Who have a problem Reinstalling Remix OS on a Flash Drive check this out? - Remix OS for PC

I noticed From my Testing to this Build that Normal Format of the USB will not work and some how the remix installer is being crazy and when I try to reinstall remix it retrieves back everything I had in the USB
so please call do a full format not the quick one on windows so that all the data will be gone and the old partitions will be gone and then try to re install the new beta version.
and who ever wants to get the latest OTA update released Marsh 15 they should enable the testing versions in the update settings.
this is just a small feed back who ever wants more info or have faced any problem please feel free to ask. :good:

I didn't believe it but I gave it a try and...it fixed all my problems to reinstall Remix OS on the same USB key. Thanks !!!

Hey I had an iball i701 with uefi bios
I downloaded the os from the torrent provided by jide
I installed the os in a pen drive and 14.5 GB turned into 3.5 gb
I went in uefi boot settings and turned the boot option 1 to USB sandisk
But the os is not booting up its simply booting up to win10
Any ideas?

Yeah you have to make sure that you enable the old boot menu and then press either F8 or F9 or F10 or F12 depending on your computer and then select the USB as the first boot option.

Endless Boot Loop - Booting from USB

I'm trying to boot Remix OS Legacy version on a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop, from a San Disk 16GB USB 3.0 drive. I've downloaded and burned the Remix OS to the USB twice but all I get is a Boot Loop.
The PC starts booting and I get the option to boot in Resident Mode or Guest Mode. Doesn't matter which I choose, it gets to the point in the screen shot below and the PC simply reboots over and over.
I've checked the BIOS and can't find anywhere to disable secure boot or anything like that. Any help or ideas Thanks!

When your pc starts, keep pressing F2 key. You will enter the BIOS menu. Go to the boot tab, select "Legacy Boot" mode and disable "Secure Boot". Change the boot structure from HDD to FDD. Press F10 to save and reboot. Done.

Ah, but you didn't say search harder. You just reiterated what I'd already been doing.
I guess that old PC isn't gonna run Remix.

My nine year old ****ty laptop has legacy boot, dude, how is it possible you dont have it. If not, get an update from the motherboard's official website.
For example, some acer laptops did not have legacy boot mode, so, they released an update to it on their official website. Maybe, your manufacture did it too.

Do you really think that all the brands release updates for their bios?
Most of them don't! The one for my motherboard ends at 24/11/2010....

Well don't look anymore for secure boot because Inspirons don't have/support it.(Under system information mine says unsupported) I don't have any ideas/recommendations for you other than to redownload and reburn to usb because on my Inspiron all I had to do was change the boot priority order in the boot menu and whenever the usb is plugged in I boot to it.
I think Remix is still in alpha stage. From other side, there is to many diferent hardware, and it is hard to support all of them. My experience: I have Toshiba Satellite L775D AMD quad core wit AMD Radeon 6520G hd and 6GB RAM. I am very familiar with instalation of OSs on hdd, I have 4 Linux distros, 1 Android x86 and 1 Windows 10 on same hard drive (multi boot, runing GRUB from Arch Linux), but I can't boot Remix. Also, I can not boot Android x86 Lollipop and Android x86 Marsmellow. I can boot Android x86 KitKat and have one installed on hdd. From other side, on my wife Acer Aspire, I can boot all of these stuffs.
Sory dude, but I think you simple have no luck with your hardware and Remix. Maybe things will be better in future for you (and for me).

Same with me still, with beta
Workaround for dell inspiron is to use PlopKexec boot manager. Don't know if it will work for HDD but I got USB 32bit version working on my Dell inspiron 1545 using it.
32bit works for me!
Got an old Dell GX620. 64bit gave endless loop symptoms. 32bit works like a charm! :good:
My Toshiba Sattelite C50d-a-13w can boot remix and android x86(_64) from 5.1 to 7.1 ...................
I realize that this is way overdue, however Dell laptops back then did not support secure boot, and while they did support both UEFI, you could not enable or disable either, you just had to manually specify each time you boot from USB what you wish to boot (and Dells use F12 for manual boot).
As to whether RemixOS boots or not, that is down to the specific hardware and OS version.
I have an Intel DH55HC motherboard, and Remix OS booted on it without issues, until the last versions, where it would keep failing to boot.

Do remix os work with a i3

I just got a pc part by part but i didnt have much money so i got a i3 processor i was trying to install in on my pc but did work i was getting a error
Try this
You need USB with Remix OS (from step 1 and 2) install it using there .exe on Windows
Start from step 4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/remix/remix-os/install-remix-os-parallels-vm-t3328973
What is the error.

initial force close and also try the usb but still the same
That isn't an error. I had that with my i5. It is just the system setting up. Reboot and it should be good to go.

Slow boot to Remix OS [Dual Boot with Windows 10]

Hi,
I installed Remix OS for PC on my Asus N750 laptop. I installed it the "official" way on my SSD with Remix OS installer. It installed ok, but it took arround an hour until i could boot into it. Now, when i restart my computer and pick Remix OS to boot, it doesn't boot in 15min. I don't want to wait 15 min every single time to boot into it. Do you guys have any idea what is going on?
Thanks
@miHah whoa that's a surprise - 15 mins on an ssd? Are you not exaggerating this?
You should report this issue directly to Remix team - the form is on the jide website.

Yea, its true. It stays on "booting GRLDR" for about 10min, than screen goes blank for 5-10mins, after that my comp goes straight to sleep. When I wake it up Remix OS is ready to use. Really strange. How long does it usually take to install Remix OS ? Because that process was about 60min long.
EDIT: I don't think it is Remix OS problem but GRUB or boot or bios or whatever. I don't know much about that tho.
HDD
I run a little more than dual-boot on my diagnostic laptop. I have the primary as Windows 10, then I have some FAT32 to emulate a Flash Drive (To install whatever need be without dragging out my USB drives) then around 150-200 GB into the HDD I have Remix OS. Past that I have Boot and various Linux distributions. I've noticed that when the Remix boot partition is past the ~100 GB mark it acts a little squampy. Maybe 5-10 minute load time. An hour is insane. What you *could* to is make the core Windows 10 OS take say 64 gb then set the boot for Remix OS directly after that. Heck, put the whole thing there. Then, once you have both operating systems running and operable, partition the rest of the hdd like a (D drive and just install anything you need there.
P.S. I have a x64 processor, however when I try to run the x64 version of Remix, I get some serious bugs. I have to run the x86 version for some silly reason.
Hope you find this information useful. Let me know if you have any questions.

No, I don't. I use an HP Pavilion G6-1220SA
I had a similar issue when I tried to install it on my girlfriends laptop. I don't have a solution, but will check the wireless chipset, it might be an issue with that. I will post later.
i have seen this too but i use EFISTUB. it happens when kernel and initrd.img in the esp aren't updated after updating.
I'm guessing you are doing the standard setup. so i don't know what the issue is?
remix does not like broadcom wifi it can be the problem.

I have been able to install PhoenixOS on the Ezbook 2, but WIFI works but I have no sound. I have not tested the drivers yet. It also ran as a DUAL OS and funny way I had no more Wi-Fi on Windows 10. PhoenixOS did not uninstall anymore and I had to reset WIndows.
Next problem followed right away, I get the boot entry from Phoenix no longer out of the system, it stays in the BIOS and I'm looking for a solution. Easy UEFI was no help, it always came back after deleting the entry.
