Hey guys,
after 3 happy weeks with my p9000 it fell out of my pocket and landed right on the corner. Now the lower part of the display and the home button are not working anymore :crying:
Since I did not find any replacement display I thought about asking the community, if you have experience in this case. I am currently living in Germany and do not know if tome repair is a helpful adress, since the y did not respond my calls or mails.
I am happy for any tipps or feedback

Hab ein ähnliches Problem, bei mir funktioniert nur der Homebutton nicht mehr und manchmal hab ich eighenständinge Angaben, und hab tomrepair auch eine E-Mail geschrieben und bis heute keine Antwort erhalten.
Warte bestimmt schon mehr als eine Woche, find ich echt schade, super Handy aber kein Ansprechpartner bei Reperaturangelegenheiten..
Yeah tomrepair.de is a shame. Has anybody a source to buy a replacement display or has anyone bought a display at elephone itself? Is that possible?

I had a p9000. It always felt cheap, and also screen got broken (overnight on the table). I was looking into options to replace but i realised this phone does not worth repairing especially when part would cost half it's price. I had constant issues since purchase. I don't recommend repairing a p9000. even after repair you will get a phone that's supposedly high end but the materials, stupid designers and software renders it a lower-middle phone.
if you replace the screen it may need install driver and brush the
phone, they'll send you a file about how to do it

i have already make contact with tomrepair.de and they answer me after few days that they accept to take my phone to repair. Now i need to ship it to Spain

i have made a video to show you the way to repair the phone it is quite straight forward and at the end i show the driver you need to flash the phone with. just go to youtube and type Elephone P9000 screen repair and tutorial. it goes for 29 minutes i would post the link but i can not until i post 10 comments

Thank you for the video in elephone cc sell the screen but the site has been hacked at the moment so wait until they resolve the issue (if they know) . It cost me 76 USD plus 2.6 pp to UK ,arrived in 9 days, I did not receive the file or instructions so for the moment the screen is blank although the mobile works ok after the change, I can access by USB to the files. So receiving the file for reset seems to be a must have.
still i'm not able to install the driver. if i click the download button nothing happens
Does anybody know how to proceed if the metal frame has a slight dent such that the new replacement screen does not fully fit? f**k me

It's about time! They are very slow!
my qtek2020 which is about a month old came with that rom
and it's not SE (after reading this i may not want SE at all on my xda2 http://www.brighthand.com/article/Developers_Dealing_with_Windows_Mobile_SE?site=PPC since the ability to rotate the screen without a softreset at the cost of loosing the ability to run tons of older windows CE applications)
the 1.60.00WWE is ok apart from
2 times within 1 week where my qtek2020 died
and would not turn on and softreset dident do anything
so i had to do a hardreset to get my qtek2020 back into the land of the living
not sure if it's the rom itself or the new radiostack though
if it happens again i will try to remove the sim to see if it's a gsm
related issue
Until now i found that the mda2 tmobile 1.60.36 WWE is the best Rom around...what do you think? but i hope this qtek will be worth installing.
it is apart from the issues that i have with it
but of cause those could be related to some 3th party software i have put on
or even a hardware defect

with 1.66.00WWE i have don 6 hardresets these last 2 weeks
because it refuse to turn itself on
and sortreset dont do anything to wake it
i've tried to take out the sim and to charge the xda
but when it's dead like that i will not charge
so if these issues are rom related which i suppose they are
i would have to have pretty much instalility before i would move to this
rom on purpos

What kind of Ext. Rom stuff comes with it? (I mean please tell us after you have had a chance to take a look yourself -- :? )
I would be very interested in knowing, as the Imate version is basically naked with nothing really there of value (to me).

