Doesn't work on the LG G5, it's so tight, almost damage my connector.

Here is my take on this, I just done the dual sim and microsd card enabled.
You have two option as shown below.
first option using this, but the cost is super expensive and from days of searching only one place sell this, unless someone can get hold of it, there are very similar ones.

Managed to get it working. I just needed to file some of the microsd card at the highest or thickest point on the right hand side when placed on the tray. I wasn't comfortable pushing it in without first doing that as it was apparently tight. Destroyed a couple of sim cards in the process though.

It only works with certain micro sd cards, if you choose to use a larger size like 200GB, it won't work, they are slightly thicker, but certain 128GB does work, and it also depends on the sim that you use, some are made thicker.

They only ship within China, Hong Kong and Macau.
Here is one that ship worldwide, but the cost is 23 times the cost on what I paid for mine, and this one took me weeks to find, but didn't buy it due to the cost.

A friend of mine paid some one in china to do this for him, it's basically same as yours with the micro sd shaved alittle, you can either send them your memory card or buy one from them, if they damage your card, no matter what size, they will only give you back about USD 45, the photo shows the results of the modification.
On the other hand, I had a few 4GB, 16GB and 32GB cards lying around, so I did some shaving of the micro sd, only took 1-2 minutes to do, and yes it's working still, the memory card is not dead yet:fingers-crossed:.
friends.
my shaving of the card.

Yes, you need a dual version to do that.

Don't know what changed but I managed to fit in a 200gb sandisk with the sim slapped underneath it.

That's great. I shaved and destroy my microSD I must going to buy new one and I will post result.

I Did it too
i simply removed my sim card's plastic back with lighter and pasted it on SD card. it was a success but i didnt shaved my sd card so i had to push it a bit hard to insert jacket back into set.

Has anyone else tried this hack? I managed to get the 2nd sim card to work but it wouldn't read the sd card

just got a 64gb sandisk working. Should have used bigger card. LOL

Hi,
Did you have 2 nano sims and a SD card installed without purchasing any separate sim extender?
Thanks

Sim extention, microsd extention or modify card all works without any problem on the G5, remember not all hybrid socket will work on all dual card phones, I also have a sony Xperia XP, sony has done something to prevent people using sim/SD card to work, future phones might do the same.

EDIT:
Just found an X-Acto knife and got it pried out!
It's an 'information card,' so to speak. It's got the serial number and product number on it. That's pretty slick!
Looks like a 3G/4G Touchpad, so its probably the Sim slot.

Nah, I've got a 32GB WiFi Touchpad and it has the slot. It's on all of them. There's a little plastic filler that moves around, but I can't seem to get it out.

Yep. On the 4G model (which is probably never coming out here), it's for a SIM.

I saw a tear down video and they called it a sim card slot.
Lots of HP products have these model/serial tags. Our Proliant servers at work all have them as well. They just pop out when pressed.
Mine pops out with a push as well. SN and MN, no SIM slot. 32GB here.
[Q] Unknown Port South of Volume Rocker
I looked through all of the posts here and couldn't find similar, so don't delete or move.
The area south of the volume rocker that pops out the serial number and FCC info. I have been suspicious of this for some time so I broke mine off. It still slides in and locks in but now I get to remove it.
Well it looks like some kind of port inside. Too big for a card reader unless there is a module that could be placed in the slot. Anybody else looked at this or know what it might be for? Any chance of a mod to make it a SD or MicroSD card reader?
Definitely some kind of expansion port..
okay, wow, this is interesting! perhaps our TP has some hidden qualities, from which we do not know anything yet i´ll stay in touch here...
It's supposed to be a sim card slot, but I forget whether or not most Touchpads have the actual board hardware installed aside from just the port. By the way, what is your TP's model # (from Device Info)?
I may have answered my own question here..
http://www.techrepublic.com/photos/...=11&tag=siu-container;photopaging#photopaging
Probably is a SIM card slot but looks like it wasn't connected to anything but could be room for improvement if anybody is good with that sort of thing..

Model # HSTNH-129C
Hardware Version " A "
This has been known and there is a thread already here. Another user decided to xacto knife his out.
I forgot where I read it, but I'm pretty sure it's a SIM card slot. The casing is the exact same for the upcoming (now-cancelled) TouchPad 4G for At&t. I guess it was a way for HP to cut costs.
it is a placeholder for the simcard slot that would've been available for the touchpad with 3G if HP did not discontinued production. that is all.
it's not a mysterious port, just a safe place to keep your serial number.

