Unable to open & use Google play services on my rooted (CM 12 instld) LG Optimus E970
Why am i unable to open and use Google play services (play store, play games) on my LG Optimus E970? I search all over the Internet to find a solution, but to no avail. Does the problem have to do with an error in the installation/flashing process of Cynanogenmod 12 (nightly) on my device? if so, how can i correct it? Also, Playstore (or other affiliated services) was not installed after the flash.

I don't think Cyanagenmod for the LG Optimus G E970 is being routinely updated anymore. There are other ROMS that are worth looking at, which are listed below that I have personally used and have had no issues with. The first one is Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based and the second one is Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based.

The recovery I am using is Philz Touch 6.57.9 Clockworkmod v6.0.5.1
Thank you Kilogrm form your earnest reply. I guess would have to go with Android 5.1.1. I check the link but only saw a link to the ROM file. Can you please provide a link for the gapps file, thank you.

I see you already got your answer from the lollipop thread. I'm sure you know that if you are using Android 5.1.1 that you would use the gapps for 5.1 on the gapps page and not 6.0, which is for Android 6.

Neewbie here,
Have a quick question. UK user, purchased a Chinese Samsung Galaxy Win (dual sim) GT-I8552. Unfortunately, I dont think its going to come with the Google Play app.
Im not interested in installing custom roms, custom recovery modules etc, all I desire is to be able to access the Play store to restore my purchased apps on old Android phone!
Is there any way I will be able to install a Stock from FROM A DIFFERENT REGION to the Phone, or am I stuck with no google play or having to install a custom rom (which I believe from searches, a stable version doesnt exist at present for the I8552!). I am planning on using the standard Samsung Tools to install the Stock ROM from a different region.
The phones specs and hardware are identical, apart from the Internal memory, which is 4Gb as opposed to 8Gb on the non Chinese model....
Thanks in advance, as a newb I couldnt post this to the Dev side, if any Android XDA developers could repost in dev if I dont get an answer on the general forum....

Without installing any ROM or doing anything dangerous, you can get the APK of the Play Store.
Here is a link for the latest one as for today (4.6.16) : goo. gl/IF8SoA
Download it and open it from your phone and install it and it should work.
If it didn't work, you have other alternatives such as Aptoide.
If you don't have the Google Play store, then most probably you don't have the Google Play Services package. For this, you may need to root your device and install it as a zip, or google Gapps for your device and download each APK by itself.
Does anyone know if there are custom ROM's available for the Archos 45b? I would love CynogenMod but a ROM based on Lollipop 5.0 would be fine too. This is my dad's phone and he wants to upgrade but doesn't know how to, and since this is mostly an offbrand phone (I use a Galaxy S5) it's harder to sometimes impossible to find custom roms, so any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Also if someone knows if CWM Recovery is available that would be super.

CM 11 e TWRP but play store problem RH-01

I applied this guide (I can not put the link because I have to first write 10 posts here)
and put CM11, and TWRP 2.8.6.0 all seems to work except the play store, I got the last gapps for arm and android 4.4.xe I tried both pico and micro, gmail works but play store from bug server RH-01 and do not serve the guides that try to fix this error, tips?
maybe not use the gaaps and hand them? but what do you need? play store and play services? and what versions?
ah I forgot, with twrp 2.8.6.0 does not reboot and to do this i have to take the battery off, also i can not do the dalvik wipe .... but the CM11 works

got my lg gpad x8.0 tablet from Tmobile recently. i download the APK of Whatsapp version 2.17.254 , which must be the latest. it appears in my download folder. i touch for install , but it says my tablet is incompatible . is anybody using whatsap in LG G PAD X 8.0? please share any experience or clues. thank you
I have it working. I downloaded the apk and install it. Then inside the WhatsApp setup process I had to manually input the tablet phone number to get a text with the verification code and indeed I got the text on the tablet.
I did this last year and I am running Android 6.0 also I was rooted when I first tried to install WhatsApp, so don't know if any of this two things contribute to make it possible. But I had no problems, very straight forward to install WhatsApp once you have the apk

it don't have google apps and when i instll them they always crash
can't update software it sayd your phone is not registered
pls help me update ths phone or at least be able to install google apps

my lg v10 also have same specs. from where did you purchase this. In may case i can install and use google apps without any problem, but other problems are same as yours "can't update software it said your phone is not registered" and even cannot register my device. my phone running in lollipop and i cant update it to upper version, even i cannot install TWRP so that i can install it manually. no one here to help us.

root with kingoroot or kingroot (search on google) then install a custom rom for lg v10

Hey, I tried to install Google play services + Gapps but all ways failed in both Emui 8 + 9
Google play service it doesn't show in Settings.
If i flash it using other region rom will it have Google play Services?
Huawei is now blocked offical bootloader unlock code aisle. but you can still get it on Third-party platform or get it by yourself.
if You just want to change languages, press"设置", go to "系统"-"语言和输入法", and then find"简体中文（中国）", change it to English.
if You just want to install Google Play, you can search "GMS安装器" in Google and download it, when installation, the Devices will be reboot. if this not working, you can try to downgrde and retry.
