Malware issues? - Elephone P9000 Questions & Answers

Have any of you noticed any malware issues with your p9000? I've yet to receive mine but from reading forums saw people comment on the old p7000 and got a bit worried.

No malware issues and Elephone is keeping up to date with Android security patches.

[Q] Screen issues in German RAZRs?

I really like the build quality and the look of the RAZR, but I live in Egypt and I don't know when it will be released here..
I will be in Germany next month for couple of days and wanted to buy the RAZR from there, but from reading the reviews, I'm afraid that I may buy one that has the screen spots issue and I'll not have enough time to get a replacement...
So my question for the people in Germany, do you also complain about the same screen issues?
Also if you have any suggestions for trusted places selling this phone in Berlin, that will be appreciated
Thanks
I bought mine in Sweden and don't have any issues.
I would guess Germany and Sweden get the same builds.

Countless meaning 5-6 on both AndroidForums and here?
"The RAZR display uses a new high efficiency OLED material. These screens may in some cases exhibit slightly darker regions, like you've noticed. Because the darker regions are only visible when viewing the black screen in a very dark environment, they will not interfere with general use. Most importantly, they don't change over time and are typical for this generation of OLED material. They in no way indicate a problem or defective screen."

Forums sure can be annoying at times. Especially when people read a few threads and assume all the phones are the same. Don't forget, we, the forum people make up a tiny percentage of users. Out of us forum people many of us don't have those issues. You do the math, if you wanna base your phone purchases off of words rather than real life good luck.

How many users who do not have this problem have created threads about NOT HAVING this problem?
How many people have had this phone for at least a week now? 1000? 5000? 10,000? Or maybe more? How does that compare proportionally?
Quite happy with mine, screen quality is the terrific. There, one happy person to give the rest hope. Just stare at it in all environments with all sorts of back ground colors?? What the heck, you should be able to use it for a day in and out (or before you leave the store) and determine through real world use if it suits you eyes. I came from a atrix 4G so maybe I am used to crap?? And this thing looks awesome in comparison??
edit: I do see them now, have to be looking though. If you memorize where they are, you can problem obsessively watch them and grind you teeth. If no one had ever shown me what they look like I would have never found them... still dont care, and it still is a great screen and if you have a OCD go nuts.
I read too many mixed reviews about this issue which made me not sure if this issue will be annoying to me or something that I can live with it..
Anyways thank you everyone ...and I still need suggestions for places to buy the RAZR from Berlin with good price?

Has anyone heard anything about us getting the 1.4 OS update?
No, but we should get it.

Thanks for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience.

The same with the Huawei watch. The only 2 watches with a speaker and seemly the last 2 that will get updated.
I have been keeping up on the various watches and lots of the others are getting OTAs already. I am not sure if they are waiting for the big CES event to announce Speaker Support or wait for a new gen of watches to be released. Kind of weird. Something is going on behind closed doors.
Or, since these are the only ones to have speakers they may still be working out the bugs in the audio.
Shouldnt this be done by google?
I thought the system comes from google, not from Asus? Unlike smartphones...

Pretty sure it's the same method as Phones, Minus carrier alterations. Asus must still apply drivers and such. Could be wrong, but it seems the most likely. Having google develop drivers for all the different watches is madness
I thought Google restricted the wear system much more than the smartphones....
They did. Notice how no one puts their ****ty UI on top of google's?

pure BS about the problems with exchanged devices, they are even reporting a case of a note 2 burning!
I received my replacement in the mail on the 15th. It's been fine, other than the occasional stutter and lag. Stupid SD820.
The heat is on the charger this time. Even when fast charging feature is disabled. I'd expect the charger to get warm. Though my Note7 has already been replaced and firmware updated, I still disable fast charging to keep the battery from stress.

No, aside from the (still relatively small) number of fire incidents that has since been resolved with the recall, this product has no more issues than ANY other phone. It just has endless dumb journalists who jump on the hype bandwagon reporting anything that might just connect the story to a Samsung device, blowing it completely out of proportion just to get viewers/readers/clicks. All that achieves is endless knee jerk reactions from the ignorant authorities and technology illiterate public.
Even on XDA people generally come here to vent frustration about either hardware/software issues on their particular device (that's every phone XDA caters for) or to complain about a manufacturer of said device. Giving the impression that their phone is just a complete failure.
Stop worrying about news reports, enjoy your phone. In the very unlikely event you get a dud, get it replaced or refunded. Importantly, come back here and let people know how great it is! It's an awesome phone!
Eventually all this BS scare mongering will die down and we can put it behind us.

It is a shame, this amazing device will not get to people who could have had a great Smartphone. But this means the next Note will really be worth waiting for. Sooooo...no more fires?

Anyone else find it weird that Note 7's were catching fire dang near daily then all of the sudden after Samsung issues a recall, they stop. Not trickle off. Literally STOP. Can't find 1 single report of a fire after October 11th.
There have been a few, since reported here. One from the 15th. It makes sense. Most of the ones that are going to fail already have, and many are out of circulation and we sure wouldn't hear from Samsung about any of those. It doesn't change anything, I'm glad I eventually returned mine after being in denial for a while.
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
I can't find the one from October 15th anywhere. I've searched and searched and searched. And even at that, I disagree that the ones that will have caught fire have. It doesn't really make sense that the reports would just literally STOP on one day. Even in recall situations, they trickle off as people return devices/etc. These reports stopped.
There was one in Malaysia, one in Singapore, one in UK and another one which I can't remember where, but it was posted on reddit by the victim's wife. It is probably still happening but people keep it to themselves as Samsung cleared itself of responsibility.
These threads need to stop. There are multiple under this same topic already and when the examples were posted they were ignored. Most people aren't using them anymore. Those who are are using them differently.
There's no conspiracy here. Samsung is privy to way more reports than we will ever know as they saw the return data. They made the decision based on this info and not media info to recall them.
Here's one from the q and a section where the post titles that end with question marks go.

