How to install TWRP on an officially unlocked Redmi Note 3 Pro (SnapDragon) - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

So I'm really confused. I really didn't want to create another thread about this but then again, I searched everywhere and I still don't know how to install TWRP on my Redmi Note 3 Pro (with the bootloader officially unlocked). I managed to install the Global MIUI through EDL ("Couldn't verify package" through updater) but now I'd like to try other ROMs and I suppose I need TWRP or other custom recovery to do so. So is there a way to flash it that someone can explain or link to me please? Thank you

Download twrp-kenzo here:
androidfilehost. c o m/ ?w=files&flid=50678
Install twrp via fastboot.
Hold vol + down when you boot for the first time to boot into twrp. Choose language english.
Done!
Sorry for my bad english.

Thank you! Is this method safe/you already tried it?
Do I need to have the MiRecovery installed in order to install twrp? Because right now I don't have any recovery.
EDIT: Do I flash the .zip or the .img file?

Img file.
Yes, i did this method.
Remember, when fastboot reboot, hold volume up until mi logo.

As far as I remember you have to flash also modified boot.IMG file according to your ROM version otherwise you could have bootloop or not working WiFi.

That's the thing. Some threads say this, they talk about even creating a modified boot.img for the specific ROM and other threads don't even mention this process at all. I want to install the AOSP ROM on my Redmi Note 3 Pro and be ready for when a more stable version of CM 13 comes out but I still have no idea how to get a custom recovery TWRP.In some threads that I've been linked, the process is super simple but as I've seen the other stuff about modified boot.img and whatnot I'm kinda scared of screwing up.

Before flashing I spent 1 week studying here on XDA and also on en.miu forum...now I am on mobile and can't link you the right tread I followes,I' ll try to do later...I hope. Anyway don't give up:good:

ive already request for unlocked bootloader and wait xiaomi to approve it. i wan to know if i wan install developer miui rom that contains root and others stuff like maxx audio ( i love maxx audio because my last device is oppo find 7) do i need install custom recovery or stock recovery? im so scare can hard brick my phone . im using latest officials rom 7.2.3 SD

Need help in Flashing

Hello,
I just bought Redmi Note 3(Kenzo) after selling My Moto G3 Turbo. I have got permission from the MI for unlocking bootloader first day itself.
But I went through some forum link and im confused on the procedure to unlock bootloader and flash custom recovery and ROMS.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/guide-redmi-note-3-available-twrps-t3406708 Went through this and got more confused which TWRP should i Flash and all..
Could anyone please provide me the step by step procedure to unlock bootloader and flash custom roms like cm13, 14.. Please
I just use the standard TWRP for kenzo. I tried cofface and had a few issues with it being picky about the USB drive I was using. Many like using TWRP alka version since it can back up so many different things compared to the standard but the standard has worked for me in between moving MIUI 8 dev/stable, CM13, and CM 14.
I suggest zcx twrp, you can flash any ROM and backup all partitions.
Download MI UNLOCK tool once you get your permission to unlock.
Flash TWRP (Official or by dadi11) using fastboot.
Choose ROM and Flash it.
Thank You All.

Thanks for the reply.
I have got the permission and downloaded the flash tool. I am confused in flash CM 13 roms... I saw that we need to be on cm 13 or 14 firmware which is around 45-50mb.
So once i unlock the bootloader, do i need to flash anything else apart from TWRP to install custom roms or directly flash custom rom. Also can i go back to lollipop rom again from CM.

Yes, you do not need to install anything else I guess. Somehow going back to LP does not work. However, developer ROM works fine through fastboot.

Help - Installing MIUI by TWRP

Everyone, good morning!
I was using MIUI 8.2.10 Global Stable on Redmi Note 4X (4Gb and 64Gb).
I unlocked Bootloader
I installed TWRP 3.1.1-0
But the system did not start, it gets stuck in the "Mi" logo.
I had on the card the ".zip" file from MIUI 8.2.10 Global Stable, I made Full wipe and installed MIUI by TWRP. Even then the system does not start ...
What can it be?
Why did not I start the MIUI system after I installed TWRP?
Can not install MIUI by TWRP?
I'd rather install using TWRP than Miflash tools, as I think it's safer.
Either flash SuperSU or flash the zip for disabling dm-verity after flashing the ROM else the ROM won't boot

Search for lazy flasher

Very Thanks
thank you so much! As I already installed a custom, I will wait for MIUI 9 to leave to install. Thankfully it is possible to install by TWRP. In the case after installing the ROM, I install Root or this file Lazy disabling dm-verity, that is not need to be the two, right?
Enviado de meu Redmi Note 4 usando Tapatalk
Lazy flasher is necessary to Boot a MIUI ROM after Installation of a custom recovery such AS TWRP.
For a custom ROM you don't need lazy flasher.

