r750aucu2apc1 Gears S update - Samsung Gear S

Can anyone point me to the information that says what's in this update. Just got it a week or so ago... google doesn't provide much detail on the specifics... I can download the firmware but nothing to tell me what it changes
Thanks

I still have R750PVPU1APB1

Supposedly it improves compatibility with MM and fixes the freezing error(which I was getting).

i like the update everything seems much snappier

Added root access to the newest update for my own Gear S, so decided to share: (flash using Odin)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0a0KxS2Q3gUcGNoOGdDOWhhbGM/view?usp=sharing
Also I have the stock odin firmware for the newest release. Oops, this is for the T-Mobile version.

My battery life took a nose dive from this update. Wish I up-didn't.

KG2 or KG3???

I have not even decided whether I should flash KG2 yet, and a newer firmware KG3 is out! WTF! Why are these unofficial firmware coming out so fast? Samsung has neither released Android 2.3.4 yet nor has it released KG2.....and we are having an unofficial KG3 here! What is happening?
Now which one is better of the two versions, KG2 or KG3 ???
Don't know why so many but is it really a problem? I'd rather have lots of activity going on than feel abandoned by Samsung, as I often used to feel happened with HTC.
Differences between KG2 and KG3? Very few that I can detect. Subjectively it feels like battery is marginally better on KG3, but no hard evidence.
Personally I like to stay bleeding edge but like you, I have the option not to upgrade if I choose - it's not compulsory.
Thanks Gustopher, I would also appreciate the fact that some activity is happening at Samsung, but am peeved at the fact that no activity is happening through official channels. They have leaked android 2.3.4, KG1, KG2 and KG3 unofficially, but nothing has come via Kies officially.
I would be happy if all these updates were coming via Kies. Flashing the unofficial versions would mean no further updates from Kies officially.....So it is a bit frustrating to wait.
Heard of the Open Handset Alliance? It's something new by Google that forces brands to support their mobile devices with very frequent updates so users won't feel dropped out. This, since most Android users are all about the software and its updates.

KG3 is the official release not unofficial. And it's the best out of the two (for me at least)

They're just using us as their guinea pigs They read the feedback and if it's okay then they dare to publish the update via kies to the big masses. We're still in the minority buddy

Exactly my thoughts! I also think they are deliberately "leaking" these releases themselves to get the feedback. I would also love to install the latest KG3, but the only thing stopping me is that I may not get future updates officially by Kies after that. That's why I'm waiting for Kies to release it.

For what it's worth, Odin is a MUCH better way of flashing firmware than Kies. I recognise the warranty issues, but the risks are low and the rewards high. I'm with Pume - XDA is my source of ROMs/firmware from now on in.

Errrh, the OHA has been around since day 1 of android, they do encourage company's to update there phones for at least 18months but overall its not really about that.
I think samsung got burned by there update schedule or lack of on the SGS1 so have tried to mend there ways.
As far as updates, the 3UK SGS2 is only officially on KE 2
I wasnt going to flash custom firmware right away, but when I realised how out of date it was, I couldnt help myself!
Thank you all for your valuable inputs. I would agree with you that the pros of flashing unofficial updates are more than the cons. But during the warranty period one should use discretion.
If there are people from Samsung reading this forum, my only suggestion to them would be to reduce the time gap between "leaking" a ROM and releasing it officially. Cheers!
KG3 ROM (Non Wipe) Link?
So finally, where can I find a Non Wipe KG3 ROM with an India specific CSC? Can anyone please give the links?

Not at Lords anyway, everything Indian just got wiped there...
You might have to go the Frankenstein route. I think the non-wipe package from Intratech on this forum has a multinational CSC but can't swear to it. You might want to grab a suitable CSC from his thread on the ROMs forum and flash that.
I'm not an expert, but you may be able to flash the non-wipe package and then flash a suitable CSC package over the top when done?
Lol! Yeah, true the Indians just got wiped out at Lords But it's good for them, I think......the team needs to lose once in a while to keep them on their toes. They had been on a sort of winning streak since the world cup.
I have Intratech's page bookmarked but couldn't find a Non Wipe package for KG3 over there. I have his KG2 though.
"I'm not an expert, but you may be able to flash the non-wipe package and then flash a suitable CSC package over the top when done? "......
Yeah, that's what I intended to do, but can't find a non wipe KG3 package anywhere. He has posted a package which wipes out everything on that page. Correct me if I'm wrong. Cheers!
By way of small compensation for Lords, try this - this is the one I used and it installed without issue:

Good luck
KG2 works better for me than KG3.

What was the firmware version when you bought your phone? KE7 is an old firmware. Most countries are currently in the KF series. Yes, you have to download Odin and flash your desired ROM manually.

Use Odin to flash the stock ROM image... It should restore stock recovery and everything
Dont worry, its not jb.
The only thing this update does is gives us keytones in the dialer again as far as i can see definitively.
It also reinstalls 11 bloat apps, att barcode scanner, facebook, and att family are 3 that i recall.
These all can be uninstalled easily by going to the playstore and conveniently, the 11 apps all need to be updated, or, if you prefer, do what i did and just unistall them.
Another app called Movies gets reinstalled, you can just uninstall it as well.
Two other possible changes that i cannot confirm because they might just be me, i havent benchmarked these...
The screen appears to be a tad darker when autobrightness is enabled.
The phone also appears to be slightly less sluggsih.

