Yes. I have tested.

How long have you been running at 1.8 GHz stable? I get reboots on the kernel this is based on but im not sure if its temp related I just don't want to fry my phone

Do not worry! 1.8ghz is stable, because I use configs of lenovo a6000. With zzmoove governor, the phone only run at 1.8ghz when playing heavy game or many tasks. If you do notwantto run at 1.8 ghz you can set it at 1.4 , 1.5 or 1.6ghz instead.

I would not recommend ANYONE to use 1.8GHz overclock, that is putting way too much stress on the cores of the CPU, you will in time end up damaging your CPU, these phones were only meant to handle so much speed from the CPU, you have been warned.

I buy these phones for development and testing anyway ??? if I fry it I have 3 more now to replace it. I tried 1.8 but I think I'll stay at 1.6 for good measure. Thanks for your work and I'll let you know if I have any reboots, and I'll pull any logs as needed ???

It is for cm13 based rom

Geekbench shows no difference between running at 1.2Ghz and 1.8 Ghz. testing now with Antutu.
i Have noticed that without the zzmoove governor the system almost always prefers to run at 1.8 Ghz

So here are the results.
With the zzmoove governor , overclock to 1.8Ghz and Gpu overclock to 600Mhz the device scored 26529 in Antutu
With the same governor, CPU clocked at 1.2Ghz and Gpu clocked at 400Mhz the device scored 26794 in Antutu.
The overclock provided no benefit infact it ran slower in every test compared to the 1.2 Ghz clock.
I'm still going to use this kernel with the overclock to see if it provides any real world advantages cause synthetic benchmarks don't matter nearly as much as everyday performance.

Also I wanted to knw if enabling fasst charge affects the device's hardware (Like harm it).......

Nice testing. Battery consumption when overclocked?

I couldn't really test after that..... after a reboot the kernel won't overclocked above 1.4 Ghz
Edit. Never mind, after a quick reboot it over clocked back to 1.8 Ghz

Discussion on our phones' gpu

Well, there was some discussion a while back about how our gpu supported opengl es-1.1 and would support es-2 with the eclair update. However, even with minicm 7, my device shows up in quadrant as supporting only opengl 1.1. I would like to find out what is going on and receive information about others' devices. Do they support opengl 2?

Never thought about that.
now after reading your post i think this is hardware related. not software.

I can assure you that it is v2.0. CF3D only supports v2.0 and above. And as X8 and X10 have same processor and GPU, it is definitely v2.0.
P.S. CF3D works on my phone.

The problem must be with quadrant.

Just to further the discussion, our phones' gpu is awesome. 50 fps in the quadrant planet and moon 3d test. That is, however, with a non overclocked CPU. There is a bug where overclocking the CPU actually underclocks the gpu. If the devs are able to find a way to use their custom kernels to overclock our gpu, I am very sure that the 1600 mark in quadrant can be broken. Our phone would be absolutely smooth and might almost be as snappy as a desire. I can even get 1300 on quadrant when overclocked to just 768 mhz with 128 mb swap, supercharger v6, as card cache 4096 kb and compcache disabled.

What's your basis for that? I think actually that overclocking the CPU also overclocks your GPU.
It has been noted numerous times in doxianh's x8oc.ko thread that 2d and 3d performance is consistently lower in quadrant when overclock is enabled. Furthermore, people with overclock enabled at 600 mhz almost always get lower quadrant scores than with overclock disabled. When I enable overclock at 600 mhz, quadrant scores of 600 to 700 are shown. With overclock disabled, I get up to 900 on quadrant. Quadrant scores have been known not to definitely show the true performance of a phone, though. We should try to repeat this experiment with neocore and other fps benchmarks.

Bump? I'm a bit confused about our gpu.
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
Bas on your analysis, it does seem so. I guess the Adreno 200 GPU needs a specific clock trigger to be of optimum speed, otherwise it will downclock to save power. It does make sense from a mobile part design perspective. So it seems the cpu core and gpu core are individually clocked rather than synced.
I think that they are synched, but are synched reversed- proportionally
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
is the score the same with downvolt disabled or enabled?
Undervolt, you mean? It should not have any effect on performance I guess.