Give me the freedom to have a different opinion about how many users are still using them, about conspiracy or whatever it is and the rest. Samsung still doesn't have any idea whit what was happened. And if you are underestimating the impact created by the media then... take a look at what's happening in US election now. But you are right about the thread.

All I'm saying is consider the fact they see all of the returns. We see just the ones that hit the press. They made the choice based on what they were seeing. I think they had a better idea of the volume/scale of the problem and wouldn't have issued a final recall and stopped production otherwise.
If it was just the US media they could have opted to recall only the us versions and leave the rest of the world market intact. Instead, they recalled all note 7.

simple, the news media got bored of that story and moved on to have fun with the US Elections.

If they stopped happening and there's no more news coverage, why would Samsung and carriers be blocking the note 7 outright and/or pushing updates to hobble the phone. Oh that's right...they determined the phone to be faulty and dangerous.

The proof is in the fact that Samsung will work it's hardest to get that note out of your hands. First with os updates. Second with carrier blocks. They don't want you to have the phone they made. That's proof enough.

That i's a pretty childish argument... Samsung made an OFFICIAL recall. When it's official it's official and that's it. But even Samsung can't reproduce in lab the problem. And THAT is a big question mark for us. The phone is so faulty and dangerous that even after two months we keep using them without a single problem. ))

No name calling was made sir so I don't appreciate your tone. The facts are the facts. Recall was official and yes they are hobbling phones by limiting charge of all to 60% and also now we have carriers who disabled note 7's across the board. I understand you don't like those facts or agree with them but I would appreciate it if you refrain from name calling.
My point is that Samsung would not be going to all these steps if the problem were mere phantom in nature.

I was a little ironic thinking about the current situation... We still use them even if they say they are dangerous and nothing is happening now. Don't take it personally. Read again my lines and yours and you will see what I'm talking about. When a recall is made that it... they have to take back everything. Even if we like it or not. I agree with that. But the facts are on both sides. The arguments the same. The single problem is WE KNOW something wrong. And we want answers from Samsung. I don't want to talk about the media... they where overreacting about the whole situation. And all of us we know what's happening when they do that. I'm not relaying on media because i don't trust them. I'm relaying on my own knowledge because I'm working in this industry from more than 25 years. And that is my opinion. If you want a technical discussion about that you're very welcome. But again... please, don't take it personally.

Okay, so now it's in the "Manufacturer Development" stage. Has anyone followed these (or have inside knowledge) enough to know how long, roughly, the timeframe of these stages take?
No idea here ... but I do know they only recently added the V30 to the Oreo list .... when it was clearly out for months in Korea.
So I wouldnt gamble on a timeframe for release - just that we will get it sometime.

So we're looking at about two weeks? A part of me hopes we'll crack root first.
Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk Pro.
We'll see. I'm not betting on root, though.

Okay, so now it's in the "Manufacturer Development" stage. Has anyone followed these (or have inside knowledge) enough to know how long, roughly, the timeframe of these stages take?

About 8 months apparently..... :/

Mind you even as a new device and updates in korea nothing was listed as it being able to be updated on the tmobile support page.
When I asked a customer service rep about it the said "we get our info from the manufacture"
At this point it will be my last ever phone purchased thru t-mobile. Not that they care about original customers at all. They are more interested in snagging people from the other 3 carriers.

We're well into April. Very strange.
Ok, changed today from "Manufacturer Development" to "Update in Development". We'll see what that means. But at least they're updating the page!
Funny how that stage doesn't exist...

Not great news for you guys https://www.phonearena.com/news/T-Mobile-LG-V30-Android-8.0-Oreo-update-delayed_id104125
I would take this article with a grain of salt. The only evidence they show is the original tweet with RedOregon69 from the 5th. Based on the original tweet, we should see the update this week.

That is an old story and it references the Tweet about the update being in 2 weeks while he should be this week.
Here is an article posted on TMo News dated April 6th with the Twitter conversation dated April 5th. The author of the Phone Arena article should have actually done his research instead of being lazy.

Yeah that's my bad, I should have looked into it a bit further before linking it here, I just kind of relayed it to here once I seen it

I don't blame you, I blame the author that posted it on Phone Arena for not researching it.

What's funny about the whole thing is that Phone Arena posted a story on April 7th by a different writer with the same Twitter conversation and it showed the dates of the conversation on Twitter. It proves that they are just regurgitating old stores and spinning them for clicks which is a big fat fail in my book. It also seems they are biased against T-mobile from looking through some of their other stuff.
What's sad is that Android Authority cited Phone Arena's story. That is another failure. Tech blogs are just copying each other's stories instead actually giving us useful information. I called Phone Arena and Android Authority out on the lack of actually checking stories and their failure to post legitimate news, not that they will fo anything about it.
I know now who not to trust for phone information and these losers top the list.

Yeah it sucks to be honest, it's a shame because PhoneArena used to be up there as best in my opinion, now they've just lost the vision I think, most of the comments on articles are them getting called out
