What is XOSP and how was it born?
XOSP basically which stands for the Xperia Open Source Project was a project originally created by me for the Galaxy S+ (my old device) and the project was created like 2 years ago when that time XOSP wasn't even existing. It was just S+ Reborn. The main idea was to create a custom minimal Xperia based ROM, by including the essential things which a user would normal use from a ROM.
The S+ Reborn became to be a big success because it was eventually ported on different Xperia Phones and some other Samsung devices and from there the XOSP project was founded. From the XOSP Project also the Reborn addons were created featuring with an Aroma Installer. I worked on the project for 2 years by trying always to improve it constantly, eventually for the fact that LP on my Galaxy S+ became to be quite buggy i decided to stop the development and for about half of year the project was left in stanby till i decided to bring it back again on the Zenfone 2 devices. The ROM will now also feature a White Indigo theme for all the ROM (framework, Settings and so on) and of course the newest Xperia Applications ported from the SystemDumps provided by the Sony community.
The project started growing again so with the Release 4 the project will be completely refactored to XOSP.
Revisions and Releases
I've got a different type of releasing, i will not provide weekly builds but just let me show you how the revisions and release type works: The revisions refers like to a sort of Nightly thing i mean the changes included in the ROM are small not as a Release one. All the releases got 5 revisions. So the Release is something even bigger right? Hell yeah! When a new Release is released expect many improvements or new features

20 Mar 2016:
Changelog for XOSP V5.1
None
From XOSP v5.1, XOSP apps are included in the ROM zip. So no need to flash XOSP Apps separately. And 5.1 is a major update with a lot of features added and changed system ui, so a clean flash is recommended. Custom kernels with a permissive selinux will work, flashing one with enforcing will give you a bootloop.
First time installing XOSP based to your phone, or coming from another ROM?
Make sure your Bootloader is unlocked and you're running the latest TWRP
Download latest build and latest GApps (Open pico gapps recommended)
Reboot recovery
Wipe data factory reset
Flash latest XOSP
Flash GApps
Reboot and profit! (First boot takes time and boot animation is a bit scary, don't worry it's not a boot loop )
Upgrading from earlier release or revision of XOSP:
Download latest build and latest GApps
Reboot recovery
Flash latest XOSP
Flash GApps
Wipe cache and dalvik
Reboot and profit!
Join our community on G+ !
Compile XOSP for your device

How to show your appreciation to the developer..
There are many ways to support the developer like

Taken from here.

Funny. I was going to start working on this layer this week. Great work

15 minutes since the bootanimation started. I know you mentioned that first boot takes time but this seems to be boot loop.

Good Morning,
confirm the bootloop. Waiting over 20 minutes and nothing happens. Back to Mokee.
greetings

Good work mate, i hope u tested it before posting!

Well that's really interesting, ROM released without testing, without credits and without ROM and device sources.
Please do all these things or i will report it!

not booting tried 2 times and wiped data, cache, dalvik, system before flashing still not booting

Yup. Looks like a hoax.

This thread is lacking Kernel Sources under GPL as well as XDA Rules. In addition it is clear it is not ready for primetime as yet.

Hey Sumitra,
I would like to suggest one thing Brother.
Please stay away from the BLIND BUILDS.
If you own the device then test it on your own device and then release in the Community, or else our community will lack good mature stuffs around.
Don't release any build unless you have tested by yourself or by your testers.
Hope you understand.
Thank you

nice rom . i flash . thans.
Amazing rom!
this rom is amazing! good battery life with elementalx, quick, beautiful with the minimumm customization, and also the notif badge on apps! but if i may suggest maybe add the notif badge to support other apps too, in mine it only shows on whatsapp. the perfect example would be tesla unread by nova, that is good overall i love this rom and keep up the good work sir!
Nice work,
I am so happy right now! I used your rom on my old S+ for a very long time as my daily driver. It was thanks to guys like you that i was able to have my S+ for such a long time without it being to slow for daily useage. And your rom was just great, also because of the theme.
I will flash your rom first thing tomorrow, but i just wanted to say thank you for your work on the S+ and thanks for releasing a rom for the nexus 5!!

cannot turn off the button backlight. Settings app crashes as soon as i try to
Edit :
Tried to disable it from sys/class/leds/button backlight/brightness by putting it to 00 but phone reboots and the backlight starts again. These lights are really irritating..
Edit 2:
Got it working by changing values in both files of brightness in above path. But it changes again after every restart.

