Hi; could you post some other photos, please? The ones you posted are in manual mode? If not, could you post some in this way? Actually, which is your opinion about this camera? Thanks
p.s. I see a difference from the ones you posted and the ones you titled "A few pics of The Hague "...why?

Hi, all photos I take in Auto Mode, I seldom use the manual mode as I find not needed to take time to manual control it.
In latest firmware, Huawei had make the photo output even perfect, now the noise is well control to minimum and it can produce must better output than initial firmware.
The "A few pics of The Hague" is not taken by me. It is post by others XDA member.

Some recent photos taken with latest firmware of Huawei P9 Plus.

Hi, sorry...I was wrong, I confused that post...anycase, those night photos are less good than yours! As I was asking, what do you think about this camera? Are you satisfied? All the photos you posted are really nice! So the software, the last, made the photos better, you think? Thanks a lot
p.s. I know, it's out of thread, but how is the phone in general? Radio signal, connection?

Great quality; maybe, colors are too saturated!

No issue on connection or radio signal for me.
Ya the film mode will make photo much vibrant and punchy. Also a slightly vignette.
You can always use standard mode which produce natural color and no vignette.

Hi; but do you confirm what you wrote, "In latest firmware, Huawei had make the photo output even perfect"? Which firmware? Many thanks again for your kindness too; and if you want, please post other photos

Hello Andrew, which firmware do you have and what model of P9 plus ?
Thanks, have a nice day.

I must say I am very disappointed with this Leica dual camera ... of course only in low light conditions :crying:
Galaxy S7 Edge made awesome photo in low light conditions compared with P9 Plus (VIE-AL10) !
On the other side in good light conditions, the pictures come out pretty good as well as the video quality seems to be ok !
Huawei P9 Plus VIE-AL10 with new Firmware B183 !
Best regards !

I STRONGLY suspect my camera is faulty. I can't get anywhere near as clear and crisp photos as you guys. Take a look at them yourself. I mean they're OK but once you zoom in, you'll get tons of noise and no detail. Quite the opposite of what you've guys managed to take.
I had Honor 8 for a week, and it took amazing photos compared to this. Which is strange, since these phones are almost identical. With Honor 8 you could take a picture like the last one is, and zoom in at least 3 times without any noise or pixelation in it. With P9 Plus the noise is already there, when you view full sized image.

Homemade wooden stand!

Hey all,
I was becoming pretty frustrated with having to use my transformer on my desk flat, or use something to prop it up. I've seen some of the ones available in the stores, but could never find one in store which I liked. So I decided to make a stand of my own, and like how it turned out. Unfortunately it isn't adjustable, but the angle is set to something I'd be comfortable with. Let me know what you guys think. BTW, I used all bits and pieces of pine I could find in the yard. So total cost today = $0. Thanks for looking!

Thanks. I'm planning on using it as a desktop stand. It also works well as a lap desk now that I've tried it.
Not sure how I should finish it though. As you can see, the wood glue shows on the joint and looks a little ugly. I was thinking of spraying a clear varnish over the natural wood? What do you guys think?
Wow, that's really awesome!
that is super cool, you made a mini podium! I dig it!
You can also make something like this out of clothe hanger. Here's a video I made.
Thanks for the feedback guys. But how should I finish it?

All right.
Rooters:
do FxP's AOSP builds support USB-OTG? The reason I ask is that Sony changed this in their official ROM by having to search for USB devices via a (Quick) Settings entry, because the port cannot be powered due tot the water resistance.
do FxP's AOSP builds have support for changing the display's white balance? This is also a custom Sony thing.
do Sony's ROMs running on an unlocked Z4T still have support for changing the display's white balance?

1. No.. the port seems to always be off

A few other annoying things are that NFC and gyroscope, accelerometer and such (screen rotation) don't seem to work for me at least (after 4 reflashes it's the same) and there is no recovery as far as I know for it (the androplus one didn't work)... But hey USB and WiFi tethering/hotspot works! (doesn't seem to be a option on the stock WiFi only firmware)
---------- Post added at 04:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:50 PM ----------
And a question by me in case someone knows of it... Is there a way to get custom recovery on AOSP ROM?
I'm expecting a answer to be no but it can't hurt to ask

Oh my. So on AOSP I don't have NFC, gyroscope, accelerometer, USB-OTG and white balance controls? Can anyone confirm?
I'm on the verge of unlocking the bootloader to run AOSP, but if this is the case with the current builds, that are based on the only Sony sources, I'm really let down. It's practically unusable.