Losing touch after installing TWRP and custom Roms

I did unlock the bootloader the official way after getting permission via mi unlock tool.
But installing twrp and any custom rom leads to loss of touch. Boots up to full but touch wont work.
I reboot to recovery and installed the latest firmware but it didn't help.
The only way to make it work is to flash the fastboot miui rom via miflash tool. Then everything comes to normal.
Twrp is the official one downloaded from twrp.me.
Roms tested were RR, Aosep, lite mod rom etc and all ended up with loss of touch on bootup.
Now even if the bootloader is unlocked, I can use only miui roms.
Does anybody has faced this issue?
Any way to overcome this problem?
Please help......

Maybe try to use a different recovery such as twrp by zcx? [emoji53]
What's the problem with flashing other roms? Error 7?
Inviato dal mio Redmi Note 3 utilizzando Tapatalk
No problem with flashing other roms...No error 7.
They get installed fine but touch wont work on display.
Nothing could be done theteafter than use miflash and flash fastboot rom.
In miui rom no issues and touch work fine.

Have you tried flashing an older miui version for ex 7.6.7 and then a custom rom?

Is this stable or beta version?
What all need to wipe before flashing custom rom ?
I never tried with old version

It's a global dev, so not the stable.
You usually need to wipe mainly data and cache, while you usually do not wipe emmc

Which versions of TWRP and SuperSu to use for Note 3 PRO (kenzo)?

I have Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 PRO (kenzo) and need to install TWRP and then root it. The bootloader is unlocked.
Now I have MIUI Global 8.0 stable 8.0.5.0 (LHOMIDG). Android 5.1.1.
1. Which TWRP version should I install? The newest here is 3.2.1-0. is it okay for me?
In the instructions it says:
"This means that swiping to allow system modifications will prevent you from being able to boot if you are using the stock kernel. In order to bypass dm-verity's boot prevention, you will have to install a kernel that has dm-verity disabled in the fstab."
What should I do exactly before it? (I have stock kernel. bootloader is unlocked)
2. Which version of SuperSu (or something else for rooting) should I use, and from where?
Thanks

I advise you to use zcx or redwolf twrp in order to have OTA support if you plan to continue using miui and to use magisk to root your device.

[ROM] Mi 8 Miui 10 Global Beta Update here

I just downloaded and reupload newest Beta rom for Mi8. And it's official Global beta rom from Xiaomi
https://www.fshare.vn/file/HWUAJL4J2EJ9
Update direct link:
http://bigota.d.miui.com/8.8.7/dipper_global_images_8.8.7_20180807.0000.00_8.1_global_7839c6d8e6.tgz
TWRP 3.2.3
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid...45805528068853
For install this rom. You must have unlocked Bootloader using Xiaomi unlock tool. Then download rom and Xiaomi flash tool. Turn your device to fastboot mode by: turn off => hold vol down + power button. Open Xiaomi flash tool. Extract rom with winrar. Choice rom folder in Xiaomi flash tool. Refresh and click Flash and wait. If you don't need root your device then just let it boot in to system.
Else, if you need root. Do this:

Short tutorial:
Unlock Bootloader if not already unlocked (IMPORTANT otherwise you´ll brick your phone)
Unzip and flash Fastboot rom using Miflash (at the bottom right choose the clean install option, make sure you DO NOT choose clear and lock, that will brick your phone!)
TWRP works, just use the latest version (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77272910&postcount=46) - So install TWRP
In TWRP flash https://zackptg5.com/android.php#disverfec and wipe DATA partition
Install Magisk. Boot up and flash universal Safetynet Fixer after
For Face Unlock set the region to Singapore, Hongkong, etc.

Yes, I'm also from eu rom 8.7.26. You must flash this version using Mi Flash
My GPS's working perfectly in this version.

i've a Mi8 Global, to install this i've to unlock the bootloader or can be installed with locked bootloader?
I flashed it, seems to works generally, but there´s no way to get TWRP installed... it instantly gets replaced with the original Recovery. Anyone else with that problem?
Is magisk working with this version?

No it's not possible by dirty flashing. Mi flash is your only choice.
I give you a tutorial link, pretty straightforward though

Is it possible to flash through twrp if I'm already running global. I really don't wanna backup/restore everything again.
And how is GPS so far?
