Glad to see Slim coming back to the scene. It was always a great project on hammerhead and mako back in the day. Can't wait to see what you have in store.

Yep. All due to Yank! Thanks Bro. Yet, Yank's YAOSP is my daily d on several devices. Flawless work on that ROM. Can't wait for Slim to equal.

I'm in... Such an awesome ROM. Thanks!

Apn is still janky for vzw. Alex from tipsy got the issue fixed for tipsy, but he has no idea what fixed it as he was doing multiple things at once.
Doesn't do anything to help the fact but it can be fixed somehow so is hope.

May not help, but I'm in a really low signal area myself. Mine jumps around on roaming a lot. I've never seen that before on any phone at my home plus I thought there wasn't any real "roaming" on Verizon.

As soon as the ROM boots up it shows LTE for a couple seconds then shows roaming.
You can go into networks settings and change preferred network to LTE and it will switch over to lte but then the APN gets borked and you can't send SMS.
I tried switching it to Verizon internet, which is the proper APN, go to send a text and it boots it back to the top listed APN which won't send texts. I tried to delete the additional apns but that ended up leaving no signal at all when I tried to manually add the proper one

Oh there really is a roaming, but this isn't making it roam, the idea of seeing it is cosmetic, but after testing it for a few days (different ROMs obviously) it seems like it does make the radio over work itself where it normally wouldn't.

I see, I figured the radio would overwork anyway in my area. For example, my Note 4 will constantly jump from 1x to 3g then to nothing, many times.
Kinda why the MM update for the Note 4 was awesome, because it allowed WiFi calling. I digress...
Doubt it will help but I'll provide a log if needed. I'll be happy to test anything too.

I have Alex a modem log when he was looking into it but it didn't come up with much I don't think. If yank wants one I can reflash and get one too.
It only seems to be an issue with vzw too, sprint also uses CDMA, but it doesn't seem to have the issue. That's why I'm thinking its linked to the APN slim six is using versus the CDMA type itself.
I'm sure yank will get it squared away, will more than likely just take a few builds, that is as long as he's willing / can look into it

Yep, I agree it can't be much. Also it's cosmetic from what I gathered, it doesn't consider the current network as "home" network, hence shows the roaming "R"...
Will be addressed, hope it's not much.

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I am glad to finally bring you the Evervolv series of ROM's. This is an alpha build, however most, if not all items should be working. I'm going to keep this post vague and update it when the rom becomes beta worthy.
This rom would not be possible without the CM team, so i give them props any time i can.

Everything should be working as of now (with the small except to the Brightness widget, it's functionality is there... but the UI updating is not just yet). The Nexus One i have has no sim card, so i can't test everything. However English is the main supported language, if google hasn't added the language support, i haven't either. This means certain apps will have no support at all (i.e. Evervolv Settings). If there is someone that would like to contribue the efforts to languages, we'd be more than happy to have you aboard.
Screenshots of the ROM in action can be seen Here - Screenshots

Q&A
Is this CM7?
No, this is a build that started from AOSP. However, some of the fixes and few features have been derived from the CyanogenMod Team, including the CM kernel.
How social is the evervolv team?
You can join us on IRC, irc.freenode.net #evervolv. Or follow myself and the status of Evervolv @preludedrew on twitter.

Why not. I haven't tried anything Gingerbread yet (been faithful to Rod's MIUI the last few months).
I'll download and check it out!

agree with this... this rom already support app2sd??
Liking so far. Its a breath of fresh air. Just something nice and new, really smooth and responsive.
It appears a2sd is not there? Maybe I'm wrong but under settings it said ext (unavailable).
Also, its a little eh that I can't change the dock settings (I know I can use LauncherPro and I probably will but I was trying to avoid that) because I use Chomp and DolphinHD so those dock shortcuts are useless.
Screen off animation is SWEET and boot animation is stellar.
Overall, seems very solid for a first release. I'll stick with it for now, assuming camera and camcorder work (I'm headed out to Sea World with the wife and son today/tomorrow so I need a functioning camera).
Great job and great release. I'll report back more Monday night when I get home and have used it for a few days.
Does this rom have the "wonk" problem? With nightly Rom I still have lots of problems

Great rom. I love the font and bootanimation. Wish the rom had a2sd.

