Meizu has better build quality. RedMi has better hardware.
Just use for phone for browsing, calling, sms etc -> Go for M3 Note
You use your phone for more heavy tasks or find performance important -> RedMi Note 3
I think, M3 Note is better than Redmi 3 Note because of design. But Redmi 4 Note with Qualcomm is better.

I want to buy a new phone, I like xiaomi, I don't know which to buy, Redmi note 4 snapdragon, Redmi note 4 mtk, Redmi note 3 pro or Redmi 4 prime?? I would use it for regular apps(messenger, youtube, browsing) , some gaming (Hearthstone, clash royale, or anything), and for VR... I like modding, I like custom roms, but I want my phone to be futureproof, so, I want minimum nougat for it... I'm a music lover too, I love hard bass, and I want good headphone audio quality, I like slow mo camera, but I could live without it.. I'm not a selfie lover, so camera is not so important... Your last phone, what did you hate? What is the lack you regret the most? For me, its battery life...
So you choose redmi 3s or note 4x, for 4100 mah battery.
If you really want nougat out of the box, go for redmi 4 or note 4x, ask yourself what you really need...

I just bought the redmi note 3 special (kate) with 3gb/32gb. It is faster than the note 4 especially for gaming, and has more hardware features. If you look up the specs, the note 3 is better in everything except battery life- which is still incredible, just a bit less incredible. The extra battery life has a cost though, read on.
The note 3 comes with MM but there are more custom roms for it than the note 4 which I expect will not ever sell as many units, unless Xiaomi discontinues the note 3.
It seems that the ppl recommending the note 4 have not looked at the actual specs or reviews of the 3 vs 4, I cannot explain why they would have given you that advice above. I almost made that same mistake, thinking that 4 is better than 3 (since it is a higher number and it is a newer device), but look it up for yourself. 3 is significantly better than 4 and if you travel outside China and India, the note 3 special (kate) is the way to go because of the extra antennas.
The only reasons you would go with the 4 is if you need nougat and will not install your own custom rom to get nougat on the note 3. Also, if the antennas in the 4 are exactly the ones you need and you will not travel. And, if you have a reason to need the extra battery life and are willing to accept the lower CPU and GPU performance. The clear winner is the note 3, which should be priced higher than the note 4- but it isnt!
Just saw the Redmi Note 4X black version at geekbuying for $189. I'd probably get that.

I've both. I prefer Redmi Note 3 for performance.
You can't go wrong with any of the phones. If you care for performance get Redmi Note 3. If you can't find it, get Redmi Note 4X. There's much difference in battery on both phones. Redmi Note 4X might give you an extra hour of SOT but it lags in performance department.

Also it will get MIUI 9 Nougat 7.1.1 update i prefer get the sky blue colour if you get the 4X or get the space gray Note 3 (remember do not take he base model if you o for 4X go with 4GB+64GB and Note 3 3GB+32GB)

So my girlfriend's Redmi Note 4X just broke the screen and she needs a new phone. She was so pleased with it so we wants to try Xiaomi again. However, Xiaomi's model names are so amazingly stupid so I am having trouble choosing.
The first, cheaper, option seem to be the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus.

It is pretty cheap and seems most like the old 4X except the 18:9 screen.
The other option is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5

This looks like a newer phone with a new camera and a new(better?) processor but still with the same screen as the Plus model.
It is also a bit more expensive and only the chinese version seem to be available.
I have seen people here talking about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro but I can't find this model anywhere? Is it the same as Plus?
I was wondering what is the best choice? I will flash LOS on the phone, not sure if that will work on the chinese version or if that version even has support in my country?(Sweden). Which device has the most support here in the forums? Should I buy a "Global" version?

Pro version is availabe here in India.
One easy way to distinguish is PRO version has dual rear camera and 20MP front camera, where redmi 5 plus / redmi note 5 has single camera .

Alright! I just looked at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5px3gLUZgY and he said that the chinese version does not support Band 20, so I will probably wait until the PRO version comes out in a global version.

RN5 cameras are far better than A1's. Look at some reviews on YouTube. I would go Rn5, no doubts
Instead go for RN5 pro.

I think redmi s2 is just another redmi note 4 with different design, nothing is upgraded except dual camera bs
You could just stay with redmi note 4 . IMHO nothing wrong with it.
I myself just bought a redmi note 4 a week ago. I had the option of redmi note 5 pro, but I decided that 4 is better for my needs. 16:9 aspect ratio (yeah I don't like the 18:9 trend), physical navigation buttons, and camera that doesn't stick out of the phone are somethings that note 4 has and note 5 does not.

I would take that trade any day cause I don't game and only use the phone lightly, just browsing through the web and messaging. And, storing bunch of documents and reading them. Rarely use camera nowadays, just on special ocassions like festives or parties.
I don't think I have a single selfie on my phone .

I just bought RN10. Before I bought this, I was considering between 10 or (to wait) for the 11 to be out on the market and buy that, but in the end I decided to buy the 10.
Looking at the specs, for me RN10 is better. It's thinner, lighter, smaller, has OLED and has Snapdragon instead of Mediatek. And it is what available for my budget now. I predict the RN11 would be at higher price than my budget when it's out on the market.
YMMV tho
