---------- Post added at 03:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:59 PM ----------
They say DONT USE flashtool above 0.9.18.6 but i used 0.9.25.0 and bricked totally my phone my fault but i had no choice because phone (C4 E5303) was already soft-bricked after trying to flash Android Pie 9.0 with img files with fastboot adb commands it was softbricked i think and as someone else mentioned when i flashed USERDATA.img or SYSTEM.img that happened and lastly i flashed normal ftf xperifirm firmware (lollipop 5.1 it said flashing finished )with flashtool 0.9.25.0 i hardbricked it and now only red light is on when connected to charger!!! I think its not even charging hehe noob! I guess i have to buy new phone as it is not repairable i think was very good phone only problem as it is well known was the battery running better on 5.1 lollipop than 6.0 marshmallow why i continued after that i dont know...i wanted newer version and i ended up with no phone hehehe!!

Flashtool with the choice of flashing in different speeds was the right for me the first time i flashed lollipop 5.1 which was the first version i got when bought it i chose minimum speed with some data wiped in the wipe selection because it was flicking when booting the phone wasn't working but with speed lowered it was OK but when i reinstalled different version below 0.9.18.6 the flash speed wasnt there and even in the one where i tuned it irt disappeared i think i dont know why thats why i wnet to use above 0.9.18.6 version of flashtool specifically the one before newest (which on flashtoll site says c4 and c5 can brick withis version) 0.9.25.0
I dont know maybe i amde something wrong but i think the speed choice and simulation all of these were not there for some reason which if didnt happen i wouldnt hard bricked my phone anyways......should have kept 5.1 lollipop was very good faster than 6.0!!

Please Help...!
Same problem as above mention..! :crying::crying:
Please give solutions on this problem and thanks in advance.

There's no known solution to that.
On the same Flashtool website it clarifies that you should not use it if you own a C4/C5 Ultra or you will have hardbrick

i tried to consult to service center guys they say as my device is rooted they can't help me fix this problem....
i don't want to loose my phone please help me.... every thing in my phone is brand new and original but as i use custom kernel & rom ...so they are not accepting my phone ....

Have you checked that flash mode is not working?
Is it charging when connected to the PC, try another USB cable.
No wifi wuth and without SIM installed?
How this problem began, have you dropped your phone or installed some software?

yes i checked .. flash mode is not working not even fastboot mode ...
yes it's charging ...i tried 4-5 different cables ...i also checked cables with my brother's phone they were working fine...
it started a week before everything was working great i tried to connect my device i thought it would b new rom's problem so it will b fixed... so i try to flash other rom but accidentally i formatted system after wiping data and factory reset ... but that rom hangs as it says unable to mount system...
i try the older rom it flashed but in about phone there's baseband version is unknown, wifi was not turning on and i can't gain root access via terminal emulator or titanium backup or any other root app...
i thought to revert everything back via flashtool but my device couldn't be connected in flash mode... green light goes on n turned to red again and battery start to charge ...
sorry for wrong english ...
but thanks for your interest and reply ...

Did flashtool worked on the same PC before, I mean to make sure it's not driver issue, or USB 3 portm and the phone is shut down with power + volume up untill you feel 3 vibrations.

Make sure the phone is off before you do.

i also try to get it diagnosed at local street repair shop as sony service center guys behaved really bad with me ... not even check my device they turn it on instead of sony logo it shows nemesis kernel logo so they say your device is rooted we can't accept it ...
i felt v.bad ...
local street repair guy told me to leave my device with hi for a day or 2 ... but i don't trust them so i couldn't do that...
he told me that port is ok it might b an ic chip which get's fungus or any kind of short circuit is happening there only ...
i m totally confused
thanks for ur reply

Just open flashtool lwindow, no flash anything, and connect your device in fastboot mode.
Anything in the log?
It might be the USB connection, I tried to fastboot connecting to my charger, the led turn on blue for 5 seconds then go to charging.
Same with flash mode.

