This is a link to the General GS7 forum thread.
I think, because the Sprint variant will probably not be rooted,
this info could be valuable to Sprint users specifically,
And, probably should be sticky'd, to keep at top of the Sprint forum.

It's up on the at&t website

Now that at&t has gotten around to putting the note up on their website, how about we start flooding their site with reviews? I already posted one.
As usual, when you go to the at&t site, and go to smartphones, their NEWEST device is listed LAST on the page...can't have anything upstage the iJunk I guess.
Moved To ATT Note General
We now have a forum for the ATT note. Please post relevant questions there

[Q] Will the US variants keep the same button configuration?

I am curious if the US variants (AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon) will keep the 3 button configuration. Yes the previous iterations have not, but seeing that change in button placement I strongly believe there is a chance (I hope) for the US variant to keep that streamlined look I currently love on the SGS3. The Japanese LTE version is the same as the Europe version.
i hope they looked just like the intl version
Questions go in the Q&A forum.
Thread moved.
Mark.
From what I understand (and it makes sense; why bother otherwise) the buttons were changed due to stupid US patents. So there's reason to believe they'll continue to do so.

Dev Edition!

I ordered a HCT One Dev Edition and was wondering about where to go to flash roms and for support. I'm with at&t, but since the phone is the Dev Edition I was wondering if I need to stick here or I should go to the forum without a specific carrier?
For now the none carrier specific forum. The devices are almost identical in hardware. So until the at&t branded is rooted that's were i would suggest getting roms because there wont be any here to speak of.
If I'm wrong please correct me but I'm pretty sure this is correct.

There is no "proper" forum since all of the devices are basically identical in hardware. In the AT&T "Development" forums you'll probably find ROMs based off of the AT&T firmware, complete with options for the carrier bloatware to be installed. To avoid that all together I would personally stick with the international (non-branded) forums. Eventually when the "Original Development" forums pick up then there won't be much of a difference. Until the developer edition ships to the U.S. customers, or until the bootloader is unlocked on the AT&T devices, I don't think we will see many ROMs being developed. By that time it will become a bit easier to navigate as the forums begin to blossom.
There is talk of combining the One boards into a single forum, which would really help to clarify the confusion I really hope they do that.

Root for sprint?

Does anyone know if there's anyone working on root for this phone? I know the bootloaders are locked, am just curious!
Thanks!
There is a bounty thread in the main S8/S8+ forums that are not carrier specific since all the US models appear to be the same bootloader and software wise minus some small irrelevant to root differences.
The bounty thread for the U.S. S8/S8+. It may be for other carriers, but I am not sure.
Thanks dudes hadn't seen that thread!

Changing Carriers

I go through numbers and carriers like they are disposable. Many because they are. But I do hate using new numbers. For some reason I find great pleasure in destroying electronic devices because all of my pleas for them to work as they should and they never do lol. Enough of my rant. Here is my question.
I want to switch the carrier device which is a Metro A12 Samsung that I have had for awhile. I stopped using the service shortly after I got it because my T-Mobile service was and is much cheaper. I can't unlock the A12 because I didn't use the Metro service long enough.
So I need to unlock my Metro A12 Samsung to use with my T-Mobile SIM with it. I think the easiest way around the problem is to change my IMEI #. Which I have. But have no idea of how to unlock it myself. Any ideas, apps, software, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
As I stated Metro will not unlock the phone because I only used it for a month and kept it as a backup for my T-Mobile account. Even though T-Mobile owns Metro switching SIMS does not work. I know there are apps and websites out there that state they can change the IMEI number for a charge$. But I am sure if they can really do it, with a little help I can do it myself for free...
Thx for the time
