Boost mobile stock recovery odin flashable tar - Samsung Galaxy J7 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Oth

If you want it thats fine if you dont want thats fine too. Theres the stock rom with stock recovery in it if you feel more comfortable flashing it instead of this. Ive tested it and it flashes and boots into recovery. All i did was use unified toolkit to take the img and convert it into a odin flashable tar. So theres no roms or anything so this will probably die of old age and a newer system update will probably come out before this is ever used but here it is for boost mobile j7 only. No hard feelings if you dont want it.
Only for this version

Hi, I don't understand. It's a stock rom for flash with odin?

If you dont want to use mine or a problem with anything feel free to make your own with the basic toolkit within this toolkit. More power to you.... like i said no hard feelings about anything..
Extract the toolkit run it then take the recovery img put it in the input folder of the toolkits files then run the toolkit go in to the toolkit select basic toolkit then press made odin flashable tar then make single image out of each image select recovery image it will do its thing then its done.. then go into output folder of the toolkit grab your odin flashable tar and there you go. You can do the extraction of the tar with the app im about to get all on youre phone..

Who ever said a disabled person couldn't do anything is wrong.. im a disabled schizophrenic and im doing pretty good. Android is my passion and keeps my mind off everything.. even if its a toolkit i used to do it i still did it.. people put up theses high walls and i always seem to jump over them and im glad i can atleast do something useful even if some people have no use for it..

There is a system update.. says security has been updated and android security level patch updated to june 1st and other things.. its a over the air update so be sure to check settings, system update for it..

Hey thanks for this, I ruined my phone using a wrong root method and I was frantically looking for a stock recovery. You saved my phone

I should've looked before I made the same thing. My apologies sir.

Link is down anyone have a mirror a copy of the same thing? Seems like something to have around.

So i have a stock sprint note 3 that had 4.4.4 on it.
I attempted to install twrp/cwm through odin, but it failed and now i'm stuck in the failed firmware update loop.
I have tried installing older versions of the stock firmware, seems like i'm stuck looking for a 4.4.4 which seems kinda hard to find right now.
What are my other options, my friend is looking for the serial numbers to see if i can just use keis to recover.

Although your thread will probably be moved to the Q&A section, you stated you are able to install older versions...... take it back into DL mode and Odin 4.4.4. There are several threads you can download the NK4 Firmware from including the Sammobile site.

Honestly it sounds like you're making this more difficult than it really is.
All you need is;
NK4 .tar
SU
&
TWRP
So i'm fairly new to this the last phone i did was my vz s4 (and it went off with less bumps).
I'm stuck in the boot load loop. I can't flash any ROM on it right now, i think i'm trying to find the right 4.4.4 rom. Any place with good rom support would help. sammobile is far too slow on downloads...also there are a few 4.4.4 roms by now.
So the phone was purchased in early Nov 2014, already on a 4.4.4.
I dl'd odin and a TWRP, foolishly didn't make sure 4.4.4 could be flashed in the same way. Odin marked it as failed and when i re-start the phone it runs into the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again"
The phone can get into download mode just fine (cannot boot)...tho i have no idea what to flash onto it now.

As Nickitt stated, don't make it more than it is. If you can get into DL mode then you are not fully bricked which is good. You need to flash an " Official 4.4.4 Firmware " to get you out of this situation, whether it be a slow download or not. I provided a link in my original first response of several uploads of 4.4.4 that you could possibly use that were uploaded by member shadowcliffs in his same thread/post. After you have flashed the official firmware and gone through the initial setup once again with the stock firmware, get the phone back into DL Mode and flash TWRP or Philz CWM recovery via ODIN. Once you have your custom recovery loaded, flash the Custom Rom of your choice.
Hey dark,
thanks for the quick and very very useful response. i wish i hit this up way sooner i did find those links after hours of searching through garbage. i've been downloading a few 4.4.4 images for the last 2hours. Hopefully this will help me! sadly those are the same slow connections i've scene. damn 50kb/sec so sad haha
I'll keep the board posted. but mostly bump that og thread
Damn, fails on the nk4 image and the nh7.
fails on the same spot system.img.ext4
any other suggestions board? please?
make sure your using the hltespr version of either TWRP or philz recovery, if its not working on TWRP switch to philiz. Could also be a bad download - re-download and flash again
Why don't you just use TWRP Manager to install TWRP after you root?

