I use HPUSBDisk.exe which I cant add as an attachment, but google it, I found it here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Hard-Disk-Utils/HP-USB-Disk-Storage-Format-Tool.shtml
Download it, then right click/run as administrator. Always works for me.

[Q] How to copy 32GB card over to 64GB

Hi
Apologies, but I'm having a little difficulty. I just bought a 64 GB sandisk card, and had reformatted it in my SGS2. It recognises 59GB OK. That is not the issue.
I am trying to copy my 32GB card (about 29GB full) using my Windows 7 PC into a folder on my desktop. Then I was going to copy entire contents onto 64GB card and insert in SGS2.
But it just won't do it. Windows just doesn't seem to be built for shifting around that volume of data.
What am I doing wrong?
You have to so be doing something wrong i have copied even more than that before without any issues.
do a search and see what you come up with.
Download Teracopy and install. A million times better than the standard file transferring in windows. Will allow you to see where the copy failed and retry anything that failed to copy. Also won't stop the file copy when one fails, will skip that file and continue copying.
How is the card formated. Windows wont allow a single file bigger than 4gb if its FAT32. You have to use other programs.

His 32gb existing card would be fat32, so i doubt that's the problem.

Where did you get you're 64gb card, how much was it?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
I think what s2sd is impling that you might have a fals sd card with a boot loop crack installed on it.
You can test the card for this, have a lot at this site:http://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/2...standard-in-detecting-usb-counterfeit-drives/
It happend to me aswell, even paying a normal amount for the card
To check for fake cards, try the SDCardTester app (free from Android Market). There's also a Windows app, h2testw, that works similarly.

Hi, I used Terra Copy, everything works fine. I now have 8,000 songs on my phone.
Thanks for the help guys.

SD Card blank or has unssuported filesystem

Hi guys,
so recently i screwd up my phone and needed a motorola factory cable to fix it. Now that i have it and up and running, i seem to have another problem.
My SD Card is not recognized in the phone. when i put it in my other phone, it works fine with all data there. Connected to my com and it reads it and what not. So i tried formating it again, and same problem.
Tried fastbooting my phone back twice to stock unrooted, and its the same. Tried factory reset, the same..
any idea how can i fix this? Or do i need to get my self a new SD Card T_T
thanks!!
Format the sdcard as fat32 partition from the PC. Use a program that can partition disks/ cards like MiniTool Partition Wizard
Hi! thanks for the reply, tried that, same thing
Hi, just to add..i tried a friends SD card in my phone, and im getting the same error. could it be due to h/w problem?

Android 4.0+ supports up to 64gb SD.

yeah.. maybe 64gb is not supported..
Quite easy.Uninstall the SD CARD and install it again for several times. And it will be ok.

After installing TWRP, N3 can't mount SD?

I just installed TWRP on my N3, when it first booted up there were some problems that I've come acrossed. First it made some apps not work..then I went into Astro to move the backup I just did to my external SD, It froze on me while moving the file so I restarted the phone. Now I can't even access my external SD card anymore. It just shows up that I don't have a SD card mounted...Any fix for this?
What I have and what I've done to my N3:
8gb SD card from my old S3
Rooted N3 from Chainfire's post and that's it
Installed TWRP
I have the same problem. I have been searching for 3 days for a solution. I am coming from the g note 2 with 64 gig extreme SanDisk sd card. When i put the sd card back in my note 2 it works fine. This sucks, I hope a solution is posted soon.

I remember reading some where that someone suggested backing up your SD card to your PC, formatting the card in the N3, then moving everything back over to it. Hope it helps...
As far as the 64gb cards.
Remove everything from card.
Format as fat 32.
Replace your files.
Viola.

Use this method and flash a custom deodexed room and problems gone..
1st step
1. Download openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.2-hltespr.img.tar file.
Provide by here http://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/hltespr/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.2-hltespr.img.tar
2. Now download an app from playstore call ZArchiver.apk
3. Whit ZArchiver extract the file above and copy the recovery.img
4. Next Save the recovery.img file in the SD ..
2nd step
Download flashify app
3rd step
Open the app call Flashify and Find the recovery.img in the SD and flash it
4 step
Nothing to do just reboot and you will see the magic.....
Hope you like my method this is my first post...