OK, so after a few days use I'm noticing a few things.
Battery life seems to be average, nothing special. I hardly used it at all as I was on a small vacation (didn't make any phone calls, hardly text at all, didn't take pictures, surfed the web very very lightly) and my battery would very quickly drop to the 80's in % and beyond. Although, this could possibly be associated to my next thing.
When charging, light on top is green (fully charged) when it hits 90% battery. It does continue charging to 100% but I found that very odd that it turns green to indicate full when its at 90%...
As stated, the font is very nice too. Everything overall seems smooth, especially for a first release. I'd be nice to see new releases soon, of course with a change log etc.
Looking forward to see what is to come.

Here's a bit of info you may want on this project for how we do things differently:
CLICK HERE to find out more about the new team working on this project since our TeamEOS merger.
No features you don't need which slow the device down, or put your data at risk of being stolen. If you want to give it away, it should be your decision.
A fast and clean install with no UX decisions made for you. You make the ROM whatever you would like.
A team constantly exploring totally new feature sets and optimizations geared toward you, the user
We utilize a plethora of optimizations in a build system unlike any other:
Each build has a toolchain built for your device at the time of build. No more generic toolchain android builds.
Consistently updated upstream toolchain module source with our custom backports, fixes, and optimizations applied in a patch at build time.
Fully built utilizing Link Time Optimization (another custom ROM first). Feel free to google this one a bit to get an idea of the performance gain.
Many repositories have code fixes, cleanups, and many minor optimizations which are too generous to even speak of here.
Optimizations are toggled on and off based on device for the best experience we can acheive for your device without sacrificing any stability
Many Qcom optimizations and AOSP master (upstream) optimizations and fixes using device specifications to determine usage.
Fully built utilizing strict aliasing and isognu++11 mode.
Full "-O3" build. To those who don't know, this is the highest "optimization level" available in gcc that sets many other flags

Ohai guys! Just FYI, I have the T-Mobile variant and this project is my daily driver. I think you will come to find this build is sick fast and it's benchmarks will blow any other AOSP build clear out the water. Personally, I've never experienced speed like this. There's a lot of great stuff in the pipeline so stay tuned and stay updated.
If you come across any bugs, please let me know. Since the last couple builds, I can't find any. But if any issues, concerns, or requests pop up, post up.

Oh snaps, sup LiquidSolstice! Our project is based on AOSP Master branch, not release. There's been upside and downside to this stategy. We had to hunt down some bugs here and there, but afaik they all got squashed as of the last couple builds.

Honestly, I'm not sure. That's why we build them all. I know the tmo variant has different proprietary radio libs, likely for additional spectrum support. But I'd bet the UL and att builds are pretty much the same, except for device fingerprint.
Synergy, me, and a couple of other guys make up the core team. I'm having a blast with m7 man! I got some sick ideas in store to fully harness the power of this beast.

Nice to see another rom thanks for the work !
As soon as our IT guy get the backend right, I'll write an updater for easy updates. Couple things I think would be nice. Native xvid support and native dts audio. I have mx player pro with a custom libffmpeg that does all that but native is always good. Thoughts?

No problems here, what GAPPS did you flash? Might have something to do with the keyboard.
I've been on the same GApps (PA, 25 Dec) and keyboard (Swype) since December. Issue only started when I flashed the first official nightly for CM12 (previously was using the unofficial build by OP).

