Bootloop and phone name change - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,i've come to ask you guys for help because i'm getting desperate here.
In an attempt to update my rooted b121 honor7 i have tried to flash the stock b121 and from there everything went downhill.
First i could not properly flash the images, but in the end i managed to flash system, boot and recovery from the fastboot and b121 was back online and unrooted.
The problem was that the phone would not update to more than b180 so i tried to flash the b100 and of course it did not work.
So,i restore to an early nanadroid backup i made last year and everything worked fine.
The next morning i flashed a freshly downloaded b121 and everything started going bad.
The phone got stuck in a bootloop and when i tried to fix it by deleting everything and reinstailling it again (i tried to restore it with nanadroid backup and with image flashing) the phone changed name.
From PLK-LO1 its became GEM-703L,and no matter what i do or how many times i try to restore it,nothing is changing, even if the process goes perfectly.
I am at the end of my rope, and i hope you guys can give me a hand here.
Thank you.
P.S. Forgot to add,the phone is stuck in an endless bootloop, and it keep resetting, the only way to keep it shut is to turn it off from TWRP recovery.
Stock Bootloader works, but stick recovery doesn't even load,it just continues to bootloop.
If i flash TWRP everything starts up properly tough.

You got the wrong stock recovery. Been there.

LGNPSTing an Encrypted Phone

Hi , I have a question.
Can I LGNPST an encrypted phone.
My device seems to be encrypted and I am not able to boot into the ROM.
I have wiped the device via TWRP , but not I was wondering will I be able to flash Custom roms or stock roms back on it , or Restore backup ??
I am able to boot into recovery though , but the sdcard partition seems corrupted or encrypted.
A help would be appreciated.
EDIT :----------------------------------
This is strange.
I installed CM10.2 and rebooted it works fine , but when I reboot my phone after the CM10.2 has booted up fine , it shuts down .
That is I am only able to boot once after installing Cm10.2 , after which in next reboot the device doesn't boots up.
I have to install Cm10.2 everytime , my device switches off.
Strange .
I encrypted my phone by mistake and LGNPST got me back. I remember .. After flashing it still said phone was encrypted upon bootup and prompted me to factory restore the phone ? Then I went in the recovery and restored my backup

Thanks for replying.
It appears that mine wasn't accepting any custom Roms, giving the trouble as I described it earlier.
I had to lgnpst the alt bins then flash the stock at&t jellybean Rom.
Its working fine now,

Stuck booting into recovery

Hi! I've been messing with my phone for a while and have it rooted and Bumpd with TWRP and I recently decided to switch back from the unofficial CM12 to the system backup I made before flashing CM. After I restored it, it wanted to install a sprint update and said it would reboot to install it, stupidly I pressed "okay" and didn't realize that it probably wouldn't install correctly with TWRP and not the original recovery. Now every time I restart the phone it boots into recovery (I assume because it wants to install the update). I have tried to boot it into download to reinstall the stock firmware but it still boots into recovery. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Have a great day! from my LG G3

Anyone know where to find a CWM recovery image for this thing?

So I tried TWRP and have had extremely bad luck. I thought I bricked the phone at first, then it was stuck in a boot loop, THEN TWRP could not read from the internal memory, and to top it off, when I finally got the phone to boot up, I went ahead and bought a sim card and got it hooked up to ATT, and when I inserted the sim card, it automatically rebooted the phone into TWRP and reset everything (deleting all my apps and stuff) and got stuck in a boot loop.
I had an old phone and used clockwork mod recovery without any issue. Does anyone know where to find a CWM recovery image for the z5 compact?
Actually, if anyone has even the STOCK recovery I would be forever grateful. I would rather stock than TWRP at this point. I don't want to risk my phone being reset and having everything deleted again.
Same issue, unable to boot rom, TWRP has no access..