Best bet would be like others suggested, backup the SD to PC, reformat card and try again. [Have you tried other directory explorers ? I use Root Explorer with no issues]
I am using my 64GB card from my E4GT [S2] with no reformatting required and no problems what so ever [so far -- knock on wood]

If nothing can read [detect] the card then it is dead, kill it with fire to make sure the data is 10000000% destroyed :[
The issue is as on now TWRP cannot read exfat. Most SD cards are formatted in exfat by default. You will not be able to reformat the card on windows 7/8 machines in fat32 with out a third party program. Easiest way to reformat your card to fat32 is go to TWRP recovery and choose wipe. It will auto format your card to fat32. "be sure you backed up anything on your card prior to wipe". After you see the card has been wiped go back to install in TWRP and you will be able to choose your sd card.

[Q] Ext SD Card Issues

Wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issue I am.
Was using my phone and my Samsung 64GB class 10 Micro Sdcard "ejected" although it was still in the phone. It had been working fine for a week. I manually ejected and placed it back in but it will not read. I get the "Scanning/Preparing SD card" Message but it always says unavailable. Thinking that my card crapped out on my, I put a brand new Kingston class 10 64 GB sd card but experiencing the same results. Oddly enough, I have an old Class 10 Transcend 8GB card that will read. I am running the stock OS-Unlocked Boot/Rooted/S-off. Only mods I have done are flashing the released HTC kernel that is R/W. (Dont know if I need to reflash the one that came with the phone), and flashed the SD card write fix posted in this thread :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2700310
Anyone know where I can get the stock ATT kernel that may have the correct drivers for ext sd? Any suggestions?

Hey, thanks for the reply.
I have a SD card reader on my laptop and it recognized the card just fine but if I put the card in the phone and plug in the phone to computer via USB, it will NOT recognize/see the card.
Im pretty sure it is a software issue. Does anyone have access or a link to the stock ATT kernel/boot.img?? I'd like to troubleshoot but forgot to make a back up before I flashed the R/W kernel released here. Thanks.
Doesnt matter if the sdcard reader sees it fine in windows, your more than likely going from windows to android, try what I suggested. If the card is not formatted @fat32 it will not be read in phone...

Maybe I forgot to mention it but both cards are FAT32 formatted. Also, the samsung card was working just fine for a week before these issues started happening.
Im still searching for the stock att kernel.
Ok did you reformat and try them again?

Went to try and reformat them again and am getting some weird results.
If i plug them directly into the computer with an adapter and use SDFormat to format them, then the M8 will read the cards? However, it only reads half the amount of memory (30gb) and I do not have an option within SDFormat to change the size. Since M8 now reads the card, I went to format it within the storage settings and once that completes, it no longer recognizes the card...?? Not sure how that is possible unless the phone is reformatting the card to a format it does not recognize..?
Use sdcard reader on laptop format fat32,set it to default size...it varies on different cards, 4 kb 8kb 16kb etc...

Thanks for the continued assistance. I have done this but still only have Half of the advertised memory. When I first installed it out of the box, it worked and showed full memory (62gb). Also, the default windows formatting tool will render the card unreadable by the M8 so im using the program called SDFormatter. Seems like I'm running in circles so I guess I'll just deal with half the memory for now. At least it works.

Use above instructions to remove all partitions from sd card. Insert into phone it will prompt you about it being damaged and ask if you want to format it. Answer yes.
If you still continue to have issues, it is most likely a hardware issue.

Thank you guys for the help!
I tried using the above fix (disk part) but it didnt even recognize the device. L0ng story short. I was able to use BOOTICE to reformat my KINGSTON Sd card to 60 GB but my samsung only reads 30 (even though it is advertised as 64) I read that when you reformat some Samsung cards, there is a protected area that most generic formatting utilities can overwrite and render the card to half capacity. Not sure if that's the case but oh well. Got it the other card to work. Thanks so much guys! Now if I can figure out why the phone isn't turning on now.....

[HELP] SD Card became Read Only !!!

My 64GB SanDisk Ultra Class 10 card was running fine untill recently i flashed Omni ROM !! Then i was not feeling good with onmi and i returned back to Stock Rom..then the problems started to occur.I didn't notice at 1st.after when i connected to my pc to insert some files the files does not WRITE !! it shows that the files are being copied but when i refresh it stays the same old files which was previously there before....
What to DO ????
Can any one Help !!!
Use sd formatting tool on your pc, if still the same then buy a new card.
I have the same SD card, and sometimes when I flash a new rom I have to format because my phone is unable to read it. I always reformat it with SDFormatter V4.0, you can try it.
Do a "FULL (OverWrite)" format to be sure.

My S3 has killed at least 3sd cards of mine. Phone would start dismounting and remounting the SD card by itself, eventually the card would stop working. I've given up using a SD card in my phone
Mine has the same 32gb card I put in the day I got the phone, 2 years ago. Not had any problems at all, I avoid using the internal storage to reduce wear on the emmc chip.
