SteelSeries - Stratus XL Gaming Controller for Android and Windows
It is $59.99 but works perfectly and is officially supported for Gear VR.
It does take AA batteries, and each set is supposed to last 40 hours.
I like this as it sucks to have to recharge a controller mid game, swapping batteries is much easier and quicker.
Just get some rechargeables.

Should I get a TP

So I've been wanting a tablet for a while and I missed the chance to get a TP when the fire sale happened. My dad just bought a Transformer Prime and that's pretty sweet but I don't want to shell out $600. So is this a good buy? Is it worth the $250-$300?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA
Well, ask yourself this. Do you not want ANY issues? If so then no it's not worth it. I enjoy mine very much, but I have pretty much made the issues with the TP part of my normal usage routine. Like when it dies ( uh oh, sometimes doesn't like to come back on for a while), or when I reboot I have to re setup my wifi network and sometimes it just decides it doesn't want to do the whole auto rotate for me. However the apps run smooth, sound is great ( when the screen is on lol ). Downloading games no problem ( just once again don't let the screen shut off while its downloading sd files ). Oh and no camera unless in webos. So here is my last piece to help u with.
New android tab: 399-700ish
New tp 32gb: about 300
pros: nice size display, bright, loud, very smooth, decent batt life, can connect to many peripherals: wii remote, ps3 controller, mouse, keyboard, etc...
cons: camera only on front, issues with rom i posted up top, no external memory
hope this helps some
I have had my touch pad for almost 2 months, with cm on it for almost as long. The ONLY problem I've had with it is the camera not working.
I've had none of the problems the above user has. Works great, and is only getting better. And $299 is a bit steep. My 32 gig with case and speed charger was $225 shipped
So if I could buy one around $200 with accessories its a good deal?

Good luck getting a 32 with accessories for $200. I'm letting one of mine go for $280 plus shipping with touchstone and keyboard. But mine has carbon fiber wrap and two used cases. Still thinking about listing on eBay cause it should fetch $300 easy cause the wrap got put on right after open so its about as new looking as possible.

Im a noob (first android rooted phone in november) and i love my $180 16gb TP. Im running 30-31 AOKP and the ONLY issues are front camera and having to turn on and off the wifi (quick settings double tap) when coming out of sleep or switching locations.
For the price the only other options are the kindle fire and nook. and those dont support HD video or even ui hardware acceleration. You would have to spend $300 for a used/reconditioned true ICS tablet with the same features and battery life.
The TouchPad is awesome in my opinion. No real issues running android except the camera and microphone, but that could come to us down the road. Everything else runs well. If you havent used webOS, you may even like that OS better. The ONLY downside to webOS is the lack of apps. But if you dont even use that many apps, you wont even notice. Running both operating systems at the same time is nice.
As far as pricing, a 16gb version, you might be able to get for $200 with one or two of the following: case, wall charger, screen protectors. Add a touchstone charger to it and it will be maybe $50 more. If you get a 32GB version, add another $30 or so. I got my 32 GB TouchPad for $230 off of ebay and it came with a case and wall charger. I'm planning on getting a touchstone charger eventually.

Have you even seen it and know what it does? Its a charger that sits on a table/desk/whatever, and you just sit your Touchpad on it and it charges. No plugging in cables to charge. It also acts as an adjustable stand. This is one of the best accessories Palm started with their webOS phones. I loved the Touchstone for the Palm Pre Plus. Can't wait to use one with my TouchPad.

Is it a 16 gig or 32 gig? A 16 gig is a good deal, a 32 gig is a great deal! I recently got a 32 gig for 200 with case and touchstone dock.
$200-250 seems to be price point for a 32GB model.
Ha got my 32gb model for 160 on Craigslist with no problems :-D
I'm living on a yellow submarine
I was browsing ebay last week and it seems that the 32 gig is selling for the same price or cheaper than the 16 gig. I was kind of surprised tbh.
I just got a 32gb off Craigslist for 175 with a case. Its brand spanking new barley used. Soon as cm9 is fixed it will be amazing

I honestly don't think any model of TP is worth over $200 used. Considering the plethora of tablets that are coming out in coming months at increasingly reduced prices, the TP is moving the way of the dinosaur quickly.

Not even close to becoming a dinosaur. The touchpad runs as good if not better then those that have ics on them for a fraction of the price. $200 for a dual boot tablet if a fantastic deal.

[Poll] Anker Extended Battery for Samsung Exhibit II 4G?

I'm currently a product tester for LaptopMate/Anker Power, and I just thought that if I could get enough people to want to buy an extended battery for their Samsung Exhibit II 4G, I could suggest them to make some. Between buying iPod cases, screen protectors, an extended battery for my PSP-1000, and some hazardous Xbox accessories I've had my fair share of bad experiences with third party products. I'd rather pay a bit more for something that works right than be cheap.

I think China, the employee I'm talking with is in China. I bought a 10000mAh external power bank from them; it's working great, so quality is not an issue at all.

Good but not too expensive Gamepad controller?

