Redmi Note 3 SD650 Accelerometer Issue Solved? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Is the accelerometer issue in RN3 SD650 version solved? I have to choose one b/w RN3 and Moto G4 Plus, RN3 has better specs in less bucks but I saw there is a problem with Gyroscope/Accelerometer, so please tell me if it's solved in the MIUI8 6.7.5 Global beta as soon as possible.

This problem seem to occur only on MM roms since official drivers for these sensors are not yet released and also something to know is that also light sensor does not seem to work on MM roms. Though, Redmi Note 3 Pro does not have any problems in stock rom and battery is a major concern if you decide to buy Moto G4 since our Remi Note 3 is a battery Monster. (What I said before about the sensors is tested by me but i have only tesetd it in two roms the XOSP and Santosh's CM13, so I don't know if this problem persists in other roms like banmeifyouwant's MM)

That hasn't happened to me. At least on the stock Rom. The only problems I had was with the orientation which i always had a fast and secure fix for it and it always work. Though, we wait from Xiaomi to fix all these in the next few stable updates.

The forum posts said that when the device is on Auto Brightness, the gyroscope/accelerometer gives problem in low light. This issue has been there since 4 months and Xiaomi promised a fix in MIUI8, but it's still is not fixed. Can you please confirm this :

It's urgent

Send me an app to test the sensors and I will play asphalt with gyro and accel to confirm.

I still haven't succeeded to make it lag. Also, a dev released Camera2API for Redmi Note 3 Pro

Turn off auto brightness and open default "Compass" app that comes with MIUI. Rotate your phone and you will see smooth compass rotation on phone screen. Now turn on auto brightness and see how compass lags when rotating. You will need to cover top part of phone (above screen) with your arm to simulate night if you do this test at daytime.
MIUI 8 has the same bug, they did not fix it. This lag is probably the reason why sensors die after some time when playing games.

Just did it and no lag at all.

Maybe you did not cover top part of phone completely. To be sure, try it again tonight in a completely dark room (you do not need to cover phone in that case) and report then what happens.
Temporary solution until they fix this problem is to not use auto brightness.

Tested it at night. Still the same. I guessed you meant to test it with open automatic brightness and I tried that way and the lag was not actually much. I noticed the difference but this is something caused by the hardware optimization that Xiaomi has to do. This has to do with software and hardware optimization as normally the sensor should be used by a single source and not by many.

sometime i have this problem on miui, but i use the developer rom

With auto brighness disabled, "Compass" app runs very smooth at probably 30 or maybe even 60FPS. Can't tell because it is perfectly smooth. When you enable auto brighness, you get around 5FPS. So, i would disagree with anyone saying that lag is barely noticeable. Imagine using this phone on auto brightness inside Google Cardboard. It is impossible.
Again, temporary solution is to disable auto brightness before using any sensor based app.

It is a solution for different problem - for people that have vendor rom and their sensors do not work at all. They will still have lag and sensors stopping working with auto brightness after applying above fix.

does it still lag? or you fixed it?

I think this is a bug in the touchscreen driver. Hopefully LG can fix this. If you touch the screen, CPU load goes up to 100%.

Yep, can't play some games cause of this bug
normally if the device lags you need to restart. restarting the device once in a while is normal for android devices. if you have task killer remove it and replace it with autokiller...work far more better that task killer. IMHO

That's not our case. As corwin said I believe that touch panel drivers are sh1t, this doesn't have anything to do with what you said.
i have the same problem.?mb the reason is tweaks(JIT en hw en)?
Does it happen in the stock ROM as well?
I think that trouch screen bug is the main reason for this problem.I hope that LG will solve this problem soon. But before i bought my p500 i read in some web, they write that this phone have develop with Google team and why have ****!!! problem like this.

