[PORT][6.0.1][G900F or N5 thunderbolt]Contacts, Tasks, And Apps Edge Panel - Galaxy S 5 Themes and Apps

Introduction
"This mod will let you add contacts, tasks, and apps edge panel from S7 on your non edge/edge+ Samsung device. (On Marshmallow Firmware)." - cited from jovy23.
See screenshots attached. It only works on deodexed ROMs. As you are modifying system files, this could lead to bootloops so please make a full backup before.
Download the files according to your current rom. Most of the mods are from alexndr's devbase, my main rom due to its speed, stability, and great atmosphere in the thread. I will add more according to requests and my personal use.
Downloads
- Thunderbolt N5 Pure Rom : mega v1.2 (G900F and G900W8)
- CPE2 : mega v1.1
- CPD7 : mega (works also on CPB8 according to post n16) v1.1
Installation
Reminder : you need a deodexed rom for it to work
- Backup your partitions. This mods the framework and can induce bootloops.
- Download the linked files, and flash them (e.g. using TWRP or flashfire)
- Reboot and the edge screen can be seen on the right of the screen!
- If you want to be able to download additional edge apps from the Galaxy Store, you will need to edit the file /System/build.prop, and replace "ro.product.model=SM-G900F" by "ro.product.model=SM-G935F", then reboot
Bugs
Lightning shows in options, but isn't active
People edge error

Introduction
I have tested it only on a deodexed CPD7 rom for SM-G900F. It could work on other roms or variants, but I can't guarantee it. It should only work on deodexed ROMs. As you are modifying system files, this could lead to bootloops so please make a full backup before.
Installation
- To install, download all linked files, extract them, and copy them with root access to your /system/.
You will either need to set the right permissions, or use File Explorer to copy the files. This app is free, including its root addon, and automatically sets the permissions.

Thanks! On which devbase did you test it? CPD7 also?
I wonder if the framework changes a lot between 6.0.1 versions, therefore if I need to remake the mod for each devbase (e.g. CPE1)... Also for me the people stripe does not work. I am still trying to find a way to make it work.

If you provide me with a copy of the following files, I can make it for you. Also please give me your rom version (ex: G900FXXU1CPD7). I think that the fact that the rom works or not should depend on the rom version (framework version) and not on the phone model.
I need :
- floating feature.xml from the folder \system\etc
- services.jar and framework.jar from the folder \system\framework
Also it will only work if you are using a deodexed rom

I'm sorry, your rom is not deodexed so it can't be modded with this method.
For deodexed rom, there is a file within the framework.jar that contains the files that need to be modified (classes.dex). In odexed rom, such as yours, the classes.dex files are deleted and replaced by odex files that are not accessible according to my current knowledge.

v1.1 update
Changes from 1.1:
- flashable zips for easier installation
- available both for CPD7 and CPE2
- people strip working (probably)
Downloads :
- CPE2 v1.1 : mega
- CPD7 v1.1 : mega

Hi, I added the links to the rom used for the mod in the first post. It is alexndr's rom, my personal favorite and frequently updated. He is also very helpful in his thread. I used his roms to create the mod.

I'm waiting for the mod for the G900W8 on Thunderbolt Rom as well. Looking forward to it. Thanks in advance.

PREBUILD KNOWLEDGE
First off we need to know what dpi our phone is.
to do this we do a bit of research. head over to gsmarena.com and search for your device.
in my case my devices resolution is 800x480 so i know its hdpi
once we know what dpi we are using head over to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2236937
and download the appropriate launcher zip and put it one side
USING THE PORT TOOL
1. Place The AutoPort.exe on your desktop
2.Turn on debugging mode
3. make sure you have the correct drivers installed for your phone
4. plug your phone in
5. make sure you have root access with adb
6. Run The exe
7. when the pop up appears place the L5Aroma.zip in the port folder.
8. Done
the program will replace the files in the L5Aroma.zip with stock files pulled from your device.
the purpose of this is so that you should be able to pretty much flash the new zip without any errors.
this will not fully port the rom. things like systemui tweaks, theme chooser and multi user will have to be done manually.