I am installing now.
On the first attempt, it failed after starting the erase process.
I did a reset as suggested and restarted the update.
This time I had a moving progress bar, the erase completed with no incidents and I am now at 11% during the write phase.
I will report on the contents once installed. Hopefully tonight. Then awaits a very long list of software, I won't restore any back-ups except my SMS database.
Where in the US are you based, I been there many times (NYC, Raleigh, NC, Florida (Miami, Boca Raton, Ft. Pierce and Orland) and my favorite, Austin, Texas.
I work for a decent size IT company who has granted me many trips there, last time 6 weeks writing a technical book in Raleigh. I miss the US..

I was going to take a peek into the file to view the Ext. ROM, but my "file peeker" program is at home.
Not gonna blindly install it "just for fun" as that would be like playing Russian Roulette just for fun.
I passed Seattle in January, having a stop on the way to Las Vegas. Cold and misty at the time.
It is writing the Extended ROM as we speek.

Only the MMS Composer (new) 1.6.0.12 appear new, there were no MMS composer in the previous image.
I have forgot how to make the extended ROM visible, will create a list of the contents once I find the solution unless someone beats me.
I had to do a hard reset (per instruction) after the update. The system then hung at boot time. A soft reset solved that, apps were installed and the system restarted for the usual setup.
I have not, so far, noticed anything new.
Need to re-enter my GPRS settings etc, I guess I will not get much work done tomorrow..

Anyone know of a suitable version of the M1000 ROM that I could use to flash my UK based O2 XDA2, as I use my Orange SIM with it, and can't help but wonder if flashing it with an Orange ROM image might not be a better idea?

Anyone noticed increased battery power consumption with this upgrade ?
I have a strong feeling that - under certain, but undetermined circumstances, the battery is drained much faster than previously.
One 8 hour night with MSN Messenger loaded only drained about 20%, but during the day the device went from 80 to 29%, and I did not use it that much.
I also had a period where turning the device off had a delay between the key press and screen blank of about 20 seconds. This lasted for some time, right now it happens immediately. This might be related to areas with poor or no signal.
I only used the new ROM for about 24 Hours, but have a feeling it is a bit less stable than the previous.
Only positive thing I noticed is that MSN Messenger now always signs on in the first attempt, prevously it always failed on the first attempt and usualy succeded on the second.

I can turn it on, but there is simply no net!
I have already tried different roms, but unfortunately without success ... (have a second TG01 and there everything works without probs).

if you bought it on ebay, just ask the seller for his original receipt, because it will shurely be still under warranty. If the seller doesn´t cooperate, try to give it back (with the help of ebay maybe) because he didn´t mention the WiFi-Problem.

I got to have a "cheap" chinese phone, a replic. of a HTC sensation (box say Star a3...) with already IceCream.
I have it as a second phone: running, swimming pool, often lying in the car...
the problem I have, is that form time to time, the phone lose the sound. Never-mind I change to silent and back to normal; never-mind apps like "Wired Headset Routing Toggle"; never-mind if it is the music playing, the incoming call's ring, or the morning alarm. The problem persist ...
I hadn't found what causes the sound to disappear, but the only option to get it back working is to reset the phone, very often only after unplugging the battery and turn it on again (software restart often do not solve the problem)
Something "funny", when the sound get lost, the back speaker emits a "dik-dik-dik" very low instead of the expected sound.
seems to be nothing about hardware, because a reset makes it working again, but neither a software because just restarting the phone often so not solve the problem...
does anybody knows something about it that can light me up a little ?
as said, I have it as a second phone (first is a real sensation) so my arm-band, car dock and so is reusable, so I wish not to "return and get back the money paid", but trying to make it work.
Hi, you dont look on Chinese phone forum? Look around gooigle for some forum and look for an update for your handy. When you dont found a rom,look for the same on your handy and flash it. Maybe my answer help. And you need to find many answer for your handy, because its a cheap copy and make a long way around the world from china.

yes, indeed I did google for it before posting here, but no luck. And I thought that maybe somebody have experience the same with a similar mobile...
As far as I can see, there is only one ICS room for that phone, that was born by a russian team, and later continued in china, which it was installed in my phone.
You look in chinamobiles.org. They're very helpful.