This ^. nothing more. Nothing about the "mystery slot" is usable in anyway "as is"
If, in any reach of the imagination a far reached mod involving adding a hardwired hack were possible, maybe, but it would not usable for the masses.
sim card slot ?¿
hi guys , just noticed that my HP touchpad seems to have a misc external slot seems you would put a sim card in there anyone knows what its for ?
its on the same side as the volume rocked at the bottom of the device

(Q) Legit 32gb Micro SD Class 10

Always had & have good luck with PNY's.
why not just go for the 64GB card from sandisk?
every class 10 32GB card i had,Patriot,ADATA and PNY never ran at their rated speeds in real world use(tranfering files) always dropped to 6-7MB/sec write speeds and 18MB/sec read.
This 64GB sandisk class 6 writes between 5-6 and reads over 40MB/sec
they are like $80 but i found an ebayer who had a sale on em last week for $65
heres the result from the sandisk
Legit? I just bought a 64gb class 10 pf ebay for 64 bucks works fine. True class 10.no issues.

Just because it is a class 10 card does not mean it's legit. I hope I am wrong, but try to fill the card to full capacity (just dump any major file you have and try to fill it up). It's not uncommon for scammers to get any old class 10 card and trick the device into thinking it's capacity is greater than advertised. OP be watchful of this and make sure to buy from a reliable source.
There's a guide here on how to detect if the card you own is a fake without having to move files to it.

Oh yes definitely. I didn't mean that directed towards you, sorry if it sounded that way xD just as public knowledge to whoever reads this. There are a LOT of ebay sellers that scam this way and it's a shame. Usually you start to notice if it's a fake (if you don't do the tests I linked above) when you get between 500MB-1GB onto the flash memory and one of two things happen: either you start losing random files or the whole card becomes corrupted and it prompts you to reformat.
A friend of mine who isn't as tech savvy fell for this scam and lost a lot of important data. I'd hate for anyone else to go through that, not to mention the actual loss of money.

HTC Butterfly S announce- Everything the One should be

Seriously... it has 5 inch screen, 3200 MAH battery, micro sd card and the same processor. What do you guys thin? Do you think once again we got the short end of the stick? The HUGE battery is what gets me. I hope it is like the DNA and can work on GSM carriers, I might grab one if the price is right.

I couldn't agree more. I ordered the S4 Active and it will be here tomorrow. I will miss Sense 5 but I had no choice, the battery life was killing me and a 5 inch screen is a sweet spot.
If it has US bands (LTE and so on) I will gladly buy an unlocked version
The battery is bigger than the Note 2's battery. HTC is finally listening to their customers. If only it came with the Snapdragon 800...I would definitely get it. However, our HTC One still looks wayyyyyyy better IMO.

The phone is being made for the Taiwanese market as of right now it doesnt have any LTE bands, US or International. Also its made of glossy plastic instead of the aluminum the one is made of. To those complaining about it being better specced, There will always be better phones in the pipeline, can't always be waiting or looking back and saying we got the short end, you will never be satisfied if you do.
Don't care, still love my one. If you waited to get the next top notch phone then you would never get a new one. I'm happy with the all metal flagship device.

Nope, because:
1. I've already had my phone for months. There's no guarantee what carrier(s) this is going to and what those carriers will do to it.
2. I love the aluminum build of the One.
3. I'd rather have 32 or 64 GB of onboard storage than an SD card option. Google has been (intentionally) making the SD card less and less useful in Android.
4. Apparently, the Butterfly S doesn't have OIS: https://twitter.com/nerdtalker/status/347453833305284608
The speakers don't look very seamless... looks pretty ugly because of that. Hope that isn't the final model. The back looks plastic too.

Mine has definitely take a massive hit , although I'm on vacation in places with extremely spotty reception (Yellowstone) so it may be worse case scenario (I can't even go half a day with light use sometimes). I've resorted to setting the cpu frequency to minimum when screen off with SetCPU and if has seemed to help.
No battery hit here. If anything, I've seen a slight improvement.

Hi,
it is already possible to do it (although I never tried) by modding your second sim as shown in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56131654&postcount=68
Good luck!

Cannot be done. Wasted a good sim. The tray cant go in after the mod. Forcing it in will spoil the pin. I tried cannot work. Dont waste your time.
Omg this mod is perfect, but how we can "take off" the copper from the plastic of the sim and be able to paste it again in the sd card ?
The problem is that, since it's impossible to simply paste the nano sim into the sd card, the width is to big and don't work in tray
How do you take of the copper from the plastic @getmobilephone ?

I used nailfile to make sim and microsd card thinner.
Sharpen it carefully step by step just to prevent them from becoming broken. Then put them together in the slot(it goes there not so smooth as before but now i have 2 simcards and sd operating together)
Results and rate of sharpening you can see on the photos.
Profit.
But be carefull - All that you do is your own risk.
Just for info I damaged one 64Gb card trying to do this.

The fire method involves holding your Sim with a pair of pliers or scissors and heating the plastic part under the chip on a small flame ( matchstick, lighter, candle flame etc) to separate the gold chip from the plastic and gluing the chip to your SD card. Sounds weird but works 100% if you do it well
Thanx, i test it immediately and it seems to work Look at pictures. Now i need the Dual Mate 7

You're welcome
I tried the lighter method and it actually better than the nail file. The plastic and the glue will melt and you can easily take off the chip.