Samsung Launcher

SAMSUNG LAUNCHER
1. extract the S4_launcher-***.zip that you downloaded earlyer
2. open the /system/app folder
3. rename the SecLauncher2.apk to LGHome3a.apk
4. open the new L5Aroma.zip that you created with the AutoPort tool using winrar.
5. navigate to /choices/1.home/samsung/system/app
6. you should have the same files as you have in the S4_launcher-***.zip
7. replace the ones from the L5Aroma.zip with those from S4_launcher
8. do the same with etc, framework and lib(this is not nessacery but do it anyway).
and now you have fixed the Samsung Launcher.

Great idea :good:
there isn't more information???
Concerns and Wish to collaborate.
Will this port successfully to Lg L3 E425g?
Will I be the first?
Do I get listed as a beta tester?
I'm willing to provide feedback.
I'm starting to learn programming.
Can I be provided with a stock .kdz if it goes wrong?
There is no ldpi download at the forum post.
Using modded SEC4 without TouchWiz instead....
I'm currently downloading the files to port it.
Will any issues arise because of the launcher?
CAN this be ported to ldpi?
If it can't maybe that's why the s4 launcher isn't there?
I'll be flashing this maybe tommorow or sunday?
Any feedback will be needed soon.
I will provided detailed info about the results.
and if you wish, and it goes smoothly a nandroid backup file for the l3ii.
If it works, then i will do some manual mod editing based on the things not available because of it being ported.
If I get them to work, maybe you may want me to help you?
If they don't work then perhaps I can find a work around or something similar.
You may want that?
If I am not allowed to collaborate, then may I publish a version with those features working, using and quoting this as base?

[MOD] V500d Splitwindow and Custom App Selection Mods

This is currently only for Stock G-pad's running the current US firmware V50020d (not aosp or V50020b). US only at this time. OP will be updated if other firmwares become functional. These mods will enable full splitwindow support to your G-pad and allow you to selectively choose what apps are displayed in the splitwindow "menu". Also, please note that this is a collection of other users work combined together for the ultimate Mod!! I did not create anything here, I just put the pieces together and tested if it all worked (which it does 100%).
Prerequisites:
-You must be on firmware version V50020d
-You must be rooted
-You must have a custom recovery
-Root and recovery can be achieved using ioroot 25 and @id10terror's recovery script both located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698267 . Please note that you must open the runme.bat script and manually change the firmware version from V50020b to V50020d in order for the recovery script to work. Then flash an updated TWRP from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551499
-Please keep questions about root and recovery out of this thread!!
Step 1: Get Splitwindow Working
-Download and flash the V500d splitwindow mod from @hensonlf located at the bottom of this post
-Boot device and using your preferred file manager add these 2 lines to the bottom of your build.prop:
ro.lge.capp_splitwindow=true
persist.splitwindow.support_all=true
-Save and reboot device
-Please read his thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-pad-83/themes-apps/split-window-g-pad-t2796066 for more detailed information, and don't forget to thank him for converting @xdabbeb's mod to our device
-You are now running splitwindow on your tablet, but wait whats this mess?......every single app I have installed appears in the splitwindow menu in a random order!! Unacceptable!! Or if you want all apps to appear there, you can stop here.
Step 2: Enable Individual App Selection
-First we must disable all installed apps from appearing in splitwindow menu. Using your preferred file manager open your build.prop and change one line we added in step one here:
persist.splitwindow.support_all=true
to:
persist.splitwindow.support_all=false
-Save and reboot device - now your running the default LG value for splitwindow
-Download and install @XabdullahX's G-Flex splitwindow mod apk from his thread here (I am not providing the download, as he has a free and donate version - the donate version alphabetizes your apps): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2707310
-Open app and grant it root permission
-When root is given, a list of all applications will be shown. Select the desired apps you want to appear in the menu when activated
-Click Apply
-Click Reboot to save (if you don't reboot from within the app, the settings will NOT stick - use the option he has provided)
-Done!! Enjoy your custom splitwindow without any crap you don't want shown
Big shout out to all these members for their work - be sure to thank them:
@Drgravy for TWRP
@autoprime for ioroot
@id10terror for root links and TWRP script
@xdabbeb for creating the splitwindow mod method for the G2
@hensonlf for porting the splitwindow mod to our device
@XabdullahX for his G-flex splitwindow apk mod

Dam, I thought the UK may work, as they are nearly identical. Op updated for US only. The author was going to make some other varient versions of the initial mod script. Check in on his thread for more info about that.
In the future, always have a nandroid ready to restore so you don't have to fully reflash...
yeah,my bad.didn't think there would be a problem as its stock 20d.nevermind, i have an old lg backup, got most stuff back.
hopefully mod be available for UK soon.really looking forward to this feature.

