Add support for HP Accelerometers on laptops - Remix OS for PC

May sound funny but almost all HP laptops (my 2012 laptop has it) have an accelerometer. Linux supports it and uses it as a joystick (which annoys some people when playing games) but Remix OS doesn't. I cannot use http://sandbox.juurlink.org/accelerometer/ which works on my Nexus 9 (running stock Android Marshmallow) but not in Linux or Remix OS. Can Remix OS add support for the accelerometer in the next release

It would probably help if you can identify the chip/driver that is being used.
Perhaps also pulling a dsdt would help them add it; if possible.

My laptop is a HP Pavilion g7 2269wm with an AMD A8-4500M.
And how can I show you the DSDT. Is there any Linux command or something (I have Linux installed)

The 'recompompiling it yourself' section here, should get you a readable dsdt.
Also as your on linux (and the accelerometer works, right?):
lsmod should show all the modules inc. for accel...
lspci or lshw might show the chip name/type.

I don't think there's any private info there, but feel free to remove. Are you sure it's actually an accelerometer or could it be just the hinge switch?
As I'm not seeing anything pointing to an accelerometer there, but there is a module for the hinge switch (hp_wmi).
Edit. Sorry missed hp_accel; the driver for the chip lis3lv02d should be included...

Some HP laptops have an accelerometer which is for HDD protection I guess. If it detects a high speed movement, the HDD stops and it prevents the HDD from the damage. (Like if you drop your laptop...for example, you will be able to recover all the data most likely.)
And i guess it's still possible to use that thing for other uses with a proper driver/code.

Seems more like a Chrome/html5 app issue to me.
I get acceleration values being passed to chrome as this html5 app works

Sensor Box doesn't work. But running watch -n 1 cat /sys/devices/platform/lis3lv02d/position works in both Remix OS and Linux and changes when I move the laptop (HDD probably turns off).
So maybe Remix OS isn't giving the accelerometer sensor to the apps

What does 'getprop | grep hal' show, and does 'modprobe hdaps' do anything?
And maybe 'getevent' [ctrl+c to stop]; it couldbe just that it isn't/can't be used as an accelerometer, but just a joystick... do you have a /dev/js1 or /dev/input/js1

getprop | grep hal shows nothing and modprobe hdaps also does nothing. And getevent shows events coming from /dev/event4 . I also don't have those joystick files

[Q] Smartpad based on msm7227, skype, flash, rom - help!

I am the owner of one noname device from China: HOEX 3G SmartPad (HO350, M727 3G)
The first problem, it has no IMEI So I can't install "navigon select" (says no device id), In the Market skype is not found. I installed some version from xda.developer forum, but the video is not supporded Also adobe flash player not founded in the market I installed the flasch player from here
Animation and games are worked, but video crashs the browser. My newby questions:

With Z4Root it also not work. It starts and show Attempting to apply root... for all the time. What is the procedure for rooting? Wich file must be changed? I have exactly the same problem. I took a Tablet phone from China.
However when I try to connect it VIA USB to my laptop it says "Found New Hardware" Qualcomm HSUSB Device" I didnt find the driver on the Internet as well
Also I tried the Z4Root Application and when I press Root. It simply shows : Attempting to Apply Root... for long time and then I finally reset the device.
Can someone please help us...

Porting custom ROM to Chinese tablet. RK3126

Hi there fellas. I recently bought a 7" Chinese branded tablet (TABLET INNOVATOR 7DTB41) for 50€. The tablet has some good specs for its money (see at the end of my post). It comes with a 5.1.1 lollipop phone ROM full of bloataware. First boot and the device was noticeably slow at every task. I proceed rooting it with kingroot and installed a sys app uninstaller to uninstall all the bloataware. There was the point I understand the ROM was a phone ROM because inside there were apps like Phone, SMS, Call history and so on. Anyway, after the cleanup the device was running significally faster, but still there are lag spikes.. What I want the experts here to ask is, if I can port a custom 4.4.x ROM ( like CM ) to get the best performance.

Were you able to get any help in this regard? I have an RK3126 with android 4.4.4 and I wish to upgrade it to at least or more. Do you have any idea on to how to get this done?

[HELP] Need advice to unbrick my box :/

Hello!
I`ve an issue with my android tv box.
WARINING : It will be a long detailed post.
First of all, I got my box like a month ago from aliexpress. Its an Magicsee iron s905x 2/8 box. I plugged in the box everything was working but after close examination the box had a "modified" firmware. Its was contacting some random site and I didn`t like that at all. So I start searching for custom firmware. First one I tried was s905x_2G_atvXperience_v2FF.img. I copied the image on a micro sd and went in recovery with the thoothpick method.
The image flashed but after like 10 minutes the display disapeared and the led on the board turned red. I did wait like 2 more hours in case something was going on in the background but nothing did happed. So i reseted the box and the 2 red light came back immediately and no display at all through hdmi. I did tryed to flash back the image with the thoothpick method but the reset button doesnt seems to do anything.
After a bit of research I decided to hook up through UART port. I then saw this was happening :

this just keeps looping and looping. I even checked if the reset button had any impact on this and no. Nothing change. Im not an expert but I think the system doesnt boot far enough to consider the reset. Did some more researched to finally find the "short pin" method. I did that and some kind of progress :

this is with official firmware from magicsee website : IRON S905X 20180727 upgrade.img
The 2 led turns blue but the box seems frozen that way. The remote button doesnt do anything. If I reboot the boot loops come back..
With all the other img I tried I got errors like ( poison rom, AtvXperience and IRON_s905x_aml_upgrade_package_20170630_SN.img )

I've also tryed with multiple MicroSD card. Tryed to play with the SD card burner option .
As for USB burner, I was never able to get my device decoded. I did my own cable. When I short the pins I got a detection for like 2 sec and then it disapeared.
On my board I see MAGTV101-v2.2 2018-06-25.
I did try to google for like iron_s905x_aml_20180625.img but never found anything good using that :/
The only thing I haven`t done is removing the heatsink to check if its really a S905X.
So anything else I haven`t tryed? As I said im not an expert but this isn`t my first time playing around with devices. Im pretty sure my box isn't dead I just dont understand what exactly is wrong. If anyone can give my a bit of adivce so I could get this box back running i would greatly appreciate!
