This is the version I flashed but looking on File Factory, there's this version plus a slightly newer version below posted a day ago. This version is MPJ24.139-48. I wonder if the newer version is for the OTA that went out recently.

Yeah, -49 is the update that was pushed out to Amazon devices via OTA, changelog was "improved call stability". I wonder if any Moto-direct models have gotten that OTA update yet (seen ROMs become available before OTAs before, prime example being the latest Moto X Pure update, which the full ROM with update was available on AndroidFileHost last month, and only got sent via OTA a couple of days ago).

I'll probably flash it over the weekend, it probably can't hurt. Initially, I was hoping for an update to improve battery life because mine really sucked for several days but it seems to have settled down and now it looks like it uses about the same as my 3rd gen did.

Posted so we would have it. Im running non Amazon version G4. Im really diggin this lil device, I hope a developer gets ahold of it. Enjoy your day fellas.

Dang just read that whoever got Amazon version they are no longer giving bootloader unlock codes. That sucks big time.

I'm going to flash that newer rom that was posted a day ago. XT1625-XT1644_ATHENE-RETUS_MPJ24.139-49_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
In fact, it's all ready to go and all I have to do is run the .bat file I make for flashing. I've learned the hard way to save my flashing for the morning hours so I want be up to midnight grinding my teeth.

The Amazon ad-supported models, if you haven't unlocked you bootloader yet, no.
The ad-free Moto-direct models, yes via unlocking the bootloader and flashing/booting TWRP.

Thanks...was talking about the retail version. Just wanted to make sure. Im already rooted..twrp..xposed..gravity box. Just didnt want to flash the newer version of 1625 if it borked everything as I love my setup. Thanks again much appreciated..well time for clean installs on both Note 3's Note 4 Mega and Note 2..gonna be a long night. Have a good one..happy flashing.

All I do is use notepad and make a text file named FlashNow.bat and inside that I have the following. I then open a cmd window and run the bat file. The commands could just as easily be copied and pasted inside the cmd window. Keep in mind this is for the US model XT1625 and the sparsechunk files could differ for other models.
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin

no system, no recovery, device locked, what can i do ?

hi,
i wanted to flash stock android (used an rom before) so i erase recovery system etc.. and when i want to flash the system img it says "
(bootloader) Device State : Locked
FAILED (remote: Can not flash any images while device state is locked!)
-.- what can i do ?
any solutions ?
thanks
Not much. Only thing you can do with a locked boot loader is flash OTA updates, and they don't have an OTA that will flash the full system. OTAs only update an existing system. You shouldn't have erased your system.
You need to return your N9 to HTC for a replacement.

hmm okey, so send it back to HTC (or amazon cause i buyed it there)
but it should be no problem cause its locked and therse no sign that it was/is rooted, right?
also i have buyed an insurance for 2 years so i think it should be okey... i hope so
So I'm in a similar pickle, with one huge difference: my bootloader is unlocked, and reflects such in the fastboot menu.
Long story short, I have no image of any kind on it at this point. All attempts with any interface to flash either 5.1.1 or 6 fail. When attempting to flash the system.img, I get the "too many links" error. I've not found a solution that works.
At this point, I have no recovery and no image. I can't successfully flash one either. Not sure what to do from here...

are you using the right fastboot commands? Eg. not something dumb like fastboot flash boot system.img. Also are you flashing your stuff in the correct order? Make sure to grab a good copy of whatever version of android you're trying to flash from here

Thanks, I ended up getting it in a workable state last night. Ran a temporary recovery via Wug's toolkit, got TWRP installed, and went from there. I now have Marshmallow on it via AOSP, but I think the bootloader might still need updating.

Definitely send it back to Amazon. They are very good about taking returns. You can just say you tried to update the OS, and now the device doesn't boot (i.e. product is defective).

It's on the way, I said " want to update the OS and Made a factory reset before"
Have you tried flashing the factory images with fastboot? Pretty straight forward...
For future reference, how did you erase things with the bootloader locked?

