[ROM][MASTER][7.0] AOSP Master Branch Built by freak97 [2016-09-17] - Nexus 6 Android Development

This rom doesn´t use the stable aosp tags as base like the other custom rom do. It uses the aosp master branch as base. It´s the bleeding edge branch from google with the latest and greatest code
What makes the master branch beetter then the stable branches?

It has the features stock android has + the option to change the statusbar clock (you find it in the clock settings)
What doesn´t work?
Some audio issues with Verizon
How to install it?
*Boot into recovery.
*Perform a FULL factory wipe and wipe/system and dalvik cache as a precaution

Verizon phone call's audio is broken. It'll connect and ring my landline but i can't hear caller at all. They can hear me but I can't hear them. 4G data and WiFi work fine though. This is on N Preview 3's 05.36R radio and bootloader. Clean flashed with Banks nano Gapps. Everything else works great and fast. This is on stock kernel.
EDIT: Sorry, I missed spoke. Banks only has one gigantic 334 MB Gapps and Open Gapps has PICO and NANO versions.

Wow. I am going to have to try this out. Ran Master branch on my Nexus 10 for a bit and it was pottery cool for a stock type ROM. Thank you for sharing.

I guess this will be a wrong/stupid question but:
does the included kernel force encrypt?

The kernel doesn´t force encryption
What do you think should I remove the dialer and contacts apps? Google released them in the playstore with features the aosp apps don´t have

[ROM][4.4.4][YP-G70][GCC4.8] Nexus 5 Experience, crDroid for Galaxy Player 5.0

Hi G70 users!
I've built some KitKat based custom ROMs for GP 5.0 out of opensource device and kernel source and I'm here to share them with you
These builds include
- ArchiDroid optimizations V3 by @JustArchi
- Nutella kernel & device source by @Meticulus
- SaberMod Toolchain by Saber-Dev (I'm not sure what their xda username is..?)
Just download one, reboot into recovery, wipe userdata and flash the ROM with GApps.
Huge thanks to @Meticulus, as our Galaxy Player would have been dead ages ago if it were not for him.
Downloads
N5X: (Something went wrong in the last build, figuring out what's the troublemaker..)
crDroid: http://mii.iptime.org:88/samsung/galaxy%20player%205.0/crDroid/
(Zoom out for smaller text sizes, if too big)
crDroid Mirror: http://achonapp.com/?path=/samsung/GALAXY PLAYER/YP-GB70/kykint/crDroid
PA GApps: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=15797a (Micro-Modular recommended)
SuperSU: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
What's working
Probably everything that works on @Meticulus 's CarbonROM.
Tips
Tap 'build number' repeatedly in Settings > Device info to enable Developers options.
Set max frequency to 1400MHz for better performance in Settings > Performance > Processors.
Set current runtime to ART for super smoothness in Settings > Developers options.
Enable 'Force highend graphics' to use Dynamic System Bars in Settings > Performance.

Kernel: https://github.com/kykdev/nutella_kernel_samsung_venturi

Hardware: https://github.com/Meticulus/android_hardware_samsung
Check out https://github.com/kykdev/android if you want to build one by yourself. Only 'crdroid' branch is working properly at the moment.

Kudos
Thank you kykint, Meticulus, JustArchi for your excellent work on this ROM and it's ancestors !!
I followed the suggested tips in your original post, and it's my first successful attempt to enhance performance while maintaining stability.
Keep up the good work !! :good: :good:
Sorry for the late update, a new build will be up this weekend with the latest SM toolchain & google dns fixes and possibly a booting N5X rom!
New build is UP!
crDroid 14/12/22
- Built with latest SM toolchains
- Added back cyanogenmod dnsmasq
- Fixed google dns FC in codinalteparts (not sure if fully working, though)
- Download available at http://mii.iptime.org:88/samsung/galaxy%20player%205.0/crDroid/
Sorry for being late. Will be back with N5X soon.
Kykint-
It appears that the DSPManager.apk may be missing from the System App folder of this crDroid Rom. I am receiving "unfortunately, dsp manager has closed" errors whenever attempting to play any music.
This occurred on both builds of this Rom. Your old Nexus5 build is working normally and I confirmed that the DSPManager.apk is in that Rom.
I am now trying to add the apk to the System App folder of the crDroid Rom. I'll let you know if that works.
Other than that issue, thanks for a great Rom!

