will flashtool version 0.9.18 work on e5533 whithout bricking the phone

why that happened and how to fix it
The flashtool probably damaged the boot files in the ftf right after removing the original ones in your phone..
Download The Xperia Companion from Sony Official website and use the rest option
It should remove everything in your phone and build up a proper boot files with the latest available software for your device (LP 5.1.1)

in SEUS you have to click the "repair" option, that should do it
I have the same problem.
I've rebooted from CWM recovery after a new rom installation, and it told me that the recovery was broken.
So I choose to repair it but it didn't work.
I tried few times (5 or 6) and, at the end, I decided to switch off the phone and reboot.
Since then my phone is stacked on the Sony Ericsson Logo, it'is impossible to connect it using the "back" button and it is impossible to use SUSE properly I guess 'cause I tried but it does not recognize the phone.... I tried with an hard reset (Home+power) but it shuts down and then again it stacks.
Obviously the back button does not allow me to go on recovery mode....
My sister will kill me!
Im on the same boat (looking for fw)
looking for 2.1 for x10a (e10a) ver 2.0.A.0.504

1st, have you tried connecting your phone via flash mode to flashtool ? Can flashtool detect it ? Because, if your phone can enter sony logo, I think SEUS /flashtool will be able to detect it as well..
In case SEUS still fails but flashtool is able to connect,, try to install nAa latest kernel (I suggest to redownloading it), since it contains recoovery as well..
Hopefully that helps..

Hi,
I bricked my sony xperia mini pro over a dozen times and still managed to get it on track using this method.
01) download the xperia flash tool https://unrestrict.li/flashtool
02) download the latest firmware for your device from the sony support page.
03) install the flashtool then goto the installed directory... find the firmware folder and copy the downloaded firmware file into it.
eg. D:\Users\ROMI\Desktop\Flashtool\firmware
04)start the flashtool.... switch off your phone..... give it about 10 seconds... then hold the volume down button and plug it to the PC.
05)The flashtool will detect the phone... then click on the lightning bolt sign in the flashtool...select flashmode -> ok
06)then select the frimware for your phone in the next window....
07) Then press flash...
thats it. The flashtool will flash the stock firmware and the phone should be unbricked.
hope this helps.

Help with c5 ultra

First of all I apologize and I had to use google translator
what happens is that yesterday was installing a generic firmware to my c5 ultra, then came a moment when I got an error like this:
18/032/2016 17:32:55 - INFO - Processing boot.sin
18/032/2016 17:32:55 - ERROR - Processing of boot.sin finished with errors.
18/032/2016 17:32:55 - INFO - Ending flash session
disconnect my phone and now will not start , press the volume + and power and nothing happens , try to get him into Flashmode with volume- and as usual nothing happened , only LED lights red , it all does nothing more, also my PC does not recognize ... I can do :crying:
I got the same error and got bricked my c5, also if you see the forum there are many pals having this issue.
Only solution we have is to send the phone to sony service

yup. there are 3 ways to solve the problem,
1st you have to send it to service.
2nd if your bootloader is locked, you can repair your phone via pc companion.
3rd you have to take off the back cover (which results warranty void,) and find the service test point, connect it to pc via testpoint opened and use s1tools to flash new boot.img.
my phone was the same as your but tried rom port. corrupted boot file. it acted same as yours. tried everything BUT if its bl was locked, i could be able to repair with pc companion but my bl was unlocked so there were 2 options for me, i dont know where tp is so i sent it to service. its been 18 working days and 12 working days to left to retrieve my phone
you can try pc companion or tp point but i warn you. if you cant find test point, your warranty will be void. you shouldnt risk it and give it to service. and you should act like i did. just role play like you dont understand about phone. i acted like that and they said it will be done for free

My C5 Dead, Be careful Flashing Latest Firmware

I used my C5 with E5563_29.1.B.0.87_1296-9001_R4A firmware for 3 month until yesterday.
I rooted, have recovery installed and everything was just fine.
But It died when flashing E5563_29.1.B.0.101_1296-9001_R4A.ftf.
I used Flashtool 0.9.21.0 x64 and used xperifirm to download firmware
I have been flashed Sony devices for yearss and I didn't noticed anything wrong.
Battery was fine, Flashtool didn't report any errors for all downloading and flashing procedure.
But my C5 just hardbricked.
No flashmode, No fastboot, Charging animation and red led working but that's all.
When connect to PC it is recoginzed as "USB Serial Device (COM4)"
I can't find any possible way to recover hardbricked C5.
It is frustrating.

You don't need custom recovery for this mod to work, just replace the correct apk file and change the permissions to rw-r--r--
You should be rooted to replace the apk. Please read the instructions in the original post carefully.

It clearly states on the flashtool download page and on here on the flashtool page/thread NOT to use flashtool to flash c4+c5 mediatek powered Xperia devices as this will result in a hard brick I.e. You now have a permanent paperweight no idea why it is only those two mediatek Xperias as the xa works fine with flashtool.

[SOLVED] J9110 bootloop

Got a J9110 which was on 55.1.A.0.748 (Customized NOBA with CDA 1318-7934).
Connected it to the PC to flash 55.1.A.3.49 (Customized UK with CDA 1319-2846).
Flash was successful, but now the device won't boot.
Every time you try to turn it on it says 'Your device is corrupt it can't be trusted and will not boot'.
Any suggestions on what to do?
Tried flashing with newflasher and flashtool, same result.
EDIT: Solved. See post here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81636785&postcount=8

Xperia Companion is being painfully slow for me, downloading at 1.5 Mbps. It will never get done at that rate.
I found an old Nordic FTF for the J9110. It's based on Android Pie, but I flashed that, and the phone boots up just fine.
When I flash Customized UK, it doesn't boot and gives me the error shown above.
I have read flashtool now supports Xperia 1 if you would like to try that route.
You have to erase user data when flashing or you will get a bootloop, at least for me.
Or like someone else said, use repair on xperia companion.
I have this problem too before, but what i do is using xperia companion and software repair.
But u have too used good usb c cable... This problem will occur if u use cheap cable
The problem might be the Antivirus too!
*Disable it.
*Try using the different cable than provided because once my phone didn't work with the USB C to USB C connection cable(had to use old cable from Sony Phone).
Meanwhile, If you can flash lower version or other region ftf then all is Okay with your phone.
I find Flashtool as the safe tool to do so.
Maybe tick the erase userdata while flashing.

For the "Your device is corrupt it can't be trusted and will not boot " reason; I had to replace the board in repair center.
It never booted to flashmode but I could boot to fastboot and that didn't help.
You are luck enough that the lower version worked for you.

Thank you all for the responses.
Turns out the firmware I had downloaded from XperiFirm was corrupt.
I deleted it and re-downloaded a fresh copy and it worked just fine.
I was going crazy because I had wiped userdata several times and it refused to boot.
Oh great.
All the best. ?
