Tablet pc help.Dont click if you dont know about tablets - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So,I decided to download a bunch of xposed modules on my generic tablet and i used the APM+ module and rebooted into the bootloader. However it is stuck at boot and i cant do anything.I already drained the battery and still it doesnt even go to thr lock screen.I also tryed to hold the power button down but same thing.I have the firmware for it but i dont want to lose everything on my tablet.I dont remember what modules i installed but i think it was a adblocker,a lucky patcher xposed module, apm module, and thats about it.I tryed connecting it to a pc and installing adb drivers but in adb theres no devices. Its a quad core a33 tablet created by IRULU it has 16gb of storage and 400mb ram.It was rooted with kingroot using dragonface with is a custom rom creator for windows. The tablet has the lastest version of busybox and adb was activated before this happened.I also gave adb root permissions in kingroot. The tablets is a couple months old.Its a IRULU x7 tablet with no bluetooth or g-sensor.It has 2 cameras. No custom recovery.I dot have any mods on its except for xposed. Its is andriod 4.4.2 kitkat OS.Which has volume buttons. Can anyone help me.Thank you.Let me know if i need more info.[emoji2] by the way i think i activated about 6 xposed modules all at once[emoji12]The bootloader is locked since it is a custom rom.I just injected su files into the system root.

A custom rom doesn't have a locked bootloader and if you flashed xposed then you can flash the Uninstaller.
I'll be honest with that ram alone you are gonna be out of luck. The min ram for android to even run semi well is 512mb. Anything less and the system will have issues.

ok.I will have to reflash the tablet

Just use the xposed uninstaller. This will save you from reflashing the device.

i dont have a custom recovery to flash the file because none exist for my brand. And to make it worse,I cant even boot into recovery because its stuck on the first startup screen.ADB drivers are installed but adb devices not showing up.I know that i activated adb incase something like this happened and i let Kingroot give adb root permissions as well.

[Z2,Z3] Root and recovery stock 5.1.1 264 ROM no data loss - proper easy way

Rooting and romming Sony devices is a little harder than most android devices, some things work a little different. The scattered info doesn't make this any easier either. I had to find this out the hard way, softbricked my Xperia in the process, but I finally did it. I see that there still are people that wish to root stock 5.1.1 and that there are no unified proper instructions to do this so here is my process and guide. Good luck.
There are many ways to do this, but it includes flashing your Xperia to earlier firmware then rooting and installing the recovery and then flashing back the newest firmware, so I made this little guide to make things easier for Sony newcomers. This process should be compatible with Z1, Z2 and Z3(c) - but ofcourse its made for Z2, for Z1 and Z3 download recovery files for your model respectively.
You won't loose any of your data on your stock ROM if you do this correctly.
You'll need a Windows PC, 7, 8.1, 10. (Mac and Linux are also supported)
1. Root your Z with Kingroot.apk v4.6 and v4.8 work flawlessly. Just download and install as normal apk and hit the big blue button. You have to have internet connection for this to work. It will root your Z automatically after cca. 2m.
Kingroot app is basically a super su app from a different developer. Congrats, you now have root.
2. To install a recovery do not use any flashing apps by TWRP or similar, it wont work. We will use XDZR.
XZDR is Xperia Z Dual Recovery, its basically Philz recovery and TWRP recovery flashed together. You enter Philz holding vol up and TWRP holding vol down when powering up your xperia. * Search for NUT's dual recovery for more info.
Download the recovery from here:
http://nut.xperia-files.com/path/XZDualRecovery
(Download the correct .zip for your Xperia model).
3. Download the. zip to your PC.
4. Connect your phone via USB after you have enabled USB debugging on your xperia. If you have correct Sony drivers installed your PC will recognize your device and a dialog will pop up on your phone (about allowing USB debugging from this PC). Allow the access.
5. Unpack the zip you downloaded to a random folder on your PC. Here run the install.bat if you're on a Win PC. Bat will run and here you just choose the first option, type 1 and follow the on screen instructions, keep an eye on your phone, it will pop up a couple of yes - no dialogs. Allow the access and ADB access and wait, it will be fast.
When you reboot you will see a green LED light up while SONY splash is shown, this is when you hold up or down for one of the two recoveries.
Down is for TWRP and up is for Philz.
6. Download superSU from here:
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/
Boot to system again and now you can unroot your phone trough Kingroot app (general settings) and then reboot to recovery again and flash the file from this link, you will get the super su app and super su binaries and this way you're fully rooted and will have dual recovery for your full flashing pleasure.
* Remember that you first need to unroot and uninstall Kingroot app and then flash Super su, otherwise you risk a bootloop or just not functional root access.
* Do not flash newer TWRP or any recovery or youll loose your recovery.
* I am not responsible if something goes wrong with your device.
And thats it, you have your data intact, stock 5.1.1 ROM, fully functional root access with super su and two recoveries, intact BL and DRM keys and you can flash almost anything that supports LB (locked bootloader).
Hey.
I have a few questions.
Does installing recovery void the warranty? Can the XZDualRecovery be uninstalled easily? Can I still update to Marshmallow via official update when it comes out when I have recovery installed on my phone?
Thanks!