[THEMES] Dynamic Kat's and NACO's Device default

Hello guys and galls,
I'm a big fan of dark themes, so here you have it, enjoy them!
Please don't ask for Lollipop updates: I rely heavily on Xposed so I'll take a loooong, sweet time before I'll even consider Lollipop - - - :fingers-crossed: - - :crying:
The included themes have been tested on the Canadian Note 4 (SM-N910W8) but they should be working on all Snapdragon variants.
DISCLAIMER:
As always, it is entirely your responsibility. Make a backup before flashing any theme!!!!
INSTALLATION:
Flash the zip file from recovery (TWRP, CWM or similar). Directly pushing the files to system/priv-app will result in the themed apps not to show, at all. You need to flash the package from recovery!!! If you want to keep your original services.jar file, save it before flashing > flash the desired package > reboot > replace the flashed version with the one you saved > reboot. Done!
PREREQUISITES:
KitKat ONLY!!! (no Lollipop suport)
Rooted,
Deodex ONLY!!! (if you know what you're doing, SecSettings.apk and InCallUI.apk (only) also work with odex files.)
Snapdragon variants (no idea whether they would work on Exynos - feedback appreciated).
The contained Contacts file is specific to the US variants (SecContacts_Note_USA.apk). If you're installing the theme on a non-US variant, you have to either delete or append a .bak to the original file (system/priv-app) before flashing the theme - otherwise you'll end up with 2 Contacts files. Furthermore, you don't necessarily have to rename the included Contacts file to match your original - it works as is, but if you prefer to, anyways go ahead, rename it.
GPE Theme was originally created by Brian (bri315317), however the theme was intended to be used within his ROM so in order to make it work independently I have slightly modified it and created 2 versions. I've posted this with his permission and obviously the due credits go to him.
Features:
- Pure Black background/theme consistent throughout all the apps.
- Own set of white icons
- Modified apps: Contacts, Messaging, Settings, Phone & Dialer.
- 4-way reboot menu.
- CRT screen off effect.
- App Ops
- Screen capture (screenshot) and torch added to the Power menu.
GPE Theme: removed the SystemUI.apk (it was constantly crashing), removed AirMessage.apk (didn't seem to be working outside Brian's Dynamic Kat ROM) and,
GPE Theme_HomeWake: same changes as above + I've modified the file under policy to force the Home button to wake up the phone (it makes sense when the finger scanner is used to unlock the phone). Note: Due to the original smali file enforcing a system-wide "Home-key-no-wake" policy, known file modifications under system/usr/keylayout have no effect whatsoever - hence, the creation of this version.
Material Design_HomeWake: (see the attached screenshots) same idea as GPE Home Wake but this is Brian's light theme. Note that due to the deep integration with his ROM, this theme offers only the same type of customization as the dark one, without taking advantage of any of the material design implementations.
NACO theme (Device Default) it's a combination of Brian's files and my files, it uses Samsung's Device Default theme/style (dark theme).
Features:
- Samsung's Device Default background/theme (dark with blueish headers - see the attached screenshots) - applied only to the affected apps
- Original icons
- Home button DOES wake the device (disabling this through the file IS possible)
- Modified apps: Contacts, Messaging, Settings, Phone & Dialer
- preserves original styles/themes of all the other apps not specifically modified for theming
- CRT screen off effect
- No App Ops - can be installed independently from Play Store
CREDITS:
- bri315317 for GPE Theme and Dynamic Kat ROM
- sefrcoko for his (Canadian) deodexed ROM
Screenshots: the dark theme is NACO Device Default theme, the light theme is Material Design_HomeWake.

I couldn't replicate the issue with the Clock or Samsung Music and since they seem to create some force closes with certain variants while working just fine with others, I've decided to remove them from all the themes - in other words no changes to the original Clock and Samsung Music apk. I've uploaded the new packages and update the OP to reflect the changes.

Hey thanks! I'm gonna give these another try. The only ones I was having problems with that I tried were the Clock and Music apk. When I tried the Contacts.apk I just copied and pasted to system/priv-app but it wouldn't show in my app drawer. Even after wiping cache and dalvik and fixing permissions. I will give it another go. SecSettings.apk. worked great tho.

