Ring Doorbell Pro Tablet Integration -- How? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the Ring Doorbell Pro and am generally happy with its performance. I also just mounted an older Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 on the wall, as a hub for my various home automation lights, switches, etc..
I am trying to get the Ring Doorbell app to open when there is a ring, or motion is detected, to show the image from the Ring's camera for 40 seconds, then to close and return to the tablet's Home page.
I purchased Tasker, but unfortunately, my recipe is not working well at all. Here is what I have as a Tasker profile:
The trigger is a Ring app Notification either a ring or motion detected).
1. Open Ring app
2. Wait 41 seconds
3. Go Home
This works sometimes, but most of the time it either does not open the app, or it does not close the Ring camera-view window, or it does not go to the Home page, but stays on the Ring app's list view of events.
Has anyone done what I am trying to do and how did they do it? Any other suggestions?
I also have a Smartthings hub, if this would help.
Thanks!

Wake on notifications (Notifier Pro)

Has anyone gotten Notifier Pro or a similar app to work with the Note 2 (T-Mobile)? Its supposed to wake the phone and put a little banner on top with a quick line or two about the notification, basically like an iPhone's reaction. Unfortunately this app doesn't do anything when I get an email or install apps. I have every single app selected to trigger the action but I have no luck. I did activate the service in Accessibility options. It also works fine if you're using the phone already (phone isn't locked/sleeping). I did find an app that wakes the phone on notifications but without a little summary banner that's pretty useless.

Can't make split window function as I wish

I have an app that calls Ooma voicemail for a different # and then plays back the message out loud. When I retrieve a message, I know there will frequently be a phone number which I'll want to write down. I'm trying to use the split window to give me a half window of QuickMemo in which I would like to write the number being spoken through the player.
I put a split window shortcut on the bottom of the screen. However, no matter when I turn on the split window (before or after accessing the Ooma app), I get a panel of options: when I choose Quick Memo, it fills the screen (instead of halving it), and turns off the playback of the Ooma Voicemail. Seems to me there should be a way...but I can't find it.
I can see that actually, I'm trying to keep three apps open: the Ooma voicemail app, the playmusic app and then, the quickmemo app. Might there be a way before I revert to find a pen?
Thanks.

Remove Amazon Ads with Automation Tools (No Root/Unlocked Bootlocker!)

Android >= 7.0
Use an automation tool such as Macrodroid to do the below actions. If using Macrodroid, search for "Ned612" in template to copy macros. I am assuming this can be duplicated in Tasker and other automation tools.
Macro 1:
Trigger: Screen Off
Action: Create Custom Notification
Macro 2:.
Trigger: Screen On
Action: Clear Amazon Notification & Custom NotificationWhy this works:
Full screen ads are shown if no notifications are shown. Notification ads will show if 1 or more notifications are present. By creating a bogus notification when the screen turns off, we can clear the bogus and ad notification when the screen turns on.
Pros/Cons:
Pros: No root/mods required
Cons: When you first turn on your screen, the amazon ad and bogus ad may show for a second (literal second). Most of the time, it is quick enough that you will not notice it.
Android < 7.0
See https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4/how-to/moto-g4-remove-ads-unlocking-bootloader-t3541710
I noticed that you can still see the notification ads when the screen first turns on, but then it is cleared within a second. Since I have a persistent weather notification on my lockscreen, I was able to disable Macro 1 and instead of using a Screen On trigger for Macro 2, use Notification from Amazon Offers as the trigger. This made the ads 100% invisible.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I will update the macro for others. I also added a constraint to macro 1 to not create a fake notification if any notification is already present.
thanks for this! this will do until another method is found :good:
it works out.thank you
Great work! Works really well. I just used the clear since I use a weather notification. Works even with Macrodroid's notification hidden.
I have a question. I have Motorola G5+ and installed Macrodroid and these 2 Macros. Everything seemed fine, but then I noticed that sometimes when I unlock the phone it takes about 3 seconds to show my homescreen with all my icons (though the wallpaper is immediately seen and I even can pull down my notification (or status) bar for working with tiles...
I wonder is it my Gen 5+ specific, or it also happens on Gen4 phones?
PS just an update in this video. I see that there is some lock screen remains (with clock). Maybe the rule needs to be updated somehow?

Action custom notification from macrodroid
Restraint other notifications present
Macro 2:
Trigger notification received from Amazon offers
Action clear notification from Amazon offers
Macro 3:

Action clear notification from macrodroid
*** You must go to macrodroid notification settings and disable notifications while in lockscreen.

Is it for my case?
I just found a quick workaround - I just added the third action to
Macro 2:.
Trigger: Screen On
Action: Clear Amazon Notification & Custom Notification
Click to collapse
It's: Launch Home Screen
So Now I have no any delay, but if I had some software open it get's removed and I always open the Home Screen
Could this be done with Tasker?
On Android 7.0 just install Apex launcher and the Amazon bloat won't show, except for the Lockscreen.

As I know Apex Launcher does not have "Direct Dial" widgets => useless for me

Can you upload your macro? because i'm having the same problem that i takes a second to clear the amazon add, i tried to follow your guide but i wasnt able to make it work.
Found a single command to uninstall the package that delivers the Amazon ads:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4/how-to/to-remove-amazon-ads-moto-g4-running-t3614090
On Moto G5+ we were able to get rid of ads followed this instruction
Try This... Uninstall Ads... It Works!!