I think that Sony does void warranty if you do an "unauthorized software changes" and changing software in any other way than trough OTA is unauthorized by Sony, so yes. But you can completely restore your device to factory state by flashing an official FTF image trough flashtool and restore Sonys recovery and basically get your warranty back.
If you follow the above steps installation of XZDR is quite easy and fast.
You will be able to update to official MM by flashing MM FTF image trough flashtool and restore your phone to "official" software state. But with XZD recovery you will be able to flash leaked MM from beta program even sooner and easier.
This guide does not unlock your BL and does nothing irreversible to your phone * providing you do everything correctly.
Thanks for answering! Much appreciated!

Rooting with this method wont unlock your boot loader so there is no need for that, your DRM keys wont be touched.

You can leave it as is, you will have full root functionality. Of course you can also update binaries to have up to date bug fixes and security patches, update trough normal method works fine.
@5ageman Hi. Thanks for the tutorial. I m a noob in this rooting stuff. Last night i rooted my phone Xperia Z2 5.1.1 using kingroot bcos i was scared of rooting with some other steps and bricking my phone. But then i realized that xposed wont install unless i have custom recovery. But i m quiet confused with few things related to root even after reading so many posts. So just need to know what exactly recovery is. Like when i restart my phone and then press vol up or down key what will exactly happen? Is this something like safe mode and some other mode in laptops??

Recovery is actually closest to BIOS in PC terms although its much more. Xperia Z2 has no recovery by default, you'll need to flash it manually. See step 2. And only then you can eter recovery. By pressing vol down when the green LED lights up you will enter TWRP a custom recovery made by Team Win Recovery Project. Nothing will happen if you do nothig, you wont accidentaly wipe or brick your Z2. If unsure what to do next just tap the reboot button and then system to reboot to system as nothing happened. Go step by step, no hurry.
@5ageman thanks alot for ur answer. Now my doubt is clear.
But i have few more questions related to ur tut.
1- i have already rebooted my phone a number of times after rooting it. Like for some other purpose and not for recovery or super su. So will the tut work for me as i read somewhere that one need not restart the phone after rooting using kingroot and install recovery directly. Or if it was for some other device i dont remember.
2 - According to the end of step 5 and step 6, does that mean that i have to download super su from chainfire while i m still in recovery mode? And once agn in the system after uninstalling kingroot and rebooting in recovery do i have to install SuperSU in the recovery mode? If yes then how?
3- last question. Entering recovery is just vol down button or power + vol down both.
Once again sorry for such basic questions but i m completely new in the world of rooting plus i want to make sure i know what i m doing.
Thanks for ur patience. Appreciate.

1. You cannot install recovery directly from the system on Z2 like on other phones, Z2 has no recovery partition. This can only be done with unlocked bootloader. Just make sure you have a working root access with Kingroot and USB debugging enabled when you connect your Z2 to a PC.
2. Download superSU from chainfire while still in system, then reboot to recovery and flash it trough recovery. It's a flashable zip. Before booting to recovery unroot your phone trough Kingroot app. SuperSU zip will flash su binaries and the app to system partition automatically and will root your phone again. Rooting trough Kingroot is done only to flash the recovery, then its deleted.
3. After you successfully install tge recovery when you power on your Z2 it will vibrate and flash green LED on sony bios logo. Then you hold down vol down key until led flashes purple. Afterward it will boot to recovery.

