Adquisition and managment gps signal - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody,
It past 2 mounth, more or less, where every rom I flash (aicp, RR, cm13, BlissPop, xost etc) has problem as 3d title says.
Very very long time to take signal (before only few seconds) and when I start running I quickly lost the signal and it goes away for ever.
Does anyone know if there are problems with android or cm13 (all others roms are sons of it)?
Or maybe my mobile has gps problems?
Thank you all

[help[ CM 10.1 pathetic wifi range

Hi!
I have been using CM 10.1 (latest nightly available at the time of posting this thread). I have noticed that my phone gets 4 out of 5 bars when I am within 2 meters of the router and after moving about 3 to 4 meters away, range drops to 1 out of 5 bars and even disconnects sometimes. To be honest, I was on supernexus v5 before cm10.1 and on liquidsmooth v2.7 before supernexus v5. I have had the same problem on all three roms. I have tried resetting my connection settings through an app which requires root and that didnot solve the problem. I was on a stock rom before these AOSP roms and the range was significantly better. If you have a solution, please respond. Any replies/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi there friend,
If the problem is only the amount of signal bars then it's not a problem because the signal strength may vary between roms. If you're saying the problem occurs with other roms - have you tried to reset your router or with a different wifi network ?

[Q] WiFi Woes; Would love some help. [Already did thorough searching/troubleshooting]

So guys, I've been having some issues with WiFi on my S3 and I resort to posting here only after trying everything else that I can think of. I'm well aware of the rules regarding noobs on XDA and I hope that I haven't broken any of them.
The Problem: All networks are detected within normal range, but attempting to connect to them results in a "Saved, secured/open" result, while not connecting. Sometimes, by spamming the connect button, I can connect to a network for a few minutes, but will not get a working internet connection, just WLAN connection. Finally, when anything related to WiFi is left on, I experience extreme battery drain, surpassing even screen use in battery consumption.
What I've done:
Tried CM10.1 and CM10.2 AOSP ROMS, as well as Omni 4.4 ROMs.
Did some searching, tried various Stock based ROMs, same issue present.
Searched some more, tried flashing a stock ROM through Odin..same issue. (Although I did not leave it long enough to test battery drain.)
Tried that wifi patch for custom roms floating around, makes no difference.
Deleted files (on a fresh install) in the /data/ folders as suggested in several posts. No help.
Tried flashing a few modems, one did in fact seem to help my mobile data signal, but no luck for WiFi.
Tried the AOSP roms above with 1-2 different kernels.
Hit phone lightly against wall.
Remove MicroSD card.
I cannot remember exactly what happened when I noticed the issue because it was during the Christmas celebrations and I was staying at family. I chalked it up to their possibly shoddy router and made a mental note to reflash my rom when I got home, which is when I realised it wouldn't be such a simple fix.
I'm already preparing to buy a new phone (thinking Xperia Z), but I decided to post here as a last resort. I know this has been asked a lot, but I decided to post because I experience the same issue on the stock ROM, a symptom not listed in any of the reported cases posted.
Thank you guys for your help, I'd love to just be able to fix this issue and be done with it rather than shell out for a new phone. Hope everyone has a happy new year!

[Q] Unstable signal after ROM flash?

Hello
Yesterday I tried flashing my GT-I9300 with MIUI 4.9.20 rom with Danish language..
But I have some problems with the new rom.. My wifi and phone signal seems to have become unstable, when looking at the signal strength it jumps between full, low and no signal..
Don't know much about flashing roms, last time I did it was about year ago..
Looking at the forum, I see people talk about flashing modems etc. on the mobile.. Do I need to do this??
Anybody know how I can fix this?
If you need more information please ask..

Modem/Radio issue or hardware issue?