I am experiencing the same issue. I would like any working recovery/rom at this point. My Wife has the identical phone. Can I make a copy of hers to help the OP and my phone out?
I followed the following;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/development/rom-cyanogenmod-13-sony-xperia-z5c-t3339930
and have tried a few times now. As well as other versions of TWRP..
On a side note I wouldn't mind testing new roms/features being implemented by developers. Please let me know where the best place to get involved would be.
Thanks in advance,
David.
found a boot.img and TWRP that worked for me..
So after a lot of flashing I found one that works.

at least I can get twrp working for now..
I still can not get CM installed. Each time I get 'Error executing updater binary in zip'. I will have to do some more reading tomorrow.

Red Honor Bootlogo & Marshmallow Update Questions

Hello there I have a couple questions regarding to the red honor boot logo and also on how to update from a stock rom with TWRP and root ( also a couple of system modifications ) to the new B331 update.
So heres the rundown, when I first got my honor 5x I did not spend too much time on the stock rom I went ahead and rooted my phone and installed TWRP then made a backup of my stock rom (B151) no modifications other than SuperSU being installed. After that I went ahead and installed CM13 nightlies and updated mostly everyday up until the build July-18-16. I had adoptable storage enabled with my 32GB SD card and I totally forgot to disable the adoptable option before I reverted to my stock backup so when I went onto TWRP and tried to restore my backup I always got an error where it said something along the lines " error; could not find system" but instead of it backing out it continued to restore and bricked my phone. I had a somewhat clever idea to flash any build of CM13 I had on my computer and guess what it booted then I disabled the adoptable storage and booted back onto TWRP restored my backup and everything was fine until it booted and I noticed the honor boot logo had a red "h". I found that weird since I have restored my backup previously and that never happened. Anyone knows what it could mean and how to fix it?
My second question is how should I go about updating to B331? Should I download the stock recovery B151 ( since that is what shipped with my phone and is what my backup is) then revert to my near stock backup, flash stock recovery and unroot then update through cslA's B331 instructions? Or should I somehow fix the red honor boot logo then go ahead with what I stated above or is this all done differently? I am not a newbie at these kind of things I just moved onto more important things in life and simply want to update my phone. My needs for flashing new roms daily are over and I just simply like huawei's UI as it just "works" for me. Thanks to anyone who responds anything is appreciated as I can't seem to get my old skills working again. Haha:laugh:
Fibgerprint aint working right? U cant go back to stock with just a normal twrp backup. Install an update.app through dload for your region and then apply the twrp backup.. Make sure you are on B151 Recovery!

No, my fingerprint is working... I just wanted to go back to stock ROM with root and that's what I got just now I have a red honor bootlogo. Now I want to update to marshmallow but I have a fear that even if I follow the steps onto reverting to stock I may brick it because of the red bootlogo.
So what you are saying is I should download my B151 recovery and firmware to revert to stock then update and from there I should root and install TWRP?

Please help, stuck and think I may have ruined phone.

Hey, new here....
So a while back a rooted my phone, which I followed a tutorial and all was fine, my phone has been fine. But today I decided I didn't want it rooted anymore and just wanted a clean install asif the phone was brand new, so I went into backup in settings and pressed complete system reboot and confirmed...
Then after a few minutes it send med to my team win recovery project recovery (the custom recovery I had flashed in order to root)
And so on there I reinstalled backup...
But now basically im stuck in a total loop where it will not let me do anything except load up twrp! =(
Even when I switch off and back on just straight to twrp... I have done "wipe" option, done "restore" option to no avail.
I want to get rid of twrp and just clean install nougat, is there anway I can do or have I ruined my phone?
Many thanks anyone who can help...

All you got to do is download sp_flash tool latest version, load the scatter file of rom, then simply go to options and then click to Connection, set usb speed to full speed, and Battery to w/o battery. Then make sure you have selected all the files needed to flash, next click the start button and connect your elephone while holding the volume + button. It will take a quite while but it will be successful.