@5ageman Thanks for ur reply. but i have few more things to say..
1- no i didnt mean in the system. What i read was that when u root with kingroot u r nt suppose to reboot until u install recovery. Otherwise it might cos prbs and nt install SuperSU.
2- What does flashable exactly mean. Is it nt just installing? I dload the superSU from chainfire while in the system and install in the recovery, right? Where will i find the zip to install it? (sorry... Had to ask)
3- i think i got that...i ll knw that exactly when i try it...lol

1. You wont face any issues if you reboot, but you dont have to. Just plug your phone to PC while your phone is in android. Yes you download in system and then install - flash in recovery by tapping "install" and then you navigate to supersu.zip and select it and then swipe to flash it. The supersu.zip will be there where you download it, most likely on internal storage in download folder.
2. Flashable means its installed trough recovery - its flashed as opposed to being installed normally in android system.
So is it safe to root my Z2 with this? I have 15.1.1 264 stock rom, is this safe?

Z2 not booting into recovery, recover installed...

Hi,
I am unable to access recovery on my Z2.
I've tried several installation methods for the recovery
When I boot up the phone, the notification light turns green and then red for a short time.
Therefore I assume that recovery is installed.
Pressing volume down or volume up doesn't do the job.
The phone is on rooted stock LP and locked bootloader.
Any idea what's going wrong?
Solved: Updated ADB drivers on windows and re-downloaded Nuts Dual Recovery

A pre-rooted zip should have root already in it.
But if not, Kingroot should do just fine.

MTK6580, everything that cant work, isnt working :( Help Please!!

Just got a uhappy up580 mtk6580 5.1LP phone.
All sorts of problems with it if I try to do anything with it, as stock it works great, no issues. Install kingroot as thats the only way to root it, Ive tried them all... Cannot remove kingroot for super SU using ANY way including superSUme, all things on here and needrom etc... cant do it.
I cant unlock the bootloader using everything I've found on here, from simply selecting it in settings to ADB on the PC and terminal in root shell, says 'not permitted' or 'not allowed' or rewboots to a selection screen and the volume up button to select it wont work.
Cannot remove install.recovery.sh using an old esfile explore, root explore, adb root shell on PC and terminal etc... all say, not permitted or 'system is r/o' Used commands to r/w system but again, this isnt allowed/permitted.
Installed chainfires 'secureADB' I think it was called to allow ADB to to be used root in system, does nothing.
MTKdroidTools doesnt work on MTK6580 so cant get CWM recovery flashed that way.
Have downloaded numerous CWM/PhilzTouch/TWRP and tried to flash them with SPtools, and removing battery before rebooting recovery and that also, doesnt work.
MTKunpacktools cant unpack the recovery.img of stock rom....
Am really at the end of my tether now.
I have the full stock rom installed, and a full SPFlashTools stock back-up if anyone has any ideas? All I'm really wanting is Xposed installed, thats it, and know with another chainfire app I can flash a zip without a recovery, but needs super SU which I cant get installed....
Dont worry, sorted it.

viper4android broke my root ( bootloop) need to recover from that [WIP]

so i tried to install viper4android and the driver made my phone be stuck at boot, ( i got it to boot by using the unpached boot image, but now i lost my root functionality)
so what i need is a modded recovery that supports adb
i found a tutorial in the oneplus forums to modify the recovery and give it adb shell posibilities, but thusfar i am unsuccessfull in modding the recovery
the original post describiong how to mod the recovery is located here
my post asking for help is here
the reason i post this topic is for references mainly,
if there is a solution i will link it here as well, so if anyone else runs into it, the solution can be found easily

sadly i figured that out the hard way
because of the installation of the magisk module, if i use the patched bootloader i keep being stuck in loop.
So if you have any idea how to fix that, that would be nice .
so far the only way i found how to fix this is patching the recovery mode so i could adb from there, but sadly my attempts are unsuccessful
i posted a way to uninstall magisk modules with out a custom recovery on the oneplus one forum, there is a working viper4android for Q that works just fine with out any hassle of getting bootloop which is in the app section on xda viper4android fx 2.7 stable version 2.7.1.6 from march 17 2020, i have installed this version on my phone oneplus7t open beta 2 android 10 and it works just fine. try this out to see if it works i had some issues with a magisjk module and my device was stuck on a bootloop and this got me out of it, the only way i was being able to get in was like you said instlaling the stock boot img with out root, once i installed the boot img with root i would get the bootloop again so i found this method online and it saved my ass with out the need to install any extra stuff worked perfect clearing all the magisk modules from my phone with out losing root.
The way i remove my modules without installing any custom recovery is just by turning off the phone, connect to pc, go to command prompt, type the path of the folder where fastboot and adb is, type the following command: adb wait-for-device shell magisk --remove-modules,(while phone is off) turn phone on wait for it to get to the boot screen it will reboot, once it reboots modules will be uninstalled.

