How to use LG G4 as a keyboard to control my Nexus 9 running Remix OS 2.0? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My first problem is that every time I try to connect to my Nexus 9 using my phone, it pairs for a brief second but then immediately disconnects, and the same thing happens when trying to pair to my phone from my tablet. My second problem is that I can't find a service or app that will directly link the two devices so that I can use my phone as a wireless keyboard for my tablet. Has anyone tried anything like this/have any advice or help? Thanks!

[Q] Bluetooth keyboard connectivity issues

Hi there,
I cannot get my Universal Bluetooth Mobile Keyoard to work with my Sony Xperia Tablet Z. Sometimes it will ask for a code, and before I can enter it an error message pops up saying "cannot communicate with device". Other times I am able to enter the code with no errors, however, key presses are not registered at all on the tablet.
The most confusing part about this problem is that my Microsoft Wedge Mobile Keyboard works perfectly well with my tablet. And what's more, when the Wedge keyboard is connected, the bluetooth module in quick settings displays the Wedge kayboard name. While, when the Universal keyboard is connected, the bluetooth module in the quick settings doesn't seem to pick it up. I have also tried using both keyboards with my Nexus 5 running Android 5.0, and both keyboard work fine. Even more confusion!
It's important to note that while trying to connect either device, I've unpaired the other from the tablet. Basically, only one keyboard is paired with my tablet at any given instance. Therefore, this is not the issue.
I've heard that there was a bug in 4.3 Jellybean which caused some connectivity issues with bluetooth devices. My tablet is running a Cyanogenmod 4.4.4 Kit-Kat ROM, so that issue shouldn't be present here (at least, I think...)
Has anyone encountered this problem before, or have a solution?
Cheers!

I think it is an issue of CM. Try stock ROM or CM12.

Turns out CM was the issue. Running stock 4.4.4 and it works perfectly now! Thank you so much!

Gear S and LG G5

Hey, I just got the LG G5 today. I've been using the Gear S for less than a year with my S6 Edge with no problems at all (after changing from the LG G Watch R, Samsung seemed to lock out the old watch with a software update).
I've been trying for the past few hours to set up my Gear S with the LG, but nothing's working. I've tried what seems to be the 2 most popular methods and neither worked. The closest I got was pairing the 2 via bluetooth in the Gear app, the watch said it needed to reboot and factory reset. But then nothing. Just stuck in an unending connecting loop.
The G5 is running Android 6, I've heard that the Gear S has some problems with that.
I don't need full functionality for the Gear S, just call and text notifications (it will do the calls via a normal BT connection but not texts). I use it as a music player as well, but since that isn't tied to the phone, I know I'll have that no matter what.
I've also heard about possibly being able to install Android Wear on the Gear S. Is that possible?
Can someone please help?

Sorry to tell you this, but gear s is locked down to only specific sammy devices. The best option for you is to flash the wear port from the development section. Then you can use it as a AW device... hope this helps

I did see the threads about flashing it to android wear, but if I do that can I still okay music out of my Gear S speakers?
Both my wife and I use it to listen to music work the need for an additional Downe speaker. If it can, then great.

Remix OS freeze while using.

Hi everyone.
I just installed Remix OS dual boot with windows 10 and used Grub2win to boot. I can boot perfectly to Remix OS, but sometimes there is no wifi and sometimes there is after I reboot. My problem is Remix OS freeze everytime after 5 minutes of using, even though I just use web browsing. Did anyone have the same problem?
My system is Asus transformer book T200.
Thanks

I have the same freezing problem on my lenovo yoga 2 11. Boots fine then the main desktop freezes. I can still click on the taskbar for a while until that freezes too. Had reported to devs a couple months ago.

Yup, desktop still freezes with the new release too. Sometimes the screen goes full black. It does come back though after a while. When the system freezes I usually just wait a few minutes and it recovers. The problem? I can't use it like this. My nVidia card is still unsupported so my CPU still overheats when anything moves on the screen...I had high hopes for the new Remix OS release Oh well...still waiting for my Chromebook to get the Android Play Store. It looks like that will be the only decent way of running Android apps on something else than a phone/tablet.
Can you look at this.

Let me know if it works.
Are you booting from USB? OR did you install to HDD?
One more thing to add is my camera is default ON at the startup (camera light is on). How to turn it off?
I'm seeing this freezing with RemixOS B2016063002 (v2.0.402) running in VirtualBox in Win10-- installed following instructions here. While RemixOS is slow (e.g. mousing around in a simple app is painful) it works initially. Then I go and do something else in Win10 for a handful of minutes and come back to a frozen RemixOS display. Something appears to still be running on the system as VirtualBox indicates hard drive and network activity.
I have the same problem, it stopped at 2.0.402 update (been using it for +1 hour)vv. It was because of the nouveau driver that didn't support acceleration in my card so after some 3D rendering the PC simply 'dies' LOL..

