Display Options - Remix OS for PC

Hi everyone,
I recently installed Remix on my laptop, and I'm loving it so far. I do have several issues though, mostly regarding my display.
In display settings, when I set the "Sleep" option to "Never", the screen goes very dim after about 15 seconds of inactivity. It doesn't brighten again when you tap the screen or type on the keyboard. The only way to brighten it again is to use the brightness keys to turn the brightness down, then turn it up again.
Also, when my computer goes to sleep, when I wake it up again, the screen is off and it is totally unresponsive, even though the power light is on. The only way to get it to respond is to force it to shut down, and then power it on again.
Any advice on how to fix either of these two problems would be greatly appreciated! :good:
Thank you!
Kpenguin

You may try pressing the power button briefly a second time. This works for me to bring back the display responsiveness.
Best, maris

This doesn't seem to work for me.

Same issue here with the auto dim feature even when disabled.

This dim issue was solved by setting sleep after duration to 30 minutes.

[Q] Screen on/off lag

I'm using CM7 with Imoseyon's leanKernel in battsaver mode. When I press the power button, the screen lags to turn on/off. Sometimes when I press the button to turn the screen on, it lags so much that it times out before I unlock it and turns off again.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Check your min clock speed in your settings. If it is at 245, your phone may be a bit slow to come back to "life" (on any custom rom). I use Bamf and noticed the same thing. Set my min to 345 and don't have the issue anymore.
You said you are using battery saver mode. That mode by nature is going to undervolt and conserve as much power as possible. It's kinda like when your computer comes up outta sleep. Doesn't take as long as a complete reboot, but does take longer than if the screen just shut off.
Your mileage may vary.
Ahh thanks a lot. Seems that did the trick.

[Q] The screen doesn't turn on

I have found a tricky bug and I can't find any solution for it. I have installed the last version of UltraToxic ROM 8.0 XWKK5 and now sometimes my phone doesn't turn on screen after automatic screen turn off. The phone is continuing to work, for example it accept incoming calls, but it doesn't react on any try to activate the screen - no reactions on "power button" and any taps on the screen or others hardware buttons. The screen will turn on only after reboot by long press on power button.
Before phone was just "rooted".
Do you have set cpu installed with a very low figure for your screen off power? I had this problem in an old rom I was running

No, I have not setCPU installed. But I just installed CPU tuner and adjust the "screen off power" to min 500MHz, max 800MHz.
I hope this will solve my problem.
Thank you.

Resuming from Standby on a Sony VAIO Flip 13a

Hi,
Remix OS installation was fine for me but I am having another issue. When I resume from Standby the laptop screen either stays blank or starts to flicker with the Remix OS desktop. If I press the power button again then the "Standby, Reboot, Shutdown" buttons and I am able to do so.
So in my mind at least the laptop did not freeze and only the screen is not displaying after Standby
Thanks for your help
Dont let it go to standby. Use "Any Screen Timeout" and set it to infinite.

my laptop/PC is very dim

I boot into remix OS beta version which I have successfully installed on my hard drive. Before it takes me to the others OS platform or where remix OS logo is, the brightness dims and i've set the sleep and sleep time to 15 seconds and I press on the power button and it turns on then is bright for about five seconds and during that five seconds the the keyboard doesn't work as I have set a password on it. However after the five seconds to eight seconds the brightness dims down and the keyboard becomes functional again. So please help me out is there anywhere I could fix this problem please it's really annoying me??????

Fusion5 108 tablet screen not turning on

I bought one of these £105 10.6-inch tablets on Amazon last month, on the recommendation of my nephew who already owned one. I've been really impressed by the performance (octacore with 2GB RAM), but it frequently won't wake from sleep when I press the power button (i.e. the screen won't turn on). I need to do a hard reset by pressing the power button for 15 seconds to restore it. This happens even when the tablet has 100% charge and is connected to a charger. I was sent a replacement unit and the replacement has exactly the same problem. I notice that, when it does work properly, when I press the power button there is a delay of a fraction of a second and then a clicking sound when the screen turns on, which seems unusual.
I was wondering whether the number of widgets on my homescreens may be causing a problem for it - I have BBC news, Gmail and BBC Weather widgets on my main homescreen, and 2 Pure Calendar widgets on another launcher screen. Does anyone know if this might cause problems for the processor?

I have done just like you....!!And realized the 2 by ram and octacore are actually much weaker than advertised! Don't be fooled by the 8 cores... It's actually crap. And the ram is too low and gets the tablet to freeze. The tablet is good for single tasks, but can't handle multi tasking . Close apps processes you don't use. Also....
I have removed all widgets and my performance has dramatically increased. I'd advice you to do the same.