If I were a betting man I'd say a clean flash will do you well, as I rarely enter that menu so had to try it before I commented, but just did so and mine works fine as well. I just re entry had a kernel panic on the 1/9 build, but that's honestly the first one of those I've ever had while running these cm12 builds, so that's doing pretty well I'd say. I know other people saw them as they seem to have mellowed out a bit, so I really can't complain. Proximity bug is an annoyance still, but I'm finding myself getting used to that haha, so my only other issue is the occasional disconnect sounds mid call, and having to toggle speakerphone on and off to be able to hear the caller again. Outside of these two things off the top of my head, the general stability right now seems pretty solid.

I've had absolutely no problems with this either. When the CM 12.0 nightlies went official I did do a clean install of the first nightly and then dirty flashed each one after. Using the 12/25 stock Gapps package and Google keyboard.
Thanks all. Going to do a clean flash now. I will report back.

You have to reflash after any update and readjust the build.prop. but it's working quite nicely

It says you joined XDA in 2010. It's now 2015. By now you ought to know that IN GENERAL it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that OEM specific features will make it into AOSP based ROMs. If you want those features, you will more than likely need to stick with a stock based ROM.

Try disabling tap2wake and see if this continues to happen (testing a theory).
Having a continuous issue here. Whenever I call a person, it hangs up about 10 seconds into the call. Switching to speaker phone and back doesn't work.

Really? Why is it that CM incorporated Dot View case from functionality into their M8 builds? Why did they work on hover events when the S4 came out? Why did they build an FM radio app for phones that had this feature built in?

[UNOFFICIAL] AOSPA PA 5.1.1 Builds

As there doesn't seem to be a PA 5.1 Build thread and zero official builds around since the 02/02 I thought I would start up my old build machine and TRY to do daily builds of PA 5.1.1 for everyone.
IMPORTANT
I am not responsible if your phone blows up or turns into a gremlin after midnight.
If there are NO changes to gerrit there will be no updates to the OP
For anyone coming from 5.0.x to 5.1.x please refer to the thread below for bootloader etc.

Any issues do a FACTORY RESET and CLEAN INSTALL

thats not necessarily true. I had a few devices when the updates only came every other month. It really depends on the maintainers and the developers for said devices.

I'm referring to github not how often they push builds. For example, there has been very little activity since the middle of February. Building daily is going to result in the exact same rom 4 or 5 days a week.

If you took the time to read the OP I stated "If there are NO changes to gerrit I will update this thread accordingly."
This means if there are no changes I won't be doing any builds and will state this on the OP so people know.

PA is gonna die a slow death I think because most of the brain trust is gone to the other OS.. At least the other one will probably get the best features. They are getting ready to release the first version of there operating system on the one plus and all this is really is a mildly improved version of aosp without any paranoid features. Kind of sad for all their rabid PA or die followers. Finaly get a phone that runs PA and development grinds to a halt.

says who? you? they have already answered this, the 6 members going to ONE+ is no different than them having jobs in the US while working with PA. Stop spreading this fud people, PA is not going away. The team has been getting hounded left and right and is really discouraged because people are so upset a rom isn't being pushed out daily/weekly/whatever they want. Development is continuous, look at their gerrit and youll see daily they are working on stuff but everyone is busy with life. Pirate just started a new job. Andre goes to school and has a life, you guys just need to relax a little. Ill repeat this again for the special kids on this forum, no one has left PA, again NO ONE HAS LEFT PA.

you are very wrong, look at gerrit there are changes made DAILY and if they aren't made daily its every few. You are looking at github wrong if you are seeing changes only from middle of feb. If you are going to try and jump down someones throat at least understand what you are looking at.

First off, the conversation was over. Stop trying to be the internet white knight. I didn't jump down anybody's throat.
2nd off, there have been 19 commits merged since Feb 19th and almost all have been theme related cherry picks from CM. If you're going to attempt to call someone out you should probably make sure that person is wrong.
Sorry OP, I will not be responding to the XDA kiddies in your thread anymore. I wish you luck with your rom.