Thanks for your report.
Actually the dspmanager apk is well located in system/priv-app and my own GP is playing musics without any problem. Try factory reset and re-installing ROM, and then let me know if it is still broken.[emoji6]
hi. do I have to install older CM rom before intall this one? I'm on 2.3.6. Thank you
as I received no answer I tried to install, but recovery says I can't install because my device is herring, not venturi. what is that? my device is YP-G70 international
solved: install CM9 is mandatory

I solved it by using a different gallery app. But I'm using the xda premium latest one. Besides the on screen keys not adjusting everything seems very stable and fast!

I got it fixed, I used a 5.1 GApps package instead of a 6.0 one. Also, is the notification slider functional for you guys? I slide it and I feel the haptic response but there's no symbol in the status bar denoting if the phone is silent or in priority mode. I'm not sure if it is actually in the mode and it's just not showing the symbol or if the slider is just not functional the moment. What are you guys experiencing?
some bugs: camera with green line and in browser i am not able to download anything xd i tried because the gapps i had didnt work for me and the alert slider dont work well
Quick Q if possible
After Flashing Do we Disable Recovery (swipe to disable before reboot in the TWRP)modification by rom ? Because most of us have TWRP and in my understanding CM13 comes with it's own custom recovery.

Every CM rom has its own CM recovery.. You need to disable it from developer settings..
Ok so a few things from me: same green bar in camera app with lines, notification slider creates a haptic response when moved but no settings changed, Facebook and Facebook Messenger apps will not open and crash every 2-3 minutes when they try to auto-start (I had to uninstall them), the Google Phone app (downloaded from the play store, not the AOSP one) doesn't show a dialer when in-call so I have no controls and can't even end the call (I had to uninstall and revert back to AOSP one which works fine), and I am not able to change my mobile data monthly reset date. Everything else seems to work just fine

This is running well, it is a bit finicky on the initial flash/boot, but i expect that from master builds.
For those having trouble with it, make sure you're rebooting recovery after installing the ROM, before you flash any other files. (You can also unmount system after flashing the ROM, then proceed with gapps and su; Seems to have the same results.)
SU is required to flash separately if you want root. Initial boot does in fact take up to 10 minutes. Restoring batches of apps with tibu gave me soft boots and system UI force closes, but google app restore seems to work fine.
Will run for a bit, thanks for the master build.
I'll feedback soon.
Update: got a call and had no phone popup to answer it. Nav keys were also unresponsive during the ringing. I did manage to callback from the notification shade, but still didn't get a popup indicating anything, just heard it ringing through speaker.

Hmm, I thought that too, but when I checked the defaults it only listed the one phone option. Though to be fair I was experimenting with different gapps packages and different install methods.. I'll check it out again, it may have been one of the previous installs i checked it on, thanks for the tip
Update again: did a fresh install, actually had to install google dialer (and set as default) because it didn't have a phone app.
Should I add back the dialer?
I removed it because the aosp dialer because the dialer in the playstore has new features the aosp one doesn't have like call blocking.

Your call really, could just as easily update the OP with a flashable dialer, or instructions to install one, for those of us that don't flash a gapps package that includes one. Just unexpected.

Try using a gapps package that includes a launcher, like opengapps micro or one of those.
Hi. I tried open gapps full and pico. Surely full must have the launcher that micro does? Thanks

Yeah they should both have the google now launcher. Do you have leftover layers in vendor/overlays perhaps? I can say rebooting recovery/unmounting system (after ROM install) is definitely part of the required steps, in case you skipped that one. I know you said you followed the directions, though.
Beyond that, I'm out if ideas :/

It is not Anik's build look at the title and read the description. I shared it because there are people like me who wants to taste new version quickly. You can wait for stable or official build its your choice.
has VoLTE already built in this rom?

Use 3rd party apps.
Up and running - haven't used it a great deal so far, but it boots, is stable.
If you need gapps, just google Gapps for Android 8. I found that the flash never 'completed' in TWRP but it was fine after a force reboot.

To those who doesn't want to use navigation bar you can edit your build.prop simply add qemu.hw.mainkeys = 1
There is also a bug. Long pressing home button doesn't lead to recent apps for this use 'button remapper' app to fix the issue.
where can we get GAPPS Android OREO?

I used this batch here.
Flash in TWRP. Note: the install 'process' never completes, but after it returns a successful flash, press and hold the power button to force a reboot. Works fine..
Is it good working?
Any fix for camera?