Hi guys.
as christmas is approaching i need to give my wife an idea what to get me so i thought about a new gamepad controller for my new note 3.
i have read generally positive reviews regarding MOGA and can see they have just released their power versions but they are expensive.
i thought about using a ps3 controller but i havent yet rooted the note 3 and dont plan to for a few months at least.
any suggestions are welcome.
I have the Moga Pro, and I like it pretty well. It works pretty well out of the box, and works as a HID controller too. I got mine at BestBuy for $40 when they had them on sale/clearance.
Pros:
- Solid quality: Doesn't feel as good as an OEM Xbox controller, but easily as good as any third party console controller.
- Rechargeable: Doesn't need disposable batteries.
- The phone holder fits even my Note 3 in a case!
- Probably has the best compatibility of any controller.
- Pairing is easy.
- Decent (but not great) Dpad.
- Analog sticks are solid, though slightly higher resistance would be better.
Cons:
- Big and bulky: Can't really carry it in my purse -_-
- Doesn't fit a very thick case (my case has a SlingGrip on it, and that makes it too thick)
- Probably not folio case friendly.
Skip the moga and get the moga pro at minimum. The moga hero power is awesome too but probably well out of your wanted budget.

I have a PS3, so I always use PS3 controllers with my Android devices. I just had to spend $20 on a GameKlip, $5 on a generic ebay case to tape to the GameKlip, then I was set! Makes it similar to playing the Nvidia Shield, except I have a .7" bigger display, 1080p instead of 720p, using a controller that I'm comfortable with and like the layout of, PLUS I can make phone calls and send texts with my setup!
If you like the button layout and already have a PS3 controller, then just get a GameKlip and cheap case. Since you're a member on XDA, I'm assuming you plan to root anyway. It really is a great setup! My Note 3 is the 3rd phone that I've used with this same GameKlip too, so it's very durable.

PS3 a good option if you are a Root user, for sure. I've used it a lot over the last couple of years.
These days I'm just tending to use the Moga Pro (just ordered the new Power one), excellent if Root is not an option/not always an option.
cheers guys.
at some point i will root but not yet.
i saw they had released the moga power series. apart from size and design, are there any other differences between the hero power and pro power? such as compatibility differences, better/newer spec bluetooth on one or the other or anything like that. if not i wouldnt see much reason to spend the extra for the pro over the hero.
You should be good with the regular pro I think. The moga hero power is pretty good though but pricey. I don't see any reason to get the power pro unless you have money to blow and/or want the bigger battery. The 1800mah should be plenty in the moga hero. I say get the pro or wait for the hero to go on sale.
sent from my sm-9005.
Main advantage of the new Power one is that it can charge the phone from the controller while you play, which solves one of the major difficulties of on the go gaming on your phone.
Lol. The battery is much bigger in note3 than the 1800/2200mah batteries of the new power controllers. And they only output 460mah, maybe 500 not sure as I haven't checked. Maybe it worth it if you game heavily but then you probably run into dead controller.

as mentioned though, for now at least, i wont be rooting. i'll wait 6 months until three uk's warranty period is over but also there may be root methods that are easier/wont effect flash counter/will work with the bootloader i'm now on that is apparently harder to root on (mj6).
the hero power did peak my interest and as long as it is the same internally to the pro apart from the battery size, i think i'd be happy with that.
any others worth noting at all?
thanks again.

i think you should get the regular pro or the hero power. i don't know battery size of the pro, and i don't think it's like regular moga with interchangeable which would've been preferable to me. the pro would be for the more serious gamer that needs better analog stick and something to grab. the hero power is for someone like me who used to be a hardcore gamer but is stuck in between casual and hardcore. do note that the hero power and power pro have two extra shoulder buttons and the analog stick have L3/R3 function which might be useful. and of course it's obvious the power pro has the serious analog sticks. really it comes down to price for you and you should be able to score the moga pro for $30-40 easily now. the hero power just came out and i'm sure it'll be a month or two before you see sub $50.

btw, enjoying my hero power a lot. works great for rpg's. haven't played a fps yet, but i'm sure it'll "get by". mike tyson's punch is challenging with the buttons being close together but i've started to acclimate to it. things are geting better.
PS3 controller really is the best because its comfortable and loads more versatile.
The downside?
Its bulky. Not really pocketable... but is decent enough to throw in a purse, a bag, or just in your car.
But why stop there?
Get the Datel TurboFire 2. Its rare but worth it. Its basically a DualShock3 controller (works with PS3, Sixaxis App, and PC's... they think its a PS3 controller) but its bigger so its more comfortable. Its got some grippy contours (meh). And its got a Turbo function.
Basically those games/apps that require you to spam a certain button many times... you can cheat through them by just holding a button while the controller imitates a constant really fast button pushing. Since its larger than DS3, its a little more bulky.... but I love mine.
(especially when converting a sniper into an assault rifle on Battlefield or Call of Duty)
He doesnt want to root his phone so ps3 controller is out of the question. The ps3 is a good option but uses MINI not micro USB, is bulky, gotta pay for the sixaxis app, battery life is not as good as moga, doesnt support hid. The upside to it though is the awesome mapping profiles for touch only games. That can't be beat. I haven't looked but hoping to find an app that does similar mapping profiles with moga controllers.

i sent an email to Moga to see when the hero power would be available in the uk and they said for now it was only the US.
now i dont know whether to wait or look elsewhere.