LG Stylo 3 Plus

dont know yet but the plus series is ure best bet from history speaking
as of rite now theyre no methods on any of the 3s
of coarse u can try king/kingo root prob be best bet
The Plus models from MetroPCS and TMobile have unlockable bootloader's, so all that's needed is TWRP to flash root
Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk
Nice to know there will be an option in a month or two. I hear development on Stylos don't take too long considering their popularity.
I would love to know what's needed to attempt root on a device...I mean from scratch...like what is needed to access the /data file...and how to break thru the lock LG has to stop someone from mounting and rewriting certain files

Do the devices have fast boot. If so a oem unlock. Some one said metro and t mobiles where unlocked or unlockable
I'm no programming/root expert but in developer options you enable oem unlock.. then connected o the pc you type fastboot oem unlock from a command prompt.. the phone then says its unlocked .. that's as far as I went. Aso after that, when you boot the phone, it literally complains that it is missing security before it boots.

LG might have removed the ability to boot an image without flashing it like they did with the Stylo 2 plus, and I don't think there is a kdz available yet as I been looking for one every couple of days but haven't found one.

I want to purchase one of these from metro to use on my h20 account. If I flash a new rom will it get rid of that stupid unlock policy that makes you use the app after 90 days to unlock?
Anyone know if or when any updates even security patches will roll out for this device?

My bet is the situation is similar with G Stylo 2+.
Even with the latest 7.0 ROM, I still could flash TWRP and install SuperSU (not Magisk unfortunately).

I can probably make this work to flash with TWRP, but you'll need to have your system, oem and boot.img original stock before flashing. If anyone is willing to test it for me, I will modify the ota zip when I have a chance. I have the Boost XT1766 so I can't test it myself. Let me know if anyone is willing to test it because if not, I won't waste my time modifying the ota.

If you look inside the ota zip, there are patches for the boot.img, system.img, oem.img, modem.img, etc. If you don't have the original stock versions of these it may fail to install properly and will likely cause problems. Hence the reason for the asserts in the OTA zip to check for the proper unmodified versions of these. If I had the XT1775 I would just flash stock firmware and update officially then pull the imgs, make an updated stock ROM with the system and boot, and make an make a twrp flashable ota zip with the other modem, fsg and oem.imgs. So, you basically have to do the same as if you were going to update officially minus reflashing stock recovery. You almost might as well just flash your latest stock firmware and take the ota update, then pull the modem, fsg and oem and make a system and boot backup with twrp which I can make an updated ROM and twrp flashable ota for others to update without that hassle. Your choice. I asked another user to provide me with a backup after they updated, but they had to go somewhere for a few days and said they would when they returned. I could give you a stock ROM flashable so you don't have to flash firmware with fastboot. I already have one made, I just haven't uploaded and posted it yet.

I'll have to modify the ota zip for you first so you can flash it after the stock ROM. As soon as I have a chance to, I'll upload that and the stock ROM zip for you. You didn't modify your oem partition at all did you? If so, I'll give you a flashable oem zip to restore that back the way it was also. Just make sure you have stock firmware ready to flash with fastboot in case something doesn't go right. Most of the ota is modem related, no bootloader patches, so it should work fine and hard bricking shouldn't be a concern.

I did not modify the oem partition. I've just made small changes like changed the boot animation, splash screen and some other things like that. Nothing major. have attempted to make a deodex version with a couple of different kitchens to make some other changes but haven't had enough time to really get into anything.

Nothing major. have attempted to make a deodex version with a couple of different kitchens to make some other changes but haven't had enough time to really get into anything.

I'm uploading the ROM now. I just got done modifying the ota zip and I'll give you links as soon as they're done uploading. I made a deodexed Sprint variant version. Was planning on deodexing the retail version also. I may as well wait for the newer version though. The trick is, you need to deodexed the oem apps and framework also or it won't boot.

Thanks. I'm in town right now. I'll check when I get home and flash if its ready. If all goes well, you want me to send you a twrp backup of boot and system only right?

