I'm using latest stable firmware 7.2.4.0 without anything changed, no root and locked boot. When I encrypt storage and enable pin lock phone just stay on boot animation. If I only make encryption without PIN or only PIN lock without encryption, phone boots normaly. If anyone have idea how to fix this problem, please share it.

Please help to solve this problem. I have set a password instead of PIN-code on my phone Redmi Note 4 MTK. The password was difficult and included 3 words with spaces, I confirmed it and everything was normal. However, after reboot the password was incorrect.
How can I reset the password or get access to the data on the phone?
Your only option here is to perform a full wipe via recovery.

Well, I have a ZE554KL, with OREO 8.1 installed.
The phone is boot loader unlocked.
I use the fingerprint + pattern lock.
I know it is my fault, but I got the phone running for 2 months w/o rebooting, so all of suden, today the phone locks itself and ask for the pattern lock for "additional security". Well, after 2 months not using the pattern, just the fingerprint, I ended up forgetting it.
Now I am stuck. I cannot reset the unlock method neither via the phone nor the google device page. Is there anyway to remove the pattern lock or switch back to the fingerprint, without the need of wiping my data?

Nobody out there with a Solution?
The same thing happened to me.
The sitution for me was that I tried to switch from the stock ROM (which uses encryption for "data") to an older ROM which did not use encryption. So first I had to swipe data to get rid of the encryption.
It is hard to tell from your report.
For you, it might also be similar to this:
twrp asks for password
whenever i want to boot into twrp it asks me for a decryption password. i tried to enter my pin code but still it says wrong. i tried to wipe my phone but still it asks for a password. i hope anyone help me fasy.

Hi, I have a POCO F3 Pro with a custom ROM and I forgot my password, but I can still unlock it using fingerprint. Is there anyway I can reset the password without factory reset? I also have TWRP installed.
