Youtube Background Playback 1.8.18 refuses to install! - Xposed Framework Modules

Each time I try to install the new module, it keeps saying "app not installed." What gives?

Why don't you try asking in the module's official thread, where the developer and other interested parties are likely to notice?

Uninstall the module and try to install it again, sometimes apks get corrupted or something changes in the installed files in your device that does not match with the updated version.
This should solve the issue.
Regards!

I'm not developer but as long as I know apps are able to block other apps instalaciĆ³n/upgrade. I guess google is doing that to avoid it use.

[Q] Google Music Assistance

Hoping someone could help:
I am running nightly 4/22 with gapps 4/22 I have never been able to load the google music app from the store. I am currently running the stock ICS music.apk. If I try to install the new google music i get the "Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again"... If I delete the music.apk or uninstall via apps or TI Backup and try to install the new version from the store I get "Application already exists". Does anyone have any clue why I am stuck in this stupid cycle...
I found the following via google support: If you receive the "Package file was not signed correctly" error, this is because your device is not on a user build. If your device is on a "userdebug" build with "test-keys" in the build description, the Google Play Music update will not be able to be installed from Google Play at this time.
Dont know if this applys to cm9 or not as I dont understand any of the above. I beleive I had heard of people running this app on CM9, so I assume its my machine specifically.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

UPDATE- I downloaded the newest google play music .apk and renamed to music.apk. I took the stock apk and replaced with the new one within the rom zip. re flashed rom and it worked. Unfortunately it doesn't show I have purchased via the google store, so it will never update itself. I will probably have to do this edit anytime I flash a new rom.
I have tried changing the apk name and it doesnt work. Also went to store and tried to install the app on top of the one loaded and it just sticks on "installing"
At least its working for now.

Google Play Services app issue...

Downloaded the new YouTube update today. Opened it. I get a pop-up stating I don't have Google Play services installed on my phone and its needed to run the app (or at least sign in).
So I go to download it... It downloads, starts installing and then I get an error message saying "incompatible with other applications using the same shared ID"
Anyone else having this issue? I'm at a loss...
Getting this same error on my iconia a500. Any ideas how to fix this?
Luckily I titanium'd recently so I was able to roll back but I want to upgrade and this is annoying the crap out of me.
Updated the error message
Argh... Tried a fresh install and still an issue... Wife is having the same issue
Are you guys running custom ROMs? What type? Stock based? Custom kernel? ASOP?

I have the exact same problem. I updated the YouTube app from Google Play last night. When I opened it, a message displayed saying that I needed to install Google Play Services. When I tried to install it, I got the same error message as you.
I tried doing a factory reset and then attempted to install Google Play Services before I restored any apps, but no luck.
I'm not running any custom ROMs. I'm running the stock version of Android (4.0.3) that came with my iDeaUSA YG A777 tablet. I don't have any custom kernels, either.

Running Vigor 360. Problem didn't show up until latest YouTube update. It seems others on Nils business sense are having issue too.
people with this problem can you please check something for me.
go to settings > apps "all tab" and look for google services framework\
if this is here: clear data, then reboot.
No go. Found it, cleared data, rebooted
Went into market, updated YouTube. Opened it, get the pop-up saying Google Play services needs to be installed, hit ok, takes me to the market to install it. It downloads, goes to install them I get the incompatible error.
This sucks :/

got the same exact thing.
thank god for titanium backup, restoring things so easily.
I had this problem running Nils Business ICS 3.6, flashed Rezone Redux last night.....now everything plays happily.
Yeah, I'm starting to think its a issue with a certain type of sock-based custom ROM.....
I think it has something to do with ROMs that already have services installed. I am checking it out.
Google app services issue
Yes having the same problem I backed out as per your instructions but as someone else has stated as soon as you try to sign in the problem occurs. Patiently waiting for your solution Nilsp you are the best. Thanks

A solution to this problem that worked for me was found on another Android forum.
Because I'm new to this forum, I'm not allowed to post links. So, if you put "Google Play services won't install" into Google (with the quotes), then it should be the first page that comes up.
PM me the link. I'll post it.
I'm also having the same problem. I've installed custom rom jellyblast.
Is there any fix yet?

Towelroot+KindleFree: update check, alarms and location not working

I used Towelroot and KindleFree to root my HDX and install Google apps. I did not disable OTA in KindleFee.
Now when I check for updates, it says "Last updated failed", when I try to set off an alarms off Amazon's site it fails and it doesn't locate the HDX.
I suspect that either Towelroot or KindleFree disabled something, but just to make sure, do they disable something by default that prevents those three things from working? Wanna make sure something else isn't wrong with my device.
well

Well I am guessing if you say you have gapps working that you had to install hdxposed module and framework... If you had read OP of the modification that you installed you would know already that the 1.3 version blocks ota, and probably as a side effect blocks a couple of other Amazon exclusive services .

Yes, I totally forgot that I installed that as well! It's what's doing it. I posted in that thread, but any idea what it does to disable OTA? I tried completely removing it modules, Xposed and ran the script to enable OTA, but it still doesn't work.

Magisk loosing after some time

every few days my magisk root always gets uninstalled and had to reboot to get it back, is there any fix for it?
this happens on any custom rom, fresh install
Probably because you are using incompatible magisk library and apk.

Apparently PlatStore is the culprit here. In the guise of checking for malignant apps, it removes Magisk. There is already information about this on XDA. I read it but am unable to locate it now. Disable Play Protect in PlayStore Menu and see if the issue is resolved.

It is sometimes enabled when PlayStore is updated. Otherwise it remains disabled, from my experience.

Outlook and company portal freak out on 'Magisk Manager'

I wanted to root my OnePlus 5t to install 'Google Feed' so was reading through tutorials on Magisk.
I thought maybe I'll download just the manager first, validate the security net, patch the boot image etc.
It seems, Outlook and 'Company Portal' app freak out as soon as they see 'Magisk Manager' installed. Even before beginning with rooting procedure, Outlook showed me the warning of data being deleted as root was detected.
Anyone knows about this ? I read Magisk module for Outlook but there are mixed reactions on those.
Many claims that it's not working.
Why do these apps panic on just seeing the manager installed

Maybe, they just warn you about security. A rooted device is many times considered insecure though I don't know why. You can try uninstalling them and then reinstalling after rooting ????

I can guess the 'why' part. The apps won't allow copy paste content outside of the app, take screenshots etc. which can be overridden from root I think

I think the 'Hide Manager' and 'Magisk hide' etc. will all be available only after rooting.
I am just being paranoid about whether these apps will work or not. Maybe I'll learn that only after I get my hands dirty