where have you try it?
In some game or Neocore, every ROM laging when you touch screen.
Neocore score without touch 44 frame/s, with touch 15 frame/s.
This is maybe problem inside firmware.
Sorry for my English
Yah, you are not alone, I have that problem too.
It lags in games such as Heavy Gunner, and Raging Thunder 2, where I have to hold to boost, or shoot
I hope OC might help since when I held my finger anywhere in the screen I saw the cpu max out in the app system panel.
I have firmware V10c
get similar problem on solipskier (rooted and jit-ed)
I have the same issues.
Has anyone already contacted LG about this issue?
I don't think this is really a bad driver from LG (though I cannot comfirm that).
Native input and sensor events
Applications that use native code can now receive and process input and sensor events directly in their native code, which dramatically improves efficiency and responsiveness.
Faster event distribution
The plaform now handles touch and keyboard events faster and more efficiently, minimizing CPU utilization during event distribution. The changes improve responsiveness for all applications, but especially benefit games that use touch events in combination with 3D graphics or other CPU-intensive operations.
These are two of just a few of the awesome develpments for Gingerbread, and I believe these would help out on our model phones immensly. Thats why I am spending more time that I should be afterhours poking around 2.3. If only this was my job, and I could spend more than 2-4 hours a day on it before passing out...
can someone email LGs support and ask them?
I was ignored two months ago, just got a message from LG bot.."thank you for blah blah blah..we will reply blah blah" and nothing more I told them about the screen lag problem and asked for solution. I hope that Gingerbread will solve it, or that LG will provide some fix before Gingerbread will come out for our phone..

[Q] lag on lolipop ?

Just updated my tablet to lolipop yesterday and there're lags with nova launcher as well as facebook and gmail . did anyone else experience the same thing with me ? I would be grateful if someone can show me how to fix it. Thanks a lot
Maybe switching off Adaptive brightness will help
I also have the problem, even sometime very slow to silde the surface, sometime very smooth , i like android 4.4 more than 5.0 lollipop , because is stable
Mine is very smooth. I did clean install but apps restored using titanium backup

Yes I have the same issue.
The version is currently 23.1.A.0.726, sometimes it's butter-smooth, but for other times it's laggy even if you just flip around your homescreen and settings.
Set brightness to ghe low level wil help, yes, it did, thank you,but why ? My tablet is no longer smart =_=
It always had this problem, even on kitkat. I partially solved it by installing lux auto brightness from play store, but it's still not entirely fixed. These Sony devs are really blind, 2 lollipop updates since then and haven't done anything about it.
I received my tab today and decided to update to lollipop. At first I noticed lots of lag and dropped frames. I then put it on charge and noticed that it was buttery smooth. Since taking it off charge it's still buttery smooth. Not sure what I did, but am a lot happier now. I just hope it lasts.
Update...
Have now realised what causes the dropped frames. Its when you have the brightness set too High!! The brightness seems to throttle the processor. Bit stupid if you ask me. Luckily I usually have my brightness set about 50 to 60%. I hope Sony fix this.

Have the same issue, took a while to find the cause.
I'm still on 23.1.A.0.690.
Does anybody already have 23.1.A.1.28 and does still have this issue?
Some guys in a German board say they do not see any difference in low and high brightness and I think they have the newer version...

Hmm, I didn't use my tablet much until recently but I did notice some stuttering while moving around if screen was really bright (on 23.1.A.0.690).
I do not notice the same stuttering on 23.1.A.1.28, actually it seems as fluid on maximum brightness as it does on minimum.

Mines definitely stutters on 23.1.A1.28 when brightness is over 50%. Still faster than my old Samsung galaxy tab s.
Just checked another device in a local "MediaMarkt" store.
It was running on 23.1.A.1.28 and also had this lag - it was really terrible... When I covered the bightness sensor, it started to fly.
This is ridiculous... I hope Sony will fix this in 5.1.
On a side note, mine has a rainbow effect when looking straight at the screen, which is disturbing when reading web pages. The demo device in the store had exactly the same effect - so I'll have to send it back.
Sigh, that was such a great device, but these two issues are a killer for me

No, don't even bother on custom ROM as its will give you more problems dan solutions. i'm using stable 10.3.4.0 too (4k 60fps with built-in camera app ftw) with extreme kernel and it works seamlessly. if you're not a hardcore gamer and concerning more to longevity of the phone try franco kernel instead (bc extreme kernel will overclock everything). FK will underclock your CPU and optimize some other settings to make your phone running 'enough' power with minimal battery drain.

Using multitouch test app, if i try to touching the same spot repeatedly it's only detects like only 7/10 touches. But when playing games or typing there's no missing touch though. For ghost touch, i don't encounter any.

