Unfortunately it is as you can see from the file name.

yes its but you know its heavly moded even the kernel is not open source haha indeed they wambling about update but its oudated but i like it its not just CM with its gravity box its outof the box
see the patch note for more

It's prettier, few new options and better battery life than MIUI 7. My first impressions

I flash this rom in my redmi note 3 pro and I install gapps and rooted the phone with supersu, putting the gapps and supersu Zips in the microsd and follow the method to entry in twrp to install the Zips without lose the original recovery (the system of the forum given't permissions to me to put external links) .

Well, you flashed the ROM which is not for your phone. It's redmi 3 forum, not redmi note 3

Hi, I flashed the correct rom for my device, but the method is valid for all devices with miui 5-8, with official unlocked bootloader, and original recovery, sorry for the confusion xD.

hi, can anybody confirm BL relocking happens?
Can I unlock with this ROM?

There is also much better Miui 8 for redmi 3 by xiaomi.eu (6.6.16/17 - Miui 8)

I'm having installed it now and there's problem with Google Cloud Messaging (no push notifications at all which is pretty bad).
If anybody can resolve it that would be great.

Mine got locked, I must have done something wrong. Tried to flash with TWRP and got boot loop, managed to do fastboot and it worked.

What process did you go through? I'm interested in MIUI8/root/GAPPS.
As for MIUI8 it seems that the only available version is the China Dev one. It comes bundled with a ton of useless chinese apps, no root, no gapps.

Mine hv previous china dev rom installed (miui7 6.5.26) before, and i was download miui8 from official site and flash it manually via updater (choose update package). No data loss or relocked BL after (even all my games still there)
Gapps using google apps installer.apk frm mi market.
Root: just tap root permission in security apk and it will download (i assume its miui root file or something) and device will rebooting by it self after. Done.
Ps: i have no superSU installed.

Thanks for the answer. What I did, is flash it from the TWRP. I must have missed that I can go from 7 to 8 from within the OS. Now I'm back to 6.5.2.6 so it's good to know. I'll update soon.

Help! Officially Unlocked Bootloader. Whats next?

I have a few questions.
1. Do I need to root the phone separately using super su? Or just flashing twrp will do the job?
2. Do I need different super su zip files for different roms ? Or any super su file will work?
3. Whats the best stable rom right now? [ Miui or any custom ]
Have you unlocked officially or unofficially? How many days it took you to unlock officially after receiving the sms from Xiaomi? I got my request approved since 13th July, yet unable to unlock bootloader as it stucks on 50% and gives account different error all the time. Have you changed your ROM to get it unlocked? Thanks in advance for your help.

It is better to unlock via official method it will take time but will be good. it usually take a week or more to unlock after reciving permission msg. the errors are irrelevant to problem. try after few days good luck

After officially unlocked the bootloader, you can used this to flash twrp: http://en.miui.com/thread-296053-1-1.html, used twrp to flash superSU2.65.zip for rooting. I personally preferred alka twrp for flashing official rom with ease. All the while on xmiui 8, When I flashed the rom, always flashed superSU.zip and xposed x86 by solarwarex in one single flashing without failed. But because of Pokemon go game and now both my redmi 2 enhanced(cn dev rom) and redmi note 3 pro (global dev rom)were not rooted. But my redmi note 2 prime was rooted and xposed installed on latest global dev rom.

This guide explains how to flash stock MIUI roms. You have a few options for root. You could flash a global or China beta/dev ROM which have an in built root which can be enabled. You could unlock your bootloader and install TWRP then install superSU. Or you could just try an app like KingRoot if you trust it enough.

I've done it with the China dev/beta rom and that is what's recommended. It may be possible on the new global dev but I'm not sure and so can only recommend the China dev/beta. Once unlocked you'll stay unlocked so you can flash whatever you want straight away after. Just make sure to backup/sync any data first as everything will get wiped when using the SP flash tool.

It was a simple and normal question. I don't bully you or anyone else here. It's better if i ask you before you brick your phone or something. But anyway, it's your phone and your choice.
Global dev rom works, I unlocked mine early this week. You will need to fill in the form for permission from Xiaomi hxxp://en.miui.com/unlock and wait for an activation code for your Mi account before you start. You'll also need that account on your phone. It absolutely will not work on Global Stable, trust me, I tried!
The Global Dev rom doesn't have root enabled, so you'll also have to install TWRP (from cofface) there is a good guide in this forum somewhere, then flash SuperSu from there. (the official version works just fine)

Thanks for confirming, I unlocked using the china dev rom and enabled the built-in root. I could then use flashfire to install cofface's TWRP recovery and did a wipe in TWRP to start afresh without root.

