picture related, sorry for bad potato quality, using twitter camera instead of the default camera.
after updating the OTA to the newest build, it seems that after opening the app that has a "forced full screen". it might crashes and reboot it and now, the taskbar has disappear.
I've been recreating the problem twice, along with reinstalling Remix OS. I can confirm the main problem is in fact due to the full screen apps (some are forced) will crashed and reboot. the taskbar won't appear.
as for work-a-rounds, honestly, no idea. I already reported the bug to Remix Staff already, I feel confident that it going to be fixed quickly.

I tried that option, it didn't work for me. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong.
EDIT: I GOT It WORKING.
Apparently, I suppose to drop it in the right location, none of the people here didn't specify which line should I put. I'd had to dig in the older build file in order to find the right location.

I'm Having the same issue... once or twice the taskbar appeared correctly, but for the most times, is completly absent, and with that problem remix OS is useless.
I'm kinda new to this (Remix OS, rooting android, etc), but remix OS is a excellent option for those old notebooks and netbooks that suffer with Windows 8 and up, so i dont want to give up that easy.
I have a HP Mini with this hardware:
CPU: AMD A4-1200 APU with Radeon Graphics 1.00 Ghz
RAM 2.0 GB
Graphics: AMD A4-1200 APU with Radeon Graphics 1.00 Ghz
HDD: Harddrive with dual boot with windows 8.
Any clue of how to solve this? have you heard if there going to be an update that fix this anytime soon?
thanks in advance!

Looks like 2.0.402 Build has solved that problem.
Sadly, I cannot confirm it myself due to my broken laptop (typing it from my Phone as of this post)

CHROOT Lubuntu and Ubuntu 10.10

Hi
It's a thread which collects Ubuntu stuff for SGS2 and includes some of my mods.
The content is from or based on fire314's, JDouce's and zacthespack's work. And their work is based on other people's work, so thanks everybody
Why is it better, than the sources I used?
-it's up to date
-works
-smallest download size
-less space required on sd/internal storage
-very detailed instructions
Why to use Ubuntu on an Android phone?
Why to overclock?! Just because we can do it To show off
And you can use Chromium browser to browse the web, you can edit documents in Open/Libre Office, etc.

Download
I recommend this Lubuntu img, made by zacthespack, edited by me.
It's less than 500MB to download, 1800MB img file size on the phone, and sports LXDE (leightweight desktop):
Filehosting.org
Ubuntu One
Dropbox
Google docs
It is the necessery script to run Ununtu/Lubuntu, made by fire314:
ubi.sh
Ubuntu One
Dropbox
It is an Ubuntu img (Gnome desktop), made by JDouce, modded by me.
It's almost 1GB to download and 2,5 or 3GB (I don't remember) on the phone:
Depostie Files
Fileserve
Then, there is the one made by JDouce without any mod.
Almost 1,5GB to download in 2 parts, and 3,5GB (as I remember) on the phone:
Part 1
Part 2
The original from zacthespack:
Link to he's thread
He works on it, and uploads new versions, so no need to place a link for the file itself.
There are 2 versions now:
Ubuntu - 1,5GB to download and 3,5GB on phone
Lubuntu - 500MB to download and 2,5GB on phone
Instructions:
1. Choose one of the images (will add more later) and download it, and get the script aswell
2. Unzip ubuntu.img and copy it and ubi.sh to your sdcard or internal storage, both files to the same folder
3. Open a terminal emulator and type:
su
Accept root permission request if appears, then type:
cd (name of the place where the files are. Example: cd /sdcard)
You can check if the files are there by typing „ls”. If everything is fine, than type:
sh ubi.sh
like this:
and if everything is fine you get this:
4.Open a VNC client and fill out the following
password: ubuntu
address: localhost
port: 5900
set colors to 24bit
5. Hit Connect button
6. Now you should set the "mouse"
touch Menu button
Input mode
Touchpad
Turning it off:
In the VNC client:
touch Menu button
Disconnect
In the terminal emulator:
touch Menu button
Close window
accept it
You can add, delete programs in Synaptic.
If you want to start Lubuntu/Ubuntu anytime, just do the 3rd and 4th steps ; )
I didn't do much. I just made some small changes. All the credits go to zacthespack, JDouce and fire314.
I know, that JDouce has a thread, but he doesn't do much nowadays. He edited the OP more than 5 months ago. And I think it's such a fun, that it deserves some more attention.
Troubleshooting:
If it doesn't start after step 4, or your phone reboots after step 3:
change kernel!
Siyah 2.6.8 changelog:
-fixed the bug which prevented using ubuntu and was causing some random reboots...
so earlier versions doesn't work
If it starts, but the mouse pointer doesn't move:
check the step 6 in the OP
If you can't read or mount the sdcard/internal storeage after turning Ubuntu off:
reboot
Download links are up!
Let me know which one is the fastest and where would you like to see the next versions uploaded.
And if you have any question or suggestion, don't hold it back

