Weird QC 3.0 charger effect - LG G5 Questions & Answers

I have an HTC QC 3.0 charger that I am trying to use with my G5. It charges the phone ok, but the display will not stay off. I turn the display off using the power button and it goes off. Then after a few seconds it comes back on to the lock screen (I have smart lock turned on and it is enabled by my being at home). After a few seconds the screen turns off again because there was no activity to unlock the screen. This repeats continually. This does not happen with the stock G5 charger. (or with non-QC chargers either) I have lock screen notifications turned off, always on turned off. Any ideas?

My phone has started and stopped charging twice since in have had it. This was happening repeatedly every 20 to 30 seconds. It would turn the screen on each time. Not sure why it was doing it. Maybe That was the case with you?

Sounds similar. I'm pretty sure mine is charging the entire time, the display just keeps turning on and off.

Another friend of mine had the issue, got a replacement for his.

For the charger, or for the phone?

I'm having this very problem with a secondary (original) charger I bought, on charger that came with phone, everything works OK.
I'm not sure if the problem is with the charger...
Any help?

Factory reset the phone

The Galaxy tab usually can not be charged via USB ports due to too low voltage.
Try plugging your GT into the outlet and charging it.
(and yes no charging status lights are very annoying)
Had the same
I had the same problem about a week ago. We had storm and the power went out. My Tab somehow list voltage and went into deep sleep mode. So in the morning when I went to trun it on, it woulndt and I had to connect it to my PC to make it wake up.

Did you try to hold the power button longer then 10 seconds?
fixed (temporary??)
I was able to get it to work again...i visited the samsung website and it told me to charge it for one hour...and then unplug it and then hold the power for 15 seconds...but the same thing happened again after a couple hours of using...the same process works but i think i might send it in to samsung to fix
Hey, my GT10.1 is also behaving the same way. I am not sure what happened but now no matter which wall charger I use, it will not charge my GT10.1.
Even though it does not show the charging indication on the screen, I let it charge overnight. Now I try to turn it on with holding the power button down for like 30 seconds to 1 minute.. still no luck.
It seems like it has no battery and the charger would not charge.
What do I do now.. is there a way to force it into boot or bootloader or whatever?
Thanks!
Try pushing your thumb on the screen and holding power button for like 10-15 seconds. Happened twice to me and hasn't happened again.

I also have exactly the same problem. Have you got any solution? I tried all combinations. I heard this problem relates to the firmware???? Really hope it is not the hardware. Been stayed blank for 3 days now. HELP.......

Sigh, I guess the only solution is to send it to a samsung service center...
I got my UPS labels done, but before doing so, I would like to go back to Bestbuy (where I got my tablet) and see if I can just get a brand new replacement since I bought just about 2 months ago.

My Rezound Takes A Charge But Sometimes Stops

Hey everyone! So my phone started doing this really odd thing today...it'll charge, orange light is on...and then poof, light turns off and it stops charging. Sometimes it'll do it in 5 mins, sometimes it won't do it at all. Any idea what could be going on? If I remove the USB and then plug it right back in, it'll start charging every time.

If it's a wall charger - bad charger
If PC then PC is turning off USB
Or it could simply be a bad battery or charging circuit in phone.
Try different ways of charging to narrow it down

is this an OEM cord and charger? i know when i bought a cheap knock off cord and charger from ebay for my INC it did the same thing. I send it back and the seller sent me a new one but when i had it plugged in the screen because unresponsive couldnt touch a thing till i unpluged it. ended up just buying and OEM one from htc.
I've tried different cords and chargers, I think the phone is crapping out. Now it won't go into vibrate mode and it keeps auto docking even though I don't tell it to....sigh.

That sounds like a problem with the port. I've had the same problem on a different phone in the past. Try cleaning the port if you can. Otherwise, just call for a replacement.

[Q] Help With Permanent Screen Lock or Possible Battery Short

I woke up this morning, phone worked fine. Used it throughout the day, and then come about an hour ago, the screen will not turn on, nor respond to being plugged into the charger, whether USB through the PC or wall charger.
I know my battery was rather high, so it isn't dead. I had a friend call me and she informed me that my phone rang normally, then went to voicemail, but my phone didn't ring, nor vibrate, nor even light up. I can't tell if it's stuck locked or if the battery got knocked loose somehow or something else internal.
I haven't dropped it, there's no water damage, nothing of note that I'd think would cause this.
Is there any further troubleshooting one could suggest I do before I crack and get it replaced through ATT?

Sounds like BSoD (black screen of death). Try holding power button down for 15 seconds, release, and repeat.

That just happened to me this morning. I was at 90% the screen shut off and no response since. I tried the power button for 15 seconds then again nothing. So I proceeded to take the back cover off and do a battery pull still nothing. Any help would be great this is my only device and warranty department is not an option.
I had a similar issue after using a wonky charger. It bricked the phone. But sending it in to LG was no problem, and after a week without it, I get it back tomorrow.

G watch is frozen.

Looked at my watch and noticed the time was about an hour off.. The watch is completely frozen. I've tried placing it on the charging dock, also pressing the reset button for up to 30 seconds. And looking within the android wear app for a restart option all to no avail. Anyone know how to restart it?

Is the display still on? Maybe once the battery dies you can get it to reboot on the charger. Keep us posted!
I also frozen my GWatch 2 days ago and I restarted it after push the reset button for 10s.

Yes the display is still on. I was hoping to not have to wait for it to die.. Ugh but thanks!
Solved (well kinda): letting the device drain the battery over night and when I woke up the screen was black.. Placed it on the charger and all seems good now. I just wish there was a way to restart it without having to let it die.. Luckily I was home all day yesterday.. But if it would have froze while I was at work I would have been without it all day. That's kinda scary because I need a watch at work in my profession.

Look on the back. There is a hole where u can stick a paperclip or something same in to reset
my watch seems died. Left it on the charging cradle all night long, this morning i found it off with no way to turn it on. Placing on the cradle again shows the full battery icon, but the screen is totally black. Tried to use the little button on the back of the watch for about 10 sec with no results... any suggest but rma?

Maybe try letting the battery run dead? That is what I had to do in order to get mine to reset

the thing is, seems like the watch is off, so i guess it won't go out of battery...

Can you take it in a dark room? Is the backlight on?.. If not then yeah I would try returning it where you purchased it.
backlight seems off. i'll try again with the cradle once i'll be back home, but i do think that rma is the only way
update: seems like the charger i use no longer charge my gwatch. I connected the watch to my pc with another usb cable, and after some seconds it boots up
battery was completely drained (0%) so that's the cause of the problem. now, i tried to charge my phone with the same charger i use for the watch and it seems ok, so i'll probably have to discover why it didn't charge my watch until battery gone 0%...

help, constant reboot. it's not a bootloop

hello guys, someone who knows what's wrong with my g2.
The phone would turn off, and it would stop in the LG logo for a minute and restart, connect the charger and turn on. But then it turned off and the gif happened; it restarts constantly, I can not tur on .
It is not a "brick." When it was completely downloaded, it was returned to stock ROM, it turned on for a few minutes, but it returned to the same state
Can it be the battery ?
It seems like a problem with the battery or in the power supply circuit.
Take it to a technician or something.
Is it also happening with the charger attached? If it isn't, it might actually be the battery. I think replacements are still aviable.

3 days ago, when the problem started, when connecting the charger; the phone was on. Now it happens, the image attached to the post.
When I turn it on without charger it goes on. When I try to wipe, or enter TWRP.