Im using asus x451ma and it hangs everytime when i use app like mobile legends and coc then suddenly i cant use my mouse and keyboard.. not just remix os but also in phoenix os.. i tried installing remix to my gf's acer laptop and it was fine and it was like.. FUUUCCKKKK what the hell just happen?? any solution there guys?
Freeze and reset

Problem in syncing 360 with Meizu M1 Note

Hello everyone,
I just received a used 2nd Gen moto and I have some problems in make the first syncing with my mobile.
Pairing is successful, then it passes an updating process and finally it gets stuck at Syncing screen.
Is anyone having any ideas what can I do to solve this issue?
If I open the Motorola Connect app, I see my watch as Disconnected. I don't know if the syncing procedure is causing this or truly the BT connection is down.
So no such problems for XDA members?
At least can someone tell me if it's normal that from the Bluetooth menu of the watch,I don't see my phone as available?
Is it because they are already paired?
Unleashed by my M1 NOTE
I don't see my phome (Nexus 6) either.
I solved my problem, by activating all permissions for Android Wear and also its notifications.
Finally, enabling the location at the phone is needed.

im still stuck with it... it shows me frequent pairining request, then it shows unable to connect, then stuck at syncing .... ( my device is nexus 4)
i don't know what to do with my watch

I have also a N4 and everything was working fine since the beginning.
Don't do the pairing through the mobile Bluetooth settings, but through the android wear app.

Question Android auto crashing

Hi guys
i have the XQ-CQ54 model with android 12 and i'm experiencing a lot of crashes with Android Auto. Tried everything including factory reset. Problem appears both on USB connection and wireless and appears on all cars i've tried it on (about 4 this far of different brands and models).
Anyone else with this?
might be app related ,5 iv is very new and might need a new android auto update to work better i would advise reporting that to google so they can have that feedback .
I would try it on my car but my infotainment is a little bit older so i cant get to reproduce the same effect.

i've tried various versions of android auto, they all crash... but they don't on my Samsung S20FE with same Android OS version (12)
Latest thing i tried was making sure power management is off for both AA and Spotify. We'll see if that makes a difference...
Yet again s20fe is not new on the market ,i know what you are saying but i still feel bugs might need some time to be polished on 5 iv as they dont have same hardware .
You can try to test it in safe mode...tho i am not sure if android auto is disabled or not in safe mode
tried changing battery management settings for apps, i'll see if that makes a difference.

nope, didn't... still crashes...
which firmware version are you running on the CQ54? and which version of Android Auto?
I have an XQ-CQ72 on 64.0.H.11.9, with Android Auto 8.6.124944 and don't have any issues
I have a 5 iv running Android 12 and Android Auto works flawlessly.
It didn't when I first tried it. My previous phone was a S22 and Android Auto worked flawlessly. On swapping the phone to the 5 iv, Android Auto couldn't hold a connection and produced error messages. After checking all the appropriate settings I couldn't find anything untoward. Past experience has shown at this point try a different usb cable....and with a different cable Android Auto started working and has continued to work flawlessly ever since.
I have come across this "sensitivity" to the usb cable before, with an older Huawei phone.
I would suggest trying a different usb cable, if you haven't already, as it may make a difference.

just updated to android 13 (64.1.x) from 64.0.x firmware - same problem except on the way home it was worse than it has ever been before, crashed / disconnected every 5 minutes and reconnected... extremely annoying.
i have 1 IV and don't have crashes. But generally, not as reliable as it was with my XZ2.
Car is Peugeot 3008 mk2 from 2017. Wireless does not work at all but don't really care about that because it just drains battery instead of charging. Now, charging........sometimes it does not charge despite having AA active and using sat nav. Cable that I used with XZ2 (ugreen) does not work at all for AA. And most of the time not even for data on laptop. Cable from XZ2 works with AA every time, did a 5000km trip a few months back, no issues. Except it does not charge sometimes, LED is on, sign for charging is on but battery charge goes down.
Try cleaning the AA app cache. I had same issues w/ my Pixel after update.

Yeah, I've tried that including completely removing / reinstalling app etc.
Now trying on another phone (yes, another 5 IV) which is set up from scratch without restoring from backup.
I have exactly the same behavior with Xperia 5 IV on both Android 12 and 13. Random crashes. Sometime it works for 1 hour, sometimes 5 minutes. It appears to be worse with Android 13.
I tried changing cable, I even bought a new one... no change.
I don't have AA wireless but it does not appear to be cable related. When the crash occurs, my smartwatch (BT) is disconnected.

Hep, another one here!
i'm trying to remove apps one by one now...
Well, I had 1 hours without any crash... after enabling the debug layer for android auto. I didn't notice any difference or additional info but no crash.
Hey Guys; I am facing the same issue. Just, that it's not related to Android Auto.
Many apps were crashing just randomly.
For example, like Tidal, sometimes it was playing music for hours and sometimes just for a few minutes until it crashed.
So I enabled a feature in developer mode which allows to show a crashing dialog. And just a few moments later the nextcloud app crashed and the error message was something like "out of memory".
Looking in to it => Yep, there it was => the OS is holding almost all of the available memory.
So, you might want to check your memory in Settings => Developer Options => Memory.
And since I almost bricked my device last night, I just flashed the latest 64.1.A.0.857 via newflasher and at the moment (fresh OS) it seems to be better - but I will surley find out these days.
Merry Christmas everyone ...
Hi guys, I had similar problems with Android auto. I did a software repair with Xperia Companion, since then AA works fine.