I am looking for a way to get Asus Transformer Prime capable of developing Android Apps, so it might not just be funny, but also very useful
I did try to see if I could make my SGS2 dual boot, but it did not work for me so far. And I am not sure I would want this as the phones OS, although it is temping if it can also use one of those Android App players that seems to be in development. I am not sure if they are even trying to target Linux though.
But the possiblities of Linux on Android hardware is.... mindbogging

Android on tablet Trekstor Surftab Wintron 7.0

Hi everyone,
i have a Trekstor Surftab Wintron 7.0 which mounts an Intel Atom Z3735G and 1GB ram and runs Windows 10 Home 32bit. it works quite good for just 50€ that i spent to buy it, but i think that it can do more, specially because apps from the Microsoft Store are not so much, and using the tablet without the "tablet mode" is quite difficult because the screen is too small and buttons hard to press.
Standing at the specs I can see it has the same hardware of the Trekstor SurfTab xintron i 7.0, but it comes with Android on it.
What i want to do is to get the image of the internal flash of a Xintron and write it in my Wintron.
Thanks to xblax i have the following partitions img files in different files:
-boot
-bootloader
-fastboot
-oem
-recovery
-system
After many attemps i was able to boot the Ubuntu Live USB and using the DISK application, I formatted the disk according to the partition table always from xblax and i flashed the partitions IMG files.
Anyway now I am stuck because because the bootloadet.img seems to have a 64bit bootloader in it.
The Intel Atom Z3735G processor is 64bit, but I am pretty sure the UEFI is locked to boot only 32 bit systems.
any hint please?
Can anybody help me? I'm not a Linux expert, so I just want to know how to write an IMG partition taken from a device on another device (that is basically the same) and boot it.
I am pretty sure it could boot so i think i just need some basic info

i couldn't find it in Italy it seems to be available only in Germany, and my final objective is to have a dual boot Win10/Android
Have you tried Refind Boot manager?
Not yet, i'll give it a try and let you know
So, i tried the flashdrive IMG but in the boot menu I don't see any choice.
But after a few tries I found that if I rename the bootx64.efi file in bootia32.efi refind finds something

Yep!! I'm waiting for it!
Let's see if it will work!
Finally the Beta came, it looks great but... I am experiencing some hardware issues.
First of all the touchscreen. It works, but seems that it is not calibrated properly, making it impossible to use without a mouse. Than also the audio, Bluetooth, battery monitor and many other things are not working at all
I read that there should be the possibility to calibrate the touchscreen but I didn't find any solution...
Suggestions?
Hello Niddu,
I am also intersted in running android on the wintron 7.
Did yout get success in running the Xintron images on the Wintron, or have you got some other Solution?
Thanks and greetings from Germany.
Hi, unfortunately i had no clue because of my lack of knowledge in Linux.
Anyway I suggest you to spend some time on trying to make RemixOS Beta 32bit working.
I actually don't know how to compile a kernel, but if you can do it you can try to integrate the missing drivers.
With the official release the touch screen is working but is not calibrated properly and that's the main problem because without it you need to connect an external mouse/keyboard without the possibilty to keep the tablet in charge.
Anyway sound, bluetooth, battery management and power and volume keys are not working.
If somebody is able to make it work I'll be glad to help them!!
Now i had Success in running Android x86 4.4 on it.
The Touchscreen is working very well, but the three soft buttons for back home and recent are not working?
Bluetooth, adjust screen lightning and sound are not working
Great! Can you link the release are you using? If someone could explain how to add drivers to an existing android image that could be a good starting point!
I just tested the version that I guess you are using but I have the same result on the touch I had using remix OS.
I'll try to explain you better with images.
Keeping the tablet in portrait mode lets analyse first of all the Y axis.
Clicking on the upper part of the screen it results aligned on the 0 of the y axis.
But if I click in the lower part it not calibrated
Analysing the X, the left side of the screen is not really aligned
While on the right it is almost OK.
Last one is the "windows" key. When I press it, a touch is simulated on the screen in an area that is not covered by the touchscreen
Is there anyone able to guide me in the calibration of the screen?
Hello Niddu,
i used android-x86-4.4-r5 : ....android-x86.org/releases/releasenote-4-4-r5...
It themes that there are different Versions of the Tablet out there.
I have the ST70416-6 / Windows 10 Version.
When i start the Android Live image, the Calibration screen appeares automatically and after Calibration it workes like i saied befor.
I also have a ST70416-6 Win 10, but when i launch the live Image of the same version of your it does not ask me for touch calibration. Can you post me a picture of how this calibration is?
android on wintron 7.0
Hello guys, I also have a ST70416-6, trying to find a way to install android on it. Did u get lucky?
Thanks,