Parallels is a better option imo as far as v-machines are concerned but anything after Mountain lion doesn't work well. The newest mac osx doesn't work at all with Heimdall. It won't download the pit file. If your running mavricks you can try using a program called winebottle
How to Run Odin On Mac: http://youtu.be/j7fpouzMSsk also jOdin is another desktop tool to use. jOdin is a early stage online flashing tool with limited capabilities at this time.Beings its a online flashing tool. I would make sure to have a good internet connection or you could run into trouble im guessing. All in all I think its a good idea I just hope this project keeps going.

Flashable nc5 or higher from mj4 running rooted twrp

trying to find a flashable nc5 file or higher while currently running on the old rooted mj4 with twrp. Trying to preserve my data that way I don't do to do a full reset. If anyone has a file that'll flash via zip from the twrp recovery, i'd greatly appreciate it. That and I don't really know what the proper steps are to do a proper update. Lots of info here, though it's usually starting off with something else and I'm confused.

Woohoo! Hoping it is. Thank you Jim! I've been trying to find something newer as well in case it's btr.

Basically they would both work but you lose all your data. Anytime you Odin flash a stock OS (rom) it takes you back to bone stock and removes all your data ( i.e. pics, music, apps, and texts ect. . . ) like when you just bought the phone.
So what we are trying to do is find a flashable stock version or as close to stock as possible that can be flashed through your custom recovery where you can choose what to wipe and what to save. In this case your NOT going to wipe data, just wipe cache, dalvik-cache, and system do a dirty flash and try to save your personal data.
Let me see if I can find a copy of NH7.
OK checked out NC5 from Rwilco12 took an hour to download and it was not a useable version, will keep looking.
I am not able to find anything, your best bet at this point is to make a choice to stay where you are rooted mj4 or upgrade by going back to stock.
If you upgrade, to save your data connect the device to your PC. Copy and paste the DCIM, download, music, and video files to the desktop of your PC. Write down your apps on some paper, you will find you need a different version of your apps to run on the upgraded OS anyway so you will have to get them from the play store. Then go to my rom flashing basics and follow the instructions and get the link to Sammobile. This way you can download the version of the OS to your desktop you want Sammobile has them all. Make sure when you Odin flash the OS, you need to give it time to boot up !
It takes 3-5 min to boot the first time and ( sometimes it doesn't boot up DON'T PANIC ) this is normal. If it is caught in a boot loop just pull the battery, reinstall battery boot into download mode and Odin flash the OS again. It will boot the second time. Even if it boots the first time stop, boot into download mode and Odin flash the OS again.
You should always Odin flash a stock OS (rom) TWICE so you get a good clean install. Then install the right version of TWRP for the stock OS you have installed, then root and install your personal data back in the device ( connect device to PC and copy and paste data back in internal storage ).

Looking at your thread of "basics", it says twrp won't work. is that still current, or does it work now?
My understanding is if I want to go to the lastest OS (NC5 or NH7), download it, flash it, then flash it again and pretty much be done? Curious do I still get the hotspot mod back? (as I currently have it with rooted mj4)
gotta go back and find either of those two versions as rooted...
Can you check on your phone if you can download and install Hexo+ from the googleplay store? That's where I'm getting at. If it works under your 4.4.2 nc5 then maybe I don't need to go any higher unless I experience issues, then I'll upgrade again.
Thanks.

Ok TWRP or Philz CWM will work for both NC5 or NH7 just make sure you have the right version i.e. (the version for mj4 you have now, will not work for NH7). What mod are you using to run the Hotspot? I'm sure you can get the hotspot working with the same mod on both NC5 and NH7 just a newer version once you get the new OS rooted.
I'm running 4.4.4 NK4 I downloaded Hexo+ and it opened no problem.

awesome good to know.
.... geez, sadly I can't remember how or what I used for the mod. brain cells way too invested in other things that I can't remember. hahahaha damn it. oh fml...
In regards to the right version, I need the .zip file, not the img or img.tar, correct?
You said your os was running smooth and no issues, same with battery consumption (nk4)?
got the NK4 file downloaded, but I'm confused as I didn't find the rooted version on your page. I read "rooting the phone" section under towelroot, am I correct in that the towelroot apk will root the stock NK4 file I've just downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2522638?
This was how I did the hotspot mod... Will this get wiped out? I'm assuming yes.