Two more small things my ram usage has decreased by about 50 mb on a fresh boot and it looks like there might be a small battery life improvement...
This update from AT&T increases the Baseband Version to: I717UCMB4
It also increases the Build Number to: IMM76D.UCMB4
No change in Android Version or Kernel Version.
Though not Jelly Bean an update to the Baseband Version is always welcome.
I seem to have a better LTE connection since the update, usually at my home LTE is weak and intermittent, I usually switch back and forth between 4G and LTE and this morning I am solidly on LTE.
Can someone post the full updated ROM here so I can flash it via Odin or cwm? Thanks in advance.

Or maybe a CWM flashable version of the update alone. Running deodexed UCLF6 with TWRP so it would not let me update.

I was able to restore to stock UCLF6 using this method;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1731654
It will wipe your data and internal SD, but put you back to stock UCLF6. Now I just need to wait for the update. When I check is says I'm up to date.
Same here.... it says I'm up to date..which is obviously not the case.
An update .zip would be nice, to get around all the failed update attempts...
Those who have managed to get the update loaded, are reporting a much improved LTE connection using the new baseband, and I have no doubt that the update contains new APN's and RIL's to go with the new baseband image....g

Just went into date and time settings, deselected auto date and time and auto time zone, manually set the date to 3/23, checked for updates and there it was. Successfully updated to UCMB4. Also noticed the ability to disable bloat apps. Don't remember having that feature before, not sure, but it's great to disable unwanted apps!

OTA today 18-7-2013

Just got myself a 7MB OTA update, went from I9205XXUAMEA to I9205XXUAMED.
So far i don't notice any changes, got the feeling that its become a little more snappy but it might be my mind playing tricks.
I've got OTA update yesterday UAMG2 from UAMF3. Looking at the last three alpha-num code MG2, it looks like I've got the most latest update.
Look for the latest firmware at sammobile.
I got an OTA this morning too. My 9205 was brought from Hong Kong. I'm now running I9205ZHUAMG1, which looks to be the latest available.
I haven't noticed any significant changes as-yet, but then I didn't have a great number of issues with the phone to begin with!
UK here with rooted stock, will I get the update or is this only for non rooted phones?
Your device has been modified no updates avaliable. Whereas when there was noo update it said you have the latest software
Sent from my GT-I9205 using xda premium
Here are the latest updates available for i9205. http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=GT-I9205&pcode=0#firmware
MEA is the latest in the UK. The reason why MED is available for Netherlands as the device was just released to the Netherlands. Samsung Kies also says my MEA version on my i9205 is the latest software. I laugh at you for trying to tell us there is already an OTA this soon. hahahahahaa
So how do I update my Mega manually? Will I lose root? I probably will wait for a custom ROM since I don't have any problems with my Mega and I don't hear any significant improvements with the update.

You can flash any firmware you want through ODIN. In the local forum there are individuals who tried almost all firmwares available. The only one you can't flash is the Chinese one, it has different partitions. Even if you loose root, you can always get it back by flashing the rooted kernel and then the firmware's stock kernel back. This way you will have the original firmware and the original kernel and root, this combination os OTA updatable. But, as you say, there's no real reason to update atm, apart form one fact - in the latest firmware for Hong-Kong I9205ZHUAMG1 samsung enable moving programs to an SD card, apart form it you won't notice any changes.

I rooted my phone by flashing rootable kernel then flashing original kernel, will my phone be OTA updatable? Moving apps to SD on the S4 doesn't include data so not really an improvement over using foldermount.

If the Models are the International Models i9200 and i9205 the partitions are the same for Chinese also.
For Chinese people there are the i9208 like this:
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=4430&view=1&c=samsung_gt-i9208_galaxy_mega_6.3
This must have different partitions, if You see Rom type is only flash EEPROM, no capacity.

Update does allow for downloaded third party programs to be moved to SD card, unsure what else OTA does, although stated statbility. I don't see a difference from before, still works great............

I did the same thing and flashed back the stock kernel. OTA won't work because it says I'm modified. Kies behaves the same way. Very strange....

In need of a NE5 Modem on my SGH-I527m

Recently I updated with the OTA even tho I could not use KIES to update it kept telling me the updated was not available for my phone
I found a way to have it update with OTA, I had to unroot of course, but it looks like the OTA never updated my modem. I'm still on NA3, luckily my phone still work and data work too, except for wifi.
everyone know you need wifi when you reinstall your apps or it may use tons of gb to install all the apps.
Anyways it would be really appreaciated if someone has it, to upload it somewhere. I think it will resolve my issue.

Update .18-0

Good afternoon sirs. I got my Zenfone 4 within a few weeks. I saw that some users, like me, had some problems after the final .18-50 upgrade, such as poor battery life, slow loading, and, in my case, defective fingerprint sensor, unlocking with unlisted fingers. does anyone know if there is any way to fix these problems? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what the update you're referring to is.
However, why not try the latest (dead easy to do - the instructions are provided) and remember to do a full factory reset after updating.
Use the correct region....

Last version for WW use I see is Version WW_15.0610.1811.18 dated 2018/12/06 with a size of 2.24 GBytes. Just downloaded and installed (seems to work fine). Maybe you should take the chance to update