Trekstor Wintron 7 touchscreen driver
Hello everybody,
I had success building a touchscreen driver for the ST70416-6 version. The driver that is used in Android x86 is the gsl-firmware: github.com/onitake/gsl-firmware
I used the original driver from Trekstor (SileadTouch.fw) to build a Linux driver using the firmware tool:
./unscramble SileadTouch.fw firmware.fw
./fwtool -c firmware.fw -m 1680 -w 900 -h 600 -t 5 -f track silead_ts.fw.
After that I pasted the silead_ts.fw in system/lib/firmware in Android x86 that i have installed on my sdcard. Now the Touchscreen works quite good.
The Android x86 version I used is the latest android-x86_64-6.0-rc1.iso.
Unfortunately sound, battery, camera and bluetooth are still not working. The sound chip seems to be a ALC5642 which is still not supported by Linux.
The gyrosensor is working but the axis are inverted so that it is unusable. Has anyone an idea how to swap the axis of the gyro.
Link to firmware: dropbox.com/s/bce8bc6zu3gc0g4/silead_ts.fw?dl=0
Unfortunately I´m not allowed to post a link because I´m a new member , so you have to paste a http www before the two links.
Hello, im back
Sry for the long time, i got my second son and many, many positive trouble with family and so on
Sry nidu for not sharing that screenshots.
I tried Merlins guide to build an own driver and it is working.... thank you very much
I tried it with Android x86 6.0 rc and maybe with a very slow usb drive touch is working but all react very slow, i will try it with android 4.4 and other usb drive tomorrow.

Hi
I've managed to semi-boot 32bit on my old pc (the 64bit gives me kernel panic) but because of 'init: untracked pid xxxx killed by signal 9' and 'init: untracked pid xxxx exitedwith status 0' I cannot boot it into full working OS.

Any non-torrent downloads there?
I have tried to boot 64bit a number of times on my Fujitsu laptop. Fails every time. I'd love to give this a go. Any thoughts?
It's an Intel T5850 with 3 gb Ram. The only issue I can see is I'm trying to load via USB stick on a USB 2.0 port. This laptop does not have usb 3.0.
No, they´re separated cards, the wireless card is a Atheros.
I found a way to fix the wifi but i need to be root and there´s nothing to root it for the moment.
Other problem i found is the brightness, i cant change it with the fn fuction, but i can live without it jaja .

I was also having problems booting Remix OS 64bit. Kept getting Cannot detect the usb writing speed, few times got stuck on the checking data partition, nothing was working. I just tried the new 32bit version and it booted right up and its fast. matter fact I'm writing this on Remix OS. I;m loving it, it's quite cool to have.
Just a few questions.
1. I'm thinking about dual booting this with windows 10. should i just leave it on the USB Drive or make another partition and intstall it that way?
2. Can I intall the play store.
My PC specs
HP 2000
4gb ram
500gb HDD