Looks like hardware problem to be, either the connecter itself or chip.
How much would it cost to replace it, or maybe can they check connectivity.
If you enter CWM and connect it to the PC is there any indication it's connected?

i also tried that too in CWm too there's no sign of any connection in pc ...
service center guy said that replacing port is not possible so they had to replace complete board ... n that will cost around 80% of cost of device....
but they won't do it as my device is rooted ...
This happened with my S3 just recently and they swore it wasn't the USB connector if it would charge. I called T-Mobile and got upset and told them I plug in an identical S3 and it shows immediately with mine it won't not even in download mode. They swapped it out for me.
If possible just flash stock firmware via cwm. And send to service center
Correct me if I'm wrong

I think even if your device back to stock rom the service center not going to fix it,Why?Because flash a custom kernel mean that u already unlocked the bootloader. If going back to stock rom fix your phone that ok but if not you can't relocked your bootloader that still the same

My C5 Dead, Be careful Flashing Latest Firmware

I used my C5 with E5563_29.1.B.0.87_1296-9001_R4A firmware for 3 month until yesterday.
I rooted, have recovery installed and everything was just fine.
But It died when flashing E5563_29.1.B.0.101_1296-9001_R4A.ftf.
I used Flashtool 0.9.21.0 x64 and used xperifirm to download firmware
I have been flashed Sony devices for yearss and I didn't noticed anything wrong.
Battery was fine, Flashtool didn't report any errors for all downloading and flashing procedure.
But my C5 just hardbricked.
No flashmode, No fastboot, Charging animation and red led working but that's all.
When connect to PC it is recoginzed as "USB Serial Device (COM4)"
I can't find any possible way to recover hardbricked C5.
It is frustrating.

You don't need custom recovery for this mod to work, just replace the correct apk file and change the permissions to rw-r--r--
You should be rooted to replace the apk. Please read the instructions in the original post carefully.

Your phone stuck on flashmode( most mediatek with non removable batts).. Just simply charge it overnight using your wall charger( it won't charge anyway). When you wake up hopefully it's alive again...

It clearly states on the flashtool download page and on here on the flashtool page/thread NOT to use flashtool to flash c4+c5 mediatek powered Xperia devices as this will result in a hard brick I.e. You now have a permanent paperweight no idea why it is only those two mediatek Xperias as the xa works fine with flashtool.

I was using Pack-Flashtool-v5.1640.00.000, already tried with 5.17 as well.
The phone does not turn on, does not appear to be charging.
Only the computer recognizes it, when I try to use the flashtool again presents me with a lot of errors, which I did not give before, it's just the red bar.
Try keeping the phone on until the battery drains out, I was stuck on a similar situation once.

Try keeping the phone on until battery drains out, I was in a similar situation once.

[SOLVED] J9110 bootloop

Got a J9110 which was on 55.1.A.0.748 (Customized NOBA with CDA 1318-7934).
Connected it to the PC to flash 55.1.A.3.49 (Customized UK with CDA 1319-2846).
Flash was successful, but now the device won't boot.
Every time you try to turn it on it says 'Your device is corrupt it can't be trusted and will not boot'.
Any suggestions on what to do?
Tried flashing with newflasher and flashtool, same result.
EDIT: Solved. See post here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81636785&postcount=8
Use Xperia Companion to repair firmware. User data will be lost.

Xperia Companion is being painfully slow for me, downloading at 1.5 Mbps. It will never get done at that rate.
I found an old Nordic FTF for the J9110. It's based on Android Pie, but I flashed that, and the phone boots up just fine.
When I flash Customized UK, it doesn't boot and gives me the error shown above.
I have read flashtool now supports Xperia 1 if you would like to try that route.
You have to erase user data when flashing or you will get a bootloop, at least for me.
Or like someone else said, use repair on xperia companion.
I have this problem too before, but what i do is using xperia companion and software repair.
But u have too used good usb c cable... This problem will occur if u use cheap cable
The problem might be the Antivirus too!
*Disable it.
*Try using the different cable than provided because once my phone didn't work with the USB C to USB C connection cable(had to use old cable from Sony Phone).
Meanwhile, If you can flash lower version or other region ftf then all is Okay with your phone.
I find Flashtool as the safe tool to do so.
Maybe tick the erase userdata while flashing.

For the "Your device is corrupt it can't be trusted and will not boot " reason; I had to replace the board in repair center.
It never booted to flashmode but I could boot to fastboot and that didn't help.
You are luck enough that the lower version worked for you.

Thank you all for the responses.
Turns out the firmware I had downloaded from XperiFirm was corrupt.
I deleted it and re-downloaded a fresh copy and it worked just fine.
I was going crazy because I had wiped userdata several times and it refused to boot.
Oh great.
All the best. ?
