[help] lg g3 can't connect to wifi, it only shows "saved". - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please can someone help me, I have this wifi problem on my lg g3 d855 which is using the turbo rom marshmallow 6.0.1 and I can't seem to connect in any available networks. Every time I enter the correct password it only shows "connecting" then goes back to "saved", even if i'm so near to my router...... I've been searching for fixes everywhere, I hope I'll get the right answers here. THANKS!

I have the same problem !
Did you find any solution ?

This problem arrises due to installing custom rom and restoring qcn and it could not be solved by restoring back to stock etc.
Simple solution to that problem is
First you need to install any Marshmallow firmware custom rom fulmics etc.
Then go to hidden menu
1- on dial pad : *#546368#*850# (850 is for D850 and write for your model )
2- find and click SCV Menu it should be 3rd one
3-click on CRCWIZARD Test
4-click the tab Auto MID
5- uncheck IMEI in MID settings
6- click generate to generate your new MAC's
7- click MID write
8-Click Refresh to be sure that you changed MAC adress
9-Rebbot phone to take effect!
After reboot you will be able to connect any wifi without having wifi saved problem or connection failure

Are you still using the stock/factory ROM with root? If not, which custom ROM are you using?
I have a few tips on where to begin to try to fix it - please see the linked reply
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224825&page=25
Hope it can help you too ....
Tip to newcomers - there's an Apps in Market, "APN Backup & Restore" that I personally recommend, especially if you are using the pad with a 3G sim card, so that after you flash to another ROM, you can easily get it back. Also, try "SMS Backup & Restore" as your settings will be saved to an XML file for easy recovery.
Cheers (from your northern neighbor)

Ok - before you changed or flash ROM, did WiFi ever worked on your pad?
Did you try to connect to an open WiFi network (unsecured)?
Do you have a Mobile(Cellular) sim card account & is it active/working on the pad? Can you make outgoing calls and/or answer incoming (voice) calls on this device?
Go to Settings > About phone > Status > and 3rd. menu item from the bottom (scroll down the screen) is Wi_Fi Mac address - does it show anything or say unavailable ?
Next is Bluetooth address - does it show anything or say unavailable ? If it has a MAC address, can you connect & test a BT headset?
Go to Settings > Wireless > WiFi setttings - then press the home key to bring up the "Scan" & "Advanced" menu - press Scan .... anything happen ?
Go into Advanced & check your Wi-Fi sleep policy, change it to "Never" for now. then exit (all the way out.)
Reboot into CWM Recovery, wipe dalvik & cache 3 times and then power down the device, wait 3 to 5 minutes, then turn it back on - check & see if you can turn on WiFi & get a MAC address?
Whatever wireless network & router you are trying to use to connect, please check & confirm that it is working properly & other device can easily connect to it & picking up a DHCP assigned ip address.
Otherwise, you might want to return it as defective if still under factory warranty & get it repaired or replaced.
hy i have he same roblm..but....
yeah same problem....but on a rooed hauwei ascend....could u please [email protected] help would be awesome cause smarthones suck w/o wifi...thanks

Network Problems after upgrading to ICS

In summary I have upgraded to ICS (Official), but am unable to connect to my carrier network and some of the OS seems missing; If I long press my power button I don't get the device menu, it just turns off.
Full details:
I am on a South African network, and the ROM shipped with my device is I9100XWKI4_I9100OJCKI1_XFA. I downloaded two variants of the new ICS ROM from link;XWLP7 & XXLPQ and I downloaded the latest Odin.
From there I followed these instructions:
Extract the firmware
Open the included Odin
Put your device in Recovery MODE (Home + Volume up + Power)
Wipe Data/Factory reset
Wipe Cache
Take Out Your battery & put it back in
Put your device into Download MODE (Home + Volume Down + Power)
Click PDA and select *.tar.md5
Then finally click START!
On both ROMs, following the PASS message my phone rebooted, and everything starts up perfectly; Applications get installed and so on. Only one big problem, I can not connect to a carrier network (The OS also never prompts me to unlock my SIM card). When I bring down my network menu (swipe down) it says Emergency Calls Only. I then figured I would try and manually select a carrier network, so I went and scanned for networks and selected Vodacom. I then get an error message saying "Error cannot connect". I also don't seem to have access to the menu one gets when holding down the power button, if I hold it down the device shuts down; no silent, power off, etc menu.
This happens with both of the rom variants I have. After trying everything in my limited knowledge I gave up, found and downloaded the old I9100XWKI4_I9100OJCKI1_XFA rom. I am now back on that rom and everything is working fine.
I have also tried following these steps: link
Except I restore factory settings and wipe cache before deploying the ROM. I then sought the help of a fellow Droid user from the South African forums, who suggested that I flash onto the old Dutch firmware (GT-I9100_XEN_I9100XWKJ3_I9100XENKJ1_I9100XXKI4). After confirming it worked and I could get onto the network, I took the SIM out and did a proper firmware upgrade via KIES. The upgrade went in without any issue, BUT after the upgrade the problem was still there; no carrier network, no power button menu.
After further fiddling I figured that the OS not asking for my SIM PIN must be one of the causes of my issue, so I went to my settings and turned SIM security off and on. After doing so, suddenly the device hopped onto my carrier network. This did not solve the issue though, as I have to do this after every reboot.
I have checked to ensure my IMEI number is fine, and it is 100%. When I flashed to the XEO version, I could get into the *#272* menu and change my CSC. After doing so, problem was still there.
I am now totally confused as to what on earth could be causing the issue, especially considering other people on the same device with the same carrier seem to be able to flash without hassle - does anyone have any suggestions, or ideas? Come on XDA!
Try checking the efs\imei folder to see if the keystr file is there. If its not, make one with the value 1. Search the q and a forum for more info
Can this be done without rooting my phone?
EDIT: Required rooting. Was the missing "keystr" file in my EFS/IMEI directory (link)

