I've been working on creating the basic device tree needed to get the latest TWRP built for our Honor 7s and most importantly, accepted as an official TWRP recovery.
Edit: We're now official! Download from the TWRP website.
Test updated version:

Being officially supported by TWRP means that future recovery versions will be automatically built (and you'll be able to install using their tool from the Play Store), so it's worthwhile effort getting to this point.
Flash in the usual way, using 'fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-plank-test.img' and let me know how you get on. Cheers!

I've seen that on a bunch of devices actually. Wonder if it's related to the 'secure wiping'...

go to settings and select "Use rm -rf instead of formatting" it will go faster

well done
you lot are excellent!
by the way, what is the difference between yours and @jemmini twrp3?
Post
also, when is it going to become official TWRP?
any bugs?
thanks a lot and keep the good work coming!

I imagine they will be basically the same.
It should become official TWRP as soon as a feature we need merged in is actioned and my work is OK'd. Hopefully not too long.
The Gerrit change (to fix a problem with the touchscreen when recovery first boots) that we need is here - https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/c/17768/.

Thanks!

Tested on B180 Lollipop, wiped cache and dalvik, used rm -rf instead of formatting option and very quick wiping. Made a back-up and one error report about being ''unable to locate 3rmodem partition for backup calculation'', but I think we just probably don't have this partition on our phone?
This version also remembered all my settings, time zone, timeouts etc from previous TWRP version.
All seems good so far.

Hello, recovery .

WARNING! I'VE TRIED TO FLASH THIS TWICE, a older build and one of the latest. Both times it completely erased EVERYTHING on my phone. I downloaded one one for recovery, wiped system, data, cache and flashed. It times out with unknown something than EVERY partition has to be formatted to a different format then back to EXT4 for me to be able to flash anything else.. maybe it's just my bad luck but are there any steps besides wiping and flashing? (Make a backup of everything first people)

I think it is beceause the .zip files are not signed.
If you want FFos as primary OS, you should flash it via fastboot.
Might be very nice of you to add something like "this isn't to be flashed via recovery like normal ROM unless using MULTIROOOOOOM" to OP now that you're aware, unless there's a way to sign these

The only way I know to update without deleting the previous version is to flash FFos as primary rom and flash updates via recovery.
If you want daily changelog, you can read code commits : https://github.com/mozilla-b2g/gaia/commits/master
But it's not easy to understand.
Or you have global changelogs links in the first post.

The N5X version of this update was released yesterday had some performance improvements and more: http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...emp-option-performance-improvements-and-more/
A reddit user named GoogleNexusCM, who claims to be the Nexus product forum manager posted this the 6P subreddit
I want to let you all know that an OTA update will begin rolling out today for the 6P. We value and listen to your feedback, and this update includes a number of bug fixes that will improve overall stability and performance on the Nexus 6P.
Click to collapse
The fixes for this build are similar to the ones I mentioned for the 5X. Some of the fixes will help with/address:
General device performance
DND next alarm disappearing issue
Carrier-specific bug fixes
Connectivity improvements
I also should mention that the builds mentioned on the developers site are carrier specific, with the majority of carriers worldwide being on MHC19I (5X equivalent - MHC19J).

So, I guess the question is... whether these fixes are also incorporated in the MMB29V build and if not, is there is a AOSP build coming for devs.
Great Google. I flashed the latest image like usual but now I´m asked for a password in TWRP which ofc I´ve never set. Thanks a lot. That´s what you get if you want to try the latest stuff.

This thread is about the MHC19I update, not Android N...
I used Flashfire to flash MMB29V again (except recovery and data) and everything seems to be fine now. Bootloader and Radio stay at the higher version. Terminal and TWRP work again.
Bro I'm on N...but my twrp is gone completely.. Do I just flash it again?

TWRP might not be compatible with N, I would wait. Sounds like you flashed the factory IMG and all of its contents. Your recovery is now stock recovery, and all your data is wiped on your phone anyway

Hey, I noticed some weird stuff when I started playing around a bit after flashing back to MMB29V. (developer options wouldn't work, quick settings wouldn't come down from the dropdown). And yes, I was on MMB29V when I flashed MHC19I.
Now that I can get into TWRP, I can at least restore my backup. It will complain that system is mounted as Read Only. Just go to "Mount" in TWRP and uncheck the "mount system in Read Only" checkbox and Put a checkmark next to "System" in the list of partitions to mount. My nandroid is restoring right now. I'll update when it is complete.
EDIT: Nandroid restored and all is good again!

Well, I felt that
Update is not that exciting
Everything is same as mini 8
This has better stability
Good carrier connection till now
Has added features of global development rom
Camera captures from fingerprint also.
Little bit better battery I feel.
For me first boot Took really long time.

100% you won't lose unlocked bootloader. Twrp, even if lost it might be due to some mistake during flashing, can be recovered by flashing it using fastboot mode. You may have to wipe (just wipe no need to format anything in data partition) before installation. I think dirty flash won't work.

Backup-Restore function working fine so far, only issue I am seeing is phone is heating up pretty faster than before while backing up in compression mode.
Another minor thing is that earlier when entering recovery mode a purple light used to blink, now its missing.

Weird. Try using flash tool to fastboot the image if the flashable zip doesn't work for you.
Updated from TWRP, backup/restore works, no problems so far apart from it needs more than a minute till TWRP GUI appears after boot. Thanks for update.
Do you use the stock kernel? I installed the recovery built by oshmoun in the omnirom thread. It uses the aosp kernel. It starts faster, has a better sdcard naming and can flash oem images. Maybe you could try this kernel.
I use stock kernel (Pexorom 4.5) so this may be the reason for the delay.
I mean the kernel used with the recovery, not the rom kernel.

This is what i did. Download img, place file on phone. Download twrp app, pick choose a file, browse to recovery.img, flash. Power off, boot to recovery = win.

Same result, whether fastboot or flashtool, display is dead.
Certainly missed ODM LOIRE v12, v11 is installed.
Not really sure is the latest bootloader.
Does restoring a backup change the bootloader as well?
Edit: Solved: the answer is 'yes'.
3.2.1 does not work @7.1.2 restore because of outdated bootloader.

What I do not understand, maybe bootloader or encryption, but why is 3.2.1 not backwards compatible on Suzu?
Is Omni 7.1.2 kernel (more I have not tried) or not current boot loader the reason?
Installed on last nougat internal storage 0 help

I'm glad that you finally managed to crack this damn decryption. I felt really bad with my broken promise of delivering the working build. I'm sorry, guys. @Chippa_a congratulations on your hard work

If you want to flash it using Fastboot download this https://anonfiles.com/f8j2S2Ebp1/OrangeFox-Unofficial-gauguin_img (I can't upload this to xda i don't know why)

Thanks for this mate installed, never used OrangeFox before, I'm more familiar with TWRP but it's really cool. Haven't found any passive bugs, should another Lineage or newer custom ROM build come out like Pixel Experience come out, I'll give it a try and let you know if there's any other bugs! Decryption works fine, flashlight and all storage works correctly (including external SD)

Nice!
The graphical bug is gone.
The Time in the top right corner is in the right position.
I finally get the Decrypt window like intended like on TWRP.
I also stopped having the freezing problem whenever i get into recovery.
One problem i saw now is that whenever "Use 24 hour clock" is ticked, it says 10:46, and when its off its 10:46am, correct would be 22:46