Stable oc

I know every cpu is not quite the same but I'd like to know what you guys can get your Ace to do.
For some reason I can only get a stable oc up to 864Mhz and I have heard people can get stable oc up to 921MHz
Is it just my cpu being a special one of am I doing something wrong?
It's not the kernel because the kernel I've got goes up to 1036MHz also I'm running Cyanogenmod so I'm not sure What else I could be missing.
Also please post your stable oc frequency please because I like to know what can the ace do without crashing.
My phone runs smooth on 921MHz all phones are different Dw about it
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
You should check alone how much can you overclock you ace by doing small steps and test you phone stability. An universal frequency for all Ace doesn't exist, any Ace can by run at different speed. It is dependent from the production quality.
I was trying to get my ace to do up to 902 Mhz at the max but it freezes at 883Mhz. And I was slowly changing the max frequency every 15min with light use but it just sticks at 883
hello, I´m using CM7 and the kernel patch to oc the ace, my stable cpu frequency is 902mhz and goes realy smooth on any game and also the flash player runs pretty good. this is my quadrant standard score:1989
It's all different. I have it run 883 stable, stable as in no reboots for long usage. I can set 921 without instant reboot but it will crash apps eventually.

Okay, so we (AOKP Xperia Project Team) are working on safe overclock. We can't find where voltage control is (these devices use new board, so everything is different) so I think 1.2GHz max should be fine, we shall find out.
If anyone knows where STE have hidden their voltages, feel free to tell me

Okay, I dislike setCPU, it's not reading from sysfs so it doesn't tell me that I am at a frequency when I am.

Maybe is the cpu... it's not that great SoC....
Can't you try with 1.1 or maybe 800, we now that 800 works because is so on ace 2, works at 800?
Its not the CPU.
ST-Ericsson have decided to use OPP (operating performance point) in their kernel with their board, meaning for every defined OPP you have you also have a frequency. So if you add a frequency, you need to add an operating performance point, and you can't just add one, it isn't that simple.
It is still possible to overclock but by doing that you loose stock frequencies (so it isn't safe) and without the ability to add more frequencies to the table, there will be no overclock from me, as their is not really much point.
tl;dr
stock frequency table:
200MHz 400MHz 800MHz 1000MHz
possible overclock frequency table:
200MHz 400MHz 800MHz 1200MHz
what we wanted to achieve:
200MHz 400MHz 800MHz 1000MHz 1200MHz

Yes, I understand.... So no safe overclock for now.... but what's wrong in 200-400-800-1200? I think it's also safe...
How did krappabel do get a 1150 oc? Well with 1200 prestation wasn't so better...
Because with 1200, there is no 1000, so when the phone would normally jump to 1000, it jumps to 1,200, meaning more time in higher state and more risk of damaging device.
But, if you want, when we release next kernel I will release 1GHz version and 1.2GHz version

First!
Sweet! If you need anything just throw me a pm.
Heck if you want to use my installer using cons scripts go ahead. I'm certain he wouldn't mind.

Some time off would be nice. Could you PM me that? Lol. I work 12 hour shifts five days a week that alternate from night to day shift hours every week! I actually posted this while on break. It is your 1.7 installer I'm using

Hey, we can be shift work pals...
I work a 28-day turn around, alternating (days-nights) 12hr shifts, as well (Hexcel Corp.).
Not a bad job, but the schedule sure sucks for family life.
Good to see some options popping up for JB Kernels! Thanks for this.

TWRP didn't do it for me. With your directions, or with a dirty reflash of pacman. I'll try a clean reflash tonight.

You can always flash another kernel if you have issues with an install. Flashing the kernel that you know works with your recovery should fix the bootloop. Nandroid should not be necessary.

So far no JB kernels have worked with my device when flashing through TWRP. I would have done that, just that I had nothing to flash. Besides, my nandroid was only like 2 days old.
Those using the initial build please update. Adaptive governor was causing reboots.

Awesome job bro. Can't wait for jb to stable out a little. Also.. you make cm9? You make cm9 nao! Lol jk jk keep it up
Just added this governor, time to test her out. If testing goes well I'll update later today
'abyssplug' - this driver mimics the frequency scaling behavior in 'ondemand', but with several key differences. First is
that frequency transitions use the CPUFreq table directly, instead of incrementing in a percentage of the maximum
available frequency. Second 'abyssplug' will offline auxillary CPUs when the system is idle, and online those CPUs once the
system becomes busy again. This last feature is needed for architectures which transition to low power states when only
the "master" CPU is online, or for thermally constrained devices.
Does this kernel have cpu oc or just gpu oc?
sorry for the dumb question because I dont have a rezound. I am doing this for someone else.
