when someone call me the phone app opens as usual and vibrate as normal... but no sound.. i tried many times to change ring tone but nothing.. the phone is not ringing...
Other notifications and sounds play as normal
any suggestion?? (before factory reset)

Does anyone else have the problem that if you have a text tone, email tone & phone ringtone, then try and Mute or put in Vibrate mode the S3, it only mutes the ringtone, both text messages and emails are still heard. Just found that out while in a meeting
Never experienced this before, any ideas?

No, this doesn't happen to me.. if I put the phone on silent everything goes silent.
Then if you open the volume control settings you can see that the icon for notification is crossed out to indicate silent.
Are you on a custom ROM? And how are you enabling silent mode?

I'm on Vodafone stock rom, I use the notification menu and selected Mute or Vibrate and text/email tones come through. I've even turned off the sound using the volume buttons, but these tones are still coming through.
When you go to volume settings do you are the icons crossed out when in silent mode?

I get either the icon mute or icon vibrate mode set in the notification bar area. I think I may end up trying a full reset and installing apps one at a time just in case one is conflicting.
One thing I have noticed is that if I use the volume rocker and turn it to mute, if you click the settings on the right of it, it shows all 3 volume settings and I think this is where it's not muting the other notifications

sometimes when i push home button or simply unlocking the phone a strange sounds appears.Its like a longer beep in 2 tones.sometimes this beep dissapears with a restart, sometimes the beep dissapears if i charge the phone.. ive turned off all sounds and notifications, i've turned off sound for unlocking the phone but the beep its still there.. if i mute the phone i dont hear it anymore. i have to say that is a particular sound..is not same with a ringtone or notification sound. can someone help?

I wanted to know if it's possible to have to phone in a Vibration mode, where only the Call Volume is normal.
When I'm at work (and my phone's on the desk), I want to hear if someone is trying to call me, but don't want the table always vibrating if i get a text or a message in whatsapp..
I do know that in Sound Settings you can have different levels of the volume on different things.. but it doesn't let me turn it to vibrate except the call volume..

I dragged this issue with me since my S7 Edge I had before my new brand S9+. On the S7 Edge the issue would happen 2 or 3 times in a week. But now with my S9+ it's every single day.
Issue: During my workday, I use the silent mode to avoid any noise at work. When I'm back to home, I put back the "normal" sound mode, but here is the issue, the notification volume doesn't go back as it was sin the morning (generally 100%), it stays at 0%. So everytime I quit vibrator or silence mode I have to manually raise the notification volume or I won't get any sound for these.
It's quite annoying and I don't see any subject about that, I checked all settings in my phone but I see nothign related to this.
Any help would be welcome.

Do you get quiet notification sounds? As all my sounds are quiet. If I play a notification sound on zedge ect... it's loud but as soon as I choose it as my notification the volume is very low. I've reset the phone but it's still the same.
Could it be an app you are using?
Well, it could be "quiet" notification since the volume is at 0%, it's not like the sound picture of notification got a line across. Anyway, quiet or muted, I don't hear them and that's the problem.
For the application idea, I really don't know what sort of application could do that? I would like to keep the wipe data/factory reset as a last resort.
Something seems to be resetting my volumes to different levels. I changed System to 0 and set Ringtone and Notification to match, however when I went into volume again this morning, System was at half and it seems like Notification reset itself. Is there some built in Tasker like function on this phone that might be changing things based on some outside variable? If not, this is a really annoying bug.