Since it is based on CM (Lineage) source, shareit bug will be present i guess. No harm in trying this rom though. I am planning to get my hands dirty with this rom in a few days time
Also, if possible, please port xperia calling app to this rom

Rom is super smooth, Battery life is very good (only 2% overnight drop). But there are some issues I found
1. Browser Keeps crashing, while installing apps from playstore
2. Cant disable hardware key's back-light. If we try to do so in XOSP setting it gets crashed
3. While placing a call Do Not disturb mode gets automatically enabled, and gets disabled automatically after call has ended.(I am not sure if it is expected behavior)
MUSIC PLAYER EFFECTS ARE SUPER AWESOME.

I was reading a lot with just about 15 minutes of survivalcraft, WiFi, cell and Bluetooth on the whole day. Best battery life I personally have ever had in a ROM.

What is XOSP and how was it born?
XOSP stands for the Xperia Open Source Project. The project was initially created by me (@nilac) for the Galaxy S+ (my old device) years ago. Back then the ROM was called S+ Reborn. The vision was to create a minimal bloat free ROM which included Sony Xperia specific apps and various tweaks users would expect from a custom ROM.
S+ Reborn became a success and was eventually ported to different devices so from there I rebranded and XOSP project was founded. I worked on the project for 2 years always trying to improve it. Eventually, Because of the fact Lollipop was buggy on my Galaxy S+ (Which I maintained xosp for at the time) I decided to take a break from development until I got my hands on the Zenfone 2 in 2015 and from then I started again the development of XOSP and continued it ever since.
What Represents a Release and what represents a Revision?
Revisions include small changes such as bug fixes/improvments etc.. (Usually there are made like 3 revisions per-release).
Releases are the main "stable" builds with all new planned features implemented and bugs fixed.
You can find all the included features right:

How do I create bug report or capture battery log. I installed ROM on 11th Jan. charged mobile 3 times to 100% . but I got on screen time of less than 15 minutes. google play services is awake for 10hrs and drains my battery. Screen time is 5th in the list. I am using Squid Kernel
I am planning to go back to Resurrection ROM as I was getting 4hrs on screen without any bugs.

Seems like a gapps issue. Try clean flashing the ROM with a different gapps package
Thanks for the ROM. Almost everything's fine. I'm switching back to RR till you fix live wallpapers.
Please fix it, it's really nice to me to be able to use a LWP.
The op is just a builder afaik, these issues you point out may have to be fixed mainstream.

Gallery is working in RR, this is ROM-related. Even in Lineage OS it's working.

Fair enough. Though like I said op is just a builder I don't think he will be fixing issues like this unless they are fixed mainstream and he compiles a new ROM. Are live wallpapers the only issue you have? No data loss?

Data loss only seen while trying VDD in kernel settings and getting the kernel crashing. Rollback of about 3 secs after every reboot if doing many tasks in background before rebooting.
But I don't care too much about that bugs, there's not actual corruption, just rollback. I just want the LWP to work.
An important buggy thing might be the WiFi who losses a bit of signal every some minutes, but that's not on the developer.

I guess you aren't waiting enough. On Nougat custom ROMs mine takes up to 8 minutes to boot.

Please @Subhrajyoti Sen , tell me you're going to update this ROM. It has many bugs and I'd like to see it updated, I'm still download AOSP source, maybe I can build one by myself later, but that'd take weeks.

What is XOSP?

How do we release updates?
We release new updates for our Official devices each week by providing Delta updates to the users,so maintainers of the other devices can do the same as well if they want to keep up with the changes. We will make full zip releases only once a month except special cases like for example XOSPDelta is not working or something like it.

It's first build and XOSP has just been shifted to different branch so let things settle up. I'll update again on Wednesday.

It is not showing for me too. It shows google voice to text by default which is useless as we don't have any connection at that point.
I Will try with XOSPApps this time
Edit: No luck, only OTG saved me. Once the Wizard is completed, I noticied strange behaviors:
1. No launcher, no keyboard, no browser, in short speaking, apps weren't installed properly even though the APK is present, except for LatinIME, whose folder is misteriously empty.
2. SIM 2 wasn't detected.
3. RadioFM asked for root privileges (I tried to change navbar icons through the settings)
