The XT1511 is the US model. While it has quadband GSM, it only has the three HSPA bands that are used in the US (2, 4, 5). UFONE needs HSPA Band 1.

Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SHV-e120s)

Hi guys
I recently got one of these shipped over to Australia. Now I've encountered a few network issues I'd like help to resolve.
1. I think the only HSDPA/UMTS bands available are only 900/2100MHz. That means I can't get access to Telstra's Next G Network as it runs on 850MHz. Unfortunately I can't get access to the service mode at all and I've also downloaded the network app from the android market to see if I can change the band that way, but that doesn't help either - the app just crashes. I guess there's not much I can do there.
2. According to all the sites I've seen about the specs for the phone - LTE bands supported are 800/1800/2600MHz. But I can't seem to get on Telstra's LTE in sydney. The phone assumes that even with a Telstra sim, I'm on roaming with SK Telecom and it states that 4G roaming is now available. The aforementioned network app is set to "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto" - yet no LTE!
Perhaps I could flash to another ROM? but I'm not sure which would be applicable? The LG Nitro HD has the closest specs in my opinion. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. usually, bands are hardware limited. Meaning if you don't receive a particular band, you probably won't ever be able to.
2. what bands does Telstra's LTE operate on? #1 applies here too. If the LTE antenna in the phone doesn't receive the frequency your operator is transmitting on, there's not much you can do.
And in your "Perhaps", why would you even consider flashing a ROM for a completely different phone to yours???? (unless you WANTED to end up with a paperweight)
EDIT: Look at this thread. Specifically what's in post 2, which reads "So it doesn't matter where you buy the phone from, it will work on Telstra unless you go buy the korean version or something." Just googling your model number (SHV-E120S), it looks like that IS a Korean version of the phone. The fact that you say it says something about roaming for SK Telecom (a South Korean carrier) seems to support that.
EDIT 2: a quick google for the SHV-E120S turns up this page, which says the phone is for networks voice GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, data (HSPA+) UMTS900, UMTS2100, and LTE frequencies LTE 800, LTE 1800, LTE 2600.
According to Telstra's wikipedia page, HSPA on Telstra is UMTS850 and UMTS2100, and LTE is LTE1800. So you won't get full support on all of Telstra's bands with that model of phone.
It looks like you'll prob be stuck with 3G nextwork if you use this phone in AUS.
Remember: DO NOT try to flash ROMs that is not for your phone. I've tried this one time and ended up hard-bricking my phone. NEVER DO THIS!

Ive read a number of XDA sites where people flash and install new modems with different bands. Woudl it be possible to install a 850MHz modem into the above phone?

Um, no. No flash will ever address a hardware limitation.

How to Enable HSDPA + ?

I want to Enable H+ but i don't now how.
Is it only available in selected providers, Countries or everywhere? Or just in Big Cities ?
( More Infos in my Profile )
- Leon
If you enabled WDCMA in network options, phone will automatically use H+ when carrier and current station supports it.
I recently have two Galaxy S III phones with two providers T-Mobile and Vodafone. With Vadofone i have H+ but my T-Mobile only gives 3g. It depends what your provider gives you.

I will test it with Vodafone. Thanks
Yeah it depends on your service provider I for one can only use 3g and HSDPA because that's what they give me here. HSDPA is fast anyway its not like I'm complaining

T-mobile operates on 850 MHz band.. which is standard in USA whereas in India GSM bands are 900/1800 MHz.. A116 is made to operate on 900/1800 MHz band only.. it is a dual band GSM phone. You need a quad band phone which operates over 850/900/1700/1800 MHz only then you will be able to use it in India as well as USA

Moto E XT1527 - unable to detect 3G network

Hi,
I recently purchased a XT1527 - AT&T go phone and it was working well in USA as I got 4G signals all over.
I am now back to India using Idea network, the phone gives me only 2g network
I even tried *#*#4636#*#* and set the preferred network to
a) WCDMA only - couldn't find any network
b) LTE only - gives me only 2G
c)LTE/WCDMA - got only 2g
I also don't see the preferred network options under
Settings->wirless and networks->more option
how to resolve this issue?
Att model may not have the radio bands you need to get anything higher than 2g. Sounds like your issue with me.

The North American models only have the 3G/4G bands for North American networks. You'll only get 2G internationally.

4G TDD LTE network problem

Hi everyone,
I'm new to xda-developers forum and hope you guys welcome me to the community .
To be honest, I actually registered on this forum because I had a problem with connecting to a 4G network.
I have a Xiaomi redmi note 3 special edition and it supports TDD LTE 2300Mhz band. I also have my internet connection which is also on a TDD LTE 2300Mhz network. ISP has provided me with a device (a huawei router) along with the internet connection and I can use that SIM only on that device, although my phone supports the same TDD LTE network band, ISP network refuses to register my phone on the network when I've put the SIM into my phone . So, here a question arises, How do they identify the device? Can I trick the network to show them my phone as the router they have given? :silly: I'm pretty sure they not only use the IMEI, (I've tried changing IMEI with another device. It didn't work). So what else they can use to identify the device trying to register on their network? Serial No? or is there something else to identify a device on a TDD LTE network? I hope all of your support on this. Could you please share your knowledge on this topic? :fingers-crossed:
Thank you