Yes. It'll be a little while, uploads are going really slow and keep failing on AFH. I had it almost uploaded twice and it keeps failing.

I couldn't even log into AFH earlier. That's why I used OneDrive in the op.

Finally got it
ROM: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=746010030569959248
OTA:
So, here's what I want you to do.
1. Make a backup before you do anything.
2. Flash a Magisk uninstaller.
3. Flash the ROM. (if it should fail to flash, please get a recovery log so I can see exactly what failed.)
4. Flash the OTA zip. (again, if it should fail to flash, please get a recovery log so I can see exactly what failed.)
5. If everything flashes ok, reboot recovery to make sure you don't lose twrp.
6. Make a system backup.
7. Use fastboot to pull the boot.img, modem.img, fsg.mbn, and the oem.img.
Edit: actually, if you could pull everything you see in a stock firmware package and pull them so they have the same name and file extension, that would be great.
I'll be working until about 8 tonight. (3.5.18) I'll work on it tonight and let you know what happens.
Edit: I managed to get the "Blur_Version.26.11.27.owens.retail.en.US--XT1775_TWRP_flashable" down loaded but the other was taking too long and failed a couple of times. I will try again when I can.
so glad you guys are working on this My daughter and her moms xt1775 just popped the update message and im not "allowed" to work on them too often so i cant experiment with you. So a twrp flashable update would be great if i dont have to unroot reroot stock.img etc etc it will be a painless (for me) update.
A Sort-of Related Question
I installed the update by using RSD Lite to go back to stock, taking the update as an OTA, then reflashing TWRP and Magisk. All was fine, until I tried to restore a back up. Which failed, unable to mount System. Thereafter, all reboots take me to Bootloader. I can't use RSD Lite again, as I have updated to a later version. (Believe me, I have tried multiple times!) I tried flashing the two zips, but I fail at the OTA. I was able to load Lineage, which works, but still reboots to Bootloader, then to the ROm.
I have tried fastboot oem fb_mode_clear via both ADB and TWRP Terminal but that fails as well.
Any thoughts on clearing this?
NEVER MIND - Tried a different PC and the mode clear command worked! Whew! The good news is that is something that might be worth trying if you get stuck.

Of course, sent to you via PM.
I don't think that it is a quality of your zip, I think it is related to my earlier attempt at installing the OTA itself.

on the subject of modem bin flashing

Alright, so long story short I'm running JW's sprint21a software version after following the guides on Frankensteining and rooting the V30. Ever since August 16th I've been getting update messages to update to the newest version from sprint. Sadly, this update isn't available as a zip anywhere to flash via TWRP like I did when I converted from US998 after rooting to LS998 to restore LTE and the sprint bands.
I've been reading a bit and asking question in a few other threads and it would seem the latest US998 version is 20d and coincided with the new LS update as well. I'm wondering if it'd be feasible to flash 20d via TWRP so I can have the newest security update, then flash the sprint modems by themselves from JW's 21a file or not. I'm just wondering how feasible this would be. I'm not entirely sure if flashing a modem from a different (and older) version of the software would work with the newer and different one or not.
If it is feasible, my next question is how I would go about flashing just the modem files. I cracked JW's zip file open and I can see theres a modem.bin file in there. I'm wondering if I could wipe everything else in the zip out and leave that, then flash 20d via TWRP, then the modified zip with only the modem, followed by root,no-verity, and rctd...
Will this idea work, or am I missing something vital either in the procedure or is the idea itself not possible? Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Sure you can

I don't find that "pixteria" one in the play store. The link seems broken. I do see the 2nd one, which is free and I installed it.
These don't have anything to do with substratum, right? I've played around with substratum some but have run into a situation where everything goes black and you can't navigate the screen anymore so I have to revert with TWRP. I think it has to do with themeing SystemUI but I'm not sure. I know that substratum has an addon that you can use if you don't have root but it requires hooking up to a computer. As I have root, I was thinking I should be able to use substratum without that addon and without hooking up to a computer. Anyway, I haven't had great luck with it so far.
It looks like this "G7 Black Theme for LG V30 & G6 Oreo" from WSTeams uses the native theming engine of LG V30 instead. I see that it themed the keyboard as well. NICE!! THANKS FOR THIS!!