[SM-G360P] [ODIN] Official Samsung Firmware G360PVPU2APJ2

Hey guys I was able to take the time slooooowly download Stock firmware for our Prevail. Practically no support to this phone at all, but I've been working to change that as best I can. I am learning the ropes of ROM building and I have been able to make use of ASSSAYED Kitchen v.110 (Now upgraded to v1.20).
For those of you who don't know:
Odin tutorial
**DO AN ADVANCED WIPE IN TWRP BEFORE FLASHING. EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE EXTERNAL SD CARD**
Download Samsung USB Drivers (Go to this xda thread here).
Download Odin (Get it here) Extract to Desktop (Or wherever)
Download firmware to desktop (It's in .zip format and you can find it here). Extract .zip file to odin folder (again, or wherever). Extraction should yield G360PVPU2APJ2_G360PSPT2APJ2_G360PVPU2APJ2_HOME.tar
Right click Odin 3.10.6 and click on "run as administrator".
Click on AP and find the extracted ROM. Open it and it will take a minute to load in to Odin...Now make sure the 'Auto Reboot and F. reset time options are ticked and nothing else.
Make sure to be using a quality USB cord. Odin will recognize your phone being plugged in. It will say COM port number in the top left hand corner and added or removed will be in the log window. Once you are ready begin the flash press start.
Relax, It will take about 10 minutes to do it's thing. After the long agonizing initial boot process, you will be back to stock firmware PJ2 for SM-G360P
Hope it helps! So far there is no lollipop for our phone. Click here to check out all my uploads for this device. So far I have a TWRP port that actually works. (Must flash through Odin) an a Stock rooted deodexed busyboxed zipaligned rom of this firmware (Thanks to ASSAYYED Kitchen).
OLDER VERSIONS
OH1 Firmware
I flashed this back to my device in attempt to go stock but system status is still set to Custom just so everyone is aware. Not sure if it could be an error on my part.
just wanted to say thanks i have 2 of these phones 1 use for mp3 player/ play phone and the other my daughter has to use. ive tried a ton of twrps for this and everyone broke recovery. im dl ing the twrp and the rom you posted. ya there is no development on this phone at all. ive tried almost every rom i could to get it to lollipop with no luck. im going to try to get the theme store and the launcher swapped out with an updated version.. n5 s7 any is fine i just want to get it updated lol. ill play with it tonight and let you know how it goes. i appreciate the effort your putting in to this. i dont even have service to them i have a stubborn s7 that refuses to get rooted. i had no prob with the note7 but idk if i have some updated version of s7 but i cannot obtain full root. i need to have my audio mods at least. i have a good one with beats, dolby atomos and viper im going to try on the 360 as well. let me know if you would like the file. after i check if it works on this on that is.
Please stay tuned. Upgrading this thread to the most recent PJ2 firmware.
Thread updated to PJ2 firmware. I can confirm this will make your device status 'Official'.
Thank you!
I just wanted to say:
Thank you so much mate! An amazing job here, I had a broken rom on this device, and thanks to your PJ2 build; I now have a fully working device again!
Fixed the play store, play services, and all the ads and junk on this Textfree branded device (PE2 firmware confirmed). keep up the great work!
Thanks for posting this! I see your other files, would you mind going in more detail how to install the stock rooted deodexed version of this rom? How do you recommend unlocking the bootloader to install TWRP or can we just simply flash it with ODIN then install the stock rooted rom? Thanks!
EDIT: according to this forum looks like you just flash it. Do you recommend your 2.87 over the 3.02?

Awesome, thanks for keeping support alive for this phone!
I'd really like a custom rom for this phone i have to restart at least once a day or this ROM becomes unusably slow.. I mean atleast CM11
Hello. I'm Dave. I just got this phone (G360P Prevail LTE) and I'm pretty excited about it because it could sure use some stuff and I'm new to development and ROM porting. My goal is to bring great ROMs to the lower end phones that are sometimes forgotten in development. Right now I only have one good port under my belt, but it's a great one...PAC 5.1.1 for the ZTE Zmax Z970. Unfortunately, I used device and kernel trees that were already put together by another developer, so I'm not completely sure how to get started on putting trees together for this one. At least it's a Samsung, so mistakes will not be deadly, hopefully lol. There's a lot I don't know and this will be a hell of a learning experience. If anyone could fill me in on which devices that have some development going are most similar to this one, it would be a big help. I flashed the TWRP for the G360T1 before I found @adrwill2000's stuff since it has the same processor and specs and I'm sure you all know how that worked out...I guess I'll start by grabbing stuff for the device that our TWRP was ported from, unless you guys have any better suggestions. It would be best to start with trees from a very similar device. I almost hate to post this because it's very possible I will get nowhere, but I could sure use input from you guys that know this device well as to what my best starting point might be. Thank you.
I'm back to running H1 for now because it seems to be our latest that xposed is working on and imo this KitKat stuff sure needs some Gravitybox. Also, on mine, in J2, when I hit reboot it would reboot recovery. I was gonna fix it, but it's working in H1.
Scratch that...I found the Xposed updated for new 4.4s, so I'm on the deodexed, zipaligned j2 now. Thanks for all you've done with this, @adrwill2000...
It worked for me. My phone was bricked and I could not even get it to hard reset. Thank you!

