Cracked boot.img for Redmi Note 3 SD - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hello i have a question the cracked boot.img with what would help the device what for what is this file??? I know that is just for flashing other roms like cm 13.

Actually boo.img is works like bridge between Software and Hardware. If you want to flash MIUI Rom on your device you must flash cracked boot.img otherwise your mobile get bootloop.

[Q] Which twrp i have to choose after unlock? [SD]

Hi,
I read many many Tutorials and Threads and it seems like there are a hundred ways to unlock and flash twrp. But one thing I miss: Which twrp version to flash first? Directly after unlock.
As far as I understand i have to flash a Recovery as img in fastboot mode if there is no twrp installed.
My Questions:
1. Can I flash stock twrp from official twrp site?
2. Should I flash a custom twrp (alka or coffa)? If yes, why?
Thanks!

1. Yes, you can.
2. I suggest to flash alka, because you can do a full phone backup in case something goes wrong. It cannot be done with stock TWRP.

Perfect thx
One more question: as I understand, one advantage of alka is no need to flash cracked boot.img for miui Roms. Is that right? And do I have to choose between read and write mode (for ota's)? As far as I have read, none of this is needed.
Is there anything i have to consider if I flash a new rom with alka?
Thanks!

Yes, alka does have that feature but I haven't tried. For safety you can flash modified boot.img first. You can make one with android kitchen or I can upload it to you, just tell which ROM.
After flashing TWRP mount system as read only as showed in this pic. You should get OTA updates. http://i.imgur.com/Q0rHzmg.jpg
If you decide later to flash CM, Mokee, AOKP or other custom ROM, make a full backup with alka and for safety copy to your PC too.

Hi waiting to unlock the bootloader on my rmn3 pro how would i go about flashing alka on to my phone? Would this allow me to make complete backups so if i flash a custom firmware i can totally revert to a MIUI backup for example?

Partitions
I'm coming from the RN3 where the official TWRP didn't handle partitions the same way as Cofface TWRP or ZCX TWRP (even those two handled them differently).
Point being, both claimed they handled them better than official TWRP and supported a few extra features like dm-verity and playing nice with MIUI. Upon backup I saw 30+ partitions being backed up.
However, in the forum, I see most action for RN4 being with stock TWRP - does this mean it now handles those partitions better than RN3 where I don't need those unofficial TWRP builds?

This is correct package if you have snapdragon variant & after flashing successfully by selecting clean all & lock there's no way you enter bootloop.
The package maybe corrupt.

Check your Redmi note 3 version. Then flash the correct Rom. If the problem is still not solved take it to MI service center again.
Note : There is always a risk of HARD BRICKING your phone. Please be carefull of what you flash.
