Marshmallow rumours - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 General

Did anybody notice the official user manual on the Samsung website for the Galaxy A310F includes the word "Marshmallow" in the title? Funny the phone only comes loaded with Lollipop. Did they make a last minute decision to postpone release of Marshmallow for the device seeing as they still haven't upgraded some of their "flagship" phones?
As I'm a new user in this forum I unfortunately am not allowed to include the link to the manual in question but I'll try to obfuscate it to circumvent the restriction:

Nice!

So it seems Samsung will release Android M only on 2016 A series....

No, now there are marshmallow manuals for a300fu/a500fu (Galaxy A3/A5 2015 with 1.5 GB RAM) too.

Yeah, sure, especially before Nexus phones
First Google nexuses get marshmallow update and usually after 3/4 weeks later other brand's flagships get update

How long does it usually take until Miui upgrades to the latest Android version?
Miui 7 with 5.0 came out in August, that is almost a year later.

When the Android version is official, builders normally have 90 days to implement it but this is often not the case

This is obviously a fake. Why are you posting this?
Let's hope we get the Marshmallow update before Redmi note 3 releases.
I wonder if Xiaomi stopped development on the Redmi note when the Redmi note 2 was launched.
I won't get any hope from Xioami. Even now, a lot of bugs in current version haven't been fixed.

Exactly. For example screen brightnes. I opened thread to miui bug section. But nobody cares or stupid MTK's lux sensor sucks and they cant fix it -_-
I read that xiaomi confirm marshmallow for RN2
But i found no date
I hope cyanogenmod make a Rom earlier
*a developer make a rom earlier
Cyanogenmod don't make anything, only developer do it and, if they want, they become a cm official maintainer

Galaxy On5 2015 Marshmallow COMING SOON !!

The Korean models already run the Android 6.0 version, as per documents at Wi-Fi certification agency.

So, it shouldn't far. After all, the original Galaxy S7 Marshmallow is our too.
For better links of firmware, keep an eye on this firmware page.
You posted at the wrong section? This is for the A series.
oh you mean A5!?? yesssss!!!!!

Current T-mobile firmware?

What version firmware are you all running on the S9+ T-Mobile version? I'm still on the Feb security patch and phone shows no updates available. Just making sure I'm not missing anything here.

No it's not updating my phone either, it just shows no update for me too. And I haven't disabled anything. So I don't know what's up with that
Same here
Wondering if they pulled the update
Running the same ARBG build here, too.

Same here. New s9 plus just bought yesterday. I just checked no updates available. Wonder if they pulled it.
Hopefully the removal of the update has something to do with the v2 bootloader. When you update to ARC6, you can't go backwards from that point, or at least currently. The v1 bootloader in ARBG is a lot more flashing friendly.

Unfortunately, this doesn't matter in my case as I have the Snapdragon variant. Jailbreaking Apple devices is easier than dealing with Samsung's BS these days; however, I couldn't give up the ability to expand storage with an SD card.
I've been hearing a lot of people complaining about dropped calls on the ARC6 update. I never experienced it myself while on ARC6 but I'm on ARDA now.

Mine is a SnapDragon model also. Although based on older information and models. I am hoping we get a V3 bootloader for those who are stuck on v3 that can be upgrade and then downgraded. The Note 8 bootloader is possible to flash backwards for some reason. Because we are on the 845 though, it will probably take a little time for someone to figure out who to get it to successfully flash backward. The call dropping issue on some firmware versions also is a problem that doesn't exist on other firmware variants. I had the call dropping on 1ARC6 but not on 1ARBG. That might have slipped into the firmware with the v2 bootloader. Whatever the reason, the Samsung community has a lot of development and cross-flashing activity that will hopefully get this figured out soon.
I came from a V30, which is much more of a mess to even attempt to flash anything other than what the current firmware is could potentially leave you hard bricked. Outside of Nexus and Pixel devices, I find Samsung in its current state more cross-flashing and mod friendly than some other manufactures. I have never used an Apple device to know how easy or difficult they are to jailbreak or what that means in comparison to what we do with modded, bootloader unlocked, and cross-flashing devices on the Android side. The locked down Apple ecosystem will always keep me away from their platform.