i've been looking in the pixel forums, and i think i also came a cross a post in the oneplus forums, but the command doesn't seem to work. but i guess that's due to not being able to use adb commands
my first idea was to get a recovery that supports adb, but i was unsuccessfull in modifying the recovery.
the same thing seems to happen with th alternative options i found:
what I tried first:
1
I tried to make an updated init file for the boot image that boots magisk in core-only mode. Modules should be disabled in that one.
I compiled magisk, and got the core-only init file, and replaced in the patched boot.img ( instructions I followed are Post #3 on this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-3a-xl/how-to/magisk-modules-disabler-booting-magisk-t3976625
Sadly, this made it still boot loop.
2 I added overlay.dcoreonly1.zip from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-4/how-to/magisk-modules-disabler-booting-magisk-t3991739
Sadly, this also makes it boot loop.
for a second there I thought extracting and repackaging was the issue, but tried that as well with the non-patched boot version, and no problems there.
I cannot seem to figure out why this doesn’t work.
any suggestions are very welcome.
Now back on non-rooted version.
after resetting / factory whiping from the recovery , i repatched everything and am back on root again, so for now the issue is gone, but still it would be nice to have some backup if this goes wrong again, so if anyone has an answer to the above, that would still be nice.
on one of the oneplus forums i found this promesing news:
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/commit/a5d7c41d209527fe7b45a2ef7d031add9b6fad24
so i guess with a new magisk version and booting into safe mode it should be possible to recover.
i've been trying to figure out how to get into safemode, but so far i have no clue.
a google search did not really reveal hw to do that.
Did anyone here find out how to boot into safe mode?

This was indeed the info i was looking for. Thnx for that , ... didn't know it was so simple
i tried it a couple of times, and apparently you need to start pressing volume down when you see the first moto logo
if you hold it down right from the start it won't boot into safe mode
anyway,
This would mean with the new magisk ( when it becomes available ) we would have an easy recovery from a faulty module.
as soon as i find out the how and when, I'll post it here with some instructions

so did you install any other modules for that / do you have a guide for how you got it to work?

Help with rooting Oukitel C15 PRO 3GB V

Hi all,
I'm new here and was wondering if I could get some help.
I recently purchased an Oukitel C15 Pro, which I am now trying to root but without any success.
From my own research, there are 2 versions of the Oukitel C15 Pro, one that is 2 gb ram and another one which is 3gb ram. Mine is the updated version 3gb with V14 build number.
Here is some info:
Build number - OUKITEL_C15 Pro_V14.0_20191121
Baseband - E557_61_P0_LWTG_V0.3.0_S191028
OS - Android 9.0
Processor - MT6761V/WBB - ARMv7 Processor rev 4, 4 cores at 2ghz arm cortex a53
So far I have managed to find the stock rom file and twrp recovery file for Oukitel C15 Pro.
I seem to be having issues with booting into recovery. I have literally tried everything.
I've tried flashing it via adb, trying to boot from adb into recovery etc. I've also tried using the SP flash tool. It does the flashing perfectly fine without any errors as I have already unlocked the bootloader and debugging is on, but the phone just seems to always load into its stock recovery and not twrp.
I've also tried patching the boot file with majisk, again no errors whatsoever, however when trying to boot, it boots into the normal system without any changes being made. I have all drivers installed etc and I honestly have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
I know that on some phones you have to boot directly into recovery after flashing otherwise the stock recovery will overwrite the twrp but again no luck, it just boots into the stock file.
I have also tried booting it via adb directly into recovery once flashed but no luck, normal recovery loads. When I try to do adb sideload I get error E 21 verification failed.
Does anybody have any advice on what I need to do to root my device? Maybe the files I have downloaded are wrong? I have no idea. I'd literally appreciate any help/links etc.
Thank you
You are not alone