[UPDATE] Remix OS for PC update 3.0.103

In keeping with our weekly update schedule, Remix OS for PC version 3.0.103 update is now available OTA.
Please use the 'System update' app found in your app drawer to initiate the update.
Release notes:
Remix OS for PC version: 3.0.103
Release date: August 9, 2016
Setup wizard now skips Wi-Fi connection step if LAN is connected
File Launcher now aligns icons to grid
GMS can now be activated during the setup wizard
Key-mapping tool now enabled by default
Fixed more Wi-Fi issues
Fixed App drawer crashing when ‘Search’ nets no results
Fixed wallpaper distortion
Important note:
If you have key-mapping tool and/or GMS disabled in version 3.0.102, updating to version 3.0.103 will cause problems if you want to activate these apps in 3.0.103.
If you plan to use these apps, we advise you first activate these apps while still running 3.0.102 before updating to version 3.0.103.
If you have no plans to use either of these apps, you don't need to do anything.
Thanks for the update. Please in next update, fix Video playback issues.

any otherway to update?

Wi-Fi doesn't connect reliable
I am working with version 3.0.103 32bit on a Lenovo T400. Remix OS has been installed on a partition of the hard drive (boot option INSTALL=1). After starting Remix OS in most cases the Wi-Fi is not connected automatically, as long as the "Wi-Fi" pop-up window is not opened yet. After opening the Wi-Fi pop-up window Wi-Fi is connected automatically a few seconds later. So it's not a big problem, just not comfortable.

The update of an "INSTALL=1" installation is described here .
In order to perform the update you need to start a Linux operating system using a pendrive (e.g. PartedMagic), in order to rename the basic directory from /android-2016-08-03/ to /android-2016-08-08/ and in order to delete all directories within the basic directory other than /android-08-08/data.
After this step you can perform a normal installation (INSTALL=1), but you must not format your partition sda2 because you want to keep your data.
Ahh... i still cant boot / install on Chuwi Vi10 Pro. I stuck here again:

For some reason, I got again the error with the Playstore and the communication problems with the google service. Did I do anything wron, during the install process? I did a clean install and chose to go with the GSM in the wizard.

Did you remember immediately to reboot after using the GSM wizard? If you try to use the Playstore without rebooting first then it won't work.

How did the install go? I'm trying to get some feedback vs ROC version which is the same concept just put together a little different. Trying to narrow down some booting issues on various pc setups vs stock working. Thanks

then run sh flash-script.sh

Well if I try that then it gives me: no such file or directory edit: now it worked, u typed an . Instead of an /
Termux now gave me: can't create '/system/Xposed.prop': file already exists
Also I am using UEFI
Giving this a shot now. Will update.
Are you planning on maintaining this with OTA updates?
Edit: Awesome. I have Remix OS x64 with R/W and Xposed. Worked great, PizzaG. Many thanks!
Time to AdBlock the crap out of everything.

Awesome. One thing to note, I could not get SuperSu to open at all while in DEBUG mode. I ended up booting normal Remix OS and enabling the debug console and doing it this way. Just a heads up!

Also, like I previously stated... If you also have another operating system installed (I have Windows 10 Pro x64) you can modify a few things about the new bootup process. Wherever you installed Remix OS (I've installed it to a seperate partition, so for me it is E:/), go there.
- Open the Remix OS folder
- Find "menu.lst" and open it with Notepad++
- Delete the entry for Remix OS DEBUG. Delete the whole entry
- Change "timeout" from '10' to '0'
- Save the file
It will look very similar to this:
Code:
default 0
timeout 0
title Resident mode - RW enabled
find --set-root /RemixOS/kernel
kernel /RemixOS/kernel root=/dev/ram0 androidboot.hardware=remix_x86_x64 androidboot.selinux=permissive quiet SERIAL=random logo.showlogo=1 SRC=RemixOS/ REMOUNT_RW=1 DATA= CREATE_DATA_IMG=1
initrd /RemixOS/initrd.img
boot
What this will do is remove the entry for Remix OS DEBUG -- INSTALL XPOSED, force standard rooted/xposed Remix OS to boot automatically, and remove the 10 second timeout before the Remix OS selection allowing Remix to boot automatically after selecting it in the Windows bootloader. For advanced users, this can be accomplised in the Remix OS/Remix OS DEBUG selection screen also, by pressing Escape to enter the selection screen, "e" to edit lists, and following the on-screen instructions for deleting selections and saving.
Hope this helps!
Worked perfectly, thanks my friend.
