Bootloader Unlock - Verizon LG V10

Hello,
I have been trying to research how bootloaders get unlocked without manufacturer help and not coming up with many results. I want to learn how to root and unlock bootloaders and create recoveries and everything to help out accessing and customizing devices, but trying to find things to read and learn about those topics hasn't turned up much helpful threads or info at all, if anyone could direct me to where I could learn how to do all those things that'd be awesome! Also, thinking about bootloader for vs990, could we not just take an unlocked t-mobile bootloader and customize to the correct paths and values for vs990? What about the kdz file, can that be used to modify the boot security and unlock the bootloader or not? Thanks for the info and your time in advanced!

That method doesn't work on vs990, Verizon locked it down so when you try to get to bootloader even through adb reboot bootloader it just reboots to the system. No fastboot commands possible.

Damn, looking at buying a V10 now that it has root, but a locked bootloader equals an unhappy phone.

Well we did just get root a week ago... So don't give up hope just yet, give it a little more time and hopefully they'll crack through the security or overwrite the boot partition all together or something so we can get custom roms.

As of 3/24/2016, they have not unlocked the bootloader nor made any recovery system for the LG V10.

Sadly. That's why I was hoping for someone to know of some resource I could use to learn how to crack the bootloader to unlock it and to get twrp up and running on v10. There is an unofficial twrp for t-mobile v10.

More power to you. Best option right now is to write Verizon a crap ton of letters and see if they'll unlock the bootloader.

Best bet is to buy a tmobile V10

[Q] How to unlock bootloader on excatly this phone?

Hello guys,
I tried to unlock my bootloader a few weeks ago and it was horrible, so i sent it to service and they sent me a brand new phone. But i want to unlock bootloader and i don't know what files use excatly on this model. Can you help me?
Sys. info : ver.: 45.31.20.MB860.Vodafone.en.EU
Android stock 2.3.4
build num.: 4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.20
root: yes
unlocked bootloader: no
What exactly is so confusing here?
Clearly you need to use the ihop version. The rest of the process is the same for every Atrix out there.

Ok, but can you tell me what for files to use...sites pls  ...because, last time I trie, it failed and i needed to send my phone to service...
Thanks
Guide
IHOP bootloader
Unlocking the bootloader doesn't always work (depends on the device and some other things), but I can't imagine a situation where a failed unlock would require taking the phone to the service center...
Ok, i'll try it tomorrow thanks....but when it fails ? ...last time it said me "failed to boot 2" ...
Did you actually read the whole procedure? Because it doesn't seem like you did.
Yes, I did....then i tried to search far on the google and i found that i am not alone with thi problem. Many people is saying, that is unable to unlock this bootloader...:/
http://mobility.forumsee.com/a/m/s/p12-9847-0229151--atrix-bootloader-unable-unlock.html
"Failed to boot" is a perfectly normal and expected part of the unlock process and everyone gets it. All you have to do is boot into fastboot mode and flash a custom recovery, then use that to flash a ROM. I don't know why you went to Google, literally all you need is here on XDA.
I used this guide to unlock 4 Atrix boot-loader so far including my own http://atrix4ghacks.com/atrix-4g-hacks/how-to-unlock-bootloader-and-install-permanent-recovery/
Ok, I will try it now ....
EDIT: it still gives me that OEM unlock is not implemented...
Either you didn't flash the IHOP SBF correctly, or you have one of those newer Atrixes that cannot be unlocked.

Lol, is that true?
When i tried to flash the sbf file, i was getting an error...Phone did not re-enumerate after RAM-downloader was sent.
EDIT: I used this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302423

Yup, after 2012 I think, atrixes' bootloaders can't be unlocked
And, is there any chance, that I can unlock it, or in some service?

But motorola atrix 4g isn't supported :/
The only thing you can do is join the crowd of people who have the same problem which has yet to be solved. There is nothing you can do right now to unlock your device.
I know that pain.. I am an Atrix owner too, who owns a newer one..
I don't think that we will see them unlocked, because a lot of devs already moved on and there are now just a few Atrix owners..

[Q] Rooting Question.

Is it possible to root the ultra without unlocking the bootloader? I'm not familiar with Sony, I haven't used a Sony phone since Xperia play. Or do I need to do the unlock method first?
Thanks in advance.

Read my friend read. There are multiple threads with the instructions on getting root with a locked bootloader. but life is so much easier with it unlocked.

I'll come over to your house and we'll get it rooted. Just joking and I must say there is a lot of outdated info even in the stickies. It took me a lot longer than it should to figure out what was currently correct.

Root for h-900?

It would be nice for root for AT&T v10 ? it shouldn't be difficult since other variants already rooted. If someone can make it I would appreciate it. All I want us root I don't care for rooms or kernels just root.
huh? Am I missing something? I thought only V10 variant that can be rooted was t-mobile, and all other variants cannot be rooted at this point.

Umm why not? It doesn't have a locked bootloader like Samsung does. I'm sure there is an exploit for it, if I had the know how I'd do it myself. As a matter of fact you can oem unlock it in settings yourself.

Is it possible to use the official unlock bootloader for H860?!

I have been surfing the web for couple of days to find a way to unlock the bootloader for LG G5 H860, but i couldnt find any thing
could any one help me with that ?
not possible. H850 EU only... as stated on the official site as well as the XDA G5 thread for bootloader unlocking.
To expand on what @autoprime said, at the moment, the only model that can have the bootloader unlocked is the H850.

probably not YET possible. We still have to wait for someone to discover an exploit. Non-unlockable bootloader doesn't necessarily mean no root forever, there are billions of ways out there to do it, but no one has found it yet for our variant. I remember rooting my Xperia Acro S without unlocking it (even though it was possible at that time). I love the phone anyway, even without root.

I've graduated to the G5 from the G3, the bootloader for which was locked down tight by LG. The geniuses working on the G3 developed an exploit called Bump! that let users flash ROMs on the G3 despite its locked bootloader. It would be nice if something equivalent could be developed for the G5.

Installing a custom recovery and ROM without unlocking bootloader? [E2303]

Hello people from XDA!
From what I have read time and time again while looking for a way to change my Bootloader unlock allowed:NO to YES, there should be a way to install a custom ROM and recovery without unlocking my bootloader (since it's apparently impossible to unlock it). And if there is a way, please let me know.
Additional information:
My device is rooted (Kingoroot)
I'd really apperciate some "light" on the subject. I've searched for weeks and there seem to be absolutely no threads regarding the subject, although there are people claiming they have done it.
Thanks in advance.
What Android version is your phone running? 5 or 6?
5; 6.0 hasn't been released in my region (Latin America)??

Find and activate OEM unlocking within the developer option in the settings menu. It may or may not work - but its worth a shot.
