Hello everyone
I had this weird issue today in which my phone is able to call but not able to receive phone calls. I don't know what's causing this. When someone calls me it immediately goes to the voicemail.
I tried changing the ROM and kernel, but the problem is still there.
Please Help![emoji55]

Nevermind, I fixed it by removing that Sim, using a new different Sim, and reinstalling the Sim.

Every once and a while my evo won't make calls, giving me a error, and when others try and call me they get a error as well, no voicemail or anything.
Anyone else getting this? First noticed it after stock with root, wiped and still happening. I'm running viper Rom and it still happens every once and awhile to.
Also, when it happens I also can't get texts. I haven't tested data out any of the times, but when it happens it still shows signal and data icons.
A reboot fixes it, but I never know when its going on until someone tells me in other ways or I try and call or text.

Are you using google voice with the sprint integration? I had an issue with that for a while. If so go to the google voice page and disconnect and reconnect your number from voice and it should all clear up.

Thanks a ton. Didn't know GVoice had done that. Disconnected it and switched it back to my regular google voice number, with forwarding for voice mail.

I have the GS3 on straight talk art. I can make and receive calls but I cannot hear nor can the other person hear me. It was working before now its not. Any suggestions?

I do mate. I am on XSA stock firmware, have not rooted or done anything funny with this phone. I can get it to work by toggling the usage of the noise cancelling mic in the settings of the phone app.
Looks like a dodgy phone.apk implementation. Anyone got a fix to it? I've tried clearing the app data, etc but nothing really seems to fix it 100%.
I usually don't ask questions. I solve them myself. Now I have a problem I don't know what to do. I can send SMS, use Mobile Data, make and receive calls, but I cannot receive messages. They don't show up. I am on the AT&T network. Everything worked until one night, it just stopped working. Couldn't get texts. Being a teenager, that is problematic for me XD. I have been to two AT&T stores (local and corporate). They wouldn't help me since it wasn't a branded AT&T phone. Wow. They take the money no questions asked. The part that confuses me is. I didn't do anything to my phone the night it stopped working. Anyone have any thoughts.
-Done so far= Flashed to stock, factory reset multiple times, checked message center #

brother pls format sd card and flash stock fw via odin , may be it sloved ur problem.

So after a week same problem. Everything just stopped. This really pisses me off since I can't use my S3. I am back on my Captivate for the time being and it sucks now that I have experienced the S3. Anyone have any ideas what it is?

I guess nothing... Great. I have to use a super old phone until i can afford another one. Not easy having to pay a 3000 dollar insurance policy and for my motorcycle. Not easy when you are 17

The only things I can think of is, have you got another messaging app messing things up, or in the messaging settings there's a spam settings, have you checked that?

I think as default the spam settings is on, at least mines on. Might be worth a try.
Also did you restore your old messages when you went back to stock, if so maybe try deleting all messages, clear data in app manager. Back up your messages before deleting though
Yeah i deleted everything. Flashed stock and tried. Nothing. It makes me mad that i cant use my phone.

just to clarify - the new sim card worked for a week or so on your S3 and stopped working. while the same sim card(with an adapter) works on your captivate ?
i want to figure out what's the source of your problem.
other thing - if i understand you correctly you went to AT&T to fix your phone. i suggest go to AT&T center or call their support cause every company has a number for checking sms transportation and see in what stage it failed. it's just sending a code to a certain number and you should get the desired info.

Here are the details. One night i noticed i wasnt getting text from a specific someone and it was weird. Within the next couple of days i went to AT&T store. Got a new micro sim for my S3, didnt work... Got a regular sim and put it into a old phone they had lying around and it worked. I then had them cut it down to micro sim and put it into my S3. Worked for about a week and stopped again. Got a new regular sim and put it into my Captivate and it worked. So im on that until i have it fixed.

If I were you, I would try with another operator's sim card to figure out if the problem is on att network or the phone. Maybe get one of those pay-as-you-go/prepaid plans and try to receive an sms- if it works, then the problem is on att's network

When you put your sim in your Captivate did all the missed messages come through on the Captivate. If they did then I would say it's an issue on the S3, if not then it's probably an at&t issue
All of them came through yes. But why would it not work on the S3. And randomly? There was another guy on the forums that had the same problem.

So the past two days I have used my old galaxy nexus to play around with aosp again. Yesterday I put my SIM back into my DNA and I can't get 4g. I have installed different kernels, wiped EVERYTHING, refitted the SIM 1000 times and still nothing. Guess what? 4g works fine on the nexus. Also, when using an app that allows me to access the phone info screen, lte only option gives me 4g with no hiccups. But when I change back to anything else I can't get 4g.
New SIM?
I saw an old thread about it but not many answers.
EDIT: new SIM fixed it.

On which device? And before or after new SIM? I never had it on my nexus although I recall having it on my DNA but only on sense 5 and I don't think it happened during my "Coruppted SIM" moment.

I have a dna rooted bootloader unlocked that I am having radio issues I think. The radio version I am on is 1.01.01.1112 I am a verizon user and have had many roms on it. Same problem. I am now on Vipers newest. What is the newest? Any suggestions?

I realized that after I made it and couldn't figure it out how to change the title. The problem I am having is that when I talk on the phone people cant here me they say I am cutting out and that I sound fuzzy?

My data works great 4g and 3g is fine, Only issue I have is call quality and google voice wont call through no matter what rom I install. It lets me call out but doesnt bring my gvoice calls through, they always have to leave a message and i call them back.

I wouldn't think that that would have anything to do with the radio although I dint use Google voice so I'm going to have to let someone more experienced in that field take over