A series won't recieve any updates further.
Samsung already promised 2 major updates. One being nougut and last one being oreo.
So yeah.. No official updates.
Maybe lineage OS would be available but I won't count on it either.. Especially when LOS 15.1 is still unfinished.
But we never know.. Maybe some talented developer would build it and will maintain it till it gets stable

To be honest as a8 2018 have exynos 7885 and a5/a7 have exynos7880 and that corsi yet ported a8 rom to them it might be possible to port pie on it, otherwise for a3, a6 2018 must get pie and it have exynos7870 as well,
Otherwise lineage gonna do the trick, just keep patience and see !
i just checked and there are actually quite a few of 7870 devices
It should be possible to port roms from devices having similar architecture but they require a lineage OS base (correct me if I'm wrong).
Long back in my LG days, I ported a miui rom successfully but it needed CM 11 base.
Maybe the developers would consider working on it. I'm still waiting for LOS 15.1 to get stable enough (too much battery drain).
Yeah, A5 is spotted in geekbench with Android Pie. That mean it will roll out to it. But nothing about A7. It MUST be.

We have already received two OS upgrades already so I doubt we will.
I doubt it, since many A series released in 2018. Ax 2017 is obsolete now. The only hope is unofficial ROMs lol.
It is confirmed that the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 2017 will receive the Android Pie 9.0 update.
I'm attaching a screenshot of the news with some of the eligible models. You can read the news on the Samsung Members app.

At least for A3 2017 which yet got 2 major update for every variant. Usually Samsung used to make 2 updates on A series, hence don't expect too much on Samsung OTA as Samsung yet lied many times about update that never came..

That was from their official Members app, that's why I said it's confirmed, but I see your point. Can you tell me which devices has Samsung said they would update and then canceled them? It's a genuine question of mine since I haven't read anything similar.

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][7.1] LineageOS 14.1 for Vibe K5/K5+ with SIM management

Hi everyone,
This ROM with SIM management is not as "clean" as on LineageOS 15.1 where some improvements have been made in the core of Android, for example to properly manage the plane mode, but here is a build with the same functionality and the january security patch
New update :
- with january security patch
Link : https://edifixiotest-my.sharepoint....FBhzAIQkwHLDQBfm6uv2tmpuq3VJaIk0JXYQ?e=AAdyoh
Don't hesitate to give feedback.
Known bug : the notification light color for battery charge is not properly taken in accout, I have to check that...
Hi everyone, are you still interested in this Nougat ROM or should I stay on Lineage 15.1 Oreo ?
Please like this post if you want me to maintain it with security patches.

If you want to try to build yourself, I'll recommend to start here : https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/A6020/build
I would also advise you to be on the Telegram groups of Vibe K5/K5+ where you can find ressources and some help.

There must be a way, but right now I don't know and I don't have much time...
Hi all, for your information there is another bug in this ROM, I think it's kernel related, I'll try to have some help on this subject but it's quite specific : when you don't have much battery, the GPS is activated and the screen is unlocked, if you plug in the charger, the phone switches off.
I've managed to reproduce the bug this way, can some of you confirm that ?

This happens in the 15.1 version of yours too. In fact, it happened even before you started building roms. I had my phone soft bricked once because of that.

Thanks, I started to think I was the only one... Any lead on the why ? I didn't find any log to help me with that and thought it may be related to the cable I use (not the one bought with the phone)

Hi everyone, and sorry for the Nougat lovers, I've forgot a little to share my builds
Here is a build with January patch : https://edifixiotest-my.sharepoint....FBhzAIQkwHLDQBfm6uv2tmpuq3VJaIk0JXYQ?e=AAdyoh
I'll keep you posted if a february patch is available.
For your information, I think I will no longer build this ROM as I only do security updates, and I found out that the last "real" security patch is the r61 from october 2019.
https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest/+/refs/heads/android-7.1.1_r61
The only thing happening when I update this ROM is the display in "About phone"