Odin ROM of PL1 update

This is the Odin ROM for the PL1 update. Requires the the use of Odin, computer, and USB cable to use. This is the stock ROM pulled from Samsung Kies3. I've flashed it inside Odin, and it upgraded my device without wiping contents, but I cannot promise the same result for everyone.
To (re)root, follow this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/general/how-to-root-note-3-lollipop-t3089382/page2
The file:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2iEgzRTFjrQdlhNSlg5bkE4WVE/view?usp=drivesdk
So what does the PL1 update get you? Does it improve the radio modem operations? Is it just so it will work with Nougat?
It's a security update, that's all. Note 3 is done with OS upgrades. 5.0 will be the last official
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
Hya there..
I have been following all your posts about flashing the PL1 update through either Odin or TWRP. I am familiar with both, but wanted to ask for insight on my particular setup.
Model SM 900P (Sprint)
Im still on 4.4.2 Kitkat Killer and has been doing well but looking to upgrade if I can find a good ROM.
I am still on baseband version NC5
Kernel 3.4.0 BeastMode
I figure I would be smart to flash the Baseband and Modem to the PL1 but would of course like to keep root and keep my TWRP recovery.
Ultimately I would like to flash the DarkLord ROM or even Resurrection Remix ROM for the Note 3 on CDMA (Sprint)
This is my daily driver, and cannot afford to frag my phone so I want to be sure I make the best choices.
If I follow your posts I would do best to downlowad your TWRP Stock Pre Root zip file, and simply "recover' the file as if I was doing any normal TWRP recovery. This would then put me back to Stock Lollipop and upgrade my Modem and Baseband and get me the latest security updates (well fairly recent anyways).
In lieu of that, I can ODIN the PL1 file offered by you and this would in effect 'factory reset' my phone as if I just bought it from Sprint (well you know what I mean) and would re install all my apps etc (through Titanium Backup etc).
From there I can try Resurrection or DarkLord Mod's and load them like any ROM install?
Thanks for double checking my train of thought...
Dave
Thanks! This helped me out.
@Unidave199 -
Use ODIN to push Greaper88's PL1 file to your phone. (now you are updated.) (I just used it, it works.)
Use ODIN to push a recovery to your phone like TWRP
Find yourself a ROM you like (Darklord's is good.)
Flash ROM via TWRP (Read the ROM's OP's entire instructions for flashing.)
Final step....Enjoy!

I hope this is the right thread for this...
Pardon my ignorance here, it's been a few years since I frequented this forum, or even XDA...
Is this what I want to use to get back to total stock, unrooted for resale?
(I've been rocking the Note 3 since it came out, FINALLY upgraded to something newer, and want to sell this to a sprint user.)
Yes it is
Just use the "CSC" file and not the "HOME_CSC." This should completely reset the device and clear user data.

VZW-N900VVRSEPL1 Offical Firmware

Just thought I'd share this last official update as it took quite a long time to download:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BO8m4JB7BR0l0x9cDG4KqKT2L8KnApHH/view?usp=sharing
To keep your bootloader unlocked, extract the tar.md5 and create a new tar with aboot.mbn and sbl1.mbn excluded.
@fddm
Thanks for sharing this.
Quick question, how do you make TAR files in Windows? Wasn't sure if something like 7Zip is capable of achieving this.
Also, is root possible on this build?

Yes, 7zip works fine. As long as you retain your unlocked bootloader by removing those files mentioned, you will be able to flash a custom recovery or patched Magisk boot.img.
Appreciate the reply. By the way looks like this guy already did the work and has these in flashable form if you are interested:

I updated my Verizon Note 3 a couple of days ago. I thought it a bit strange that after the update the Baseband version is still N900VVRUEOF1, while the Build number is LRX21V.N900VVRSEPL1. I had thought I could easily re-root it using the Arabic ToolApp, but it does not recognize the phone anymore as an OF1 but sees it as ver N900VVRSEPL1. I should be very grateful is someone shows me how to root the phone and unlock the bootloader.
I just got a hold of a samsung galaxy note 3 sadly much of the info on this forum is old and don't appear to work to root the device to put a newer version of android on the phone as it has android 5.0 Was really hoping I could put android 9.0 at least on the phone guess not since I can't get no root access to the phone or a bootloader. Any help would be great thanks.
