Baseband: unkown and unable to retrive iMEi - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

I tried unlocking my bootloader unofficially and bricked it, then trying to fix it I may have accidentally wiped all my partitions.
Luckily I followed the guide and unbricked it via the 'teardown' method, flashed V7.2.3.0.LHOCNDA with MI flash and it is now up and running again.
The issue now is I cannot turn on Wi-Fi and the phone cannot detect my sim card. Baseband is unknown and i have no iemi.
I have flashed several different versions and it is still the same.
I am now rooted and have twrp recovery
Could wiping all the partitions do this, is it reversible?
BTW: it a 16gb Pro from china if that helps

[Q] EFS restore error

Hello, I'm new member in here. Today I flashed UltimaROM to my SGS3. Before the flashing I installed Philz touch recovery and saved Nandroid, modem and EFS backups in my PC. After the flashing no IMEI number was shown and I got a message saying " Insert SIM card....". So i tried to restore EFS in custom restore option in philz recovery. Even though it showed restore successful , IMEI number is still unavailable and i couldn't connect to mobile network. I also tried ktools to restore efs but no result. Can someone please help me regarding this issue.
What version firmware did you have before you first flashed? If it was really old then that could be the problem.
Flash a 4.3 stock rom, factory reset them boot and see if your efs is read again.

Thanks for the reply. I had 4.1.2. If I flash 4.3 stock ROM can i retrieve my IMEI ?
If you flash a 4.3 stock it will update your efs to v2 and should enable it to be read in all newer firmwares.

Wont boot

Hey guys my friend has gs3 and when he has trying to install a mod got it stuck in a boot loop. We tried wiping dalvic cache and hard resetting it but to no avail, finally we downloaded paranoid android to flash a new rom but twrp gave us a message saying unable to mount preload we then used odin to reflash cwm and try again but the device freezes at the boot animation. We have decide to try and flash the stock firmware using odin tomorrow. However we have no clue if it is going to work.
Any help is appreciated.
Sent from my LG-V500 using XDA Free mobile app
Factory reset after flashing stock firmware, if that doesn't cure them try the rescue firmware from the thread in general forum.
If your friend flashed a mod designed for a different model number then it could be hard bricked.
Flashed the stock firmware but now it wont accept the sim card and no other rom will work
Is it possible the boot loader is locked?
No, the i9300 bootloader isn't locked apart from Chinese stock firmwares.
Without any information on what your friend did to the phone it isn't possible to say what is broken.
Check the imei and serial number match the ones under the battery.

[HELP] no wifi, no recognised sim following a faileed TWRP restore

[HELP] failed TWRP restore,
now no wifi, no recognised sim,
have factory reset but as no recognised sim or wifi unable to activate then starts to boot loop .
if restore old data and system and EFS. still no wifi or recognised sim
history of problem:
i was on original miui that shipped with phone. had a failed update (OTA) yesterday and lost root. was trying to get root back. but was getting lots of errors so restored system then first restore failed.
not sure if it has deleted the modem partition which needs to be restored but not sure what that partiition is called in miui.
any ideas?
I think there was a problem restoring the 'firmware' partition that caused the problem.
Just flash firmware file and then restore... (Never restore firmware)
I would flash a MIUi ROM via fastboot to make sure that you have a "clean" installation.
Restoring wouldn't work.
Eventually downloaded a new ROM (globe ROM) and installed it

I fixed this problem by dirty flashing my ROM.
just download and flash the modem files. you can find it with a simple google search. flash this in twrp. everything should be back to normal.

SIM not working after erasing all data and flashing stock rom

Sorry to bother you, but I have a little problem and I need your help.
I have Lenovo Phab Plus,
Recently flashed stock rom by QcomDloader
But after that system was taking about 30gb of storage
I was supposed to factory reset but I accidentally erased all by the same flash tool above,
And now SIM not working
I think the solution is to mount modem partition from recovery but the stock recovery doesn't have that option , so I installed TWRP recovery and also rooted according to this link
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/install-twrp-rooting-phab-plus-rooting-t3290347
But everytime I check to mount modem , TWRP returns to default after restarting.
TWRP at first said something about leaving system unmodified for official updates ,but actually I don't know how that could affect mounting.
Could you help me please to fix SIM problem
Thank you and sorry for the long message .
