Hi,
I'm reading within this forum for a while now since I'm getting a SGS2 soon. All possibilities for rooting the device seem to require flashing a modified kernel and installing all the well-known root apps (superuser, busybox etc.).
My question is: Is there an app that is able to root the device by simply hit a button or something similar? I do not want to flash my new device, but wanted to test some root-requiring apps (Chainfire 3D, Titanium Backup). One candidade seems to be an app called z4root (available here at the devs), does anybody have experiences with that app?

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this app (Australian Banking app) or any like it.
Basically I installed a custom 4.4.2 rom (SlimKat) and I rooted the device and use SuperSU, when I load the app it gives me a warning about my phone being modified, I tried to remove the root with SuperSU (I used to use Voodookeeper OTA when I was on stock 4.2.2 and below) but this made no difference (regardless of trying temp or the full unroot option) and I still had the message.
So does anyone know if I can actually fool the app into thinking my device isn't modified? Or is it the fact I have a custom rom and is there no way to hide that fact?? Has anyone had any experience with a similar app?

That worked perfectly thankyou very much.
I would have much preferred something by Chainfire or the Voodoo OTA app, seeing as they are so heavily used it would have been nice for my peace of mind, but beggers can't be choosers and the solution still gets me what I wanted, so thanks again.

Worked fine for me, purify app from the developer also installs automatically unfortunately.
Again your warranty may be void after rooting.
What about unlocking the bootloader? Custom recovery? A have no idea any ideas?

Bootloader unlocking can be officially done through registering on huawei's Chinese website (don't worry just choose english lang) and following "refomatting lock" guide: https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail
On custom recovery and ROM: no developer is working on that, as far as I know. I've started to research it but I have very limited experience on building custom recovery from source and I haven't found one developed to a similar device to port it.

Don't have a clue... it was working fine for me. I have registered, provided all the info it needed (IMEI, Serial num. etc.), and int return it gave me the unlock code...

As mentioned above root can be done readily just running KingRoot...

A unlocked the bootloader but really was a waste of time if we hav no custom recovery and rom wish a never bought this tablet
Why? What to take into account when buying a tablet?
And is it anything one could mod with this model once one has it already at hand?
Rooted mine as well with KingRoot.
You can freeze Purify now since you are rooted.
You can install Xposed Framework as well, Any version before 2.6 is working fine.
KingRoot does its job well indeed! However there is a problem with applying
Super-Sume afterwards. It's strange, on other KK devices it went smoothly...

there is a thread on how to replace kingroot supersu or such. with each kingroot update they try to block the replacement
Ponder not exactly the case the latest KingRoot needs the latest Super-Sume.
After many trials only this pair works for me: KingRoot 4.8.1 with Super-Sume 9.1.3
Any other combination fails, it's strange, especially when with older KingRoot (4.8.1 as still it makes root) attempting the latest Super-Sume... (it fails)
However there's another problem, specifically for the MediaTab T1. After replacing with Super-Sume, indeed, SuperSU is working and kicking, but unfortunately JUST ONLY when you set the option GRANT as "Access -> Default policy" (in SuperSU). When you set PROMPT it fails as the system somehow prevents popping up messages (in this case: requests for user's approval to grant root for an application).
Has anybody any idea how to alleviate this?
People used to say there's some sort of ui overlay in this MediaTab. Probably it blocks third party apps' pop-ups... What to do, what to freeze?

Thanks for this thread and the links......I rooted my Huawei MediaPad T1 8.0 LTE-821L last night using Kingroot only took 2 or 3 minutes very straight forward after a bit more forum reading I downloaded and installed Titanium backup....
T1-821L rooted with the latest Kingroot app. Very easy. Then i downloaded Super-Sume 6.0 APK File. Now i have SuperSU. No problems!
I would love to find a development tree for this phablet.
It is lacking:
1. Developers!!
2. Custom recovery (TWRP/CWM)
3. CPU Governor development
4. That sweet baby-jesus Custom Rom that hordes of nerds pray for! I would do it myself but i am linux disabled. Cyanogenmod nougat update would blow ppls minds but for now i would settle for stripped 4.4 android with cpu overclocking.

HI , i own a samsung galaxy j500f and as we know it is rigged with loads of useless google and Microsoft apps. i know methods to remove these bloatwares using root but is there a way using ADB? my v 6.0.1 security level: 1 august

I know that you need root with adb too (someone correct me if im wrong).
You can disable or "uninstall" them by going to Settings > App > App which you want and click on disable/uninstall. But the apks will still be in phone, so they still use some internal memory.

If you want to completely remove bloatware apps from your device then you have to root your device and then use apps like lucky patcher or titanium backup for removing apps. Disabling the apps will not remove them so they are still consuming storage space. So disabling is not very useful.
Why do you refrain from rooting your device??

this is my first android smartphone, i have just jumped the ship from windows phone. Its too early for me to get into rooting and side loading custom ROMs ( its only been 1 week with the new device), though i know the procedure but i am satisfied with what the device has to offer. the only pain in the arse are the bloatwares which holds nearly 500mb of internal space.
also its sad we cant make sdcard as adoptable storage in j500f , otherwise it would have been awesome.
if you suggest rooting is there an app for j500f to be rooted by one click, chain fire bricked my device as the version was old , for the device. also i did root my device earlier but with twrp and supersu which is just too mcuh of work .
also what apps would be best to uninstall bloat wares completely? also can i get a list of bloatwares present in j500f? i need my android clean and free form samsung products. :fingers-crossed:

I understand since its a new phone you are reluctant to root it. But if you want to root it then you can root it with Systemless root flashable zip with the help of twrp. I know it is a lot of work but at present there is no app which can root MM in one click. So systemless root is the best option. If you want i can give you the link of the latest systemless root which will not at all brick your device as i have tested it myself.

Just download the zip file and flash it through twrp. After flashing the supersu app will appear in the app drawer. The supersu app should appear in the app drawer, if it does not it means something is wrong but most probably it should not happen if you do all the things correctly. If you have any doubt ask me.

A 64 gb micro sd xc is ready to go! I realize that TWRP and SuperSU are useful tools. Do I have to install both to get started? What else should I have installed beforehand? I'm asking because at the moment there's less than 500 mb available. Which custom rom would you recommend? Do I root first and install the rom later? Is there a step-by-step manual I could follow? A nice and easy, user friendly rom would be great as my mom is 75 but delighted to use social media to keep in touch with her family ...

Firstable start downloading odin for your pc. Then flash twrp on your phone with odin.
Flash SuperSU with twrp and i would suggest not flashing custom roms but you can always try Cyanogen Rom.
And with root just install an app which can remove any app and there you go! Hope i helped you xD

You can Easily Do so by using an app called SuperSume pro which you can find on play store easily. Unfortunately it is paid.
However google it, for sure u'll find it for free somewhere.

The very easy but long way I personally use is to 1st rooting the device using kingroot. Then flashing custom recovery (I suggest TWRP) using any flash tool. Then completely unrooting from kingroot (no root backup).
But then you'll already have a custom recovery working in your device. From there flash supersu.zip for your device and you are done. Now if you want you can reflash the stock recovery.
I recommend you creating a backup of stock recovery before flashing a custom one.