This is the kinda person who start talking rubbish, mocking other's opinion, start a fight in a peacefully thread and thinking they are know abt everything. Custom ROM is just a skin that do a little to none modification to system, and kernel will have more control than custom ROM bcs kernel IS the main driver for the hardware. So if you're pointing out that he just need to test it via software perspective, then flash a custom kernel and he will know if the issue is on the hardware level or just need an updated/modded driver/software. Stop treating others like that, start a debate with manners, smart guy.
Should i sell this phone and buy Samsung? I bought this phone for gaming. I can't play any game because touch issue.
I sell this phone today because bad display. I will use Android emulator for PC.
I had Ghost Touch problem on my Xiaomi mi9 in Call of Duty Mobile and PubG.
This is the only solution which fixed my problem:
xiaomi.eu/community/threads/xiaomi-mi-9-ghost-touch-issue.51043/#post-503263
1. Open settings
2. Activate developer options (My device > Tap 8 times on "MIUI-Version")
3. Settings > Additional Settings
4. Developer options
5. Disable MIUI-Optimizations (at the very bottom).
6. Reboot

Touch Lag/Sluggish touch response on COD/PUBG

Hey. I have searched extensively for the solution. Can't find it anywhere. So basically I just bought this phone.
Now whenever I am playing CODM or Pubg. The touch delay is huge, I mean if I swipe anywhere it takes half a second to swipe and in a floaty and Sluggish fashion.
This makes aiming almost impossible ?*
Anyone got any solution? I have tried to downgrade OOS to 10.0.3 from 10.0.8 using EDL method. No luck.
I know this is a software issue. So does anyone have any solution?

The game works butter smooth. It's the touch response I have a problem with.
Meaning touch latency is delayed if that makes sense.
I personally don't have any issues but I've read somewhere that setting the graphics to High helps

I believe OP has low touch refresh rate to 90ghz..where apple 11 and gaming phones has greater than 120ghz which is really important same to samsung highend..OP concentrated on screen refreshment only that is not much useful but also should look into touch refresh rate for gaming and quick touch responses. I fed with OP now
The touch refresh rate of the OnePlus 7T Pro is 1.5x the screen refresh rate meaning it is 135 Hz. That shouldn't be an issue. There are several factors that can play a role in this but I suspect that it comes down to the kernel and poorly implemented drivers. You can try a custom kernel and see if that improves anything. Most custom kernels at least include some kind of upstream and optimisations that can make a huge impact (like Smurf Kernel for me on the OP6 made a huge improvement).
Mine is oneplus8pro not 7

The same applies to the OnePlus 8 pro, though the touch sampling rate is 240 Hz so 2x times the screen refresh rate. I would still try to use a custom kernel to check whether or not it improves the latency issues. Smurf kernel is available for the OP8P which I can recommend. But there are other custom kernels available for each and everyone's liking
As this thread is posted in the OP7TP section I assumed the question was regarding this device. I didn't get that you are talking about the OP8P
This issue common on devices with higher refresh rate, this delay is causing because you could set your screen refresh rate lower than maximum refresh rate (like using 60 fps).
To fix this issue you just need to increase your screen refresh rate to maximum then only your device will use the maximum "touch sample rate".

Advice for rom

I have tried some roms in the past, but wasnt really happy with stock camera in the roms or the full screen birghtness when unlocking.
I wonder if there are already roms with 100% of the quality from stock MIUI camera and normal FOD unlock wthout full 100% brightness.
I saw for example dotOS and it looks good, just not sure if camera and FOD are like in stock MIUI.
Someone has advice?
DotOS is a really good ROM. The camera is perfect and there is no problem with the brightness on the lockscreen. The only problem I encountered is the way that the rom don't want to update itself.
TL;DR : Try it !
Okay, it's almost 3 months since last advice, and for now which ROM is the best? Is DotOS still worth installing, or should I choose something newer, like Evolution X 6.0 or DerpFest (which are on A12)?
I am looking for great stability and camera, fast fingerprint sensor, good battery and working SafetyNet. Also, good RAM management would be significant for me, as I get very frustrated, when MIUI is reloading app that was recently opened. It's like c'mon, this phone has 6 GB of RAM, more than some older PC's.
Also, did you hear about ANXCamera? Is it good?

Yeah I still use DotOs, stability is great also fingerprint scanner is fast, Battery is crazy compared with MIU easy 8-9 hour screentime. Which translates for me to 7+ days without charging.
Yes I have ANXCamera installed which is like 95% the same as MIUI camera. Only thing I found was that its says 48MP instead of 64MP, but I never use that mode all other modes are working correct.