19 commits shows development is still going, whether its 1 or 2, its still work being done. You said they only seem to update things once a week, which is again wrong if you look at their gerrit. You guys make it seem like they are doing nothing and not updating. Hopefully all these children move to different roms so we can enjoy PA

V30 Rom Testing - Which do you believe is currently the best PIE Rom?

From your testing and experience which V30 AOSP Pie Rom is the best at the moment.
We all have our own opinions, what is yours?
If no listed please list it as a reply.
Also, as always, if you have feedback on why you picked a rom, or why you didnt pick a rom (missing features, something not working) let us know with a reply.

Interesting. Since when? afaik all of Markus's roms work fine with dac. including all his pie roms
Poll has evened up with Pixel Experience and Havoc OS getting 3 votes each as well as Lineage just behind with 2 votes.
Anyone have any likes/dislikes they want to share about the rom they are using?
Also really interested in ROMs on this phone. Just ordered a V30+ so haven't tried any yet, or even the stock experience. Haven't used any Android version past 7.1.2 yet. I really want a ROM that allows me to modify the power button functions to show a "reboot" and "reboot to recovery" along with "power off", removing all other options from the boot menu accessed via power button. Also saw the Google Now bar which was, for a while, known as a pain to remove on the Nexus 5 (or was that Android in general?). Hoping it's possible to remove that bar entirely.

Open source is open source. No one -- even ROM group -- has any control over "unofficial" builds somebody wants to make. They're unofficial.
Unofficial is actually better in many instances, because the device maintainer can make whatever changes they wish, and are not restricted by ROM group rules.
@SGCMarkus? I thought you locked the DU thread only until the group released PIE?

The DU guys dont want any releases on XDA, at all. There has been some dramain the past... lets say it that way.
And yes, they have a say in unofficial builds too. But im gonna respect their wishes anyway. The builds are in the V30 Telegram group, or in the V30 Discord server (the later is still WIP).
Unfortunately, the T-Mobile V30 is always the odd one out with these ROMs. So the only one I have been able to use is Lineage 16. But other than the dim Always On Display, I haven't had any issues with it and it works great. I don't feel the need to go back to Oreo now.

Hey, six of one half a dozen of the other. Weird though, since I thought XDA was pretty much the biggest forum for Android development.
Stock apps?
I'm very aware of the fact that AOSP loses features from stock. But audio recording thought the headphone jack sucks now! The default recorder was amazing, and every app I try blows out the mic... I've tried all of them even Field Recorder.
I'm aware my use case is very specific. I use a lavalier mic to record interviews and conversations for videos. Honestly every other app, other than the stock LG one has no dynamic range and turning down gain in settings does nothing.
I'm open to suggestions, it's just a huge bummer that my last 5 projects all suffer from a blown out mic.

Stuff like this is why I'm still on ROOTED stock firmware. I can flash/install mods to give me custom features.
The only thing that really bugs me right now I've not been able to change easily is the status bar icons --- and maybe I just haven't looked hard enough.
If the polling weren't already completed, I would have voted for a third option. It would be either stock or none. I have flirted with all of the pie roms, and they each suffer from similar and fatal flaws like the one you give. Others to add are a functional camera app, propper playback volume, need for se enforcing, and correct set up for mms on Verizon to name a few. I hope this isn't interpreted that the efforts of the devs are not valued. The dev's have made amazing progress in six months or so since wtf was announced. I patiently look forward to the day the scale tips in favor of an aosp rom like what happend with RR om the quark.

Right. The devs are amazing.
@SGCMarkus singlehandedly brought the V30 a half dozen AOSP/Lineage custom ROMs.
It's just for me personally, I've made the decision to stay on stock rooted firmware for now.
As you know, on the Moto Quark I was a BIG proponent of first CM (which is now Lineage) and RR ROMs.

I know this is random considering but Matt have you tried theming status bar icons with substratum? Seems to work on stock for myself.