Flash the whole zip file from recovery and wipe the Dalvik/cache afterwords - all 3 apks related to phone (SecTeleservice, SecContacts and InCallUI) need the services.jar under framework to get properly installed - if you try to just push them, as you did, you'll end up exactly in the situation you've described. Furthermore, I highly recommend installing all 3 apks related to phone - don't just pick Contacts. They are interdependent.

If you are referring to Brian's Material Light Theme, that's actually quite easy, and yes, by all means if there are requests I can provide the files...but unfortunately, besides getting a nice light theme, very similar to Samsung's original, you won't get much more than that - due to the deep integration with his ROM, the theme won't inherit any material design characteristics/features, just background/font modifications similar to the dark themes.

No, these themes will NOT modify any aspects related to notification bar/ quick settings, etc, etc, etc.
The easiest/most convenient way to customize most of these aspects is by using Wanam's Xposed module.

It was just a feedback, keep calm in a day i probably flashing same rom 10 times
screens please
Working flawlessly on N910F XXU1BOC5.
Will it work on n910t?
On which version are those files based. BOD2?
Let me guess. To do this, my Rom has to be deodexed right? Because I have a N910F and both apps won't work. They kept crashing after flashing and boot up

Thank you.
In my system/app and system/priv_app there were two odex files in each of arm folder.
I just deleted the two odex files each for phone and camera and rebooted. Now phone app and camera works.

Thanks for this.
I flashed the zips manually like said in the OP, and had the apps crashing when I loaded back up. I'm on the stock rom which is still ODEX-ed, but after deleting the ODEX files it all seems to be working well.
Now I can finally lower the DPI from the ridiculously large default without messing up the apps!
Camera tested on N910C LP
Only issue for me (density at 480)
is the mode selection where the text is ontop of the icon and some are black (should be white text color)
else good work man!!!

sorry. I don't understand what you say exactly.
stock rom means samsung latest 4.4.2 kitkat rom released in your country.
GT-N7105's files depends on their country, carrier.
though GT-N7105 rom name is same, a few files different.
anyway your phone is i9505 gallaxy s4?
thanks

Yes, it is an i9505 galaxy s4, i bought it with android V.5.0.1 and that was an upgrade from KK 4.4.x i think...
I live in Sweden and has Telia as my carrier, but i do not know if it is an international version or an Nordic version.
Hi I think thats international version. You better ask galaxy s4 form. Nice day.

Hi Dev,
Thank you for cooking us a new ROM to check out and hopefully enjoy.
I have an N7105 and I'm interested in testing this ROM. Is this the correct order of installation:
1. Install ROM
2. Install N7105 Addon
3. Install Modem + CSC from my service provider.
For example for me; I will Install the Telstra Modem + CSC files available in the Modem Thread here in this subsection.
4. Install latest AGni (Stock) Kernal.
I will most likely wait until the ROM is finished... For example like you suggested. Removing S-Finder and QConnect, that would be great.
Or if you can please make an AROMA Setup where we can choose for example:
- The Addons for which device we're using.
- 240 DPI or 320 DPI (this would be a great edition, but you have to fix phone, calculator, and a lot of samsung stock apps to 320dpi). Maybe make a note that says 240 DPI mode comes installed with Xposed Framework and App Settings to fix all necessary applications.
- Clean Dark Themed Framework + System UI (Black, White, Grey, and Red) vs Samsung Framework & System UI.
- No Mods vs Project Skynet Mod installed + terminal emulator

:good::good::good:
Of course you don't have to do any of this, but just a few requests
Thank you again for your hard work. I and I'm sure many others, truly appreciate devs (such as yourself, and others) who are keeping this device alive for us.

sincerely thank you for the Qualitative feedback
your install process is useful for N7105 users.
If you use your csc, only problem is airmessage(circle instant message).
we append some feature text to use airmessage in csc(others.xml or feature.xml)
I will add this text in OP
4.4.4 based rom has some problems.
bluetooth/video call/volte etc.
so I used 4.4.2 kitkat. I am very curious about N7105 video call
Is it work?
I will consider your comments
yes. It will takes a lot of time to make 240dpi mod.
later, If I have some time, I will try.
more system ui will be added in this week.(aroma..OK I accept)
have a nice day. good mate

2.
if don't use carrier related wifi service, also you can remove some apks. libs but It is not easy.
later, I will post, or support remove script.
3.
now cpu maxcore is 1600Mz. you can downsize 1600->1200Mz. it is useful. speed?(almost same. but battery time is good)