No reason why it should not work on 8.1.3.0. Just look for the bootloader check in developer settings. If it's there and you can link your account you should be good to go. Always worth a try...
Latest Supersu is always available on Chainfire's website download.chainfire.eu. Flash via TWRP. It's not specific to A ROM or device.

Root redmi note 4 without pc

Hi friends ,
I need some help to root my Redmi Note 4.
I have no pc , so the needed rooting method is without pc.
I tried with Kingroot , but they didnt start to support on this device yet.
My Redmi Note 4 is 3GB/32GB version running on android 7.0 and MIUI Global 8.5 Stable. I dont want to flash a custom rom or recovery to this. I need only root permission for run some apps.
If anybody knows working rooting methods like kingroot , please help me.
As far I know, there is no way you can root without pc, there is no bug to exploit for simply root click apps. Especially with locked bootloader device.

Yeah, just request permission for unlock bootloader from your device. Bound your mi account, wait for 7-10 days.
After that just borrow one of your friends pc. Download and install mi unlock.
Unlock your bootloader, install twrp, flash lazy flasher, flash magisk or supersu.
And, you are golden.

Instead of that, just unlock bootloader, flash a custom recovery and root your phone. If you don't like it, then you can easily switch to stock miui anytime.

So I tried this and it worked, changed Chinese rom to Global Rom, without having to do copy all the code like in the other convert thread.
I moved from UI3 chinese rom to UI2 global, then just had to certify the device to get access to google play!
can one please make a video orpictures about it?!?!?!?
i don't get into that TWRP

Which magisk you are using alpha or stable?

I've tried both versions. but I don't quite understand how it all works... (Sorry google translater)
I used magisk alpha through twrp.
I can't do a video sorry, all I wanted to do was let everyone know that it works and seems to be a lot easier(for me anyway) than the other way of trying to get a global ROM working.
I think I'm too stupid for that
can write me a step-by-step guide ?
its literally a step by step guide in the first post.
you'll need the files from the links provided!
unfortunately it doesn't work for me, no idea what I'm doing wrong
Bootloader unlock isn't required?
My bootloader was unlocked, yes

Hi, I just have a few questions
1. You used the EU Rom from this thread right? And if so are you receiving OTA updates? According to a different thread on this topic, people are having to use the IN Rom in order to still receive OTA Updates.
2. Are apps like Google Pay working, and other functions of the phone like NFC and 5G working?
1. I used the EU ROM, which is .a09 I was on the ui3 Chinese ROM.
After flashing the ROM I have done an ota update and am now on a.17
2. I'm not sure about Google play as I've rooted the phone and this version of magisk doesn't have hide, so doesn't work
Everything else that wasn't working on Chinese ROM ui3 is working.
Vowifi, volte, NFC, Android auto 5g(no switching problem) all now work
I was considering getting a new phone before this, as so many features were annoying me or missing on the Chinese ROM.

Hopefully, my final question,
I can't seem to find a way to unlock my bootloader on ui3, may I ask how you unlocked your bootloader?
The only solution I can find at the moment is to downgrade to android 11 ui2 CN Rom .A24 and then unlock the bootloader through that way since the deep testing app for unlocking the bootloader will not install on ui3 for me.
Thanks in advance!
(ps. I don't have the app already installed, I have checked 5 times already.)
You might need to downgrade back to UI 2 as I unlocked my bootloader using deep test before updating to UI3. (Yeah I looked at that after I had gone to UI3 and it said it was already installed, but couldn't find it or search for it either)
Hi again, what am I ment to do from here? This is after doing the fourth step. @unparalleled82

Depends if you want to root it or not. If not then just reboot and should be on the version you've installed

Well, something has gone wrong. when rebooting it only seems to go to the realme UI recovery I didn't want root so I could use Google Pay. I am not sure what do do now. Should I wipe data, and try to redo the whole thing? (edit: if you are a newcomer and see this message, be sure to look at page 2 (spoiler: it worked!))