Just got my new Redmi Note 3 Pro (kenzo) last week. Decided to jump onto a custom ROM after using MIUI for a few days. Here's what I've done:
1. Official bootloader unlocked
2. Installed alka TWRP
3. Wipe all partitions
4. Installed CM13 Radios.zip , then installed official CM13 ROM + OpenGapps + SuperSU
Booted into the ROM fine, used it for a few days and everything works well (including fingerprint). Problem is, I keep getting orange/yellow/red signal bars under battery stats. It's not constantly either. If I leave the phone at the same spot, the signal fluctuates between orange and light green constantly. The entire cellular network signal under my battery graph looks like a traffic light.
I'm not using LTE, just standard 3G. I get about -85db to ~91db, which is high. At the same spot on a different phone (also on 3G), I get about -75db (the lower the better). The thing is, on my kenzo, the signal bar is usually full or almost full, so I don't understand why the signal is so bad. So I thought, maybe I just need to flash another radio/modem. I then took the official MIUI 7.x ROM and flashed the NON-HLOS.bin via fastboot, but the result is still the same.
I've tested a different ROM as well, but same result. I don't seem to have any issues with call qualities and battery seems to be OK and unaffected by this. Not sure if it's a bug (unlikely, as I've tested both a CM and AOSP ROM), or perhaps an issue with the modem/radios or more likely a hardware fault with my phone? Someone else reported this issue as well, but apparently it works fine for them on ZephyrOS or something (I haven't tested this).
I must also point out that while I was on stock MIUI, I don't see any bad signals on my phone. It's always green.
Anyone?
Hi, I'm the one who posted it works on Zephyr. But it doesn't, actually. I solved this problem by putting it on airplane mode, waiting ~10secs and the problem stops(mostly, if it didn't, try again). You can check in *#*#4636#*#*, it doesn't drop to -113dBm. I thought it might not drain battery but I'm on ressurection remixed and there's a phone idle drain of about 131mAh.
Hi mate, thanks for your reply.
I've noticed that as well, tried putting it in airplane mode and then back to normal mode, the signal seems to be a lot more stable. My phone has never went to -113dBm though, just averaging high -80dbm ~ -95dbm. I've noticed that if you hold the phone with your left hand, the signal is much better. I think this may be similar to iPhone 4's signalgate issue, where the modem chip/band is sitting at a bad spot that is blocked depending on how you hold the phone. Disappointing to be honest.....but anyway, signal seems to be stable so far on the leaked 5.1 Qualcomm AOSP ROM. Same thing on MIUI.
Update:
BTW, it's not just the phone signal, even GPS is affected as well. When I'm inside buildings, I can't get any GPS signal at all using Device Only. If I select High Accuracy (which uses GPS and WiFi for fetching signals), I can then lock on a signal. In other words, the Device Only option (which solely relies on GPS itself) will fail when I'm inside buildings. This tells me that the chip for fetching phone and GPS signals is either crap, or that Xiaomi has packaged them in a bad layout design or position within the phone. It doesn't matter what ROM I try, the result is the same. Even using apps like FasterGPS (which downloads the gps.conf file for your country) doesn't help.
However, it's not really a big deal. I can get a lock on the GPS signal inside buildings if I use High Accuracy. Once a signal is locked, I can then switch back to Device Only and GPS will continue to work. Also, when I'm outside of the building, I can get a fast lock on using Device Only straight away, so it's not really a problem. It's just that compared to my Galaxy S5 (a 2 year old phone), the Redmi Note 3 doesn't seem much better. I know it's a budget phone, but the specs of the phone should be a lot better than my 2 year old S5.
One last thing I should point out is that the building I'm in isn't a big building with multiple floors. It's actually a small house and I get about -75dbm for my phone signal. So it's not like I'm in a bad spot with no reception. GPS just doesn't work well when you're inside a house/building on this phone.

Lack of Mobile Data on i9100 with RR 5.8.2

My i9100 has run the latest 5.8.2 Resurrection Remix rom for the past week and I noticed the tiny X on the Sim Card connectivity icon on the Not. Bar. I can call and message and vice-versa but I can't access the interwebs with it; when its on, the mobile data icon shows 3G or H+ depending where I am but next to it it shows an X.
I've tried rebooting, removing the sim card and cleaning it. I don't have much of an issue with flashing the damn thing a thousand times if I have to. Also, I was running Lineage OS 14.1 before and while everything worked ok, it was kinda sluggish so I turned to RR and it feels Freaking Great except for this minor step back. Any help would be massively appreciated.
Thanks