What modem image did you flash? For another LG V30/V30+ variant?
Strange your software version now says US998 21A with May 2018 security patch. That SHOULD BE 20A. There's no such thing as US998 21A...
You ONLY flashed modem image using the older TWRP?

Sprint 21a(may security patch)

I haven't try to activated the phone with Sprint to see if its going to work, I thought let me try to get the correct modem flashed first
this is the modem.bin I used, I was told I have to change bin to img and then use twrp to flash it

maybe main firmware differs from used system image. something got mixed up, jep. but to be honest, i can't fully imagine what happened there, really it's modem.image flashing to system. fw version is stored in modem image too, but.. i don't know

first install new recovery 3.2.3-6a, then reboot to recovery and wipe cache. a system.img fitting your current main firmware should fix this. format system and flash the system image. the appropriate (or wished) modem can then be flashed via image flashing function to modem partition.
sry, was busy the last few days will not get really better because of christmas, bdays, broken car lol... but every two to three days i'm looking in xda there'll be a little update to twrp too, because some op partitions are available now. there's just an op image flashing function added (and some gatekeeper files for lockscreen settings tests), could be possible that this comes this weekend.

Retrieving and Patching Your Boot.img for LG Wing

woops didn't put this in guides, sorry
This should work for any KDZ firmware of any LG Device, but figured I'd write this for the Wing, as so far, its the only LG phone I own and the one I'm most determined with
This is not a full Root Tutorial. This is a step in the correct direction though. These are the After-Steps, so bootloader unlock is still needed. Sorry
What You'll need
- KDZ Tools (see attachment -- virus total scan just because: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file...zODc2ZTViOWQ1MTlmN2Q0NzFiMjI6MTYzNzgyMTYwNg==)
- Firmware KDZ file
- Magisk Manager installed on device that IS NOT your LG Wing (at least for me, explained below)
Instructions (video coming soon)
1.) Download KDZ Tools and extract them to a folder somewhere.
-- I usually make one on my external drive and drop stuff there, but desktop works too
2.) Download whatever firmware KDZ file you need
3.) Put that KDZ File in the same folder as the KDZ Tools
4.) Run "OneKeyExtraction.bat" and select Y if the KDZ is in the folder with this same file
5.) This takes A LONG WHILE and you need a good large bit of storage space available (50gb+) because the extraction goes raw format and some image files at first take up 20+GB as 1 file
6.) Once complete, you should have a folder named "F100X_usersigned_etc" ... open that to find your img firmware files. There's 31GB of IMG files here if its the Android 11 1020 KR FW
7.) Copy one of the boot.img to your device with Magisk Manager installed
-- The reason I stated on a different device, is that at least for me, Magisk Manager kept failing to patch on my LG Wing. When I put the boot.img on my OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, it patched just fine
8.) Open magisk manager, select Install, Select and Patch a File, select the Boot.img and patch it
9.) Once patched, that's a rooted boot.img, pull it off your device back to your computer and hold on to it for when we get a way to flash it and root the device!
root theory:
Interupting the LGUp flashing process of firmware when it gets to boot partitions to load custom boot.img's. How to do this exactly, not sure. If there's a way we can re-kdz these files from KDZ tool, that might work too
I can tell you right now, it wont work because the bootloader is locked. The hash of the patched boot.img on the phone won't match and you will get "Your device has failed a routine check, your phone is unbootable."
Sorry to debunk your theory. We need a firehose and a engineering bootloader.

Hi, are you willing to dump the bootloader from your phone? Because it looks like you have a development device, so it has an unlockable engineering bootloader that can be used to unlock other LG Wing and Velvet devices.