You probably need to search a better device. I have a similar problem with my P714, and it gets worse every day - it began the way you describe, and after a while, restarting (or using apps that do it, which is basically the same) stopped helping. I'm about to get rid of this device as it doesn't supply the most basic functionality. BTW I replaced 3 ROMs since this problem began without luck.

It can be rom related but if you don't flash with kdz zip flashes will usually flash just kern and rom. Want me to cook a flashable zip with modem? Tell me if you run kitkat or jellybean.

Marshmallow Update broke Wi-Fi

Hi guys, first post here, so sorry if this is in the wrong section or something.
I just updated my phone (Honor 5X KIW-L21) from Lollipop to Marshmallow, and as soon as it updated, the Wi-Fi stopped working.
I can connect to my router, but can't connect to the internet. Mobile data works absolutely fine.
I have tried rebooting, forgetting and reconnecting to the router, network settings reset, factory default reset but no luck.
Is anyone able to help me here please?

Try reflashing the update again
Yes, try to flash the whole stock firmware package again, steps to do it are mentioned below, please follow them:
Download your phone's latest firmware.
After doing this put the UPDATE.APP in dload folder of your external SDCARD.
Switch off your phone, and press Vol UP + Vol DOWN + Power button simultaneously.
Check your wifi after doing this and report back.

1- factory reset usually does the trick to solve problems
2- reflashing could help or it might just duplicate the same mistake
3- if there is no other feedback with the same malfunction, consider your problem to be isolated.
4- factory reset and do not setup anything, just skip the whole wizard. Let is settle for 5 minutes and then reboot. See if you can get wifi data.
5- consider using sensors multi tool app to check wifi or Huawei hidden test menu as every device have one.

Help - Connection problem after upgrading Android 8.0 - Samsung galaxy s7 edge

Hello everyone. I have a samsung galaxy s7 edge (SM G935F) and i recently received the android 8.0.0 from samsung. Downloaded and installed directly via the cellphone.
But after updating i am getting this internet/connection drop issues a lot.
Now a lot of times when im connected in wifi or using the 4g mobile internet, im getting a lot of internet lag/drops. Example: at whatsapp, when i sens a message, the clock appears and only after a little rhe time the message is send.
Example 2: at facebook, somerimes it lags and takes too long to load the content (same happening in instagram). Or at clash of clans, it is showing that symbol of internet issue.
Besides those internet bugs/lags, the android 8.0.0 is ok.
I already did a factory reset yesterday via the phone, and saved the files with smart switch. But the problem persists. I also checked and my wifi internet and my mobile internet are ok.
Does anyone knows how to fix this issue? Is there a newer version of the ROM, maybe? Or if not, is ir possible to downgrade to android 7 again (really wouldnt like this option but....)?
If anyone could help that would be great. But for the record:im really newbie at android stuffs....if you can help, please could you explain step by step?
Thanks everyone

I have the same phone but in my region the OTA 8.0 upgrade didn't arrive yet so I took a french official 8.0 for SM-G935F and installed it. After about one week I can tell it works like a charm and even better than before with the Marshmallow firmware. I don't see a solution with your specific connection problem but I can try to find and bring you the OS that I downloaded and used if you want.

NO, i can't seem to remember where i downloaded the firmware from, but I am sure it wasn't from Sammobile because it take ages to download. But I still have it on my laptop so I'm uploading the .rar on mediafire.
All you have to do:
Get Odin
Get the ROM (extract it separately, you should see the AP, BL, CP, CSC components)
Cause I am a new user on the forum it doesn't allow me to post external links so let's get around that:
type in w w w. mediafire . com /file / tx3676bj71vz17f/G935FXXU2ERD5_G935FOXA2ERD5_BTU.zip (copy paste and remove all the spaces)
Activate USB debugging (google that, you can get it in 30 secs)
press and hold power+home_button+volum_down then press volume_up when it asks you to confirm that you know what you're doing.
Open Odin, you should see that your phone is recognized (in the top left rectangle it shows COM something.
Add the AP, BL, CP and CSC from the folder to Odin by pressing the specific buttons and then selecting them, wait between them if necessary, it will tell you.
Make sure re partition is not ticked in the options tab.
after everytihng is ready, click start and wait some time.
When it is done you should see PASS in green and your phone restarting.\
From there you just have to configure your new OS. Bare in mind that you should know the google acc and password that you had on the phone before, else it will get FRP locked.
Hope this helps, If you have any questions feel free to ask.
