link in this post where you can research his kernel, I have personally tested this kernel and say it's really good for performance and speed but the stock kernel (The one included in my ROM by default) Is the best for Stability and battery life... So the choice is yours

(Don't forget to give thanks on his thread if you appreciate he's work)

Google Apps & SuperSU
There is a known AOKP issue that means you'll loose your Google Apps when flashing a new update.
The fix for this is to always flash the gapps package of your choice along with the update itself in recovery!
SuperSU is not present by default but feel free to flash it.
I've personally tested the SuperSU 2.70 beta with my ROM and it works perfectly!

Yeeeep one more ROM tot flash this use to be my favourite on my Nexus 4

Thanks for the thread...
Heard a lot of good things on the one plus WhatsApp GRP
Excited to try..

Finally a reason to get back to XDA!

SimpleAOSP is a CUSTOM ROM based on AOSP, which aims at keeping AOSP as simple as it can be alongside improving it's stability and performance.
NOTE:
SimpleAOSP has two builds, Stable and Nightlies. Stable builds will have the option for Delta updates but Nightlies wont, so you need to download the whole ROM for nightlies, since you wont get delta updates with it.

Love this Nexus community! Damn there sure are alot of RC's around here.
Love it. Thanks for the work will be flashing shortly.
Oh yeah, The version is build 8 already since builds 1-7 for SimpleAOSP was with Mako, HH and Flo. Shamu was not yet added before and this is the first time we released it for the Nexus 6, just to avoid confusion.
Thanks,
Francis
Sweet. Was gonna flash gapps but they are a month old. Can we use whatever we like.
more roms :good: might flash later depending on if this is one that plays nice with current franco kernel/if netflix is working.. may flash regardless because it's a rom, why not flash it?

As with any other ROM, yes you may. My favorite gapps are the ones by BaNkS (he is apart of SimpleAOSP team according to OP)
http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=banks&device=gapps
I think OP needs updating too as it mentions Titanium Backup and their test build back in October.

Banks FTW... never encountered any of these weird camera issues people report and other packages unless I download the huge 200mb+ ones only restore several apps without TiBu, every other Gapps I've tried has either been flawed or much, much larger than Banks' in size for the same funcctionality

I'm glad he started putting his versions of gapps again. I tried PA Pico gapps but banks gapps are smaller in size :good:
I dislike the 200MB+ gapps, too much google apps bloat is included that I never use (e.g. play books, play magazines, google fit, etc). I can always get it from the Play Store if I want it Google.
Updated GApps link to @BaNkS minimal, forgot to update it awhile ago. Lol!

Hello and welcome to Fusion rom!
We are searching for maintainers for the LG G3 as we don't own this device!
Our android based project started out as a private project for the Samsung Galaxy S2. Now a few years later we've gained much more experience and are proud to release it to the public.
Fusion rom is based on Android Lollipop and is built for a more user friendly environment and many fixes and improvements to the source code.
This results in a fast, battery friendly rom for your phone including many features for everybody to enjoy and customize the rom to their own likings.
This is not a single person project.
It's the work of many different people spending time to make Android better.
Downloads, screenshots, installation instructions and so on can be found on our website: http://fusion-rom.net/
Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/FusionR0M!
If you like Fusion you can help us paying the monthly fee for hosting and so on (donation link on website).
For all people who want private support
Please consider using the contact page on our homepage or writing directly to [email protected] rather than sending PMs.

Hi,
If you're still looking for a builder/maintainer/tester count me in.
I can build. I have a decent computer and almost illimited storage
I own the LG G3 (and 7 other devices) and I have tried Fusion and really liked it
BUT : in the latest versions I've noticed that you have pushed away the NavBar customizations... do you plan to add them back again ?
Regards.

AOKP-ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you'd ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they're "baked in" by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone's settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?

We have gotten the mess that OnePlus did, and made it a bit better, so you all can finally use a Marshmallow ROM with a AOSP feel and the perfect camera that provides STOCK vs other ROMs! And a cool UI too!

A little about Team Iridium
@deletescape and @pagaiba, back in the days when OOS 3.0 was released, after a month of friendship and everyone's ears dying because of the audio drivers that OnePlus provided, decided to team up to do something unique, something beautiful: build ROMs for their fellas everywhere, so you can all enjoy Android as much as possible.
They joined their forces to create Team Iridium, to which later incorporated more people.
Team Iridium currently consists of:
@deletescape (Phoenix ROM and First AID creator)
@pagaiba (I'm so cool k)
*will properly correct this later since they weren't disponible at the time of writing this post*

FAQ
How often will builds be produced?
When I have the time and when I want to.
Some feature is not working, can you fix it?
If it is working on Lineage, I'll look into it. If not then it will probably get fixed eventually by the Lineage team.
I dirty flashed and now have some issues
I recommend a clean flash and stock kernel. If you ignore this, then please don't post your problems here before trying a clean flash.

I've been using it for the last couple days. It's comparable to other nougat Lineage based roms for stability and battery life.
Hi bro
Congratulations for the new rom.
Just wanted to suggest uploading to another site like AFH or Mediafire, Mega is hard to download from using phone, and their app has a lot of bugs, thanks again :good:
If you need me to upload it for you, I'm here (just in case your Internet connection was bad or something...)
Regards.

I will flash tomorrow thanks
Thanx for this ROM, clean flash, feels smooth and responsive.
Will report back, regards @noppy22
Just flashed. Really nice rom. It has almost everything I need. Maybe you can add more customization for Statusbar (changeable fonts & colors). And Lockscreen middle shortcuts. Thx for your hard work.

Feature requests should be directed to the AOKP team, maybe AOKP G+? I just compile from their sources.
its really stable`? how is battery life
I installed it yesterday, and I expected more functionality... I don't know if it was bugged on my device or this ROM doesn't support it, but Quick Settings panel wasn't working at all. Can't wait for updates though!

Did you clean flash?
"Quick Settings" not working is a big issue, and other ROM users should have noticed that as well..but they didn't, make sure you cleaned install this ROM and wiped (system, data, cache, dalvik cache) before installing.