How do you all of this,

Including the weather notification on the lockscreen and changing the trigger, I'm a very big novice to Macrodroid

Stratos questions

Hi all,
I just got my Stratos and got a few questions wich I can't find here...
Running latest 2.3.7.
- I receive all my notifications double on my watch, no matter if it's Gmail, Outlook, Linkedin, Whatsapp etc etc. I only have the Amazfit app installed, nothing more.
- I there a way to adjust date format to EU standard (dd-mm-yyyy)?
- How can I add other sports/activities? I made one in the app but it doesn't show up in the watch. I want to track my Hiit training sessions like Les Mills Gritt (on fitbit yuo can use kickboxing or aerobis for this).
- I want to use the watch to control my music on my phone/tablet. Sometimes the music controller shows up in the watchface after swiping up but sometimes not and nitifications show up. How to call it in front?
- Every few seconds the watchface seems locked and I have to press middle button and after that upper before I can swipe the screen. Can you make this more easy?
- On my Garmin and Fitbit if I receive a notification I can see it directly on my watch without pressing buttons. How do I do that with the Stratos? Do I realy need to enter notification menu?
But most annoying for now is the double notification. Hope that someone can explain this to me...
edit: I just notice that the double notification is not exactly the same. If I get an email first notification is the email wich I can tap top open and read the whole email. 2nd notification is only a message with the subject which I can't open further.
edit2: seems like I receive 1 notification with that are emails. and a 2nd one with the email itself. Just recievd 4 mails in 5 seconds. Watch says: 1st notification you have got 4 outlook message. Then I have 4 extra notifications with those email messages.
Maybe it's because of Novalauncher/Teslaunread/Android one on my phone.
- Dateformat is not changeable in WFZ watchfaces, you have to search for an App WF
- No you can't create your own activities.
- music, no clue, don't use it.
- That is the reason why the watch has such a long battery live, if it goes into standby mode the screen is off.
- If you want a Garmin functionality, stay with garmin. This is how it works on the Stratos
Install watch Droid. Use that for all your notifications and to control music on the phone.

In the Amazfit app you can make an sport. Howcome you can't import it to the watch, whats the use of that function then.
It's a sports watch but gym activities like weight lifting or cardio are not included.
My fitbit also uses the standby modus, but aftre flicking the wrist (like the stratos) it comes to live and unlocks itself. No need to push buttons.
I just wanted to try something different the Garmin and Fitbit and this one looked stylish for daily wear.
I hope I can sort the notifications out. That and sports are the mean reason I use a smart sport watch.

Just installed it.
Is there an easy way to get in the notifications from watch droid?
I get around a notification every minute (busy job...)
You could install quick launcher so that you have easy access to watch Droid from the watch screen, but it interferes with custom keyboards if you're using those.
Alternately the paid version of watch Droid allows a notification to also be created within the watch notifications, which you can click to open the larger notification in watch droid

Thanks for the tip, I'm gonna try that out...
I also am a sportinstructor and wanted to use the watch to start/stop the music on my ipad while teaching the class.
That mostly work (can't find out when it does and when it doesn't) but it's not working when I track the excersice in sport on the watch. Then you can't control the music.
Is there any way to control the music (on Ipad) when you are inside a sport activity?
Also I'm still missing a way to track my Hiit training sport activity. In some video's etc I see aerobics as an activity. That one I can use. But it's not in my stratos.
Haven't figured how to change music on the phone during an activity unfortunately.
Stratos doesn't have an option to track HIIT. Some people have reported using elliptical to track gym workouts, but I've not tried that

Question Realme GT 5G - a few functionality issues

Hello,
I have been the owner of the Realme GT 5G phone for 2 weeks - it has Andoird 11 (v RMX2202_11_A.11) with realme UI 2.0. I spent hours trying to configure a few things, but I failed. As I didn't get the desired results, I decided to try to find help on the forum.
So, starting from the beginning:
1. I have a problem with the Facebook Messenger app, because when I work in vibration mode, notifications coming from the app are only signaled with a very short and delicate vibration. This vibration lasts for about 1 millisecond, which I can barely feel when I'm holding phone in my hand and expecting the notification. I checked vibration for notifications from other applications and they work properly.
a) I have all notification settings turned on in the Messenger app.
b) In settings -> Sounds and vibrations -> vibration intensity -> the sliders for the vibration with the ring and the vibration with the notification I have set to maximum
c) Battery settings for Messenger app are "optimization off"
When I have ring mode on, the Messenger notifications are properly signaled with a sound.
So what is wrong with vibration pattern for this app? Why the notifications are not properly signaled? What can I do to get normal vibration notification?
2. I have 2 games in "Game space app", version of the app is 4.5.27_6d29cc7_210603.
a) When I'm using app #1 - the Messenger chat bubbles are on top of the app, so I can see them for the entire time <- and that's what I would like to achieve.
b) When I'm using app #2 - the Messenger chat bubbles are hiding under the app #2, so I have to show the navigation bar (swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen), to see chat bubbles on the screen.
In settings for Messenger I have set "Display over other apps" as on.
Which setting is responsible for this feature?
3. Another problem with notifications from some apps (inter alia: Gmail, and game #1).
I'm using original Always On Display mode.
The problem is that some notifications don't come when the phone is locked and Always On Display is working.
Notifications from text messages, calls, facebook messenger or game #2 arrive normal, at the time of their receipt.
But from Gmail or game #1 notifications only arrive when I press the power button and wake up the screen. So when the screen is locked, there are no chances to get notification from those apps. This is silly because notifications are there to notify you of an event when you are not using your phone. But in this case, they only notify when the phone is in use.
a) Battery settings for these apps are "optimization off", "allow auto startup", "allow background activity".
b) In notification settings these apps have all settings on. They can notify everywhere and everytime but that doesn't solve the problem.
What else can I do, to receive these notifications on time?
Thank you for your help