I know those are too expensive for what you actually said but I got them 2 weeks ago and I'm simply blown away. They sound just like they would've cost at least double the price they are sold by Amazon They are chargable via Micro-USB. 1 Full charge lasts for about 1 week with approx. 2h of use daily.

I bought LG-Tone+ 700. I like them alot but they won't be 20 or 30 bucks US. I assume probably Close to 40 or 50. I got mine from Amazon but since I live in Europe, they cost me 55 euros. Best Investment because I've bought 100 Dollar wired headphones that aren't as good as these.
+1 on the LG tone, on sale you can get them for slightly under 40. Haven't had to buy new headphones for over a year now with these things because there aren't any wires to get messed up with prolonged use. Went through so many pairs of headphones where it broke near the 3mm jack. No more problems

I have owned the Lg hbs700 and the 730. Both are excellent bluetooth headphones for the price. I recently purchased a pair of Arctic p311's because I had a $30 giftcard to Tiger Direct and could not find anything else that I wanted from them. I have to say that I am absolutely blown away from the sound that these produce for under $30.
I have a pretty big head and although they don't look like they would be comfortable, they very much are! They also stay in place if you want to use them in the gym. The Lg models always slip off when laying down to do bench pressing.

People are offering what they can. How about a thanks to everyone who DID suggest something. Next time, instead of the nasty response, maybe saying, "thanks" would be more in order. Perhaps NO response would have been better.

It was your response that led me to respond as I did. If you don't appreciate the help you get, don't ask for help at all. People are doing it because they are trying to be HELPFUL. Ignore what doesn't work for you by $20 or so (and, you get what you pay for), and instead look at the cheaper suggestions. Posting a snarky comment about people not reading your EXACT parameters and posting what they did is honestly, NOT going to engender people from helping next time.

Here are some pictures and mini-review I have for the Arctic P311.

Kinivio makes a great affordable headphone
I was notified of this set on slickdeals last week from Newegg.com for 20 bucks, they are fantastic, comfortable and have a great battery life. Right now they are 30 bucks. So I ordered one and lo and behold I open the package yesterday, guess what...Newegg accidentally sent me 2 lmao! Scooore! Seriously though they sound way better than my cheapo pair of insignia before, plus those had the mesh part of the earpiece breakoff and they were just uncomfortable as all hell to wear. These Kinivios have padding instead, very comfortable.

$50 G Watch

I think I might have to join the club for $50: http://www.verizonwireless.com/accessories/lg-g-watch/?null
Interesting discussion (this is where I saw it) - includes a reference to saving another 30%: http://slickdeals.net/f/8082036-lg-...cashback-with-shopdiscover?v=1&src=SiteSearch

I'm REALLY interested if you actually want to sell your g watch for $30.
Keep an eye out on eBay they pop up all the time starting around $50
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Free mobile app
I got mine from CowBoom (Best Buy resell site) for $35. It was refurbished but looked 100% new. Had the protective stickers on it and everything. Be careful because some do not include the charger (you can't charge it without the magnetic docking stand).
Update:
They are $59 right now on CowBoom (used). They have lots of them and lots with chargers.
I have just visited the site. It is showing 78% off. Seems to me a great offer for Smartwatch lover. My question is how can they give a smart watch is such a low price? Is there any difference in performance of these smart watch?
I got one for $59 on BuyDig. I had a Moto 360 for a couple of weeks last year, but returned it to Costco. Cool devices, just not $290 cool. The only things I've noticed so far that are lacking compared to the 360 are the heart rate monitor and ambient light sensor. Oh and its much uglier.
Battery life seems to have come a long way in Android Wear since I last had the 360. I would never run out at the end of the day, but it would come close. With the G Watch I can easily get 2 days with screen on at all times. I had the screen turn off when inactive on the 360.
Yes agreed. My battery last plenty long. I went on a 3 day business trip without the charger and had 12% on the 3rd day when I woke up.
People ask me about it all the time and how I like it. I am definitely sold on owning a watch. But they aren't worth more than $100. I can't recommend buying one unless you intend to use it work work or high volume of notifications.
Lots of apps are coming around though. I had a 10 hour drive and found Pandora updated to Android Wear. It was super nice to be able to skip tracks from the watch
For those who wonder why the LG G Watch is so cheap in the second hand market, I think it's because it was bundled with the LG G3 in many countries. So many people had it "for free" and sold it for cheap on internet. I'm even considering buying another one because the charging pin on mine are quite corroded.
Amazon has it for around $80, which compared to the Moto 360 isn't that expensive .

Ya, amazon has the white version more expensive than the black version for some reason,
There are pics posted to sand the black finish off. I liked the black finish.
If anyone wants to sell theirs.... I'll buy
theres a promotion here in mexico, they are selling at $50 usd, im planing to buy the white one and put another metal strap with silver and golden accents.
in europe a new g watch edition called g watch buddy apeared ,it has a leather strap, the same as the urbane, but it cost an insanely low price.
it can be found around 60 to 70 bucks new without any contract or thing like that.
