Can i charge the s3 with an USB hub on a OTG cable?

Hi, i want to use a USB OTG cable and use a USB hub on it so i can use 1 port to charge the s3 and the other a wired ps3 controller.
Can the s3 charge this way?

i mean that the otg cable will be on the s3 and i want to charge the s3 with a usb cable on the hub, not that i want to charge a s3 by conecting it usb cable on the hub.
In other words by using a usb hub in the s3 usb on the cable can i charge it on 1 port and the other port use a ps3 controller wired?
I want to use the ps3 controller on the s3 wired but charging the s3 at the same time.
I didnt understand.. Sorry

No clue but I'm also curious about this. In guessing you don't already have the hub otherwise you'd just have tried it.

It works. I'm doing exactly that right now.
USB hub plugged into the phone, keyboard + mouse + charger plugged into the hub. Phone shows AC charging status.
This has only happened once but: it didn't charge until I restarted my phone.

If it really works its great work by Samsung as so far I haven't been able to get it work the same way on my SGS2.

screen damaged

my S3 fell and screen turned purple then now completely dimmed. Phone is still working. I am runnung Slim rom 4.4.2. I powered on the phone in download mode and used adb pull /sdcard and was able to get all files from sdcard. What I am looking for now is a cable with micro usb from the phone's end and USB + HDMI (or micro HDMI) from the other end so I can connect the phone to my TV through HDMI and connect a USB mouse to the cable so I am able to control the phone. Is there such a cable ?
I think the genuine Samsung hdmi interface included a usb otg connector, but you'd have to check the specs. Bluetooth mouse/keyboard would also work.

I read USB port on the cable is a power port only. I can not use a BT mouse or keyboard cause the screen does not sense any touches, hence will not be able to turn BT on. That's why I am looking for a cable that can avail video & mouse simultaneously.

You are going to need a USB 1.x/2.0 Female Type A to Male Type Micro-B adapter cable.
The XTZ's USB port does not supply enough amperes to power most portable USB HHDs, so when selecting an HDD, make sure it requires very low amperes.
The WiFi mouse's Windows-based adapter will not work with the XTZ unless the mouse's manufacturer can provide Android drivers. You need to check with the manufacturer to see if they have any, but I highly doubt they have Android drivers. You will have better luck using a Bluetooth or USB mouse.
You can use a non-powered or powered USB hub to gain more USB ports. A powered USB hub would be a better choice because it would eliminate the problem of powering a USB HDD. Most powered USB hubs are powered by AC adapters, but you can find some that are battery powered.
There are several discussions in this forum about USB MHL to HDMI adapters. Search the forum to find out which adapters work with the XTZ.
You cannot charge a device using a charger through a USB hub. You will need a powered USB hub specifically designed for charging devices.
Right but the question is does the Xperia z tab can be charging the some time when is connect to tv via hdmi?

Try using a Micro USB Host OTG Y-Cable with Micro USB Power for Sony Phones & Tablets from Valarm, which they say has been tested with the XTZ SGP312.

OTG on Galaxy Tab S3 not working?

I have a USB C adapter connected to a Samsung OTG cable, but the tab S3 is not picking it up. The OTG cable works well on my Note 5. Is there a solution to it? Thanks
What are you trying to connect to your Tab S3? A hard drive?
I just tried a USB C flash drive on my Tab S3 and it works properly. OTG capability should be there.

I am using the Xiaomi USB Type-C to Micro USB adapter with a Samsung OTG cable. I use that Samsung OTG cable on my Note 5 to connect a thumb drive or a card reader and it works fine. Does that mean it is the USB Type-C to Micro USB adapter itself that must be OTG for it to work?
The Xiaomi USB Type C to Micro could be the culprit. Maybe it is used for charging only?
Yes, you are correct, it is for charging and connection to a PC and having an OTG cable on top does not seem to work. I have ordered a proper USB C OTG adapter online, it should arrive next week and I hope it works. Thanks for your response. Cheers.

Otg cable + tablet charger

I want to install my Samsung Tab 2 (P3100) as a head unit in my car.
I saw many DIY toturials with a micro USB OTG cable, but none with a OTG cable for my tablet model.
Does anyone help me find a way or a OTG cable for TAB 2 that simultaneously charge the tablet.
I also want to plug a USB Hub.
Thanks

You could try the following device. I have never tried one but would be interested in whether it works or not (and the cost):