I think you already have noticed that the Xiaomi adapter doesn't work with this device, but I found one which works perfectly since it has dac
You (or whoever is looking for one) can find it on Aliexpress by "Vention USB Type C to 3.5mm" (not the cheapest one but the one which cost around 5$)
Sorry aparently I cannot share the link bc I haven't enought posts but I wanted to share the info anyways

Moto X4 Dbrand Skin Support

UPDATE: Now available!
https://dbrand.com/shop/moto-x4-skins
I had great results using Dbrand on my Moto Z play to protect the glass on the back especially the camera glass. But it looks like they haven't announced support for the X4 yet.
After I emailed them they said they are on the fence for supporting it. So please if your reading this head to the link and select "skin request for a new device" and send them a quick message.
https://dbrand.com/contact
I think it would only take a hand full more messages to get them to support the device.

Done. I'd like to see a super slim case like the MNML or Peel brand, but I would make do with a skin, especially for the back glass and camera.
+1, I'm hoping they'll change their minds soon as a dbrand skin would be perfect for this phone.
Here's the response I got today:
Thanks for reaching out. We’re still on the fence about supporting the Moto X4. We haven’t received enough requests to begin prototyping and production immediately, but we’ve received enough to still have it on the table as an option. Keep an eye on our Twitter in the coming weeks for updates. Let us know if there's anything else we can help with and have a great day!
Signed,

So they have it in consideration but they still need more individuals to reach out!

After all the money they pay YouTube reviewers, they'd be able to support more phones. I'm sure it would take them no more than a few hours to make a template if they wanted.

I am clueless to the process of making these skins, but considering how fast they were able to post the new Razer phone skins you would think it would be in their best interest to make skins for the budget moto x4. Perhaps I am biased, but it seems to me that demand would higher for a $400 android one phone than a $700 gaming phone made by a computer peripherals company.

Agreed. I don't really even see the Razor phone having that high of demand either. TBH, I think it will be about as successful as the Nextbit Robin, or the Essential Phone.

I came to know about this site when I saw your post. Yesterday I ordered skin for Moto X4 from this site [Back: Sandstone Black, M Logo: Brushed Titanium]. As I am from India, I received it in a single day. Quality of the material is good and all the cutouts are accurate. However, today I applied skin to a phone for the first time ever, still I managed to do it more than 95% correctly. I messed it up slightly at the corner edges.
The skin looks good and I am happy with it.

I removed the camera skin yesterday as it was making trouble for the wide angle lens. Although I had applied it well, corners of the frame were appearing slightly blackish while capturing photo with wide angle lens. There was no issue with primary lens, only wide angle lens was getting affected.

Ported Google Camera on Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus?

Has anyone tried to installed the ported Google Camera on Redmi 5 Plus yet? I still have to wait one more week in order to unluck the bootloader.
Waiting for someone to review as well

With Gcam HDR+ Auto:
Took 14 photos today with both Redmi 5 Plus and Mi 5s in low light. Both with google camera (same settings). See the results here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets/72157692005458944
As you can see, the OV12A10 sensor in Redmi 5 Plus is very good when combined with good software (Gcam HDR+). Almost as good as IMX378 used in Mi 5s (also used in Pixel 1:gen).
I used this apk: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/...018.177470874.41362666__A7.0-8.1_MI5S_v2e.apk
suggested settings: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/settings03/

True. Perhaps some other version of the apk or another configuration works with the front camera. In a worst case scenario, you can still use the Gcam-app for rear camera photos and the stock-app for selfies. Personally, I never use the frontcam.

Tried that one. However, I often get force close using that apk.
This one works without force close and has a working selfie-camera (but no hdr+ for selfies or potrait mode): https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/...0H_C2API_Full_PXL2_v.1.4_60FPS_noburst_v3.apk
